Where is the "owner name" in the registry?

hello!
i would like to create my own reg settings and performance settings .cab file with cab manager.
i have some registry keys (exported with tcmd), but i cannot find owner name..
does anybody know it?
also i am searching for "hungary - regional settings & 00h:00m:00s format"
thanks,
pulyka
Try searching through your current registry for your name (or whatever info you have under the owner section.)
i tried it, but unfortunately it did not helped
thx anyway
\\HKCU\ControlPanel\Owner
Owner is binary and will contain EVERYTHING. Try filling it out then exporting that key. That's what I did to create my own personal information cab file.
thankyou!
i will try it tomorrow!

"Mobile Registry Editor" is meant to be run from your PC while your phone is connected through ActiveSync.

sorry if this question is already asked but i have try to search on forum but i'm not found
1. You can use Resco Registry extension for Resco Explorer. There you can export some registry entries and import them later.
2. You can create standalone cab with your registry settings. If your cab will delete after installation, set it as readonly.
3. You can use Registry Workshop software for PC to manipulate with registry
4. You can use Mortscript

[Q] Converting SPB to vcf files / Importing SPB without Kies

Gurus,
I recently switched to CM7 on my SGS I9000 International. Unfortunately there is no Kies mode in CM7 for SGS to connect to Kies.
Now that I have lost all my contacts, the only backup I have is an SPB file.
My contacts only imports vcf files and neither have I been able to find anything that imports SPB files or converts SPB files to vcf files.
Anyone can help ? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....!!

If u have all your contacts in kies, export as a csv file and then import into Google contacts. If that doesn't import correctly, export as VCF, import to the windows 7 contacts (drag and drop all vcf files) then export from windows contacts as a csv file and then import to Google contacts.

Flash back to samsung, restore from kies. Then you could either sync contacts to google or use a backup app from market (also for sms, ...) or export from inside the contact app from samsung.

Thanks, if you want to merge the multiple vcf files which where create open a command prompt in the vcf's directory (Shift + Right click > Open command prompt in this directory) then type "copy *.vcf All.vcf" without the "". Now you just have to import the All.vcf to Google Contacts or your Android device.
Open in Kies?
Hi,
People seem to be having luck with that method, however could you be more specific about how to 'open the smb file in Kies' because I can't find a way to open the file using that software. 'Kies cannot open this file type.
I'm using the Mac version of Kies if that makes a difference?
Thanks in advance
Update
Hi again,
Just to let any Mac users know, the software is very different on PC and allows you to export as vcf. The Mac version does not allow this.
Hi there, I had some broken black screen on Galaxy j5, somehow I backed up files with usb cable and smartswitch. Since this is not the first time Im doing this I know how it should work, but now I have a problem. Backup contat file is .spbm, not .spb as it should be. I googled and couldnt find any solution for spbM, and kies wont recognize it. What should I do now, I have backup file but it unuseful.
Hello there, and how you make that with spbm file?
I opened Smart Switch, connected another Samsung phone, selected restore, selected the file for restore maually (the spbm file) and now see a button to save contacts in csv format

A quick Q about transferring sms

I have my old nokia 5800 and I want to transfer all my SMS to galaxy s. I have synced 5800 with nokia pc suite and all the SMS and contacts are there too. I found this app "SMS migrator" for android that does the job but where in my pc can I find the file that has my SMS so I can put that to my galaxy sd-card and use the migrator?
Thanks for your help in advance!( yes I know how to "thank" ) Btw it's windows7..
Hi,
You need to download and install 2 programs:
1). h**p://www.simail.si/nokia2androidsms/
You install this on your PC, basically this will convert the Nokia file to an xml file and you transfer this file to your Android device after you have installed the second program.
2). h**p://android.riteshsahu.com/apps/sms-backup-restore/
You install this apk on your Android and it will create a backup and restore folder, you transfer the xml file from your PC to this folder.
3). Open the SMS BU restore program on your Android, select import and your done.
Hope this helps.
Regards, khan3.
I have tried that already, it doesn't find the file it is supposed to convert -.-
That's why I asked for the location of the file so I ca drag it to the Program so it converts it...
I also found this mobiledit phone copier but it requires paid version of the program to do the conversion to XML-format...
Thanks anyway, hope you could help me a lil more
Nevermind, I finally got it after struggling for couple of hours XD now I can finally start enjoying my SGS! I had too new version of OVI so the nokia2android program couldnt find the file, I had to delete the OVI and search for older OVI and it worked
Glad you are now sorted.
If it helps anyone else this is what I did:
I am running Windows 7, have Nokia OVI suite v3.0.0.290 installed and used OVI to create a backup.
I created a new folder on my D drive and called it N2A which contains the main Nokia2AndroidSMS.exe + sqlite2.dll, when you run the program it automatically finds the appropriate OVI file (.NBU), converts it to .xml format and places it in the same folder as Nokia2AndroidSMS (in my case N2A).
Actually you don't have to locate the nokia backup file or drag it. Nokia2Android does it automatically, you just select datastore1 from the drop down box and select your imei.
Then you connect your SGS to your computer, wait a few seconds and you will get the AutoPlayer window pop up with GT-I9000 shown, select open device to view files, double click on phone, double click on the folder SMSBackupRestore, then drag the xml file from your computer to this folder, Now press the SGS home key, then press the applications icon, navigate to and open the SMS Backup & Restore program and select the restore option, this will now import your messages, to exit the program just press the return key a few times to return to your home screen.
If you want to backup your messages, open the program and select the backup option, the file will be saved in the SMSBackupRestore folder in xml format.
In the program settings you can change the message date format - default is java date representation (including millisecond) - or time and date in readable format of the time when the message was sent/received, you can also change the naming convention for the saved xml file.
The xml file can be opened and edited!
Some of the xml file fields are:
type – Sent = 2, Received = 1
read – Read Message = 1, Unread Message = 0
status – None = -1, Complete = 0, Pending = 32, Failed = 64
For those interested in interpreting the java date representation you can check out epochconverter.com.
Hope this little contribution helps any one having the same problems.

Thanks for this useful thread
but I don't know why it's not working with me
I downloaded Ovi suite (the one I could found on Nokia site is v3.1.1.85, is it necessary to use v3.0.0.290?)
I used it for sync (& even making a backup) & all the messages are synchronized
I disconnected the mobile & closed the ovi suite from the notifications area
But when I use the nokia2android program I get a small xml file with no messages in it (count=0)
even when I drag the MDataStore.db3 file from:
C:\Users\*********\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase
I get the same empty file!
any help please??
BTW, Sync Nokia N81.. & working on windows 7 too
