I tried to download Mobile Registry Editor onto my phone, it gives me an error message saying that:
File or assembly name 'System.windows.forms,Version=1.0.5000.0,Culture=N eutral,Publickey Token=B77A5C561934E089' or one of its dependencies, was not found.
what does this mean and how can i fix it?
Thank you
"Mobile Registry Editor" is meant to be run from your PC while your phone is connected through ActiveSync.

Hi,
sorry for disturbing, I try to use phm registry editor on my diamond, but it didn't install, after some tries I try to install strng version but it didn't work fine. would you please help me
The workaround is to download the appropriate CAB for your device CPU type from the PHM.lu Download Center. If you’re using Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6 (WM5 or WM6), select the Pocket PC 2000,2003 (ARM/PXA) option and download the regedit.Mrln_ARM CAB file. If you have installed the Desktop Installer version, you can grab the CAB file from the installed folder in “Program Files” too. Then copy the regedit.Mrln_ARM.CAB file to the PPC/Windows Mobile device via ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center or Windows Explorer, and put the CAB file at anywhere including storage card. Launch File Explorer, and click on the CAB file with stylus, and then follow the instruction on screen to install the FHM Registry Editor. Note that you should answer Yes to security warning, and you can install it on either device itself or on memory card. After installed, sers can access and run PHM Registry Editor from Start -> Programs.
i use Resco Register Editor and i want update (save) my original registry data after a Hard Reset. I did ...but it fail
i selected "my registry" then i choose -> export and i saved the file like: name.reg
when i tried to restore the registry i used ---> import and the file "name.reg" i saved before but i got error message , is says ..is not a valid registry file
someone had the same problem ?
I've been trying to install garmin (exe file) but it wouldnt execute. I keep on getting that error message. What am i missing?
The exe isn't for running on a PPC, it is an installer meant to run on your PC.
I recently got an HTC Touch Diamond and am finding it to be frustratingly slow! Luckily, I found this forum, but I'm having issues getting started with the tweaks.
I've tried installing PHM registry editor, and although there are several posts here that state it should work fine on the diamond I cannot get it to install. With my phone hooked up to my PC and activesync running I install PHM to my PC just fine, but when the activesync install screen pops up, it does not list PHM as a program to install to my phone...thus indicating that it is not a compatible program. I am using the pocket PC version of PHM found here:
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/
What gives?
You could download the cab installer which you can find in the dropdown list on the download page. Select "Pocket PC 2002.2003 (ARM/PXA)" and copy the file to your phone. Then start explorer on your phone. Browse to the installer and execute by clicking on it.
That worked perfectly. Thank you!
Thx, going to use it too

Click to collapse
Where is the dropdown list on the download page at? I want to download phm reg for my htc diamond also.
thanks

I know that someone already posted files for removing keys from registry but that method could be useful too.
So, when you're trying to reinstall hotfix it normally says "Incorrect version". Click OK, and then go in file explorer to "My device" main folder. There should be file called Install.cab - this is the actual hotfix. And by clicking it you should be able to install it even if *.exe file said "Incorrect version"
You can apply that trick to other hotfixes too.
