Dead Diamond - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Yesterday I was on my way home with the sat nav on and the phone plugged into the car charger. After filling up with petrol I started the car and the screen on the phone went blank. I tried to reset the phone using the soft reset but this didn't work. I removed the battery and then rebooted the phone and got the start-up vibration and boot up sound but the screen remained blank. The phone will now not charge from either the mains charger or the PC and the phone will not communicate with the PC. I cannot even hard reset the phone as the soft reset button doesn't work.
I'm currently using a TLR ROM and without the communication to the PC I cannot flash the ROM back to stock. With the screen not working, will it be possible to for HTC to check the ROM version on the phone and therefore invalidate my warranty?
I'm also concerned that I cannot delete the files on the internal storage or any emails stored on the phone and these may be accessible if the phone is ever repaired. Is there any other way to do a hard reset and delete the contents of the internal storage?

TyTN II is frozen at the Smart Mobility screen and restarts constantly

As I said my (Kaiser) HTC TyTN II is frozen at the Smart Mobility screen and restarts constantly. I have tried soft restart, hard restart and nothing changes. When it happened I had to soft reset my phone after my "Phone in the phone" stopped working proplerly. I hit the soft reset button and the it just freezes in Smart Mobility and then restarts, vibrates, freezes and etc.. Soft restet does not do anyting, hard reset goes through the process of cleaning and reseting and then nothing, the same problem keeps coming up. Does anyone have any ideas?
Can you come in the BOOT? So if you put a ROM on your extern storage (You need to rename the ROM in some kind of word, like by the Hermes, if you wanted to flash from your extern storage you needed to rename it to HERMING.nbh) and flash it with that..
Sounds promising - can you give more precise instructions for the Kaiser please?
How do you get to the bootloader?
What exactly do you name the .nbh file on the storage card to?
Sorry to jump in after so long time but there might be a very easy solution, yopur battery! Now i had se sam problem but mine didt want to even start to boot till you connect him on charger so i did a little experiment with an old trick: put a piece of paper between the battery and the edge of its dock so that battery can be well pressed and real tight in its dock. And it worked!!!!
I have the same probleam. But at first my phone dont charging when it turned on(only when it was turned off) and now when i try to turn it on it show me start display(Windows Mobile) and restarts,restarts,restars...

Help with Hard Reset

Ok here is the problem.
I have an HTC Fuze and i installed [APP][26.07.08] Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7 onto it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749)
So then i wanted to change the language to chinese since my parents wanted to try it. Now my phone only loads up to the green Windows Mobile load screen and stays there forever.
I have already tried the volume down, center button, and reset for a hard reset. but i guess this doesn't work if the phone doesn't fully load.
Then i tried to plug it into my computer and see if i can access my sprite backup, but the sync don't work since it isn't loaded fully.
i'm out of options and i don't want to end up with a bricked phone. any help?

Diamond reboot loop w. original ROM

hi there,
this morning, without any interactiom, i heard the vibration of my touch diamond restarting.(with original newest ROM from htc website that ran without any problem for several months). battery was about 80% yesterday evening.
but it wasn´t starting at all. after the HTC animation and the green windows mobile screen, it started again. after restarting for 20 minutes i took out the battery, put it in again and performed a hard reset as stated in the manual.
now, on the "rainbow" screen i get a message like
psoc diam stage_pvt 0x32
then i did the Volume-Up reset, and now i don´t even get the red version information in the lower right screen. as it doesn´t even start i cannot get an active sync connection.
any ideas? is my phone broken? i didn´t do anything special, and i wonder why it rebooted without interaction this morning.
any ideas what i can do?
thanks in advance,
jkersch
Mine started doing this about 2 weeks ago it woke me up in the middle of night while sleeping with its vibrator and start sound.
The only thing I have found is that my little reset button at the pen holder dosent work anymore. To do a hard reset i have to takeout the battery and then put it in, hold the volume key and enter key then power it to get it. Flashed by holding volume down and the power on, it hold for about 10min just enough to get the flash.
I managed to flash it once but it dosent help, it constantly reset at the thouch diamond screen. Some times i get to the green windows mobile screen.
As warrenty is out on my phone and ive given up and using another phone.

install a new radio worked for me

Phone reboots continuously while media scanning

My phone went low on battery and switched off and when I charged it back on, I am not able to restart my phone.
It goes till "Media Scanner running" then has 1 soft vibrate followed by 3 soft vibrates and it just reboots (screen switches off and the same thing repeats, it does not reboot with AT&T logo and stuff)
1. I am on AT&T stock ROM with the Froyo update
2. I do not have any external SD card on the phone.
3. I tried removing the SIM card and switching it on, still its the same issue.
4. I charged the phone with the standard charger
5. I have tried removing battery and SIM and then putting them back on.
This is so frustrating... I am out of warranty.
Can someone please help.
Pull the battery. Reinsert battery. Boot into recovery, do a factory reset. Bad news is you will need to reinstall your apps, reset your settings, and set up any accounts you have.
Is that the only available option? I dont think I have saved my contacts. I have a very old contacts file
By booting into recovery do you mean having the volume up & down buttons pressed while powering the device on?
No when the device is off press Vol up+ Vol down + power

My phone does the 1+3 vibrate thing any time an app force closes. Once in a while when it happens, the phone dies and will not turn back on, requiring a battery pull (which is why I will never buy a phone that doesn't have a removable battery).
If yours is doing this on every boot, either something got corrupted or an app you installed is causing a conflict in the OS. I agree that a factory reset is probably your only option (unless you flash a custom ROM).
And I would highly recommend putting your contacts into Google. It will save you a ton of time in the future as you get new phones. Sorry, I know that doesn't help you now, but you'll be better off in the long run.
Because you're out of warranty, you should check to see if you qualify for an upgrade. You can get a good trade-in on your captivate and get a new phone.

OS Boots to black screen? Anyway to recover data?

Hi all, forgive me if this has already been asked in some form.
My girlfriends Verizon Moto X lost battery one day while she was playing a game. After she charged and tried booting again, it just booted to a black screen. It still runs through the full boot animation. Weirdly enough, active display will still show her information (and can be interacted with until unlocked), and holding power will bring up a power menu for shutdown. The camera gesture also works to launch it, but you can't interact with anything at all. Safe mode provides the exact same issues.
She is running the latest 5.1 update and is fully stock. She also does not wish to root or flash a custom recovery.
I have tried to pull the data, which windows recognizes as a media device, but shows empty when clicked on. OSx immediately says that the storage can not be accessed over android file transfer. I plugged it in for ADB but ADB won't seem to find it when its turned on. It is recognized in fastboot though. I also wiped the cache via the stock recovery, but that didn't help.
I believe a factory reset will be the solution to the black screen, but she has a bunch of photos she would really like to save. Is there anyway for me to actually get them off of the phone? If she can get those, I can get it factory reset for her no problem.
Thanks for any advice!
The exact same thing has happened to my girlfriend's phone as well and I'm also looking for a solution to recover the data. Moto X (2014) Pure, 5.1
The device boots. The Motorola boot animation plays all the way through, the screen brightness dims slightly as normal, and then the Amber Alert from the previous night vibrates the phone several times and displays over a fully black background. There are no soft buttons and no status bar. The home screen appears not to have loaded (yet?)
Attempts to click "OK" to close the alert fail.
The phone is hot. It is working hard. Something stuck in a loop?
The power button will bring up the "Power Off" prompt with no issues. The animation plays smoothly and the phone can be powered off as normal. The phone is able to recognize touch input here.
Calling the phone while it's on will play a ringtone. It is receiving calls.
Plugging the phone into a computer will show up as an MTP device. However, there are no contents listed.
Sometimes, the phone will prompt that the "System" process is not responding and will ask to close it. This has no effect.
Booting into Safe Mode has no effect.
Clearing the application cache from recovery mode has no effect.
I have a CSE degree but absolutely no Android experience. Forensics on a NAND dump or something like that isn't out of the question, unless it's not possible. Hope you're able to get some help.

I am having the exact same issue. Has anybody had a luck resolving it short of a factory reset?
My phone battery died last night. I plugged my phone in, let it get about 15% charge, then tried to turn it back on. The phone boots like normal, but after the boot animation goes away, the screen is black. Active notifications still seem to work, and I can hold the power button to get the Power Down option. I can boot into the bootloader & access recovery just fine. However, my phone is fully stock (no root, no bootloader unlock, no anything). I can't seem to access ADB when the phone is powered normally (ie, when I'm at this mysterious black screen), but it's possible that USB debugging isn't even enabled.
So far, I've found a bunch people who've said a full factory reset will fix the problem, but I'm looking for another solution, or at least a way to grab my data before I reset. Since my bootloader's still locked, I can't seem to use fastboot boot to boot into TWRP, and I can't find any other way to access my data to copy it off the phone. I've tried wiping the cache using the stock recovery to no avail. Any suggestions?
Update?
Hello,
I am having this issue as well.
Unfortunately I am unable to perform any form of factory reset, the bootloader also just brings me to the black screen and I am unable to use soft keys. The kicker for me is that I cannot connect to my PC with a working USB. I used to have that available and now no device is recognized.
