I am using a UK Diamond on ATT in the US without issue, until now. I installed the 193 ROM from the HTC site and it is certainly fast and I am now seeing E rather than G and more bars as well.
But, something is wrong. The e-mail screen won't work properly any more. Selecting New Account and typing in my address and password opens the browser and takes me to the Windows Live website where my e-mail appears. Not in the HTC envelope. I have tried this repeatedly with the same result. E-mail set up perfectly when I first bought the Diamond with the 135 ROM and after upgrading to the 137 ROM.
I couldn't get the weather to work at first either until I connected via wifi and then it update properly. I tried e-mail setup under wifi too, but the same result.
Here is another interesting point- on the full querty keypad, my lower case letters appear in a serif font (looks kind of like Times New Roman) while the uppercase font is the standard sans serif. This is also since installation of the 193 Rom.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Me too
I'm experiencing the same problem. I started out with a 1.37 rom, and upgraded to SwiftBL 5.6... I even tried entering bypassing this and then entering the Hotmail pop- and SMTP-servers, but that didn't work either...

I have started this thread so that we can document some intresting behavior of third party software under our WM5 Build. As well as WM5 Behavior.
We need to be fair as we all know that the WM5 version that we have has not been released and some software might work on WM5 but has not been built for it.
I have called it Buggy and maybe that is not a good choice of words, however maybe it is.
So if you wrote the software it was not my or any other person who posts here intention to clam that its is your software or even WM5 that is buggy.
Fact is somehow something is wrong.
I hope that owners of Offical versions of WM5 Can verify if they have found the same issues.

I use 5.13 and it works fine...
NiceStart. It doesn't work at all when the PPC's turned on - I only get the WM5 password screen. Then again I don't need it anymore since the SMS messages don't turn on the unit, they just send the sound, a big improvement!
1-Pass Version 1.1.1
1-Pass is a nice application that allows you to lock your device and be able to enter it either by using preset hardware key combinations or a numaric password.
I have used this back with rom 1.06 and like it.
It seems that it conflicts with the built in appliacton password found under
Start -> settings -> Password
They both seem to use the same space as when you configure I-Pass for a password you also set the Password application.
Thus after a reboot or sleep mode you are confronted with the Password application screen and can not use the I-pass screen. Hardware keys that you set can not be used. (thus you need to finger around and enter the numeric password.

Hey Guys!
There's just one "bug" that really anoys me:
On startup (after device was in standby for a longer time) WM 5.0 needs some time to react. I think, this is no problem of software but of storage. This thought seems to be right, because the more storage the today Pluginns need, the longer it takes until it reacts. I have uninstalled PocketPlus, because it takes up to 4 (!) seconds on restart. Can you copy that?
Nope, I don't have that problem. I have PocketPlus without any meters, only a few icons and the taskbar battery monitor. I remember I read somewhere here that if you use any of the meters, especially storage meters, it will take time.
Bejewelled 2 doesn't install saying that my version of Windows Mobile is too old...
Also the O2 Application Software supplied with the XDAs doesn't install either, so no ZIP or fax software
Resco Explorer 5.15 works fine though... so I won't upgrade
I can not change the theme of my desktop on WM5, even if i select the theme from SpbPocketPlus, it doesn't change.
I already know about another device with the same problem. The city list is empty and options are disabled. My device is a production unit bought in UK.
Anyone got this working? anyone can sugget how to fix?
Giving this a big kick 'cause I'm having the same problem. No options show up when setting up the weather, and Select and the Menu-options won't work either.
I'm connected to the internet via Wi-Fi by the way.

Please... anyone?
I switched carrier today and I tried again with a 3G-connection but still no luck. Same problem still stands.
Have u guys tried installing a newer version of HTC HOME?
font problems
Ronen, you being Israeli, i suppose you have hebrew installed.
Disable it, soft reset, and set the weather location. then enable the hebrew again.
Worked for me. Mine is set to Netanya now.
Not working for me either. I tried using HHC 0.8b and 1.0 with no luck on several cities in my area. Running version of HTC home in Schaps 4.3 rom.
I remember you used to have to edit the weather database with notepad to add your city then copy back to ppc. Doesn't work either. I disabled the weather tab and am using xcast.
Try going to http://weather.not2advanced.com/files/
I also had to manipulate my connection settings - but that only applies to media net in the USA - I had to disable the proxy and in my Work connection, tell it to connect to the internet
GuyGush- you are a genious!!!
Disabled the additional language and was able to choose NYC for my city!
Thanks

HTC Home Weather and Quickdial
I solved problem with my German MDA Vario II:
With HHC software I changed the default language of HTC Home. After that everything started to function! It was so easy, byt I looked everywhere for days without finding this anywhere.
Hope it will solve the problem with all other HTC users.
Find this software: HHCv10Final.CAB
Hi!
Apologies if this has been posted before - I have looked, honest, but can't seem to find anything...
I upgraded my O2 XDA Stellar to WM6.1 via the official O2 ROM yesterday, things went fine and I am happy with the stability so far (although not a lot has actually changed OS wise - except, I'm glad to see the official Remote Desktop terminal in there!)
The problem I have is that TomTom 6 will not start if I have the screen rotated to the left - the same orientation as if I was going to use the keyboard. It starts up, the splash screen comes on then it goes back to the desktop. It works fine in portrait, or even if rotated to the right???
Any idea's??
Kind regards
Paul D
Again - apologies if this has been answered elsewhere - I honestly couln't find it.
I had the same problem, not sure why. But I put a copy of L26 Diamond V9 rom on my Kaiser and TT6 crashed every time I opened the keyboard.
Ithink the problem manifested itself in other ways..for example if I change the set up for "clear type" in landscape mode any text displayed in the predictive text window whilst typing an email or text was blank and some menu's lost their text. Anyway....
The only way I found to fix the problem was to upgrade to Tomtom 7 with a UK map. Works perfectly in portrait and landscape.
PM me if you need a pointer on upgrading.
same problem for me after upgradung to wm6.1
I notice that if screen is already turn befire launching tt6, it works.
Note also that when opening keyboard, the rotation of thedisplay is at the oposite of the software rotation...
Maybe a problem depending on the rotation of the display
Definately a strange one - gave up in the end and went with TT7 as per Ben's advice (cheers mate!)
Thanks

I have searched and searched, so far all that have the same issue as myself have not had an answer that works. I am bringing this to a new thread, in the hopes it will trigger some ideas on how to fix this.
I do know how to use the search system. I am usually a lurker, having the Diamond (NOT Pro) for a little over a week.
I have tried a number of different things to try to STOP the screen from waking up on a new text message. I have tried everything except the older version 3.2.. of the advanced config utility (I am reluctant to downgrade to older version as I have changed many things and have noticed that if you switch from one config utility from another will not work the same way, example is with TF3dconfig I removed the weather tab and forgot to reset all when I uninstalled it for the 3.3 version of advanced config. I try to re-activate the weather tab in 3.3 and it will not take-alas, another issue for another day). I have a Sprint version of the diamond. The DisableSMSWakeUpEvent does not work on my sprint diamond. It does not show up in the registry and when I create it, it still does nothing. This seems like such a silly thing to not have the option of adjusting in the oem configuration. The Pro has it, why not the non-pro version.
Many thanks for anyone that has a suggestion on how to get this screen to STAY OFF when a text comes in. Perhaps even a lock on incoming text that will be unlocked by the light sensor.
I have also discovered that TF3D does not like gsensor rotation. I wanted the text message to be landscape. Tried Gyrator 2, could not get it to reliably not rotate when a call is active. Tried changescreen, great easy to use, but TF3D overrides this. It works the first time or two, then the TF3D changes it to portrait. I did find that adding a rotate command to a registry entry (found in the forum) then assigned the 'green' phone button long hold to rotate. Works well and is easy as sometimes I do not want it to rotate.
Sorry for the run on, many thanks in advance for the help and insight.
Jeff

Next? -->HTC Diamond Pro (I am not missing keyboard as much as I thought I would with TF3D)
HTC Diamond (WM6.1)
HTC Touch (WM6.1 ack! lasted a week)
HTC PPC6800 Mogul (WM6 upgraded WM6.1)
HTC PPC6700 (WM5)
Samsung I600 (WM 4?) (Flip phone)
Kyocera QCP-7035 (Palm) (Flip phone color)
Kyocera QCP-6035 (Palm) (Pseudo flip, greyscale)
A bump to see if anyone has a solution, many thanks for taking a look.
I've used several different roms now. 2.1, 2.5 versions etc.
I've noticed with all however that MMS doesn't work. Also email doesn't work as push (livemail)
When I return to stock HTC rom, both work fine?
I'm in the UK on O2 network.
I totally agree
Mire 21864 version 4 Premium Manila 2.1 is the ONLY 6.5 ROM which is BUG FREE, i have downloaded about 60 over the last month and never lasted more than a day before having to revert back to the original, The Rom mentioned above has now been on my phone for a week and its fantastic, Download it and then get back to me, there is a fantastic add on to go with it. Good Luck.

MOD EDIT rude comments removed pm sent
I'll have a look mate.. it was the NRGZ roms I was having issues with
Very strong comments re NRG Roms - anyone reading this might also want to keep in mind that an awful lot of people use his ROMs and find them good.
With all the custom ROMs, it depends on what you use them for. I don't use MMS as it costs on my monthly plan whereas email is included.
I have had no problems with email or any of the things I do use it for, except for an issue with Vociecommand that someone has recently posted a reg fix for that seems to have worked. It is a vast improvement over 6.1
Having said that, I do not use Manila at all (preferring SPB Mobile Shell) and so do not care about any bugs etc in that.
As I said, it all depends upon each persons needs.
Ok... without getting into a who's rom is better argument etc.
I'm in the UK, on O2 network.
I use :
SMS, MMS, Youtube, opera.
Any rom running perfect with all of the above?
Just testing now - but am on vodafone - but was on O2 previously and had MMS working fine (eventually)
SMS - Fine
MMS - Fine (just tested)
Youtube - (standalone app tested - seems fine)
Opera - fine.
On Vodafone UK using NRG Rom 22 September
Are you sure the MMS settings for 02 are going in OK?
I'm downloadng NRG latest 2.5 and also the Miri rom at the moment.
I've spent ages playing with different roms in the past, but not found one that has everything working.
I'm well aware of 2.5 landscape issues etc.

Where do you put the specific MMS info?
I put in carrier information etc in the connections/dialer section if that makes sense. It works fine with stock HTC rom, so obviously doing something correct.
These are the settings I used...
“Select a Modem” should be set for “Cellular Line (GPRS)” or “Cellular Line GPRS/3G”
Now click “Next” to start inputting the operator specific settings.
O2 (note different settings for Contract and PAYG)
Access Point Name (Contract): wap.o2.co.uk
Access Point Name (PAYG): payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username (Contract) o2wap
Username (PAYG) payandgo
Password: password
Tap “Advanced” and make sure both tabs have selected “Use Server Assigned IP Address”
Tap “Finish” then Tap “Proxy Settings”.
Select “This network connects to the Internet” and “ This network connects to a proxy server…”
Tap “Advanced” then WAP. Server address is: 193.113.200.195: Port 9201. Tap OK
Tap Socks: Server is 193.113.200.195: Port 1080. Type: Socks 4. Tap OK 4 times to finish.
will need to look back on my old touch pro - I had an xml file/cab that I ran after each flash that sorted the MMS stuff out.
