tells you where it came from. just put in your IMEI or Serial number to find out.

It's printed on the label beneath the battery too.

cheers for that man

Refurbished tilts?

Is there anyway to distinguish a refurbished tilt? I came across this on Ebay and it got me wondernig... http://cgi.ebay.com/AT-T-Tilt-HTC-8...ryZ64355QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I bought mine off ebay "Brand new in box", but now im wondering if there was ever a way for me to really know. Does the H/W version or anything give it away?
yup, that one is a refurb.....the refurbished tilts come in a plain white box like the one shown in the picture. The new tilts come in more colorful box something like this
Hmm. . . I wouldn't know only buy if it came in a while box.

The Tilt you listed clearly states that the phone is a refurbished item.
"The winning bidder will get a HTC Tilt just as it came straight from AT&T....no add ons....the phone is still locked to AT&T network...This item is a refurbished unit, but you will not be able to tell, I have a refurbished one myself and when you get it, it looks BRAND NEW!!!"

there is a chance that the'll do it even better from the original!
If they are anything like the iPhone copies I wouldnt hold me breath! Its bound to happen tho!
what about registering at htc e-club... ?
or do you mean before buying the device?
Looks like they mean BEFORE purchasing the device.
Eg how do you know the device is fake?
From what ive seen of the iPhone fakes they are pretty obvious but ive yet to see a copy of the Diamond. The iPhone fakes looked kinda ok, but the software on them wasnt very good at all. (check YouTube for some examples!)
I guess it would be obvious from where you purchased it from eg eBay (thats where they usually are for sale!)
its been done.

it is simple look for HTC logo between screen and buttons ... this copy obviously doesn`t have it and thinking about it they can`t put it there because then it would be crime and they could be prosecuted for it ...
Even the box is styled like the Diamonds with -"CECT Smart Mobility" on it! (not high quality plastic like the original Diamonds box, hehe!) They have even left the HTC logo on the phone on the box artwork!
Cheeky fellows!

The problem is when they put pictures of the real Diamond and then send you one of those fakes Anyway just avoid ebaying expensive items to sellers with less than 1000 votes and you should be confident that they are selling what they are showing on the pics.
yep ensure for buyers protection and you won`t have a problem at all ... you can always contact e-bay about buying fake item

I don't think they have windows mobile installed.

Model compatibility with hardware.

Question:
is a product compatible with a HTC HD2 T8585 compatible with a HD2 T9193?
Just need to know as I'm trying to buy new stuff and hope it doesn't matter.

You mean form factor? The only HD2's with a different size are the T-Mobile US models, all others are called 'International'.
Well I want to buy this wall charger thingo, and it says it's for the HD2 T8585, so if that ISN'T the Tmobile US model then am I safe?

I haven't a clue, I don't know what your voltage is in Australia. Look at your countrys voltage and compare it with the charger and if the glove fits, your in action.

Alright - Looks like I'll be fine - The phone listing on the page I'm looking at [for the product I'm buying] also refers to the "HTC Leo 100 AU"
Jeez...you'd think they could have just made ONE type of HTC HD2...but nooo...they had to make it all complicé!
anyway. thanks for the help

[Q] IMEI Is not the same as on the sticker.

Hi everyone,
maybe you could help me
I bought Samsung Galaxy Note from Ebay, I noticed that IMEI on the box and on the sticker behind the battery is not the same as on the phone itself.
The IMEI on the sticker behind the battery is the same as on the box.But if i check
*#06# on the phone it is not the same IMEI.
???????
The guy I bought it from, claimed the phone was brand new.

It could be a innocent mistake, say the seller had checked the devices and mistakenly replaced them in the wrong box.
The ultimate question is how much you paid for it. If it was really cheap, then you have to ask the question why?
Maybe its a refurbished one, and somehow he has managed to get some boxes.
Me being the suspicious type, i would return it!
But hey, i could be wrong

It wasnt that cheap.
if device was mistakenly replaced in the wrong box that really would not be the issue for me.
The problem is,
Sticker with IMEI under the battery is same as on the box, but not the same as on the phone if i put *#06#.

It sounds fishy to me. Someone could have changed the phone imei
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
*Replaced nv_data.bin maybe. I dont know whether its possible.
*Does the *#06# IMEI begin with 35 ?
It might be the default Samsung IMEI showing up as a result of a corrupt efs partition.

I would complain, return and buy from somebody else.
All three numbers should match on a brand new phone. If the sticker doesn't match the read out, then somebody messed with low level software or hardware, e.g. taking the case from one phone and sticking into it the hardware from another...
Just my two cents..

Defiantly return it. I cant think of any legitimate reason for it to be like that.
Refurbished unit? Maybe!!!
That means someone has been doing something with this phone for sure.
Anyone could tell me where I should be looking for warranty void sticker on my Galaxy Note as I suspect that one is missing too.
Most likely you won't find that sticker - it's often inside the phone, between two parts of the phone case. Not knowing what you are doing when taring apart, you just rip the sticker in two pieces and Samsung techs will notice.
Besides - Return it. ^^ (could be stolen)

differences between Akku case on branded and non-branded devices?

Just a Single question:
is there any difference between the stock and the Vodafone battery case?
i ask that because we have one case with serial number LG Star and one with serial number LG pXXXX.
I haue two colleagues, One has the Vodafone branded and one has the LG stock and the First is blaming the the other that he has change the covers to get the better one with less scratches.^^
thats childish and stupid i Know but i just want to Know who i can Trust.
so may be you Know how to find out or just write what your serialnumber is and if you have branding or not.
thx for your help ;-)

Mine says LG-P999 and is unbranded.
Btw, "Akku" is called "battery" in English, to avoid confusion you should change that
