This is a great Cab!! Unfortunately, this one also prevents Spb Backup from running, like your recent "large title bar" cab. Bummer! Hope there is some way to fix this.

The Comm Mgr cab is in the Stickied "Latest Cabs..." thread in this forum. Its called the 6 Button Comm Mgr cab...

UNINSTALL FAILS...
Head's up to all, when I tried to uninstall RandomAccess, it errors out stating it couldn't remove all aspects of the application and gives the user to option to just remove from the Add/Remove list. DO NOT JUST REMOVE, the program and registry changes are still there.
If you want to uninstall randomaccess, use a file explorer (such as Resco) to remove \windows\randomaccess.exe
Then use a registry editor (such as Resco), do a search for "Dr Putt" and remove all keys that reference this string. There are multiple hits that this search will find, so make sure to get them all.
Then run a second registry search for "randomaccess" (should only be 1 hit on that search). For this string you will find that the installation process actually changed the RAI for Contacts. So you will need to change the following back to default:
Change \HKLM\software\microsoft\shell\rai\:MSCONTACTS\0 to "Contacts" (no quotes)
Change \HKLM\software\microsoft\shell\rai\:MSCONTACTS\1 to ":MSPOUTLOOK Contacts"
Lastly, remove the key at \HKCU\software\microsoft\today\keys\113\open.
NOTE: If you had your right soft key set to any other program, you will have to modify the last step. Likewise, if you use a different application to view Contacts, this would also alter the above instructions.
DISCLAIMER: Working with the registry should be left to experienced users, you can serious mess up your device if you don't know what you are doing. This is informational only, I don't warrant anything if it goes bad for you.

I tried this on my Prophet and it didn't worked. But the uninstalling was no problem and my contacts are working again

too bad it doesn't work on prophet

I was going to install this one, but I just found out. They are too many RA in the forum and I already had the same one as OP posted.
If you have installed the "HTC Random Access updated.zip" or "300_HTC_Random_Acces.zip". Those are same 66k in cab file.
Mine look just same as OP's, so I dont know if there is much in difference.
I hope this help with someone who has installed other version of RA.

SMS sluggish/slow whenever i type. need solution HELP ME =)

okay honestly yes i searched but sluggish and slow is very common word so i was getting all kinds of result ranging from drivers to device being slow...but i cant find a specific fix on slow sms.
MY PROBLEM: okay i am running on duttys 6.1 with threaded txt. and whenever i do type fast or whatever i have to wait a couple seconds before the whole txt appears on the screen which gets so annoying becuz i really dont have tme to wait. esp when i am a big txter.
so could i get some suggestions or fixes or anything on how to make the letter appear faster =/.. even my 8525 performed better. even my tmobile wing was faster when typing my text. so plz do help

From what I'm reading, it sounds like he has a performance issue though. I thought XT9 was just predicative text for QWERTY keyboards or am I missing something else here?

For some reason, sometimes, when xt9, the predictive text thing, is on, it causes the device to run sluggish. Therefore causing the text to show up sluggish.
Now I'm willing to admit that I could be wrong, but step one is the install the disable xt9 cab. Then we will see.

You are right, it is. BUT it's also slowing the input down badly while it keeps looking up the dictionary to try and predict those words, next to doing another whole lot of mess, like suggesting words and applying them on its own when you don't want to, effctively writing something different that what you intended to type, inserting spaces where you don't want them, etc...
Got me mad recently and once XT9 was disabled everything was fine. Strangely enough I've used the same ROM for quite some time now, with several hard resets / fresh reinstalls but weirdly never had the problem until the last reinstall. Go figure why.

i did install the disable xt9 cab and stuff (when ppl told me to install it)before posting this thread but it did do crap.... but then i i remembered going to start>settings>input>word completion tab> and then uncheck the the box SUGGEST WORDS WHEN ENTERING TEXT...
and then my texting improved. but chyea i did install the disable xt9 before posting this thread.

oh i did install the disaBLE XT9 cAB BEFORE POSTING THIS THREAD... didnt notice n e improvement but then i remembered going to start>settings>input>word completion tab> and then uncheck the the box SUGGEST WORDS WHEN ENTERING TEXT... it works! words got on screen way faster than before.

You have seriously become what is known as a "Serial Threader". Follow the links in my Signature, read them and understand them. Then come back and be a good forum citizen.
First, you need to post in the proper subforum. Questions about flashing DO NOT belong in the General subforum, they belong in the upgrading subforum.
Next, you need to post your questions in the correct threads (i.e. for the Rom you are using or in a thread that asks the same thing).
Then only time you should create a NEW thread is when there are no existing threads where your question fits. None of your threads fits this requirement.
Finally, be patient. Nobody at XDA-Devs is paid for their time, yes even the Moderation Team is entirely volunteer.
Take to heart the fact that XDA-Devs is just as much about the journey as it is the destination. If you don't care for the how but only want the bling then this is not the right place for you.

Touch-IT v4.0 "Landscape" RC1.1 and weather database editing

Hi All! Im using Touch-IT v4.0 "Landscape" RC1.1 right now. Any working solution to edit the weather database.
I would like to add my city, i was trying weather database editor 1.1 , 1.2 , and WeatherDatabaseEditor_1_1_Meins , with no success.
After i used any of those database editor , when i gioing to the weather tab , the touch flow interface just restarting ...restarting...and restartnig. Finally i have to do a hard reset...

The Same here. Try to edit the registry, but akkuweather set it to standard back. Im sure, the city iss correct.

Inside the windows folder there is the file "2330fc3c_manila". There is the problem for me, the cities can be chosen but they do not update. I have a "Connection Error" everytime I try, but the preinstalled cities work fine. With YYYYY's ROM it worked flawlessly, but there seems to be a problem here and I need to know if I am the only one with this problem.

The funny thing is, in YYYYY's TF3D2 ROM it works, in Itje's it doesn't. So where is the difference between them?

are you saying if you edit it and use it in YYYYYs rom then it works, or that it works without editing?
have you tried signing the file? I don't think it would be this, but you never know.

No, of course, I edit the file before. I have to because my hometown is not in there.
So I use the SQ-Editor to edit the database and copy it back into the windows-folder. With YYYYY's ROM I then can chose my town and get the weather forecast. In Itje's ROM I then can chose my town but I get no weather data.
What about signing the file? No idea how to do this but I didn't do for YYYYY's ROM as well.

my manila is CFC compressed, perhaps his is not?

Hmm...but could this really be an issue for a database-file? I always thought, cfc compression only affects images.
EDIT: Nope, his' is CFC compressed too.

Sorry, but i tryed this first in YYYYY's, because i used this Rom weeks ago. There ist no Chance, the same Error like in itjes Rom.
Can´t edit the City. After i edit the Reg Key, Accu Weather set Taiwan etc. as standard.

That's really strange. It worked perfect for me in YYYYY's ROM.
So if it's not the ROM, what else could it be. What applications did you install when using the ROM?
Maybe there is a problem with one of these.
Damn, it's really annoying to have a city in the weather tab that is 100 km away

I guess you can only set a "handfull" city´s in the Waetherpanel. All citys i try to added (the registry version) will set back to standard citys (taiwan, barcelona etc.)
Im not sure why, but i think accuwaether cannot added international cities.

Yes, it can.
As I said: I added "Judenburg" with the SQ Editor in YYYYY's ROM and the weather tab showed me the forecast.
Now the same city does not work.
There must be a reason for this.

Another SMS bug in Manila 3D!

Hey, before you start reading my oncoming wall of text, please read this: THIS IS NOT ABOUT EVERY THIRD SMS DISAPPEARING.
With that out of the way, I'll post my problem. See, I really love TouchFlo and it makes me wanting to use my phone more, so it's great to see so many roms incorporating this. itje's roms are praised all over the Xperia part of the forums and I like his roms as much as they do - there's just one problem. You know the sms program cooked into itje's TouchIT roms? The one with a seperate "Send" button and a black framed text entry box? Well, this text entry box won't stay on the button, right over the Windows Mobile softkeys, like it should. Instead, it floats about half an inch up from there, overlapping about 3 of the latest text messages in the conversation. This is really annoying, and makes me stick with the stock rom.
I noticed that somewhere in the TouchIT-threads someone also had this problem, and tried to solve it. After much searching I still can't find it, and belive me - I've searched like a freakin' narcotics dog.
My question is: Is there a way to delete this program and map the sms tab to open Windows Mobile sms? Or possibly a fix?
It's a shame some of us with this bug (I assume I'm not the only one) aren't able to enjoy all the great TouchFlo roms here because of this bug when maybe there's an easy fix. Since all the threads I've started before this one has been ignored, I hope this problem will get some attention anyways. I'm happy to test possible fixes, I'm used to re-flashing my X1 once a day. I don't think I'll come up with a fix myself since I don't have the knowledge of WinMo (yet!).

if it was any lower it would conflict with the slide out tab in landscape the one that has the icons.
this is not a bug, it looks like it's how HTC designed it..
I've answered this before (as have other people) did it really need another new thread?
If you really believe this is just a part of Itjes roms then search the forum, loads of people on different devices have exactly the same thing..
go get a blackboard and repeat after me..

Hmm, I really tried to find a solution (or in this case, answer) but so what? This thread dies out soon, and a mod is free to delete it if it's in the way of more important stuff. Sheesh, it's like everyone on the internet is obliged to have their period when a question instead of an answer comes up. This is merely a bug report and you should treat it that way I think - as something constructive. Since you answered it so many times, why not decide NOT to answer it or answer it in a nice way? Either is fine with me but thanks for telling me it's not a bug.
This leads me to my next question, thus not making this thread obsolete and reeking of flame war stench - Is there a way to map the sms text to opening the message in WinMo sms? This is not necessary, of course, but to overpass the TouchFlo sms althrouh would be great.

some people should read up the difference between show-stopper, bug and design-flaw though... (not sure if even the last one is right for this issue, what's the alternative?!)

Download mode9 editor, cruise the lua files until you find the one responsible for the messaging app, learn how to prgram lua and then code it to call tmail.exe instead of the HTC solution. Simple.
Or you could try cooking a ROM without the HTC message enhancements package?

Thanks for this answer, I've tried to cook my own rom but it came out rather buggy so I'll go with other roms while I'm learning.

Rather than being silly, you could A) search B) search C) press the allmessages which brings up the Winmo SMS app.
I even said it up the top (as I have before over and over again).
If there was a "fix" don't you think it would have been announced by now, or included in the roms?

May I offer a forth suggestion?
Try SSMaHo?
I have a bit of simpathy here, this 'feature' is rather unhelpful, but not as bad IMHO as the one that seems to lose my response mid type when I click somewhere wrongly (I honestly can't remember what) so I have to start again.

I tried that (or the newer one) that but couldn't get it too work, it was missing the hook.

Hmmm, oh well, at least it has been tried (and saves me having a go).
I think I may go back to 2.95... (but I'll have a play with a few of the new ROMs seeing as how I'll be going back to stock for returning the X1 on Sunday...)

I usually don't join new boards because I come of as a like a noob for the first couple of posts, but this place has become a new regular site I visit as I wait for a 2.1leak downgrader lol.
Anyhow, time for the reason of this post. I have been looking for a swype keyboard for the eris for sometime, and all I have been able to find is the open beta for Droid/nexus sized screens and the closed beta for everyone else. I did search here and only found skins for other phones.
So I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get swype on the Eris, maybe someone is part of the closed beta and want to share the file? or someone knows of an app in the marketplace that I'm just not seeing? Either way, much appreciated, I'm looking for a nice enjoyable stay here

Well I have this installed on my Eris, and I completed the tutorial, and I turned on Swype (check-marked the box), however I don't have the option on turn off the Touch Input keyboard, so when I go into texting, it uses the Touch Input keyboard and not the Swype one. I also have the 2.1 leak verizon 2 installed ...
Here's a ghetto screenshot of my keyboard settings options, it's attached.
I don't have a way to turn off the Touch Input, there's no checkbox or anything ...
Help?

Once swype is checked on that screen. Then you need to go into a text screen and long press on one of the input sections (where you type) when the "select input" screen comes up choose it then choose swype!

im the same way. The first thing I do is install swype. I have like 3 copies if like 5 versions just to make sure I well have swype for life no matter what.

I went to this link and when you click on the link for the updated swype download the next page states that the download has been removed do to being overwhelmed. Not sure if I was on the right track or not. Is there a way to get swype on my phone right now? If so, any links for download? Thanks.

yep, it'll work on non-rooted 1.5 phones. just use astro or something similar to install it, go to keyboards and settings and choose swype, also remember to turn off audio notifications or it wont work. then open up a message or search box or something and long tap on the text area, and choose swype.

Is anyone actually using swipe keyboard on Eris right now? Ive downloaded 4 different versions, the only one that actually works is an expired trial and just works like a regular keyboard. Is there some way around this?

i think the light version(correct me if i am wrong) has no expiration date. i am currently using that and love it! i have the .apk saved onto my sd card so whenever i flash a new rom i can re install it!

I'm using it. it worked on 1.5, and every rom I've installed since rooting.
go into keyboard settings, check swype. turn off audio notifications, then open up any text box (like a text message or the search bar)long tap on it, choose input selection, then choose swype.

ya you need the light version ..... check www.thefuzz4.net he has it up on there ...
or another option, over on the androidforums.com some one posted a themed version of swype lite .... looks like the stock htc keyboard ....

Over on androidforums, user "sh0ebox" re-skinned Swype for HVGA to look more like the standard HTC_IME keyboard, and compiled it so we can use it on non-rooted phones:
I recently compiled a MM theme for swype that skins it to look like the HTC_IME keyboard for the Droid (droid-life posted a blog about it a couple days ago).
Now, I am a Droid owner, but my girlfriend has an Eris and was complaining that she didn't like the appearance of swype and wished it looked like her default (HTC_IME) keyboard. So, since I had already made the theme for Droids, I thought I would convert it over for her. Since she isn't rooted, I compiled it into the swype APK for the Eris and loaded it on her phone tonight, and it works like a charm. Since I went through all the work of compiling the theme and the apk for her, I thought I'd share it with the rest of the Eris community. Hope you guys enjoy it

He also just posted up some black skinned keyboards with different colors when the buttons are pressed. Very nice looking imo.

I think now that we know you aren't spam, you could get away with posting the url to the post in plain text
