I want to be able to put movies from DVD on my Diamond.
What's the best software to do it?
SPB Mobile DVD is one recommendation I've been given but I was wondering if there is a freeware app for doing it?
I tried Handbrake (from handbrake.fr) but I just couldn't work the software!

Hi,
What do you use to convert (any) video files to play on your Kaiser?
I have several video files (AVI, MPG, MP4) but it plays not good on Kaiser (sometimes jerky, not smooth).
What should be used for the codec, bitrate, etc ... the best setting for Kaiser.
And then play it using Windows Media or TCPMP of course.
Thanks for any suggestions
I use a program called Pocket Divx Encoder. I used these program to convert my DIVX and WMV files so they can be played backed TCPMP. I have done 300, Transformers, DOOM and more.

NOTE: I genereally convert the DVD to DIVX using Vidomi (700MB to 1000MB), then I convert with this tool.

No, but I am always willing to check out new stuff.
Thanks for the input.
I have checked SpB Mobile DVD, but it does not have BATCH feature to convert more than 1 files at once.
I like to have that feature, convert all files, go to sleep, wake up and all done
After searched, I found "Wondershare Ripper Platinum" which has BATCH feature, but I dont have any experience with it.

Looks good btw ...
Hey everyone,
Is there a good program out there you guys can recommend to convert DVD's and other movies on a computer to a size that fits well on our Tilt screens? I know ClodeDVD Mobile will work but it's a tad pricey ($55).
Are there other alternatives out there that cost less that do a good job?
Check this out. Any Video Converter. Converts all types of video formats. Also has output option for psp or Ipod, which I'm sure would also be suitable for use on a kaiser. Enjoy the open-sourced goodness:
http://lifehacker.com/software/downloads/download-of-the-day-any-video-converter-windows-218253.php
I use this one
Code:
http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net/
I use Mediacoder for most of my video transcoding needs.
http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/
More open source goodness....
"Super File Converter" is another good freebie.
One other option, rarely mentioned, is this:
If you're on a Windows PC and the file is compatible, Windows Movie Maker can be used, not only to trim and edit your vid, also to make it suitable for your Kaiser.
Once you've finished editing (or not), you go to "save movie file" and choose the "other options", one of which is "Video for Pocket PC (Full screen 218 kbps)".
Save it onto your hard drive, then drag it over to your device.

I also know that nero has something that can convert video to your phone.
I believe Nero Mobile is built in to every Nero version.
I use DVD Catalyst at http://www.pocketdvd.ca
comes in two flavors DVD Catalyst 3 and DVD Catalyst GT
Both convert DVD/Video file to PDA,PSP IPOD etc
You can download a Fully featured 7-day trial version
Coln
Are there any websites or software out there that will allow me to watch movies or download them to my tilt for watching? Also is there a way to rip a dvd and comvert it to fit on a memory card? If this is possible then whats the best size mini sd card to get? I would think the more space the better for this sort of thing right?
Check out ORB. http://orb.com
You can stream anything from your PC. Otherwise I use SPB MobileDVD for conversion. But you can do it for free with the, as always, resource heavy windows media encoder.
What is everyone using to rip a DVD to Pocket PC?

There is a free tool PocketDivXEncoder at http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net/
and the tutorial on how to use it at http://forum.videohelp.com/topic349738.html
Enjoy.
Pocket Divx doesn't work? can it nor read directly from the CD?
CloneDVD Mobile, works very well, updated often;
http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonedvd-mobile.html
I use PocketDivx, it works well..
but I've also got Aplus DVD Ripper that works as well, but it does cost money.
Try the trial version and see if it works for you
It has several options to rip the dvd to, PPC is one of the choices
from their site:
"it also able to convert almost DVD to Apple iPod MP4 files, Apple iPhone MP4 files, Apple TV MP4 files , Youtube's Video, flv video , Sony PSP MP4 files, Cell phone 3GP files, Zune files, Pocket PC files , PDA files, Xvid files etc, So you can enjoy your DVD movies in your portable media player."
it works for me, but it does cost $40

Me too - very user friendly.
SPB mob DVD+ coreplayer = driver issue solved ?
I tested at least 5 rippers.
SPb wasthe best and the fastest.
ripping a dvd to 25fps Xvid format with a bitrate of 499 results in FLAWLESS playback on coreplayer 1.2.2.
i got no lag, perfect Q image and sound.
this said, i more and more believe that the original file being converted is the main reason of having lag and blaming it on missing HW accelaration.
Don't get me wrong. 3D support will certainly still improve, but playing a full dvd seems not a problem anymore.
other tips; free enough RAm, disbale any virus scanners or other soft running in the background.
This is the coolest bit of software about for WM devices.
Convert any dvd avi flv, anything to watch on your mobile.
I made these two vids on my Kaiser and then used SPB DVD to convert and send up to YouTube, check the quality and the framerate, keeping up with that rapid hand movement is difficult!

Anyone else used this software to convert files back from the phone?
