Hi,
I'm really pleased with my HTC TD, but now the speaker audio have become very scratching and distorted when talking to people.
The phone are in perfect condition and I've only added new wallpapers and installed TomTom 7.
It's also been upgraded to the newest Rom and Radio via HTC E-Club.
Have anyone seen or experienced something like this?

hello again everyone!!!
i just got a set of blueant x5i stereo bluetooth headphones yesterday... they look cool and feel cool... call quality is great...
but the mp3 sound through my tmobile wing is HORRIBLE!!! i tried the headphones on my co-worker's t-mobile dash and they sound awesome... i can't figure out why they sound so muddy and crackly on my phone... is there a setting somewhere that i am missing??? perhaps a firmware upgrade for my phone that would solve this issue???
any help or insight would be greatly appreciated...
thanks in advance,
bennie
How does playback sound through the included (if any headset) or through the loud speaker? If it sounds good (normal) through those then its most likely a blue tooth problem. When you sync it up are you around anything that could possibly interfere with it during the sync process? There have been a few times when I am making a call (rare) but it wont get a good connection and everything will sound like I am under water or worse. (more with my old phone having a crappy radio)
If you have sync'd the two a fair ammount of times and its always the same sounding quality might look on the T-Moble Wings forum (this is the HTC s730) and see if other users have had the same problem. I wouldnt see it having a bad HTC driver, but it might not be very compatable with that headset?
its hard to judge sound the the loud speaker... it sounds bad no matter what...
when hard wired through the headphones that came with the unit, the mp3 playback is fine... its not crackly like this headset is... i tried resyncing a few times as far away from everything as i could so there would be no interference... i never sync my music files though bluetooth so i know that the files aren't getting corrupted... they are going through usb...
i think it has something to do with the phone...
Double check the compatability on the headset, if it plays fine through the USB headphones, and the headset sounds perfectly fine on another phone...
What version is the heatset? blue tooth 2 or whatever the newer version is? I know the phone supports it but something else might have changed? Just something to look into.
Aside from a firmware flash or some software bug I cant think of anything else If the compatability show's up that it should work might try calling HTC's support line?
i contacted blueant before purchase and they assured me the headset is compatible... also tmobile claims that its compatible as well... they even have tmobile packaed oem boxes for this particular headset... the hardware protocols also line up... technically, everything should work!!!
i already contacted htc with regards to this issue... this was their reply:
Thank you for your inquiry in regards to Bluetooth headset stereo issue.
Ben, I know how important it is for you to have the bluetooth headset working properly, Unfortunately there is no updates or patch available for the T-mobile wing to fix the issue, although T-mobile might have a ROM upgrade. The reason why the T-mobile dash had no issues with the headset is because it has different drivers for bluetooth support. Look into possibly upgrading the device rom to try and resolve the issue, otherwise you'll need to purchase another headset which is compatible with the device.
i looked into updating the rom and it appears that i have the newest version: 4.10.531.3 WWE from march 15th 07... i wasnt' able to find anything newer... does someone else know of a newer version for the hera110???
Hmm, might be something in T-Mobiles software that is nerfing your set... Not sure of what though...
I have a AT&T Tilt running Sleuth 3.0 ROM, with its Radio.
When I'm in call, the person on the other end sometimes doesn't hear me.
It's like the auto cut-off ambience/background noise is working too much, especially when the person background is so noisy, he can hear nothing as if my mic is muted.
This happens very bad if I'm on speaker phone, when I'm driving I put my tilt on the center box, the person on the other hand can hear choppy voices of mine.
Anyone experience this?
It's hard to explain, but basically it's like the old handfree cordless phone on speaker, with auto cut-off ambience feature.
Do I need to upgrade the Radio?
Mine is running 1.64.08.21
Thanks all
I have the same problem. I have 3 At&t tilts phone, 2 of them use Diamond V10, and one is V9. Yet, all have the same problem to you. I hope that if anybody can solve this problem. Thanks so much.

Hi, I would appreciate if someone could shed some light on this problem
I get no sound from my Kaiser at Random.
This problem began to happen with my Old RaphaelIII ROM..I do not know which SPL or what radio I had before. (But Im sure it was the one Recommended on the thread.) The phone had run with that ROM for about 6 Months without any sound issues.
I upgraded to ROM Ultimate-v2 because of the sound issue. The symptoms are the same with the new ROM as the old one. I don't think the problem is isolated to the new ROM, that's why I did not post this on the Ultimate-v2 Thread.
I have left the phone playing an mp3 tune on a table, and the sound comes on and off by itself for no apparent reason. the problem includes both speakers. And when I make a phone call I can't hear the other person and they can't hear me neither. The phone does vibrate consistently tho.
Thanks.
Btw Someone here is having the same problem

Edit:
I tested the phone with a bluetooth headset while the sound was gone. I was able to hear and speak fine trough it.
Edit:
I installed another rom and sound is working fine now. but everything else is crappy. this phone sucks.
no sound randomly
Hi there,
I have the same problem.
Mine started after the htc official upgrade from 6.0 to 6.1.
since then intermitted sound during calls (other side can't hear me, i hear them perfectly)
still searching forums on what to do.
spl:3.34dave
radio: varies on ROM (recommended radio)
I have a problem like that. No solution just posting so I can find this post later.
Usually happens to me when I am listing to music and I pull out my head phones.
Speaker sound goes out and when I plug back in the headphones they are also dead.
Ear speaker on calls still works.
Was using WMP to listen to music but switch to S2P a few days ago.
Has not happened since the switch but that may be a coincidence.
Stock 6.1 with ATT stuff stripped.
I have a similar problem to crowbar. Some calls the person on the other end of the line can hear me, some calls they can't. I can hear them perfectly. It' been happening for a few months now. I'm on stock Orange 6.1 (obtained from here). Just bought a cheap Samsung phone to use for now, until I can, hopefully, find a solution. I'm ythinking of trying some of the 6.5 ROMS to see if that cures it.
ROM 3.28.61.0.WWE
Radio 1.65.16.25
I just switched from a moment to the hero on our third line that our friend uses.
Had many problems with the moment. So far only one with the hero, but its a huge problem!
Sound quality when using bluetooth is from poor to bad. Caller on other end either cannt hear me or I cannt hear them. So far this is true with all 4 of my bluetooth headsets. These same headsets work with no problem on diffrent phones. So its not the headset.
Is there a known bluetooth issue on the hero? I searched the forums but cannt find anything. I know this could be a simply a bad refurb problem. However if there is a custom rom or some other way to fix this problem I would like to try that before having sprint send another phone out.
Does anyone have issuses with bluetooth on a stock hero?
Any fixes? Or custom rom / kernels that will fix this problem?
I have 2 htc one's which both have the same issue
I am running stock ROM 4.2.2 and i am facing the following issue:
When using a bluetooth headset, my voice is not heard in a good quality to whomever i speak to...
the voice sounds very low quality and is not clear at all, in comparison to an HTC One X or an HTC desire S i have compared to.
Things i have tried with no luck:
1. Used other bluetooth headsets, same result
2. Tried the new revolution 4.3.3
3. Tried nearly all Radios even the latest which is included on 4.3.3 (4A.19xxxxxx)
but no luck, any similar issues or proposals??
Same with my HTC One.
Bluetooth headsets: Parrot Zik and SHB9001WT.
Poor sound quality during a call but very good quality for playing sound.
I've tested the stock rom and several custom roms but always the same.
PLEASE HELP!!! The Parrot one is a too good headset, to use only the half.
