Hi
How do I assign my own music to an sms text alert? on my TyTN 11
copy and paste the tones you would like to use into the My Documents folder or Windows folder on your phone.
you'll find all the notification tones in settings>sounds & notifications>notifications. Select from the drop down menu and change The tone.
WTF?! When syncing to laptop or desktop, choose storage card preferably and put anything you wish in the ''My Documents'' folder. You might have to create this new folder if it's not present. Try googling your question next time finished with "xda"
Thanks Teh Reaper but I have done as you said and in sounds and notifications it still only allows the sounds that came with the phone
forget the copy n paste method, you have to be very exact where you paste it to, just put your audio or even video files in the My Documents folder from your pc
I had this problem as well when I got my Kaiser. Put the files into the Windows folder. This did the trick for me.
MyDocuments does NOT work for SMS or other notifications. Only regular ringtones work there.
Most likely you have to convert your SMS tones to wma before you are able to use them. SMS sounds didn't work as mp3 for me. There are lots of converters available on the web. Simply choose one.
http://www.google.de/search?q=mp3+t...&rls=org.mozilla:de:official&client=firefox-a
No no no, you don't need any converters as long as they are mp3 or even m4 format, it'll read under settings from My Documents folder
For me, this doesn't work, as you described it. I tried this. My method works for me! It is just a suggestion.
My documents works for Every type of notification!!! Make sure its My documents from the storage card though
For some reason My documents from the device do not relate to sounds and notifications, again, try My Documents folder from storage card. I'm currently using a customized message for Every notification
Thank you
Thanks for your help in resolving issue.Works a treat.
1st time on thread for me,so thanks.
Hi,
I copies all my music to internal\music\"CD_title" as mp3 files
in each folder there is the cover as a jpg file
I never get touchflo to show all cd covers one after another in a scrolable way.
It only shows ONE cd cover.
When I go to library, I see all uploaded cds, here I can pick a new one to listen to. The cover then is shown but always one at a time.
I read lots of messages but still can't find a way to solve this issue.
All help is welcome
Thank you all
when you go to library, do you choose for 'all songs' first? If you choose that one it should show all covers in the player.
After reading your post not sure how you did organize your files, I have all mp3's in one folder on the diamond, not in separate folders per cd or artist.
Besides that, what I've found out also, if the album or track titles contains special characters like ":" or ">" then the album art won't show for that particular song. I replaced them with "-" and all is fine now.
makes no difference.... even if I choose "all songs", all I get is 1 cover...

JP
hmmm, putting all mp3's in one folder and see how it goes then? When you select all songs, then tap on one song in that list, it should now go to the 'main; screen again, still only shows one cover?
And with one song you mean it also doesn't shhow the 'covers' with questionmarks in it?
(zooitje inderdaad)
I stored all my mp3 files into the \internal\music folder
Did a soft reset
go to "music" -tab
get: searching
get: "nothing found"
go to library: all files with correct covers are shown
choose "all songs"
go back to the main screen...
get: "nothing found"

Hi
earlier i had the same problem!
then i tried media monkey because it allows you to auto tag your mp3 files from internet.
i copy all mp3 in an extra folder on my pc, start mediamonkey and begin to tag all selected mp3 files with albumcovers , songname etc. after copy the files to my diamond all covers were shown correct in tf3d !
greetings
mr moe
I'm making progress now...
Now I get cd covers, with 2, then another cover of the same cd with 4 tracks.
I can not find any difference in the tag..
I used the suggested media monkey..
What's next
JP
seems the covers are sorted by song and not by album...
If I can sort this out, I think my problem is solved.
Please.... HELP!!!! final step is so near now!
JP
Guys... please do read everything I write... you simply won't find a better source of info on a given subject than those articles... see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415063 , it answers ALL your questions.
all that is left is to know the way to sort my mp3-files by album or artist...
JP
Nobody for this final question?

this has also been answered by my bible. On the Diamond alone, you can't, unless you use either Pocket Player on CorePlayer. Both of these players here far better sorting capabilities than WMP
Do I need the WMP even if I use the default rouchFlo music player... the one that opens when you are on the correct tab... you know what I mean
Unsure why, but having had a few wm handsets this has never bothered me showing cd art, but this has really annoyed me on this one i think before it's just worked ! anyhow eventually sorted this for myself - none of the guides on here helped to be honest my solution is this..
The jpg must be named accordingly:
htc_"album name".jpg
Appears that the album name must be exactly as in the id3 tag and is case sensitive.
Hope this helps as it's been annoying me all morning.
Hi guys,
Ive had a good search and cannot find anything about this problem.
On the music tab of my diamond it lists all of my music when I go into the Library option, only problem being that it is still listing items ive deleted. The library mark these files with an exclamation mark so knows they are not there, but I cannot find out how to remove them from the library list. The player will also still attempt to play them, but just skips straight past them.
Anyone got any ideas how I can make the library update to remove these files?
Thanks for any advice
go to \app data\HTC\AudioManager rename the AudioManager_Eng.vol file. Softreset and it will refresh the library and create a new AudioManager_Eng.vol file, you can then delete the old one you created.
Not sure if there's a simpler way around it.
Typical, had another search around the phoen and it turns out you just delete a file.
For anyone thats interested
Start/File Explorer/Application Data/HTC/AudioManager/Delete the AudioManager_Eng.vol file
My phone doesnt know how to open JPEGs. Even though i in Advanced Config told it to open with pimg.exe, i assume thats the picture and videos tool? What can i do to get the normal file asso's back, is there a "default" button somewhere?
Go to
Hkey_Classes_Root\.jpeg
Default =jpegimage
Content Type=Image/jpeg
Perceivedtype=image
Hkey_Classes_Root\.jpg
Default =jpegimage
Content Type=Image/jpeg
Perceivedtype=image
Hope this help
Thanks alot, im gonna look into that later! Thank you
Hi hope you could help me too
when i click the mp3 files from the file explorer they are not playing and it asks something related to the certificates. The error also advises to install the file again.
It is however functioning well when opened in the Win Medial Player. I all started when i uninstalled the Coreplayer and deleted the installer files.
Please help me.
Thanks.
I had a similar problem with .mp3 association, fixed it partly with "Total Commander".
However, I still cannot use .mp3 files as ringtones.....
I have found this solution
Use a registry editor, then locate:
1) HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mp3 - Default = WMAFile
2) HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMAFile\DefaultIcon - Default = wmplayer.exe,-2001
3) HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMAFile\Shell\Open\command - Default = wmplayer.exe "%1"
last two entries might already be present in ur registry in that case u just need to change the first one.
============================\
I found this solution on research from the net however i have not tested it yet i left my diamond at home. I am not sure also where do i run the regedit. Is it through the pocket pc itself or in a computer (using regedit) when the diamond is connected?
Pls. let me know if this does the fix for you just in case.
Man, you're AMAZING!!!
IT WORKED !!!
I only needed to change No 1 !!
WOW
No2 in my diamond was "-2002", no need to change that. Just changed number 1 and voila...
MP3 RINGTONES AGAIN !!
Could someone add "SOLVED" on the title?
Registry Editing Question
Hi Garret, it's great news that you have solved your problem. I have one question though... where do i edit the registry file and how to do it? I hav tried connecting it to my computer and running regedit, however i was not able to see the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mp3 of my device.
Sorry for the newbie question.
Thank you.
Hi all,
I searched the forum and didn't find someone else asking the same question, so if someone else did then I did a bad job searching the forum.
I just got my XPERIA yesterday. I am not facing problems with it yet, maybe in some time I will but as always SE will find solutions for the problems (hopefully).
My main concern here is the ringing tone volume, does anyone else find it low even when the tone is put to the max. I also got the SE C905 for my other line, and it's the same with all my SE phones the ringing tone volume is good leave the volume 5 and the sound is heard pretty well when the phone is not near me. The reason I want the sound louder is because a lot of time my phone is on my desk and I am talking to someone in the office, or even when I'm home I leave it in my bedroom and go to the kitchen, the volume in the X1 won't help much. I read on another forum one of the users playing with something in the registry to make the ringing tone louder but didn't say how.
Can anyone help me out here??
Thanks in advance.
having the same problem.. the volume is really low when at max...
was hoping someone possibly finding a solution to this
try this it fixed the problem for me
right, same problem here... I tried to tweak the \Windows\audiopara.csv file for sound volumes but is REALLY different from the touch or raphael

does this break the volume control?
Hey guys,
I actually have the opposite problem. When the system volume on my X1i is FULL, it seems to 'clip' really bad and the sound is distorted. I therefore my leave my volume at 80% max, and sometimes it still sounds 'tinny' and distorted. I think this is because the speaker is quite crap, as my HTC Universal had much better sound.
billybob, I would just double check that while you're holding the phone, you aren't covering the speaker hole with your hand. It is VERY easy to do so, and this HUGELY affects the quality/volume of the speaker. In case you were unaware, the speaker is on the bottom left side of the phone.
Interested to hear what others think about this, but I can tell you that I do NOT have low volume for sure.
If it's your ringtones only, then you might want to look into editing the .wav/.mp3 file and increasing the levels that way. I always make my own ringtones, and I find that sometimes I need to increase the dB levels a bit more than normal.
theres already been a couple of threads on this, you do need to edit the correct audiopara file, have a search for audiopara on my username
patterns
I downloaded and installed the HTCVolume.cab file on my X1. Did a soft reset too. Now what next? I dont see any new program or any change in the volume? Am i missing something?
I did the same, nothing's there. I will try searching for the audiopara solution maybe it will fix the problem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443276&highlight=volume
I dont think its a general volume problem. It seems the Xperia is playing custom mp3 ringtones quieter than the standard ringtones that came with the device.
It doesn't have to do with the ringtones because I am using my own ringtone and on my X1 it's low whereas on my other SE C905 it's normal.
Now for those of you who didn't solve this yet, here's what I did and it worked for me thanks to our friend fards.
P.S.: I am not responsible for any defection in your phone using my method. You should do this on your own responsability.
Download fards's AudioPara3_XC_Vodafone_V5.zip which I reuploaded or if you have the original one which I have you will have to download AudioPara3_XC.zip. It's the same file but one for vodafone and the other for original ones that are not locked to one company which is my case.
Now go to your X1 to Windows folder, you have either AudioPara3_XC_xxx.csv if your phone id locked to one company or AudioPara3_XC.csv if you have an unlocked phone. If you can't see these files press menu them show all files to view them. Now copy this csv file and put it somewhere on your desktop as a backup copy.
Unzip the csv file in some folder on your computer. Now download one of these files, which will allow you to copy the csv file to your mobile. Normal file explorer will not allow you to overwrite the csv file on the phone.
http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm
or direct cab file http://ghisler.fileburst.com/ce/tcmdpocketarm.cab
After you install the software go to your Xperia open the software, navigate to Windows folder got the the AudioPara3_XC file and remove the read only option for the file. Now put your downloaded csv file to your phone (not to Windows folder, you can't paste it there). Using the total commander, navigate to where you copied the new csv file, then copy/move this file, and put the destination \Windows\ then soft reset your phone and you're done.
BTW after resetting the phone, the voice control interface changed, I don't know if it's due to the new csv but it kinda looks cool .
Thank you fards for the help
ehajj
thanks for the help. Just a few queries before I go ahead.
1) Will restoring the original AudioPara3_XC_xxx.csv file to its original destination will make the phone as it was before or its a irreversible process?
2) Does this increase the speaker volume (for tones) or only the earpiece volume?
Thanks for your prompt help!
Hi Moleculez,
1) The purpose of backing up the original file is to be able to restore the phone volume to its original state, so yes it's a reversible process.
2) I noticed an increase in the speaker volume and that's what I wanted in first place. For the earpiece I don't know yet as I just got my X1 on saturday afternoon so I am still Xperiencing with it.
I'm Having a slight problem, here, wonder if anyone can help.
I'm using total commander, trying to remove the read-only attribute from the .csv files in my x1/windows folder.
I touch and hold the file, and select properties, then clear the read-only checkbox, check the change checkbox, and click now.
Upon reselecting the.csv file, and opening properties, it is still read-only.
Am i doing something wrong? should i soft reset at this point to change the attribute?
Any help much appreciated, as i'd love my X1 to be a bit louder.
By the way, its a generic UK X1. (CarphoneWarehouse 02 unlocked/unbranded)

why are you trying to remove the read-only status of a file in rom?
Overwrite the file with the new one, the old one will not be deleted, the operating system will just use the new one instead. If you don't like it delete or rename the new file and after a soft reset the original file will be restored.

It was this part from an earlier post that caused me to try doing what i was trying.
Anyhow, i will try it your way, Fards, and thanks for the help.

WARNING
the file posted for NoBrand X1 attenuates excessively the volume during calling if you use headphone, so for me is not usable...
i've had to re-overwrite to the orginal one
My wife got her X1i yesterday and I played around with it and the sound volume is great and the clarity is superb. So I don't know what this is about.
try to use a custom mp3 as ringer and you will know what we're talking about
