scrolling speed - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi,
When I slide my finger up and down over my contact list, it scrolls too far and too fast.
I read about some tweaks but mostly they talk about speeding up things...
Any help is welcome
Thanks

Completely agree, the scroll speed is way too fast in the contact list... there has to be a way to slow it down.

I have the same problem while scrolling through my contacts. It seems that other apps do not have this issue.
can anybody help?

so, I understand there is no way to change the speed......
Strange

Why dont you scroll with your finger over the letters? It's more easy.
Or enable "jog wheel scrolling" in Advanced config. Then you can scroll with your jog wheel.

Would be a great idea I think....
However, Where to find it in advanced config?
Thanks

Diamond Smart Touch > contacts scrolling

sorry, don't find it...
All I have is, in "Touchflo"-map the item scrolling, which is already enabled...
don't find any map: Diamond Smart Touch in the advanced config program.
JP

you have to install boinger66 advance config to get that options in advance config.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406681

just installed the vab file.... THIS IS SUPER
With some adjustments AND the new ROM the Diamond is getting just what I wanted..
I wasn't very happy when I started using the diamond in the beginning... had to compete with my sons Iphone, lot of strange things happening... but now lately..... WOW!
(I hope there will be new rom uopdates in the future...)
Where to get some more explantion about all the features of this cab file and the advances config stufff
Again... thank you all for your great help

Hi

HTC Scrolling from ASerg

More shortly, has bothered me touch a cube, and here scrolling worthy alternative I have not found it. Here has decided to leave only scrolling.
It is simple HTC Scrolling (the library is taken from the latest insertion Elf).
Only for WM6.
Now also with a sound.
Can anyone report that this cab works?
I checked, works as in HTC Touch.
well...it crashed my Hermes and i need to hard reset it....=_=

I tested on Herald
Aserg it works with wizard thanks. But the touch scroll feeling is not as good as it is in touch enabled rom.
Thanks, i made thread for you in the wizard forum do check HERE
How to increase sensitivity of the screen? It is possible to try to change value in the register, for example, up to 3000:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Drivers \TouchPanel \ PressureThreshold = 9812
If you will pick up correct value, it is possible to make separate cab for wizard
For wizard try with such value if sensitivity will be good I shall make separate cab.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\TouchPanel]
"PressureThreshold"=dword:2dc1
Can someone describe what exacly it does?? Is this app work like efrost's FTouchFlo???
It is taken from HTC TouchFlo.
Works on HTC Artemis (o2 Orbit)
Increase in sensitivity TouchPanel (It would be good to pick up for each device):
thanks very much now where can i find a rom without touch setting? seems all of th eroms that have been release is touch based
i crossed my fingers and try'it on my HTC Titan. And it did not work. touch screen stop working, so i remove the app and all was normal after. well was nice to try ;-)
Now also with a sound.
Thank you so much for this. Seems to work perfectly on my wing.
It would be good to leave here the responses. The information would be very useful to others.
ASerg, with sound it is working much better. Thanks Again.

Well... Tried it on my Herald (the last version with the sound). Didn`t like it - it`s too slow, i mean the reaction of the prog for the finger scrolling. Also, sometimes, it confuses scrolling directions and starts up really late (like 2-3 sec after opening and start scrolling Contacts, i.e.). But I liked the sound, it`s very useful for blind scrolling - in car, i.e..
Deleted, and went back to FtouchFlo.
How to uninstall it
Hello,
I'm using SPB Pocket Plus for scrolling and it does not work very well with your "HTC Scrolling" application.
It is possible to uninstall it ? If so - how ?

The HTC CIO may be curled up in a corner crying now...
crying?
i think he has tears in his eyes from laughing.
why do a lot of people always insist that older is better.
touchflo 3d has way more options and is much fingerfriendlier than the old version.
so just a tip: do not use your stylus, but use your fingers. you will find that using the touch flo 3d really is a lot easier
looks beautiful runs terrible
i gave up! touchflow 3D, simply too slow and couldnt catch up with my finger.
will leave it for showing off when demo to friends only...
Yeah, it's not easier at all. It's much more work to get to the media player now, where as I could assign it to a hardware key on the Kaiser. Navigating the Kaiser with keyboard mnemonics was definitely faster and easier. TouchFLO 3D requires so much more finger/hand/eye movement in order to access the same information that would have been already on your screen right away.
I also hate having to scroll through all of the Cities in the US in order to get to Yonkers, NY for the weather. It was way easier when I could just type the name of the City in the HTC Home plug in. These iPhone-style lists are horribly frustrating to use.
I, think the regular touchflo is simpler to use because it is exactly that (simple) & boring... a few tabs and thats it. However TouchFlo3D has much more options, looks sweet, touch friendly & interactive; the fact that it takes more time to getting use to or figuring out does not bother me at all.
With this new plugin I rarely see the windows UI and I think that makes a huge difference, at least for me it does.
Another point to consider is how you use the device or what for? I use it primarily for the web, weather, texting & GPS & all of these are extremely easy for me to get to. As far as the extra scrolling to choose a specific city under weather should not be in issue, I set my city & a couple others in no-time when I got my phone and that's it no more scrolling.
I remember some time ago nokia, samsung, SE, mortorola etc all the big names done some stuidies and figured out the max number of key presses it should take to get to ANY menu option. It seems with all this fancy scrolling lists and interfaces thats lost now.
Even in an iphone - which you may hate, but is probably the best touch interface - its not exactly fast to get to things.

I've said this before - in experiments comparing the iPhone and the old TouchFLO, it was faster on average to get to things using TouchFLO.

Well, the devices are aimed at completely different markets. HTC generally aim their devices with keyboards at business users, whereas the Touch Diamond is a high-end general consumer product.

There are now tweaks that will speed up TouchFLO 3D quite a lot. Search this forum.
so......
will the old type of htc home plug in work with diamond?
i too was happy using it (on my trinity)
would be nice to have the choice
with the tabs you had people..weather apps...and more
so does anyone know before i bugger my diamond up
I think TouchFlow 3D is great, easy to use and looks very nice.
The only thing I'm missing are my tasks on the Todayscreen. On my Touch I used them as a reminder for certain things, but when you don't see them right away when turning on the phone they're useless.
I installed a Version of HTC Home Plugin earlier today on my dad's diamond and well... i guess it just isn't fit for a VGA Display. It is very small and the porportions are messed up. Anyone already tried to get HTC Home to work or knows of any VGA Version maybe?
I used to use Touch Commander on my Asus P750, as far as I'm concerned it's an exact copy which will work in VGA mode, as the P750 also had a VGA screen.
http://www.touch-commander.com/
But then again, with Dutty's ROM and the registry tweaks, TF3D runs pretty smooth.

Alright, I have had this issue too. Here is a cab for the Home Plugin for VGA devices (works on my TP).
I AM NOT TAKING CREDIT FOR THIS, JUST SHARING THE .CAB I FOUND SOMEWHERE ON THIS FORUM LOOKING FOR THIS. MADE BY PJC
Hope this helps out those who need it.
EDIT: For some reason could not upload file, nonetheless, I found the download, click on the link and download. http://rapidshare.com/files/128745613/PJC_HTCHome.cab

TouchFlo ...

Hi,
Right been doing some digging around the forum to try to get to grips with how to use Touchflo on my Kaiser (Vodaphone v1615 WM6.1 build), but haven't really found an answer. I can see an icon in settings for Touchflo that just says enable sound when scrolling, but i don't get any other options to enable it.
How do i enable default HTC (cube) touchflo on my Kaiser? or is it not part of the Tytn2 standard build? I have tried Ftouchflo which works, but am after looking at default HTC stuff before looking at other implementations etc as the ftouchflo stuff didnt quite work as i wanted.
Thanks in advance

Right been having a bit of a play...and think i need some further help lol. At the moment I haven't installed the HTC Cube (found links for it elsewhere on the forum) and am just playing with the finger scrolling. Out of the box i can't scroll in contacts or calendar etc but have installed Opera 9.5 and that works a treat...not sure if thats part of Touchflo support or anything .
I then installed FtouchSL (Trial version) and get scrolling working (though it says it will disable Touchflo scrolling) in contacts, but not calendar (i.e left right to go through days etc). Then Opera 9.5 does not work with finger scrolling at all.
I have now removed FTouchSl and wondering how i get scrolling to work with inbuilt Touchflo? I would like to be able to finger scroll through contacts and calendar for example.
Cheers

Leave off the FTouchSL for now. Find and install schaps advanced config and set make sure TouchFlo is enabled in there. My contants works with Finger Scrolling. My current calender is TouchCal and that is already FF (Finger Friendly) you can try it for nowt. Opera I think has it's own touch scrolling.
Also try pocket CM as a FF contacts app. Or install HTC Random Access, this adds FF letters into normal contacts.

Thanks Dave will give that a try

Any program that enables wheel scroll in Touchflo 3d?

I want to be able to scroll through touchflo 3d with the capacitive wheel but can't seem to find any programs that will let me do that. I tried Diamond tweaks and Diamond Scroll but none of those programs habve teh option i want. I would try GScroll but ive been hearing about alot of crashing problems.
I don't think there is. I know people have tried and failed. It seems that TF3D is hardcoded that way, but who knows. Someone might make a breakthrough! I know Da_G is the master of hex editing
man... i used to have a program that allowed this function. It worked PERFECTLY, but i had to hard-reset my phone, and forgot to back that up. I'll try to get in touch w/ the person who gave it to me, and see if I can help you out!

Some questions about HTC diamond's interface

Hi everyone, this is my first post but I'm using this site as a infinite source of information since I bought my htc diamond.
I have 2 little questions anyway:
Is there a way to install a skine which makes the start menu of windows like the windoes 6.5's 1? That dropdown bar is very ugly in my hopinion.
I tried home 2 of pointui and I've been astonished of his rapidity and precision, it was much better than touchflo. Contacts and pages slide 100 times better.
Is there any way to improve sliding of pages and lists like in that UI? At least I know it is possible!
Thanks

You could try some other UI's like SPB Mobile Shell or Point UI like you mentioned and see if those work for you. As far as the Honeycomb start menu of 6.5, I don't know if there is a way to alter the 6.1 start menu to look like that. You'll probably have to unlock and flash a 6.5 rom for that.
Try some of the tweaks posted in the Diamond Tweaks Sticky to improve scrolling. They do work!
Thanks for the advices.
I Solved my problem by installing more efficent apps like iContact and Thumbcalendar and by making them default!
If I can ask an other question, I have the brand of my operator instead of Opera logo in browser section of touchflo, is there any way to remove it?

Are you referring to the large icon that shows when you click the internet tab? It's usually a Globe. Or are you talking about the splash screen when Opera starts?
