I came across this.
WinDroid - Windows 6.5 Pro + Android Smartphone with GPS
The results are in. The new WinDroid Smartphone is hands-down the most versatile smartphone on the planet. Here’s why:
The Best of Both Worlds
For the first time ever you can take advantage of today’s two best operating systems in one powerful and compact cellphone. For business people on the go the Windroid features the latest Windows 6.5 professional OS. This allows you to easily sync this phone with Outlook Express email as well as edit your Excel, PowerPoint and Word files all while away from your desk. When work is over simply select the popular Android OS and let the fun begin!
With the Android OS (developed by Google) you have the ability to customize and enhance this phone exactly how you like it. Simply download and install the Android Marketplace application, then select from thousands of new games, ringtones, wallpapers, applications and more- all from the convenience of your mobile phone. The Android OS also provides you with full integration of your Gmail accounts, Google calendar, Google maps and much more. Sounds fantastic right? Well, this is only the beginning...
First-class Design
The WinDroid provides a truly enjoyable experience that is sure to satisfy the senses. This is accomplished by using a colorful and vibrant 3.2 inch touchscreen that responds instantly to the slightest touch of your fingertip or stylus. The touchscreen sits flush into the phones all-flat surface and makes “sliding and sweeping” your finger to browse through web pages, photos, and eBooks both easy and convenient.
The in-hand feel is very comfortable too. That’s because this smartphone is only 14mm thick and is ergonomically designed so that only a single hand is needed to access the entire feature set. Another highlight is the touch-sensitive flush mount buttons located on the bottom of the phone which provide you with quick access to the call, end call and menu functions. The buttons vibrate when pressed and provide a unique look and feel to this already attractive cellphone.
Powerful Hardware
Tech junkies will be pleased to know that the WinDroid is no slouch; let’s take a look inside. At the heart of this device is the time-tested Marvell PXA310 CPU running at a swift 624 MHz. This is more than enough power to enjoy CPU demanding tasks such as watching your favorite high resolution movies, rendering complex webpages like YouTube or playing the latest video games. The WinDroid also features a powerful 802.11 b/g wireless card for lightning fast internet speeds as well as the Inner Sirf III GPS chip for use with your favorite GPS software. Powerful enough? We think so.
And There’s More!
Due to space limitations we cannot talk about every single feature this smartphone has to offer. But additional highlights include: full Bluetooth support, a true 2 megapixel camera/camcorder that captures beautiful images, GPS compatibility with popular software like TomTom and iGo, full Google Maps support, Skype support, MSN support and a powerful multimedia decoder for enjoying videos, photos, music and eBooks. The WinDroid smartphone offers all of these and many more high quality features that are sure to keep you entertained, increase efficiency, and keep you at the forefront of technology.
The Final Verdict
Let’s face it. Both Windows and Android have their distinct advantages. And until now you where stuck having to decide between one or the other. Thankfully, those days are finally over. Take this opportunity now to own an Android and Windows 6.5 Pro smartphone at the same price it would cost you for a good Android phone. To be frank, this is quite possibly the best value smartphone we have ever seen here at Chinavasion, or anywhere else for that matter. If you plan on getting one soon we advise you to order quickly while supplies last. And remember, all products from Chinavasion include our hassle-free full 12 month warranty.

Electronic picture frames are slowly catching on, and we all have gigabytes of family pictures on our desktops at home, but dont have much opportunity to see them.
Ive just bought a Tilt, which has the ideal design for either a desktop clock or a small picture frame. I tether every day, so its normally sitting next to my laptop, powered, but doing nothing.
My solution is in 2 parts. 1 free and 1 will cost $9.95
First, how to get your pictures on the device. This is simple using the media synchronizing abilities of active sync and desktop Windows Media Player.
First enable the media sync plug-in in activesync, then go to Windows Media Player and go to the sync tab with your device plugged in. There you should see your device as a sync-able storage device. Select it, chose to create a new sync profile, be sure to remove all the ones that are already there by default, choose to sync pictures, and add a further criteria to only sync say 10 MB. Set it to sync automatically.
This will copy about 10 Mb of photos (shrunk down to 320x211 resolution) to your device, to a Pictures folder at the root of your device.
Next you need an app called Dockwave Pro. This is not free (they do offer a free version, but it does not have the configuration options we need). Install it, point it to the pictures folder on your device, set the time out and the job is done.
Now every time your device is powered and idle for a few minutes, you will be surprised by a random selection of photos from your collection.
There is not much detail in this post, as I'm not sure how many people are interested, but it obviously can be fleshed out more with screen shots etc if there is enough interest. For a Tilt/Kaiser user its near perfect of course, as the device almost seemed designed for the role.
BTW, there is a built-in option in the built-in picture viewer, under options/slide show to play a screen saver of the pictures under the My Documents\My Pictures directory if your device is idle for 2 minutes, but Windows Media Player wont synchronize pictures to a directory accessible to that software, and the transitions are poorer.

Interesting idea. Could probably whip up a custom app for that. Now comes the problem. I have no pictures! (I should really get a camera, lol )

I think you may have a decent 3 megapixel one lying around
If you are going to make a custom viewer, you really need to try out Google photo screen saver out for inspiration. It has a brilliant zoom and pan mode which really brings your pictures to life, and it also downloads pics via RSS, which makes for a nice ever-changing performance.

Right Too bad it has no flash and even though it has 3MP the quality is nothing to write home about. I mean a real camera, that takes pictures I want to keep

Overkill I think for on a 320x240 device, but who knows. I don't even know if or when I'm going to do this, just an idea
Well, Chainfire,
For one, I would LOVE to see what you could come up with for a custom application! To test it out, just download a few pics from someplace....
$9.95 isn't bad...but something that matches the elegance of our Kaiser/Tilts is deserving of something GREAT!

Quality won't have to be stellar on that small screen though

Yeah, seen this design in many cloned phones.
These are made by chinese companies, using MTC chipset hardware with own UI/OS.
These phones are not using any windows mobile system, nor is the camera really 3.2MP (not to speak of autofocus , but only VGA.
This hardware design is also found as "Hiphone" (iPhone clone from HK) and many more..
Interesting thing though is the capability for DualSIM / Dual Standby and some models even feature Analog or Digital TV.
Nevertheless, this is just a cheap rip-off clone.

im going to get one
im in hong kong in a month...will grab one then and play with it.
I actually have 5 of these.. trying to figure out how to unlock them.
LOL, cool as mp3 player or secondary phone xD
I ordered one yesterday If annyone has questions about this phone, pm me in about 10 days
At this moment I'm wondering what camera it has. I'm allmost sure that it has a 0,3 megapixel camera, but a lot of websites say that it's 1,3 or even 3 or 13 megapixels. Others talk about lacpixels. I didn't know what it was so i googled it. It's a unit in the Indian numbering system and it stands for 100.000. So if it's 3 lacpixels, it would be 0,3 megapixels.
I know for sure it has NO windows mobile, but it's own firmware wich looks pretty nice with it's HTC home screen(no touch flow, only the home screen, i think)
For as far as i read about it, it looks a lot cheaper when you have it in your hand and it might give problems with the touch sensitivity.
I can't find anything about a webbrowser or email client in it, but according to the specs, it should have gprs.
The phone has a dual sim slot and should be able to have both sim cards in standby at the same time. I've seen a lot fake phones that have allmost the same specifications as this one(most of them where iPhone clones), most of them had dualsim, but none of them could have them both in standby at the same time.
I ordered this phone just to play with, but according to the information i found, i wouldn't recommend it as a primary phone.
I only paid $ 99,90 for it at Deal Extreme
(please be aware of the network frequency, only Europe and Asia might be supported..)
I know that this tread is older but its not that old. So what have you found out rubenmiddel? I am looking at possible getting one of these and using it on my att cell service, if this is at all possible. It looks good, sounds great, and looks like a good placement in my cell service.
hi ....i have this phone.
can anyone tell me where to get games and/or software for it .
im not sure where to look and what to look for, as it doent run on windows the touch diamond stuff doent work.
also would be good for a link to hints/tips setting the phone up and stuff as i cant get mms messaging to work....can recieve them but not download them and cant send them at all...sms and phoning work tho when i goto phone sum1 it dials an ip and doent connect ...i have to view then number then dial to get it to work....apart from this its a neat phone

For now the stream media player is only in Chinese, but the browser v6.3 Eng release is tabbed, fast and mature, running perfectly on VGA phones. I am really happy with it. give it a try and you guys might like it. Zoom or Adaptive mode, it's up to you!

no flash support at the moment. Skyfire does have flash support.
Does anyone know what rendering engine it's based on?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this app is awesome. so fast. it has many settings that let you get the zoom experience but the font cant be increased. that is the only drawback. other than that its as fast as opera mini, easier to use(no jbed environment, less memory hungry), and FREE!
Now if I could get that font to be a lil bigger...
A must have for all Pro users
Tabbed browsing as well.
Ucweb better than IE & Opera
This is the best browser!! I was using IE & Opera, but both were running very slow. Ucweb is much faster & downloads much quicker. Thank you, kind sirs (siresses), for this software.
I can't seem to get images to show up on this browser very well. Through a series of enabling and disabling show images + reloads, I can sometimes get some of the images on a page to show up, but it is very unreliable..
Acid3 score is 1/100 too.
as a chinese user, I've been using the chinese version of ucweb for years ever since I've got a phone with java support (the browser was firstly in java but now there are wm version android version etc, all of them work great).
This browser can not render webpages that similar to our desktop computers like the new opera did, and It might be a little bit slower when connecting (if the server for the english version is still in China...not sure..maybe it's not) than the others, but it is definitely a must have browser. It's lightweight comparing to opera and it works perfectly.
basing on my personal experience (using the chinese version), it saves a lot of data comparing to opera and of course IE (really useful if you have a very limited data plan) . I would assume the english version does that too.
Well anyway,
<in robotic voice> I MUST SUPPORT THIS THREAD xDDDD
Hey all,
I was tired of not being able to find certain video's in the popular YouTube apps out there in the MP. So I decided to throw a quick and simple app together which (at least for me) is able to locate and play the same results as the desktop version of YouTube.
So VeVo video's etc and other copyrighted stuff normally not available on mobile is available with this app. Please let me know if it also works in Germany.
Let me know if there is any interest, i might do further development. It is very basic now and all built in one day. Dont expect too much of it. Quick and simple, enjoy it!

Thank you! Great App!
I tried it on my Omnia 7 and It works fine, but some videos aren't smooth, for example Pixie Lott - Turn It Up by pixielottvevo in Standard Definition.
If you could fix it, it would be perfect
Thanks again!
I have to say that it is so nice to have a YouTube app that has a wonderfully clean interface, allows us to watch ALL videos, and runs so smoothly. Haven't noticed anything about choppy video playback. I don't mean to discredit the other wonderful Youtube apps available but the clutter that comes with them seems unnecessary and very distracting. It is my belief that most users are just searching and watching and the "featured", "most played", and most "discussed" sections of other apps are overkill. This is the perfect replacement for the HTC YouTube app which for most of us has to be sideloaded(like this one of course) but which also doesn't play copyrighted videos. Please, please, please keep it simple and focus on optimization if anything if future updates Even the simplicity of your icon is perfect!!!! And the use of the native player without the overlay and extra options is great as well!!!!
Yes that was indeed my intention. Ill fix the crash bug when there is no internet (stupid wp7 apis need 100 try catches).
Also Ill probably implement something like search on channel and add the possibility to read comments. The main focus is to get ALL videos supported.
Also I have no control over the smoothness of playback as it is handled by native wp7, could be a crappy encoded video. Or maybe a memory issue (restart might fix it?). So I cant really optimize on that regard.
I might add a pivot to move to the left for comments and related videos? Seems usefull I think. And perhaps allow one to click on the name of the publisher/channel so I can load up those videos.
Thanks for the positive and useful feedback!
Very nice, I never noticed that the videos were restricted (via metrotube or anything).
I also like how minimal this is, straight to the videos is great.

Make sure your phone is not connected to the pc as this will disturb smooth playback. It can be that the video is badly encoded or a memory issues. I pass the playback directly on to the wp7 media player.
Updated! Added some more features and some refinements. I think ill also implement the reading of comments, not sure if ill implement also commenting itself as that would require login etc which is quite some work.
Nice additions (authors, playlists by search). Simple but something I think a lot of users use a lot. Comments might be nice, seeing as the your UI design allows for it once you've selected a video (there's space for it). I know its your app but i really think you have something here and dare i say you could easily charge for this and make some money other than the ads. Although the ads are hardly noticeable due to the way you've implemented them. Videos load faster and smoother than any other app out there. They are right on par with the HTC Youtube app. I might be alone in this, but Im happy that you took out the "featured videos" that load when you start the app. I can search and be watching what I want before most other apps have even loaded. Stellar. I love the white background as well but might I suggest a black theme (might go nice with the metro dark theme if thats what a user is running).
Thanks
Yes I can get it into the mp without ads, Im only afraid I can not use these logos and name and ill have to use a non branded name than. Ill have to think about maybe an in app pay system to remove the add. But all this will come much later. Will still have to design a start page and implement comments.
Should i use a button to toggle the comments or a pivot?
i would recommend a pivot. That way it gives the user the option to look at them if they want. I would assume it will allow for a quicker load of the "play video" page but it will still leave the option available if the user wants. Also, a pivot will add to the already nicely implemented "metro" theme. To be perfectly honest, the ads are minimal and very non-invasive. I would have no problems if you just left them and Im sure most other people would agree. Of course, entering the marketplace etc. is something I can't speak to. Any plans for a dark theme.
dosnt seem to play age restricted videos and no log in option available is their a way around this?

No login implemented yet. Ill look into the age restricted stuff later. With unrestricted I mean whether users can watch vevo etc.
Also Ive not specifically looked into germany as germany may get different results (in the xmls it specifically states restricted DE... Can any german guy confirm whether VEVO returns a result?)
The login might come but that needs more work, the simplicity and availability to play desktop results were first. Its quickly built
@yeahyeahyeah1981: good news man, I implemented a pivot with comments and related videos its looking nice. I still have a tiny problem with losing the instance so ill have to implement some saving and loading but that will be done somewhere this week and that ill post the newer version
Dark theme no plans yet. But should not be too hard to implement, ill just need to cut out the logos and dont like that haha other than that its just binding to variables find and replace Black with {Binding ForeGroundColor} and same for white. But I also need to make settings etc.

This is a sort of a major update since it adds support for Apple's new AirTag which is helpful both if you have an AirTag or just so that your Mac can act as a relay to trace a lost AirTag. Let's go over the new features.

macOS Big Sur 11.3 introduces support for the AirTag which means you can track your wallets, keys, and other belongings directly from your Mac. It also gets the new Find My that can help you track your lost belongings or even ping another AirTag in your vicinity so that the owner can be notified of the exact location in which their item with AirTag was last found.
2. Better support for iPhone and iPad apps
Apple introduced support for iOS and iPad OS apps on the Mac with macOS Big Sur. Of course, you need to have a Mac with Apple Silicon to be able to do this so any of the new M1 Macs can run iPhone and iPad apps. With macOS Big Sur 11.3, Apple has improved the support for these apps by introducing resizeable windows, the ability to display apps in the highest resolution they're natively supported in, and finally, keyboard and mouse controls for apps and games which can be really handy since the Mac doesn't have a touch-screen display.
3. New Emojis and Improved Siri
The emoji selector now has the option to choose from multiple skin tones for different couple emojis including the one with a kissing emoji and the heart emoji. There have been new face emojis added as well.
As with Siri, there are more diverse options now.
4. Apple Music and Podcasts
If you have auto-play enabled, Apple Music will continue to play songs similar to your previously played song once you've reached the end of your playlist. City Charts will now show you popular tracks from over 100 cities around the world.
The Podcasts app has also received some new changes including a redesign helping users to find their favorite podcasts easily. You can now save and download episodes which automatically get added to your Library and can be then accessed easily. More podcasts are now easier to discover using the Top Charts and Popular Categories menus.
5. News and Reminders
Apple's News+ service now has a redesigned feed that helps subscribers find newspapers and magazines quickly and easily. Search has become more relevant to find the topics and channels you most prefer.
As with reminders, the ability to sort them and support for syncing the order of reminders across your Apple devices has been introduced. You can now print your reminders and lists as well.
6. Safari, Gaming, and other System Features
Safari has undergone a number of changes including customization for the Start Page section, extensions that can replace the new tab page, speech recognition on websites for dictation and voice navigation, and WebM and Vorbis video and audio support.
If you're among the 3 people who play games on their Mac, you can now pair your Xbox Series S and X controller or the new Sony PS5 DualSense Controller which is sweet.
Macs with the M1 chip now have support for hibernation. Just like the iPhone, the About page on your Mac will now display the warranty status of your Mac along with Apple Care+ coverage. You can even purchase and enroll your Mac into Apple Care+ from this section.
Problems and Issues fixed in macOS 11.3
Some Reminders created via Siri would go off during early morning hours which has been fixed.
Some users were unable to turn off the iCloud keychain feature which can now be done.
AirPods, which can be used with multiple Apple devices were unable to properly switch between connected devices and this issue has now been reportedly fixed.
While the AirPods are automatically switching between devices, the notifications may be missed at times or they may be duplicated in earlier versions but this has been fixed too.
Fixed the problem with external 4K monitors not displaying full resolution when connected via USB-C.
The Login screen was not being displayed properly on previous versions after restarting on some M1 Macs.
Apart from these new changes and fixes, there are some security updates too on macOS Big Sur 11.3 which make your Mac more secure and protect it from malicious files.
Have you updated to the latest version of macOS? If you use a pair of AirPods or you got yourself Apple's new AirTag, this update is for you as it makes things a lot more seamless, especially with the improved switching on AirPods.
