Diamond Missing internal storage
I have discovered the same issue of the Internal storage missing, I have tried flashing it with the latest and greatest firmware and nothing appears to bring it back. It just does not show up when the phone and when I go to memory it just says that the Internal Storage card is not installed.
Any help would be fantastic.

Hi SurfHost,
The storage is missing even when the phone is unplugged from the PC,
It is a real concern, when I first noticed is when I went to play music while I was driving and the phone could not find the music that was stored on the internal storage. mmmm
I am concerned its buggered.
If you run some Programms you cant acess your internal storage. (had the same problem with tomtom for a while).
HI i have the same problem. with my orange diamond. secound phone to do this.
orange giving my problems with changing the phone again.
i spoke to htc direct and they were very helpful. after a long phone chat with there engineer he agreed the phone is faulty.
they have had cases were a double hard reset somtimes brings the phone back in line. but in my case it didnt work.
did you connect your phone to your car stereo? and then it became faulty?
Maybe theres somthing in these readers which trips the phones up?
The Internal Storage only disappears when you set to use it as a high speed mass storage device and not an active sync device.
Try changing the usage over and see if it comes back.

The poster says this in his second post: The storage is missing even when the phone is unplugged from the PC.
Try to read before you post, and welcome btw
Hi dazkent,
How do I do a double hard reset?
I am willing to try anything at this stage.
Besides from it losing most of its memory, I still love this phone, but not having the space for Mp3s or TomTom apps its just a simple phone.
Looking forward to some help
Thanks everyone

Never heard of anything called 'double hard reset'. I'd suggest performing 'ordinary' hard reset, here is the how to:
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. With the device turned on, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and
ENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
3. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons until you see the message on the screen (about all the personal data being deleted)
4. Release the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons, then press the
VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other
button to cancel the reset.
If that doesn't help I'd try to put newer ROM in if I were you.

If you had come to this stage . . . .
I suggest that you goto: Start > Setting > System > Clear Storge > in the drop down panel select "Format InternalStorage Only", see whether is works . . .
You are the one who decide, is you Diamond . . .
I would be happy to format the internal storage if it was seen by the OS, it just does not show up. I will try the hard reset now and see what that gives me. Thanks everyone for your help so far.
HI
Double hard reset. was sugested by the engineer at htc. when trying to solve this issue.
basiclly perform hard reset and as soon as reboot finish perform again.
It didnt fix mine and the htc engineer said my phone was faulty.
After 6 hours back and forth on the phone to orange.
Orange finally replaced my phone for the 3rd time for this fault. had it a week now and current phone seems to be holding out fine. although now i have a battery drain issue with this one!
My Diamond loses Internal Storage when connected to the PC as a USB disk - as expected.
Sometimes it does not regain the Internal Storage when unplugging it from the PC. My assumption (not yet tested) is that this tends to happen when the File Explorer is open on the Diamond when disconnecting.
Completely powering off+on the Diamond (not just Standby) solved these incidents for me every time so far....never needed to hard-reset.
I have exactly the same fault.
My internal storage will return if I do a hard reset, but that's a pain to set up my device from scratch everytime.
After using it for a day or so (using Active Sync at work and mass storage at home), it will lose the ability to 'see' the internal storage.. either via mass storage or Active synch connection, although plugged in as a mass storage device the PC can still see and use it as normal, just active synch or the phone itself can't see it.
I'm not so sure that this is a hardware issue, I think the phone still thinks it's connected via 'normal' usb.
Any ideas, I'm on Rom 1.93 and the issue is still occurring. It's doing my nut in!
The best way it's to use linux...
Just connect the phone to the pc(with linux), chose the disk option on the phone.
Then on the pc go to the partition manager and on the right top side chose the phone memory.Chose and eliminate that partion and after that just create a new one. This not very complete any doubt's just post...
I have done this one Ubuntu, the 8.10 version, with the disk running, not instaled on the pc.
if you are a sprint user this is the solution http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloa...id=148&act=all i have the same problem but im not sprint
I had this problem once also. Diamond could not see internal storage.
I opened file explorer and saw that i had
Internal Storage
and
Internal Storage2
Internal Storage did not contain anything though
What i did is rm the Internal Storage folder and Soft Reset.
Everything back to normal...
actually while you enter the hardreset menu there are two options, choose the one that says hard reset along with formatting internal storage(moviNAND or somthing).
No Internal Storage Install
My Diamond (P3700) have the same problem.
I tried use hotfix here http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=148&act=sd&cat=all
but it's said : ''Please use the correct device to install this Hotfix Program!"
Is there a way to get my internal storage back??

Yo bro, i encountered this problem before. no worries.
all u need to do is:-
1) connect your diamond to ur pc.
2) format your internal memory there.
3) flash your phone again.
4) you will have your internal memory back again.
Note: dun try to connect your phone to your car audio again.

Hi there,
Firstly, be gentle - I'm new to all this.
My Kaiser has recently started to mess with me. It will not connect with my PC for activesync. I've tried plugging it into PC's at work too all with the same problem: the host PC's do not notice the device being plugged into the USB however the phone will start to charge from the PC's USB.
I've tried disabling the "advanced network functionability" toggle, and even different USB cables.
I really don't want to hard reset the device until I get Sprite working (after an upgrade which I cannot do due to not being able to connect).
Whoever can help will make my Christmas card list this year
Frank.
You can have SPB backup your phone to an executable .exe file on you SD card if you have room and then hard reset.
Only problem with this is when you do a restore, you will probably restore the fault again.
Best option is just to backup your data (no apps or settings) with SPB, do a hard reset and put any cabs back on one by one to check if its one of those causing the prob.
Thank's for the suggestion Farsquidge. It looks like this will have to be the solution unless others have been through this.
It's annoying that WM6 is such a pain. So many small bugs on this device it makes me question where I'd rather settle with a mobile: Versatility + unreliability OR Normal phone + reliability.

I hope someone can help you further on this.
It can be a pain to get them set up just how you want them but once working they are great!
With all the complex functions it has, there is no wonder people have problems (how many times do people reset their PC's or have a game or app crash it?)
That's what this forum is about, no-one knows everything and sharing info is the best way to do it. I find tons of uesful info and tips on here that just keep on enhancing the unit but, inevitably, I may add an app, or a tweak just not right for my phone and have to resort to the old hard reset and put it all back on again.
It's fun but gives you a wakeup kick at times!
Forgot to suggest, if you do not already have SP Backup, (because you cant sync) put your SD card in a compatible card reader on your PC then run it on your phone.
My suggestion would be this - download the trial for SPB Pocket Plus and install it (they have a CAB available). In the settings, go enable the "Safe Mode" boot option and soft reset. When the Safe Mode dialog appears, boot in safe mode and see if your computer recognizes the phone now.
If it does, something you've installed is messing with your phone. Start rolling back installations and resetting taking off the app at the top of the list under Remove Programs. After each app, boot in normal mode and see if you can connect. If not, rinse and repeat.
If you ever get a "normal" connection, you'll know which app or combination of apps caused your problem.

Nice one!! I only have the SPB 'Lite' that came on the HTC CD that does not have that option. Will look at their site for an upgrade myself.

Hi everyone! I got my Wing like 2 months ago, and I did what every newbie does. I Installed lots of things just to realize that I would use 10% of the stuff. Then, started the cleanup, trying not to hard reset it, just as a matter of pride.
The worst thing I did to my Wing was Pocket Mechanic Pro. It's famous "registry optimizer" swept away my voice command among other things. After some research, and ivanmmj's inspiration (thanks again, ivan), I managed to fix almost every issue that PMP's registry optimizer caused. The only one remaining is that everytime I soft reset the phone, it keeps looping and never gets into today screen. T.Mobile logo and silly music, Windows mobile logo, and then after a while, starts all over again, and again, and again. The only workaround for this is to take the microSD out and when I see the today screen reinsert it. No big deal, but sometimes it's recognized as Storage Card 2 so I have to rename Storage Card and reinsert the microSD. Any ideas on what might be causing the restart loop?? Help would be really apreciated....
A thing may be you have missing registry keys and the OS identifies bad paths. Sometimes it happens with *folders* called "Storage Card" and then you must rename the SD card. (This happens usually if using software for english-only systems and you're using i.e. spanish WM which calls "Tarjeta de Almacenamiento" to the SD card, then you may fins sometimes a "Storage Card" as a folder, not the SD card).
Another *different* thing (I think that's not happening to you now) is the SD card is bad, and you must format it. Sometimes the device freezes without any apparent cause...
Well, I posted to your other thread about your problem, Ivan suggested you to hard-reset (I hard-resetted many many times my Herald... I'm a newbee forever ) and the best you can do is:
1) Search for a good ROM, do *every* previous step (including a search and download of your original ROM and Radio, etc.), and then install this ROM you prefer. A Light or Naked will help you to have an empty device to fill it at your own wish.
2) Look for an app which does backups, and backup your registry.
3) Look for an app which helps you to enter "safemode" if any problem appears. With Monocube v.2 you can align screen and enter to something similar to standard mode, with Monocube v.3 you can't but you'll be able to solve problems (those apps are not free)
4) Install Schap's Advanced config, and config your device (take care of configuring options for the Herald/Wing, not for the Kaiser or others)
5) Install on the device ONLY the apps you'll or your device will need. the rest, you'll have enough space for them in the SD card.
6) Try to minimize the use of RAM, so that you must have the fewest apps running.
7) Backup all your device again so you'll be able to recover your config without spending looots of days installing again.
8) If something wrong happens, you'll be able to boot in safe mode and correct it or to hard-reset and recover your old conbfig/installation.
Hi, I've been trying to track some answers down all day about this, and I have no idea what's going on.
Last night, my phone was being a little slow, so I held the power button down and rebooted it. When it turned back on, it asked me to calibrate the screen and asked me if I wanted a password, and when I was finished, my SPB Mobile Shell didn't launch, and I noticed that I had no contacts, texts, or e-mails anymore.
However, it keeps on telling me that my storage memory is critically low. My theory is that my data is all there, I just can't access it for some weird reason. I ca actually use my old ringtones, so it wasn't a complete hard reset.
At first, I tried to hard reset the phone, but I don't have the "clear storage" application at all, so that's out. My next step was to try and see if I could somehow et someone at the phone store to flash it, but they just told me I had to buy out my contract because they are dicks. Big ones.
So I went home and tried to flash my ROM back to stock, so that at least I could erase the storage memory and restore some semblance of functionality, but I can't even do that. When I try to use Sync, the phone won't work, and on my Windows 7 machine, I can see that I have used 100% of the storage memory, and the drive is completely locked. I can't remove files from the computer, nor on the phone itself.
I tried to flash the thing, but even when I put it into the bootloader mode, the Flashing stops at 0% and nothing ever happens.
The phone is a CDMA Diamond 500, with MTS as the carrier. I just want to have access to that drive, is there any possible way to do this? Any info would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
Thank you to anyone who helps me out!
Just a quick note:
I found another person exhibiting this exact problem, but his problem was solved by hard resetting the phone. I can't hard reset my phone through ordinary means as described above, but is there any other way, like from the bootloader or by using hardware buttons? If I could hard reset, I think I could fix this whole mess.
Never mind, I managed to get it done.
Nothing to see here, folks.
I would use "Microsoft My phone" to back up my contacts and photos docs etc on your device drive. I'm not sure that a hard reset would even effect your "internal storage" so it's worth a shot.. You can find a .cab in the marketplace for the program. I know whenever I flash my phone it doesn't effect my Internal storage.
Sorry... to hard reset from bootloader hold down the volume down button and the center Touch wheel button and power button when you turn it on.
I have had problems in the last few weeks with my micro sd. I posted in 'android general' about this, I want to switch back to the normal partitions. In the past, on XDA I had found a 'fix' that would switch the mounting of microsd and local mass storage, making the microsd the main partition (to the eye of the device, the microsd would become the internal memory, and apps would be installed there automatically).
Anyway, never installed any rom on my phone, only the root. I tried a hard reset today....I went to the configuration (language and account setup) now the phone shows a black screen, you can see (and interact with) only the status bar. A popup telling me about an update came up, I did the update (67 MB), reboot, and then the message: couldn't update the device, try connect to Kies.
Screen still black with only the notification bar (that works, wifi gps buttons etc,). I could go into the options, and see that the microsd is still seen as main memory (switched).
Basically I have two questions:
- why didn't the hard reset work?
- how do I switch microsd and internal memory? I tried looking for the file but I can't remember which one I did edit
And third:
- how do I get out of this ? the only reason why I did the hard reset (microsd not working, switching microsd-internal memory) is still there, so how to say, I in an even worse situation now.
Ok, switched off, removed the microsd. Now it won't boot. Stays stuck on 'SAMSUNG' logo glowing. I guess it doesn't find the files he put on the microsd. But anyway, I thought the stock rom for the hard reset was always stored in the (real) internal memory (2GB big), not the 12GB one (that he can't find because it's called as a microsd partition now...)
this looks like a problem.

it often happens that the touch crashes, go freeze, it does not work, and I must press the power button to turn the display off and then turn it back on and unlock go again to resolve. Has not happened only to the display unlock, but sometimes even when I used it. Do you know what it is, what comes from and maybe how to fix?

is your phone rooted?
do you have my kernel installed?
have you tried flashing stock already?
If yes then probably h/w problem-go to service center.
no, the phone is immaculate
Hello!
Please, check if internal memory of phone is not full.
-in Settings, tap Storage, take a look on Phone storage - Available
If memory is full:
- run storage wizard to clean memory - Settings, tap Storage > Make more space
- remove or delete photos, downloads, files etc. on internal memory or move them to SD card
- unistall unused Apps or move used Apps to SD card
- set Camera storage to SD card
This helped my colleague on Desire 500 with similar problem like Yours.
unfotunately is not a solution for me....wont work

I have a friend who has this phone and experiencing the EXACT same problems, now even considering to chuck the phone out and buy something else. Doesn't anyone here know if it is possible to fix this somehow? Is it some app that is running in the background that is causing it and that you can then disable/freeze to remedy the problem.
Rooted and flashed custom kernel Kangbang on it...
Any help to resolve this would be much appreciated.

I actually found what worked out all the problems for my friend in the end.
Use an app freezer to deactivate all the stock apps on the phone that you're not using.
If you know what you're doing you can also disable some of the services etc.
I disabled most of the Google stuff like Google Music, Maps, Books etc etc. and that made my friends phone very happy.
No more hanging, no more issues with the touch screen.
Also another related issue he had was after I rooted and made it work nicely the phone would not get picked up by the computer as a "Media device" under Windows anymore. Turns out you have to disable USB Debug for it to work correctly. I disabled USB debug with the phone disconnected from the computer, then after that was done I restarted the phone to verify that the USB debug (under developer options) had been completely disabled. THEN I plugged the phone into his computer and it all worked.
