Hi.
I figured out this solution and hopefulle this should work for everyone.
1. Configure your activesync with any dummy server name
2. Make the sync to Manual schedule
3. Reset.
Or you can do this, find it on Polaris tweak and tricks thread by Mahmood
when i have the Polaris
"To keep Active Sync from popping up at different times for no apparent reason:
You will need to go into the registry.
1.Download any program TASK Manager/Resco Explorer/Memaid etc.
2.Find the NOTIFICATIONS menu (or Notified Programs).
3.Find <repllog.exe> it will have several types listed. Find the one that says<AppRunAfterTimeChange>
4.Highlight this prompt.
5.You will need to Disable this. The only time Activesync should start now is when you sync to your PC."
I used the TASK Manager and it works perfect when i disable the repllog.exe
Active sync dont bother me no more

I am using an S730 since December 21st and after playing around I still have some issues unresolved, see if anyone has ideas.
1- How do I download multiple email account at the same time (manually) instead of having to open each account every time want to do this.
2- Bluetooth acts crazy sometimes, it take over my car stereo (Mercedes E-Class) by making the radio believe that it is making a call and mutes music, screen looks as if you were making a call but no call is made.
3- MEMORY, no matter what I do, SKTools or anything, memory does not let me use the camera. Only used it once, all other times it asks me to close programs even when none are open.
4- How do I input DNS, I have Wi-Fi conections that need me to input a DNS in order to pass through internet.
5- Windows Update never works.
Please coment and thanks for taking the time to read this.

3. There may be opened some unwanted processes on the background - close them using advanced task manager (which can handle processes - Celetask for example). Than just close processes like tmail, iexplore, rsshub...
4. Comm Manager -> WLAN Settings -> Connection Status -> IP Address -> Use specific IP address -> ... DNS
5. There are no available updates on Windows Update.
1) what do you mean? You want pocket outlook to not sync email for the mailboxes automatically, but want them to sync manually; but not do this from within pocket outlook? it can't be done without a program, and i've never seen one.
2) looking on the htc e-club, which has updates for the phones, a few other phones had strange bluetooth issues, and were issued updates. i'd say that htc is on the case, but give them a call anyway.
1. jdr1000 doesnt mean syncing mails with Outlook. When you set several email accounts in the messaging application you have to hit Send/Recieve and wait untit this operation is finished and then you can sync your next account. There is no Sync all option (as far I know). (At least there is Automatic Send/Recieve feature)
Thank you all for taking your time to help.
1- moneytoo is "on the money" that is what I want to do, it's like running 5 or 6 or X ammount of connections at the same time. It is one internet connectio after all.
2- I installed the fix for the vox and it happens 10% of the time.
3- Ok, I will look fo this.
4- How can I do this for a specific wi-fi connection and not for all of them, since this only happens when I am at work, all the other time it is ok if everything comes from the APs.
5- Ok. Thks

1) I am tired that active sync synchorizes only ****. I mean, for example if i added a contact in the pda when i sync (pc over device) i lost the new contact. Is there any form (like in palm) to synchornize both at the same time and no overwrite one (item) over other (pc or device)?
2) Any way of use the pda only as an usb driver to put things in the pda withhout sync?
Tyvm.
1) look at your activesync settings, you can set which device would have priority in case of conflict. But in your case......it shouldnt delete case i dont think a new contact is a conflict, but check anyway.
2) wmstorage, but it doesnt work.......there's some tricks to get it to work, and some ppl have posted a working cab. search for it.
SOTI Pocket Controler Pro.
u will never use active sync again
just correct me, if i'm wrong,
but doesn't pocket-controller need active-sync to connect to your pda?
1) i sympathize. i've had many problems with activesync before, that i fondly call it activestink now. but check your settings, when i add something to my pda, activesync does manage to synchronize properly between my two devices.
2) if you just want to transfer files and install/uninstall programs, just delete all partnerships and connect as a guest. no synchronization, but as mentioned you can still copy/transfer files and add/remove programs.
It needs to use active sync the first time to install it on the device then the rest is the device activating it instead of active sync.
Yes, but thats one of the options. U could choose one of the other ways.
I cannot get my TyTN II to stop sync'ing Files. It works perfectly with Contacts and Calendar, only taking a few moments to up-date the changes, but when it comes to my files, it will start the sync process, go through all 465 files, finish the sync, and then start the whole process over again about 5 seconds later ... and no changes have been made, either on my PC or on the phone. It will continue to do this over and over again until I unplug the USB cable.
Any ideas?
Peter
I won't profess to know the cause but here's what I've done when I have file synch problems.
On the PC, move all the files to a temporary folder.
Turn off the file synching option.
Reset the phone.
Connect and active synch.
Delete all the files from the my docs folder on the phone.
Reenable file synching
On the PC, move all the files back into the synch folder.
That should clear most of the markers for file synching. There are more detailed things that can be done, but I'd start here. If that doesn't work, I'd delete the partnership and create a new one.
Didn't Work!
Hi, liquidsilver.
Thank you for your quick reply. Sadly, your suggestion didn't work. My files are still syncronizing over and over and over again. It just won't stop.
I'm thinking that it might be in an unending creation date loop. In other words, when a file on my PC gets "sync'd" to my phone, the creation date of the file on the phone is the date and time at the moment it was copied. Then, when the sync program looks at the file on the phone, it sees a newer date compared to the file on my PC, so it starts the sync process again. However, if this theory were true, then the creation dates of the files on my PC would also change, but they don't.
I'm at a loss.
One more thing, I also deleted the partnership and created a new one. It didn't solve the problem, either.
You can try making the log file read only. The log updates frequently & creates A/S traffic. Go to \Windows\Activesync\CtrlLog.txt & clicl & hold with a good file explorer like resco & select properties, then select "Read Only".
You can also try the "fake Server" hack, that will allow you to set a schedule for syncing. i.e. every hour instead of all the time.
1. Start ActiveSync on your Pocket PC.
2. Tap "Menu", then "Add Server Source"
3. Configure a server source with a fake IP address, id and password - you can enter anything you like, it doesn't matter
4. After that you will notice that "Menu -> Schedule..." item is no longer greyed out.
5. Change your schedule to manual under both fields.
6. You can now delete your fake server - your changes to the schedule will remain in effect.
For some reason my Tilt's Calender continues to give me multiple reminder announcements even when I dismiss the reminder. In fact, it will stay on the screen until I dismiss it a few times right from the onset of the first reminder. I'm curious if there's a way to delete every calendar entry? I have hundreds and
I just want to clear the entire calendar and re-transfer the events/appointments from Outlook 07 and see if that fixes the problem.
Thanks for any advice!
There is an easy way to delete the whole Pocket Outlook Database (including Calendar, Contacts and ToDos). You just need to delete the pim.vol file. Detailed instructions can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369123
If you just want to delete the calendar entries, than I know just one method: Install Pocket Informant (the trial version should suffice). This application provides the possibility to delete all calendar entries at once.
Actually there's another way to do it, I did a search some time back looking for the same solution and found it. Open up your ActiveSync, go to Tools - Options - Server Synchronization. When you choose the items to sync with server, it will ask you whether you want to delete everything off your device before the sync. Use with caution though...
I cannot find the options described as:
ActiveSync, go to Tools - Options - Server Synchronization
I tried opening Sync Center and Windows Mobile Device Center looking for this (Vista). I also looked under ActiveSync on my Tilt. There is no "Tools." Under "Options" there is nothing regarding Server Synchronization.
What now?
Thanks...

civic98 was refering to ActiveSync on a Windows XP machine (since you didn't mention Windows Vista before). In Windows Mobile Device Center the similar setting can be found under "Mobile Device Settings" -> "Change content sync settings" and there uncheck the "Calendar" checkbox. Your phone needs to be connected to the pc of course. HTH
No, I'm referring to your Tilt's Activesync. NOT on the PC...
Hi -- I'm running Vista Business' WMDC on my PC and WM 6.1's (ATT's unreleased, official WM6.1 ROM) ActiveSync on my Tilt. I have the sync set to replace the data on the device, but find that on occasion (mainly calendar items, but contacts, too) are being updated on my PC. Do I have the capability to fully control the direction of the sync? I want to sync only from the PC to the phone, not the phone to the PC, as any changes I make will be done at the PC.
With your phone connected via WMDC go to Mobile Device Settings>Manage a Partnership>PC Settings>choose the "If there is a conflict" dropdown menu and choose replace items on device, save.

That's exactly how I have it set, Alemaker. I've oftentimes dismissed a reminder (I set reminders days or weeks in advance and then change the reminder date as the time/date gets closer) on my Tilt, only to find it also dismissed on my PC, not reminding me at all. Until I find a definite solution, I've gotten into the habit of not dismissing the reminders on the phone. I just want to prevent the phone from doing any updating to the PC.
o.k.
This forum is a great place for issues and you may want to try posting this in the MSFT PPC newsgroups also. they can be found at microsoft.public.pocketpc. I'm sure between here and there, someone has seen this or can offer a solution.
The above setting does just what it says, uses the action you choose in case of conflict i.e same item has been changed on both devices. ActiveSync doesn't have an option to act like you want, so unless there's a hack somewhere there's no way.
