lost facedownmutering - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

working with SKTools and other software i've lost the function facedownmutering. I've tried to reset the function by the same software(s) but the issue is always present. any suggestion? thanx

Need to make the below reg key change:
HKLM\Software\HTC\PHONE : FaceDownMuteRing: change value to "1"

Hi! Thanks for the answer. I had already done so, but phone mutes only after a lot of rings......

I know that this problem happens on some ROM's. Works fine for me using the Swift ROM.
There is a reg key for the Gsensor which also does the job:
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCSensor\GSensor\PhonecallMute = 1
Try that and let us know if it works.

FaceDownMuteRing problem
my facedownmutering is on 1 but does not work like I do?

When I applied the GSensor setting and rang myself I got a partial result.
I lost my face down mute feature when I upgraded my stock rom to the next generation.
So when I called my phone it rang and I then turned it over.
The GSensor setting took effect and muted the call. However, it didn't divert the call by default - the incoming call still was 'ringing'.
All the best,
Sam.

I believe there has been some discussion of this in the developing and hacking section of XDA. I would suggest running a search it might help you find a solution to your problem. But a good place to start would be there. I noticed I had a delay not only on my Hermes but my Wizard as well!
If you find any solution to this, pls post it here.
Thanx
ring immediately
don't know if it the same. But for XDAII, Himalaya, qtek2020 (WM6-WM5)
the trick is a registry key to be changed. don't know if it's valid also for TYN
but I have a WM6 rom on my XDA and it works. try it out
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\
change value of Script key from apw3r in apw0r and should ring immediately.
sometimes happens that the value after a soft reset turn back to 3
so cancel the key and set it new (as a default key)
two different key will appear (default and script with same apw0r)
value zero set the sec to wait befor ringing (Answer Play Wait 0 Ring: apw0r)
Tweaking that reg key is ONE solution...
another possible solution is that u need a new simcard, the other possibility has to do with the polling time of your cell operator -> i ve posted some details in a thread in this section!
If you would like more control over how your device rings/vibrates/flashes its LEDs on events, you can can change the Script values of these events. For example, for an incoming call performing 'activate device, play ringtone, wait 3 seconds, repeat':
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Script = "apw3r" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
From ppcaddict, so j think that 3 isn't the delay ringing time.
Bye
apw3r : only ringtone
av0pw3r : vibrate and ringtone
v3w3apw3r : vibrate then ring
Well, these values are change if you go to the setting of the ringtone
This would appear to be a "feature" common to all HTC wm phones (and maybe beyond - I wouldn't know).
There is the option in a program called Tweaks 2k2 to allow you to disable the 3s delay. I can confirm this works fine on my kaiser.
May someone post the reg key setted by tweaks2k2?.
Bye

Possible Fix when Backlight Patch doesn't work
Like many others, I have applied the Backlight patch and experienced NO improvement after the Tilt is turned off and on.
I have loaded PHM's RegEdit and had a look at other registry settings and found a solution that works on my Tilt.
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER / ControlPanel / Backlight you will find a key called "LockLevel", my value for this key was initially 1. I changed it to 0, and since then, whatever setting I use for the backlight timeout stays put even after numerous power cycles and days of use.
Would someone else who is familiar and comfortable with RegEdit try this and confirm this so we can verify it is not just isolated on my Tilt?

I am using the same PHM's , and my value is set at "0" already....
yes, Mine is also set at 0.
I cant believe that HTC would release a patch that doesnt work!
Anyone else had luck?
Setting it from 0 to 1
"Un-dims" your backlight. Setting it from 1 to 0 makes it bright thats all I could figure out
It's a known problem with the 6.1 ROMS, although not everyone experiences it. Even the stock AT&T ROM had it. An official fix for it was released not long ago. It's available for download here: http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=67&cat=1&dl_id=269
It doesn't wipe your phone, so it's safe to do without having to set everything back up.
backlight works, but scroll wheel does not

This worked fine and fixed the backlight issue on my stock AT&T Tilt ROM, but it seems to have screwed up my scroll wheel function. Now my scroll wheel only turns up/down the phone volume. I can't seem to get it to do anything else in any other program.

I haven't experienced that problem. What ROM are you using?
Finally!
Click Here for the .cab that fixed my unit. I got it off the ATT forum.
NOTE to all... Even this fix did not solve my problem until I checked the boxes to time the backlight. I like the backlight feature on all the time. If I don't want to see the screen, I turn it off.
I Had The Same Problem Too, But Then I Realized That Whenever I Disabled The Password Option In Settings It Went Back To Normal And Stayed At Whatever Timing I Set It To. The Only Thing About It Is That I Cant Use The Password Option In Settings. Unless I Was To Disable It Everytime I Used The Phone For More Than A Few Minutes At A Time...
I Have The At And T Tilt With The Shipped Wm6.1 Rom.
this will help
with your backlight problem
It helped me and then-some
I've tried all suggestions (except registry edits) and nothing works for mine! I like to keep my display on for GPS functions, but mine dims whether it's on battery or external power. The link for the cab in the AT&T forum no longer works, so I don't know whether that was similar to the HTC fix (which also doesn't work for me).
Since I have yet to try this, what program should I use to edit my registry? I've never done it, so I don't know what I need to do it. I also noticed someone posted these registry changes in the AT&T forum:
- change HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\ACTimeoutTemp value to your desired AC timeout in seconds. I set mine to 120 (2 min).
- change HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\BatteryTimeoutTemp value to your desired Battery timeout in seconds. I set mine to 60 (1 min).
- change HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\Locklevel\Locklevel to 0xFFFFFFFFF (this may also be just FFFFFFFF is your reg editor allows direct hex entries).
Note: With this change, if you wish to change your dimming timeout, you'll have to go back into the registry and update the settings.
Does this look like it would work? This is driving me absolutely nuts and I am this close to reverting to 6.0, even though my device was shipped with 6.1.
Thanks for the help, everyone.
EDIT: Since my search for this answer brought up too many different variables, I'd wanted to pose the question here, as it pertains to this issue... Will upgrading to a 6.5 ROM solve this backlight issue more simply?

sms not receiving till i turn on screen

hi, i find a lot of the time my sms messages are not coming through till i activate the screen from sleep. it does not happen all the time but a lot. has anyone else had this problem/ know why its happening?
thanks
r u using the 'Disable screen-wake up on new MSG' from the XperiaTweak?
i had the same problem as you before and after i uncheck this from the tweak its seem to solve the issue.
u might like to try this if u r also using the XperiaTweak.
thanks. that solves one problem and makes another one. i will send a message to the tweak guy and see if he can fix it in the next update.
thanks for the help mate
No problem...
So it solve your new MSG issue?
Anyway i just post a reply to nelshh...waiting for his reply....
Shouldn't "Disable screen-wake up on new MSG" disable the new msg screen wake-up? I think the function of this setting is the same that you are referring to as a bug Or am I wrong?
i think the main issue is that maybe some of us interpret this as that when u check this option, it only disable the screen from waking up but the phone would still alert (vibrate/LED flashing) when there a new text message.
So maybe that y we figure it as bug.....my bad....
I am also having the same issue.
I have XperiaTweak installed and have the "disable screen wakeup on enw msg" checked.
Before I hard reset my phone, i had not problems with this function. If i got a new sms, my phone would play its jingle and start flashing its LED's. Now, the phone does absolutely nothing until I hit the power switch to wake up the phone, and only then plays its jingle and flashes its lights. The sms date stamp will tell me that I got the sms a while ago but it just doesn't alert me at the time. Any suggestions?
If you've got the "disable screen wakeup on new msg" option checked, surely that is what it will do? DISABLE the wake up function? So my suggestion would be to uncheck this option.
Also, if the problem persists, it can be sometimes be rectified by a registry fix.
Go to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL and change the value of "DisableSMSWakeUpEvent" to 0.

VoIP and sleep during calls -> no call possible

Hi folks,
thought i write down my problem since i've been trying for quite a few months now to get rid of this problem:
First of all i need to tell that i am using dutty's v4 rom. I did not have the problem at all with some other roms, but i'd like to keep on using Dutty v4 since it is very fast, non-laggy with manila3D, and rock-stable.
So here is the deal:
After setting up my VoIP account, tweaking WLAN to keep attached to the AccessPoint even when the Diamond goes into sleep - I managed to make a VoIP test call to my provider via WLAN.
Everything works just fine - until the device falls into sleep after a couple of seconds.
Annoying thing is that it perfectly works with normal GSM calls even when it goes to sleep, but not with VoIP calls.
Not that i needed the display to work during the call - but audio as well as recorded audio - which gets lost as soon as the Diamond falls into sleep. I have to reactivate the display to hear/speak with the other person. So after i've done that it takes a random time until it falls asleep again. This takes about 2-10 seconds.
I've tried everything - DiamondTweak, Advanced Config, nosleep!!.cab, registry tweaks - nothing works. After i had that problem the first time with Dutty's rom v3.4, i also wrote him while ago. He fixed this issue in v3.7. Somebody got an idea what he did?
Now that v4 is out, the problem sometimes persists. It worked fine just after flashing the rom, then it suddenly stopped working after 3 Weeks. Now i made a hard reset, first thing afterwards i did: install all the voip stuff needed and it didn't work from the beginning.
It seems to be a problem affecting certain types of roms and their configuration, but i couldn't find out by now what's the exact matter. Even if the screen would turn off, but audio keeps on just to talk to each other (if i remember right, the Diamond is a phone too? this would be awesome!
After spending days with searching for it, the ultimate solution hasn't been posted on this forum so far. So if someone knows what to do about this, even if it means to recook a rom - please tell me!
Please read what i already tried before giving answers, and thanks in advance for any real help!

Screen Does Not Go Off During Call

It is strange: Although I think that in the past the phone did perform as expected (yet I am not 100% sure about this), the thing is that my screen now does not go off during a call. I tried adding the two registry values that I read somewhere are needed for this feature, namely:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight]
"LightSensorPollingEnable"=dword:00000001
but to no avail. It is strange, because this feature is supposed to be enabled by default. I even thought that maybe the Call Autorecord by Vito Audio Notes might be the culprit, but after disabling it the problem persisted...
Any ideas?
By the way, I have a 1.39.405.2 WWE ROM, and my Radio is 4.47.25.01.

Thanks for the suggestion of the excellent Touch InCall Screen Tweak, mate. It solved my problem once and for all...
I had used the search feature before posting, but I probably did not use the correct keywords as this result never landed to me.
