Silent for about 20 second on phone calls

After using the Tilt for a week, I experienced this problem couple times and I wonder if others are having the same problem. This typically happen after I used my phone for a while. I would make a phone call or receive a call, the call would be silent or both ends (caller and callee) for about 20 seconds and then we could hear each other. Once the phone had this problem, every subsequence calls will have the same problem until I soft-reset the phone. I wonder if it is a hardware problem and if I should get an exchange before the 30 days is up.

never had this problem in any of my windows phones... any 3rd party applications installed?
what operating system is it running? (AT&T? t-mobile? Orange? etc)

Hard reset the phone. Worked for me.

I also had the exact same problem with my Tilt flashed to HTC stock Rom. It only happened once before I flashed to austinsync's BigStorage Rom and has not happened since. But I am starting to get a little nervous about all of these "little issues" that people are having with this phone.
You know.... like the phone not working!! Or... emails not coming through after the phone goes to sleep!!
I am really hoping we see a new Rom show up on these boards like... by the weekend.

I am using the original AT&T rom and do not have any 3rd party recording software. I do have MS Voice Command 1.6 but I don't think that's the problem.

No voice command, standard t-mobile Vario III.
I'm also noticing a distinct lag between the call being picked up and the time the caller and I can hear each other.
Often the call is connected to a volley of hello ? 's
The delay is much worse if I'm using a BT ear/head set. And the ear piece volume is atrociously quiet.

I am having the kaiser for three weeks now and I also had this problem until I did a hard reset today (soft reset did not solve the problem). I also had resco audi recorder running with storing the files on the sd card. As I also red that others have a problem with the delay ring when recieving a phone call when the ring tone is stored on the sd card, this might also have the problem (I only realized it after the hard reset when I was wondering what all those recordings meant to be).

It appears my problem has something to do with using Voice Command over BT. The problem went away after I stopped doing that.

I have cheked out you are reight when you disconnect the Resco audio rec the problem is over

Phone call sound and missed calls

I bought my quad-band Diamond last week and so far just love it! With the only exception it a perfect phone. I use it with T-Mobile US.
The issue(s) I'm having (there are two actually) is that occasionally when I answer a call or call someone they cannot hear me but I hear them. This is only fixed by soft resetting the phone.
The other issue is that it is missing calls and having SMS sending issues. In the 3 days I'm using the Diamond I've got 4 voice messages without phone ringing. And once I called myself from land line and got voice mail and my phone didn't even ring.
From my Hermes and Kaiser experience I know these are most likely radio issues. But that would require to HardSPL the phone and doesn't guarantee to resolve the problem. I still have a week to return the phone and I don't want to keep it if I have to re-flash it every few days trying to find a good radio. And even if I were to go and try another radio - there are only 2 of them out there - the .05 which I have and the .06 which is my understanding is not recommended.
Anyone else is experiencing this?

I got the same setup as you but unbranded rom as i have a htc unit rather than a network provided one - no issues here

This might explain why they can not hear me on the other side. I will make sure and check that next time this happens.
Although this doesn't explain the missed calls when the phone never rings...

absolutely no sound on incoming or outgoing calls

Not all the time, just occasionally. I will go to make a call and the screen says that it is dialing, then connected but there is no sound from the speaker.
It also happens occasionally with incoming calls, I see an incoming call and answer it and it says connected but no sound. A soft reset always fixes the problem.
I might have to reset once a day to fix this, but when I went to a nearby city I had to reset at least 6 times during the day.
I have searched the forum but have not been able to find another problem quite like it. Have I missed it?

Try installing another radio. Could help the issue.

Phone broken or ROM problem ?

I have the following problem with my Diamond: Sometimes (quite often actually), when I dial a number, the phone vibrates to tell me it has established connection, but there is no sound in the earphone. Not any sound - not free, not busy, I can't hear the person talking, nor he can hear me. The same things happens with incoming calls - I can hear the phone ringing, but when I pick-up, there's no sound in the earphone and the other person cannot hear me as well.
My software versions are: ROM: Dutty's 2.5 full
Radio: 1.05.25.BS14 (by Dutty)
SPL: OliNex 1.40 HardSPL
Now, if this is a known problem and there's an easy way to fix it, I would be very thankful. But if I have to send to the repair shop, I would probably want to return its stock software. The only problem is I don't know what was the stock software. especially the SPL, and how do I find it...
Can somebody help ?
P.S. The described problem happened twice as I was writing this post.

SJPhone when ringing

I have installed SJphone to use voip on my diamond. However everything works but how do I answer a call when it starts ringing? It seems unclear how to do that as I do not get any button to answer?

i encountered the same problem as you did.
the problem is because that SJPHONE you installed is for wm2003.
the bottom of the dialogue of an incoming call which showing the "answer" and "reject"
button won't display correctly on wm6.1.
just download the wm5 version SJPHONE from this link and install it, problem solved.
