If you go to memory under settings->system, at the bottom of the screen, you can find files using storage memory over 64K.
There are two drop down choices.....
Search for:______________
Type: (this is where you choose "larger than 64 kb)
What am I suppose to type in the "Search for:___________" spot?
I typed in *.*
I typed in all files
I left it blank.
I've used it before but for some reason I'm being stupid and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
The reason I'm checking this out is because it shows I only have 26.39MB left for storage.
Other than a 26M backup file, nothing's changed so I'm looking to see what large file is being used.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi guys - I have a strange problem where files I have downloaded from PIE seems to be on the device (or SD card) but I cannot find them with File Explorer / Resco File explorer.
I have used Kaisertweak to set my download location as storage card\My documents\images (for images obviously - videos for video files etc).
When I download an image the picture is opened by straight after, so I know it is there - however in the property box it is listed as being in My Documents\\storage card\My documents\images. However I cannot find this directory, even by using the find file dialogue!
Has anybody else experienced this / found a solution?
I am especially concerned about there being a hidden directory in the device taking up valuable storage space - I believe I downloaded a 20MB video file at one point!
Cheers!
I think I ran into the same thing, and it was just a user misunderstanding of poor terminology. When the popup comes up saying "Would you like to save ... file to the Device" there are options for "Yes" and "Save As". If you choose yes, it doesn't seem to actually save it to the device (as you would expect, since it just asked if you want to save it) but I think that is intended to only temporarily save things like .cab files that are supposed to run and install something, kind of like the RUN option when opening a file on a regular PC. If you want to save it, I think the only way is to hit the "Save As" option and you can then choose the location.
EDIT: I didn't read your whole post before answering...as far as the Kaisertweak options for photos, video, etc., the same thing applies. Basically, the storage location defined in KaiserTweak doesn't seem to make any difference, as you still have to use the "Save As" option to get it to actually save.
Thanks snooginsguy - hopefully that means I don't have any large hidden video files clogging up my device memory!
I am surprised nobody has mentioned that the storage location defined in KaiserTweak doesn't seem to make any difference on the (long!) Kaisertweaks thread though - I would have assumed the default location is where files get saved if you don't specify a location (as they would on XP).
How can i move a program to an folder Example. I install a game it goes to the programs folder how can i move it to the games folder? Sorry my bad english
Open File Explorer and go to My Device \ Windows \ Start Menu \ Programs and find the game shortcut - the file will be only a few bytes in size (e.g. 25B).
Tap and hold on the shortcut and select Cut from the popup menu.
Then go to My Device \ Windows \ Start Menu \ Programs \ Games, tap and hold on a white area and select Paste from the popup menu.
That's it...you've moved it
Mark.
Is there any way to get icons on the folders created like on the standard games folder?
Hi i i cant seem to access the windows folder while browsing the contents of my phone via from a windows vista pc. i want to add a program called pocketCM to the start menu but unable to do so as the windows fodler doesnt appear or is hidden for some reason
Windows folder is hidden and will not be shown on default settings. You have 2 choices
1.To show Windows folder, Open Control Panel > goto Folder Options (may use the search box at top-right) and select the option to show protected operating system files.
2.If you don't want to do the above but somehow get something into it from Desktop, you can always copy it to the visible folders other than Windows and then use pocketpc' file explorer to move it inside Windows.
Regards,
Carty..
Thanks i can access it now. anotehr question. is it possible to create a short cut to the pocketCM program? the idea is to have the actual app stored on my memory card and use a short cut icon placed inside the windows start menu and launch it like that. is that possible? i have tried to copy the program back into the memory card and tried to right-click and select create shortcut but there seems to be no option to do that when i right click on the pocketCM file inside my storage card.
edit: is there also a way to add it to the "HOME" desktop thingy?
I usally get an option when installing a new program to put it either in main memory or the storage card. Some programs don't work well from the storage card, but I usually try them there first.
I was going to use my Tilt to download Vista SP1 at work the other night since the connection is much faster than mine at home.
I first tried Netfront 3.5 which gave a file could not be read error after about 1 minute.
Next I tried IE. I brought up the page and clicked download. It popped up and asked if I wanted to open the file after it finished. I clicked no to that then selected save as. I direct the file to be stored on my storage card and not the main system memory.
After about 5 minutes I get a beep and it says that I'm low on memory. Now I free'd up 1.2GB and the file is only 726MB. Are downloads saved to temp on the main memory before they finish then transfer to the micro SD?
If so how can I fix this. I have a rather small download cap at home and my jobs internet is ultra fast in comparison to mine. I really want to be able to download files like this if possible. This is one of the reasons I got the phone and I'm now rather disappointed that I can't download larger files.
Any programs out there that manage a download direct to the storage card or some other setting I can change to make this work?
Do search for "Advanced Config", and in that tool there is a way to change the temperary internet file location. I would imagine that the file is first caching itself into that folder (like normal windows) and then trying to copy it over to the flash card.
Man all I get is Edge, I hate you guys with uber fast phones.

Opera 9.5 (beta) can offer this service. You can configure the temporary download folder and the final download folder to be in the SD card. All these settings can be found in about:config, while opera beta can be found on this forum.

Okay I ended up downloading the advanced config. I see an option in there under IE settings that allows me to change the default temporary folder. What do I want to change this folder to though?
@ TrYde I really don't want to install Opera 9.5 (Beta) since it can't be uninstall ed but thanks for the info.
Edit In: Okay I think I got it in the right place. I created a temp folder on the storage card and wrote the directory as \storage card\Tempfiles. I then browsed my files on the storage card. It looks like in the tem folder I created advanced config wrote my cookies, history and temporary internet files into. I'll try this tonight at work and report back. A big +1 to you for letting me know about this program! I can't believe they would put such a limitation into the phone to begin with O wait yes I can.....
I just redid my Tilt Phone and put a bunch of software on it. Carefully watching my Device space i ended up with about 40 mb of programs on it out of the 125mb available.
Everything ran fine for a few days now all of a sudden.
Memory full to the rim. when i open up the File Browser in Windows Mobile Device Center it shows my device as maxed out in all RED with only a couple mb available.
If i open the device drive and select all of the files on my device and hit properties it only shows that my device has about 32mb of data on it yet its saying its completely full when i look at the actual drive.
How can this be happening and where is all this garbage that is filling up my phone?
Why can i not see the info on the card if its taking up space?
if you use PIE clear your cache and delete the files.open PIE>menu>tools>options>memory
Clear
Delete
instant memory..
There is a program called Oxios memory that is supposd to help clear up some memory and help out with the performace. I have been looking for the zip or cab file but havnet had any luck yet. Ill let you know if i find anything, unless someone else already has the file that they can post.
Okay maybe I had a brain fart for a minute and didnt think about just searching for it in google. But this is the link for it, this might just be what you are looking for.

Maybe finger trouble on my part.
I have tried to move 100+ files from one directory to another using Cut&Paste.
The destination directory has 200+ files, so Explorer window shows the destination directory window full of files. I cant find a location on the screen where the stylus will bring up a Paste prompt.
If the destination directory only has a few files, ie -10, then there is white empty space to bring up the Paste option.
Any suggestions ?
Click on the bottom right corner where it says "menu". Then click "edit" and then "paste".
Many thanks Orelsi.
Sorted.
