Hi all.
I've got a malfunctioning diamond, the data usb connectors must have been disconnected from the phone.
I want to send it in for repair, but i have a bepe rom on it, i am afraid my service provider wont repair it because of the voided warranty by flashing a non-stock rom on my device.
Is there anyway i can transfer the stockrom (yes i have it) to my device, and flash it from there? I can charge my device.
If not, is it possible to overclock the cpu so the device will be destroyed or something in that direction?
-Heien.
Well, you could try to find the problem yourself by using the service manual in the wiki. Or...I can think of many ways you could "destroy" the phone.
please give me inspiration ?

Microwaves leave serious burn marks on the PCB's absolutely not recommended, any technician will recognize the obvious tamper.
There are several ways to brick a device, but these kind of practices are not condoned here, so this info will not be made public!
(Don't even try to PM me about it, I will ignore all PM's regarding this question, no exceptions!)
@heien
A lose usb connector can sometimes easily be fixed by using an SMD rework station (if the PCB traces are undamaged.
If the traces are damaged, you'll be in need of a new main board.
The biggest job on the diamond is to disassemble it, it takes up a lot of time.
But the repair itself would be fairly simple.
Don't even try it with a soldering Iron (ext-usb leads have a small footprint), you should use an SMD/SMT hot air rework station, or better ask a mate who has the experience and access to equipment for these kind of repairs.
Best of luck,
EqX
if u are taking it for a hardware malfunction why be worried about what ROM do you have?
do u think they'll (technicians) check the ROM version you have? why bother? they'll dismantle it and repair/change the mother board. maybe you'll got a diamond with a new motherboard and a new-stock ROM.
@ eqx
Thank you for the very kind, but nerdy suggestion I'm afraid my ten thumbs would kill the phone permanently.
@Kukuriku
is this something you have experienced, or ? but i get your point, maybe i should just turn it in tomorrow..
Are you sure the problem is hardware related?
I have pretty much the same problem as you. My diamond can charge through the usb port but cannot be detected by any PC (I tried several PCs). I also use bepe rom (9.7).

No. I have tried entering bootloader mode via bluetooth or with SSPL-Manual.exe but it’s still not detected.
The PC sometimes shows the "new peripheral detected" icon in the taskbar, but it disappears after a few seconds. The phone also shows me the menu (asking me to choose between activesync , storage disk and internet sharing).
PS: I have tried soft and hard resets

bootloader via bluetooth? i mean the Tri color boot screen.
while the phone is off, press volume down and power it on.
then connect pc via usb. "usb should appear on screen"
try flashing other that bepe's rom. it might be a software issue.

Thanks, but so far I haven't managed to get it to display "USB".
Either it shows "serial" or it shows nothing
basically my usb port is f***ed...
I'm stuck with a 1 month old phone that I can't flash or send back to orange for repair/exchange
+ I can only transfer files on it by bluetooth!

My Tilt began having issues just the other day. The screen would periodically fade out and go white. I would soft reset and the screen would remain white. I was able to get into bootloader. Now i get no display and a green light on the ear piece is all i have.
Anyone have any clue if it's possible to fix this. I just got the phone on Friday and did Hard Spl by Sunday i was experiencing issues.
Any help or ideas would be great.
have you tried pulling the battery out for 10 minutes and letting the phone totally discharge?
i am trying that right now
still the same response. the device will not boot up
my first kaiser was dmaaged by myself. at night i wanted to reset the device. but the hole ist not like the hermes left of the usb jack its right of it so i didnt saw and didnt felt it and pushed my stick into the usb jack. at the hermes the usb jack was a board but in the kaiser the connectors are metal sticks with plasics around.
after pushin the stick into the jack the connectors were pushed down. at the next day the device had low battery cause the power adapter couldnt load the battery...
i phoned HTC and they couldn't offer any ideas aside from brining the device back.
when i plug in the device its recognized as a "data device" but i canot find drivers to enable activesync to address it. i feel like it's possible to flash it without activesync is this possible??
can't you just return it?

i cant tell if the device will go into bootloader. it will not light up totally black screen. I flashed the ATT rom you posted before it totally died hoping that it would reset the issue if it was software based. it didnt fix the issue though.

I plan on it but i hoped to be able to fix the issue myself. I have been able to fix my hermes in the past with the help of the XDA community.
No Boot loader
Not charging
No lights
Nothing by pressing vol down and power buttons
Nothing by pressing both vol buttons and reset button
Turned off for hours without battery and pressed power button for long time to drain the battery and turned back on.
Nothing works any more ideas.
But when I connect it to my laptop it does make a notification sound that a new device is connected and is called the qualcomm cdma technologies msm.
If I have bricked it and no solutions and I have warranty should I call HTC or my insurance company?
See..

OK,try this! Remove the Battery-Cover. Look at the Space between the Battery and the Phones Frame on the lower side,on the right of our SIMcard. If you can see two small Pins, remove the battery, and reinsert it carefuly,so that the two Pins are touching the contacts on the Battery...
what happened?
flashing fail? any details please.

When experiencing any kind of problems its always usefull to post what you was doing before the problem occured. With no other information, there is no way to do any kind of propper trouble shooting.
Its like droping your car at a garage, say it has problems and walk away. Was it that you ran out of gas, did you battery failed or the engine, is it only a lightbulb that doesnt work. A car mechanic wont be able to help you with the car problem cuz he dont know what kind of problem you were experiencing
Try to recharge your phone by default loader (not by pc-USB) for a few hours and try to boot again. Or try entering boot loader while pressing volume down and power on after a few hours of loading.
I agree.
The issue has been posted like a telegram being sent to a grandchild for her nanny's funeral...!!
No one will probe you for your issues. You need to provide as many details as to how you r***ed your HD2..!!
Hi
i have pretty much the same problem. I got this phone on ebay because someone tried to put another rom on it and failed due to an power failure (thunderstorm).
When i connect the phone to the computer via USB, it recognizes a Qualcomm CDMA MSM Driver but cannot install it.
About the phone:
No lights, no bootloader, nothing. It becomes warm while charging so i assume the hardware is not faulty. I guess the bootloader is broken.
Do you have any idea how to save this phone?
i had once a similar issue...
i flashed and failed (not really, cause it works again )..
everything was the same only that i could get access to bootloader (and so my leo booted up).
but when it was powered off and i connected it to my pc, it also recognized a qualcomm device...
badly, that doesnt help you...
i have no plan how to get this work again...if the phone doesnt turn on...
maybe its time for a prayer.

I just found this thread, and hoping someone has come up with an answer, though I havn't actually searched the threads yet as i just got the phone today, cause someone bricked it trying to unlock it (I assume because his only clue was I might need to flash a different rom). But its the same symptoms, no lights, dosn't show charging, attempts to install a qualcomm CDMA MSM driver when connected to windows pc.
Is there a solution?
Thank you in advance for your replys.

Hello forum! I own a smartphone S3 mini model GT-i8190n with rom stock, root, recovery cwm and usb debugging disabled (I think).
Because of a problem with the battery I was restarting myself very often during the boot and I was forced to keep it constantly on charge ...
The other day ago to reboot but does not start and does not turn on any more, not making time to receive the new battery.
So far I tried to turn it on in all ways, including recovery and download mode, but nothing. Connecting it to the PC via USB I get a new device called U8500 USB ROM, but it connects and disconnects indefinitely and fails to install the drivers.
Could I try some solutions in this way?
I've heard of Jtag to unlock the phone and a particular image debrick.img, but I would absolutely not format anything, nor lose any data, just reactivate the bootloader.
Can I have some information on this method (steps to perform, necessary material, etc.) and if I format the phone? Is any of you able to perform this procedure by the right means?
I apologize if I have violated any rule of the regulation, in which case I will reserve the right to modify the post.
Please help me to solve ... for me it is very important!
Thanks to all those who will respond !!

Does the Led on the screen turn on if you connected your phone to Usb-charger?
If not, there could be a problem with mainboard or LCD.
If yes, could be a problem with LCD.
It is not conducive for a long lifetime to use the device often during the charching.

This smartphone has not any status LEDs.
Now if it is charging does not give any sign of life.
So I assume it is "dead" and the only way to try to resurrect it is through jtag. Correct? Someone who can recommend me something in this way?

Did you try a full charged battery?

If the device is completely unresponsive, there is nothing you can do as an end user to fix it.
You're going to have to have it repaired or replaced.

I bought a USB JIG from an online shopping platform because I checked the forums and the vast majority of people said that USB JIG would help, but the merchant said "this product will not help hard bricks" which confused me a little, I wanted to know the exact answer? If you or someone else can answer it, I would appreciate it! (Also, luckily, I didn't refresh the partition table. A friend of mine said that if I did, the phone would be dead.)

The only jig I could think of would be JTAG, and while I imagine the board does have a JTAG header, Qualcomm (and Samsung) provides a means to perform low level flashes using specialized tools such as QPST. However the tools and the files necessary are not publicly available and there is zero end user support. Most repair centers won't reflash your phone; they'll just replace the main board and program it with your IMEI.

Thank you for your reply. As far as I know, USB JIG comes in two varieties, one is forced to boot the device into download mode via a MicroUSB plug with 4 resistors, and the other is what you call JTAG, and I bought the former

USB JIG arrived today, but it didn't work... I removed the battery two seconds later, put it back on the phone, and plugged in the USB JIG, but nothing happened, I even waited five minutes, was I using it wrong? I even paid about 10 CNY(about $1.50) for it, including a 2 CNY USB JIG and 8 CNY shipping... If it's just a dust plug, it's not a good deal...) I need help. Thank you so much!
Good news, guys! Instead of using the USB JIG, I switched to a USB cable that was just on the charger of one of my old phones. I connected my battery-free Galaxy to my computer, pressed volume up + Volume Down + Power, and something magical happened: my computer made the sound of new hardware discovery! The screen lights up and displays the Samsung Logo, but it goes black after a few seconds. (I think the USB cable doesn't connect reliably, but only it works.)

You can try these if you haven't already. Sometimes 3's a charm... This article indicates there are hard points present, I can't verify that as you're deeper than I ever care to go. If that option is viable you better make sure you get it right as it bypasses all built in safeguards and as I understand it could completely brick the phone for good. Might want pay a expert with lots of experience try to recover it... or learn as you go.

I haven't a clue but for Windows you need the right USB drivers. You can try the find the right driver option as well as checking Event Viewer for error messages, etc. Or more Google searches...
I purposely avoided playing with the firmware on Androids including upgrades/updates. That works well for me.
