just saw this a minute ago. looks interesting.

Wonder how the screen will cope being VGA at such a small size (size is akin to the Kaiser).
And it's impressively light - hope it feels good too.
Wonder what "XPERIA" panels are.
Photo light is the feature I most miss from my Hermes.
Sounds nice. Might have to postpone my next upgrade until it comes out... Just hope the hardware isn't crippled.
You might allready have seen this (or even posted it?)
It looks so great!

Cavey:
"Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur"
"Anything said in Latin, seems profound"
How about this then?
"Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?"
Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1
I thought that this will look great on the Kaiser

This is the probably the best phone I have seen in a few years. Hope it is really as good as it promises, and if it is HTC will be in really serious trouble. By the way finally a decent screen, only HTC doesn't seem to notice that QVGA is way too little for a 2.8" screen.
800 x 480 on 3"? OMG!
Otherwise, great looks
Looks nice, quick question, is aGPS on the X1 like the Kaiser's GPS in that it operates with "free standing" nav software but does get "quick start" data from the network?? I wouldn't want to take a step back on the GPS front.
Here is a small video of it

It's got US frequencies.. Though it might cost some mula
wow!! looks nice!!
SOLD
I have to admit I'm sold too. . . check out the specs on the product home page. They look really really good. I've learned from my "mistake" with the Kaiser to try the software (drivers) within the 30 days and return it if they aren't up to par with what's expected.
hmmmm... tempting
I never thought I would leave the HTC's!!!
The one area HTC may want to work on is the cosmetics. That Sony Ericsson looks a hell lot sexier than an HTC!
Don't forget:
Release is in the second half of 2008...in the worst case SE will release it before christmas ;-)
wasent it a cooperation with HTC? so in other words this phone is made by htc.. but branded by se ?
Hy, I have a TyTn II that work very slowly that takes some seconds to turn page on mobile shell for example or sometimes some minute to close an application ._.
I have for program 85Mb of total ram wich 37 in use and 48 free
for files 119Mb, 37 in use 82 free
Installed on it there is only mobile shell 3.5, fingersuite and aebutton
all the other progam are in the micro sd (core player, resco explorer and photo viewer, pocket rar, skifire, spb backup, tomtom, wisbar, hicalc and 3 games)
I also have clean ram but not resolve the problem
how i can make my phone speedest? maybe with a registry cleaner?
someone know the combination of software, tweak and option to make the tytn II become very fluid and touch friendly?
Thanks

The best way of course would be to do a hard reset, but that would require backing up all data and then reloading all settings and programs.
Is an hour or so of resetting worth a faster phone ?
If not try Clean Ram and Clear Temp. That should speed it up
Hello,
The Samsung Omnia 2 have the same problem with Tomtom Navigator 7 like the samsung omnia I900 you must use the a soft like Gpsgate or portsplitter.
But There is a new software of Tomtom Navigator "7.917" who are compatible With The Omnia I900.
Is anyone have it, can he Test it on our omnia 2 and post the result ?
Thanks in advance.
Don't have any problems with TomTom on a Omnia II
Just use [other GPS] with [4800 baud] on [COM7] and it works for me.
GpsModDrivers (from this forum) works as well
hi everyone,
i have an omnia2 and Tomtom for I900 ... i couldn't install the cab from that version so i had to find a modded cab version for installation and then upgraded to the latest again.
i installed the I900 version fine on a first gen omnia so the prob is not the file it self... it just woudn't let me gothrough the install process on the Omnia2.
and after testing multiple hacks found here and on modaco and french forums, i still can't get TT to run without gpsgates or portspliter or gpsModDrivers.
at the moment at least i test all the hacks on IL5 ; BII ( SFR ) , JA1 JA5 roms and no positive result . i know some managed on the same roms but must have made an extra mod
For greg330
Hello
For greg330 , what is your version of tomtom i900 is the :7.917 ?
@++
hello,
yes it is the 7.917 version bought in december 2009 and tried on the Omnia2 , as described, and finaly tested on the Omnia1 where it runs great.
some managed to run it alone, some couldn"t this on the same roms. there must be something to find that all make it work .
i must add , my version is an original but i had to find a 7.915 to install on the Omnia2 and then upgrade to the latest version as the soft given by tomtom would install fine ont the I900 it wouldn't install on the I8000.
maybe thats the diff, as soon as i find the direct install to the 7.917 i'll retry and leave a post. i'm iritated too by the extra soft i have to use ...
For GREG
Hello,
Greg330 can you check your PRIVATE MESSAGE please.
Hi i answer you in PRIVATE MESSAGE ;-)
@+++
Hello, someone could say to download the 7917 for my tomtom omnia II? Gpsmodriver it works well with highway but in town gets a little stuck.
Thanks
b7620
I have tomtom 7_910.9185 running on my b7620. Fully functional and without any problems
Same here..7_910.9185 works great.
Don't use al those gps mod programs because it will drain your battery verry fast.
Only gpsmoddriver was good for me in the past but now there is a good sollution from tomtom..so update your tomtom and it will work.
you dont need assist software, just change hardware com port 9,software port to 4
Are you sure? I use TT Navigator 7.910.9192 and the satnav still DOESN'T get a fix without PortSplitter...
You don't need any prog like portsplitter, gpsgate etc.
This is what I have done, and it work's (at least for me):
Change these settings in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\Drivers\Samsung GPS Hardware\InputBufferSize: set from 4096 to 512
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\Drivers\Samsung GPS Hardware\OutputBufferSize: set from 4096 to 512
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\Drivers\Samsung GPS Hardware\SleepOnNoData: set from 100 to 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\Multiplexer\MaxBufferSize: set from 16384 to 1024
The rest is the same as the usual GPS and TomTom settings. I used com port 4 (and 9 for hardware), but you can probably use any other port that hasn't been assigned yet.
I used gpsgate earlier, but now, I don't have to :-D
The Cab
I've I give you the CAB...Can anyone try it please?

Wow I'm impressed, I own a B7610 with fresh official 6.5 and this trick is working very well, I never saw totom fixing and workiing alone so fast (of course it wasn't working before without proxy), and even better, it seems that Igo8 and Google Maps are working better, no more freezes, and lot more sats (first time i see 9 sats on gmaps) I use port 4 and 7. With 6.1 and uncomplete full internet access, it was ... a nightmare to me, horribly long fix, working sometimes...
Is there a way to get tomtom for free??? hehehe just wondering...
Have you tried typing in *#1472365# into their Omnia2?
It brings up some extra gps settings, some of which are similar to settings that can be reached in registry but some are unique.
The main one that was of interest to me was the start up mode of GPS.
Mine was set to cold start which meant that every time i started my tomtom it did so by deleting all previous data.
This meant i was on a cold start each and every time i used it which was why it took forever to lock sometimes.
I have now changed this setting to "hotstart" and my locks are instant.
There are various other settings that can be played with and tried out but this setting alone got rid of the only flaw i could find in the Omnia2.
See post 95 onwards at the following link for more info on tomtom with omnia

Hi all
This is my first post
I thought I would share this modded opera mini 5 cab for wm2003se
It works perfectly on my Alpine
Enjoy

Excellent find - works well.
Had been using the midlet version, this seems quicker.

I found that as well
Very smooth and runs fullscreen as well, unlike the midlet version
Is there any way of reducing the font size even more than 'small' ?
I found typing
config:
into the address bar gives some 'power user' settings, but no more luck..
Have found configuration options quite lacking in both this and the java version - maybe I'm missing something.
As you say this runs much smoother and seems faster.. and loads really fast compared to the midlet version..
please make upgrades for wm2003se .... surely most of ppl would like it...
Outstanding!!!
OUTSTANDING!!!
Thank you very much!!!!
Thank you. It's work very well in my XDA IIi.
thx,try it
thank you so much! it works great!
Thanks this is EXACTLY what I needed! I couldn't find any good browser for my Windows Mobile 2003SE PDA, this is it!
great! Thanks very much.I hope that i can see more sofewares shared each other.
Nice to have an alternative browser to IE which crashes on a lot of modern sites.
However, I'm finding that it is very erratic about loading sites straight away -sometimes it takes a few goes or have to shut it down and start again.
Doesn't handle forum replies or webmail very well and no word completion.
But, at least it does load most sites pretty well.
Thanks
Opera Mini 5.1 available for wm2003se.
Or visit m.opera.com using Internet Explorer on your PDA (can't download it with Opera Min Beta).
It'll download alongside your current installation, so your bookmarks, etc won't be transferred over (there's probably a way). Just tried it this morning; not sure which I prefer yet...
Good that they support 2003 out-of-the-box still
The CAB won't open on my XDAIIi (Invalid Windows CE setup file). I'll try via PC later.
Strange... it definitely installed on mine... as you say, see how the PC install goes..
I don't see the XDA IIi listed under supported devices...XDA, XDA II, XDA IIs, XDA III but no IIi...
Amazingly, they actually have an installer for 2003se devices this time. I checked out the m.opera.com site from my WM2003se and there was a mobile 2003se alternate installer!
I installed it on my Dell Axim X50, Windows Mobile 2003se, it works perfectly. Quite a bit better than Opera Mini 5 beta.
Yeah, I installed it. Nice to have an alternative to IE but it still has quite a few false starts when trying to connect.
Imports bookmarks from mini using Opera Link which is good.
opera mini 5.1
Fab!
It has a default browser option!
and works FAR better with forms than 5

AT&T Tilt 2 with the "Energy.RHODIUM.29007.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Jan.16.7 z" ROM.
It looks like I lost the screen rotation. The screen rotates only in Opera. Internet Explorer, email and others (which worked with the official Aug. 30 ROM) do not rotate any longer.
Based on what I found in the huge Energy ROM thread, I do have the 3 files and the 3 registry files and they appear to be correct.
Is there anything else I can look into?
Thanks!
