Hi all, I am using the standard alarm program (AT&T Tilt) and recently it has been doing strange things. When I disable all 3 alarms, the 6:00am alarm still goes off every morning. In fact, non of the alarms are even set to 6:00am anymore and the alarm still goes off for 6:00am. Very strange, just started happening about a week ago. Its been probably 3-4 months since I last hard reset the phone. Anyone have this issue before?
You better not post thread after thread, just use search before, and post problems in ONE thread!
Do a hard reset dude...
use clear temp to clear corrupted files http://freewareppc.com/download/utilities/cleartemp.shtml
cold boot (power off device and restart)
power off by pressing the power button for +5 seconds
do not perform stylus reset (its still warm boot)

Thanks for the help jahrami, I'll give that a shot.
kristoff_sz - Sorry, didn't realize it'd be better to make one post for 3 different issues. I did do a search for each of the issues and didn't see anything about any of them, except for the one in which I replied on someone elses post.

I had the same issue. Here are the links I used to solve the issue..

Now, whenever I turn off my alarms, I also run CheckNotifications to see if any "clock.exe" notifications were accidentally left behind in the notification queue. (note: don't clear the "clocknot.exe" notifications; those are different than the "clock.exe" ones).

This is my first time using this site and it's great! I'm sorry for any stupid questions I ask that may have been answered somewhere else already. I have the ATT Tilt/HTC Kaiser 8925 and love it...recently the ringer randomly switches to vibrate. It does it sometimes when I'm using the calendar/appointments and sometimes when I haven't even touched it. I've seen tons of posts on HTC Home versions that affect it but I found (then lost) a thread that said something about about a Registry Edit you could to to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated or any other thoughts that may help fix this. I keep missing calls and it's driving me crazy!! Thanks so much!
i haven't searched yet, but mine will switch to any level, i keep it on vibrate while at work(Kohl's) and today it switched to loud while in my pocket and i didn't realize it till my VC started to read an extremely long text in front of my boss. fortunately he thought it was the coolest thing ever but he said it will never happen again or i'm fired(ass hole) but yeah i will post what i find when i search later

Thanks so much for your help! Yeah, this is driving me crazy..pretty much every time I'm using the calendar/appointment fucntion, it switches automoatically to vibrate from ring and vibrate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!!
Are you using a stock ROM?
Unless people have had the exact same problem, it's going to be hard to help you without more info on what software is on your device.
If it does happen to be a random occurrence, a hard reset usually fixes it.
i have a similar problem with my tilt
i have noticed this hapening on my tilt which is running duttys latest rom. its only been happening in the last fed weeks.
ive also noticed that sometimes the phone will ring for a couple of seconds then go into vibrate mode as well.
i found my problem to be the settings in spb phone suite. if you have any profiles set etc if you change the system settings spb phone suite will automatically change them back after like 10-20 minutes. hope this is a help to some people. but i was about to go crazy till i sat and stared long and hard at my phone and realized what could also be the problem. i no longer have the issue!
i think this happens when your profile is set to automatic... it takes your status from your calender (if you have set it to busy in some meeting) it will switch to vibrate and if there is nothing for you in the calender it switches to the normal mode.....
I had the problem, then I flashed to L26 v6 and no more problems.

*Dumb question, but how and where do you SET your PROFILE? There's tons of options on the phone, but I don't know of anywhere to change something that says profile from automatic to something else? Any info. on that would be great and I'll try your solution. I'd rather not do a hard reset if I can help it. Thanks!
Having the same issue. Saw this post:

Not sure if it works yet, but good luck to others!
Mike
Looks like this might be due to HTC Home. It appears there is an update / fix:

Sorry if this has been asked/answered before.
I couldn't find anything with search.
When I leave my phone - charging or overnight - the clock seems to stop.
Currently, it's Sunday night and my phone thinks it's Saturday evening.
Reseting it fixes the problem.
Anything I should be doing I'm not or vice versa?
I have experienced a similar problem, where time stops but when I activate it it suddenly moves, two minutes per second until it catches up. Needless to say the alarm did not work either.
I have some experimenting to do to investigate the exact circumstanses when this occurs.
The same for me as I reported that previously but nobody answered
I set the alarm and now always rings at the same time even if not set. I can not turn it off. What about it?
are you sure your turning it off properly?
Uncheck the box in alarms, and for safe measure go ahead and un-select the days.
I have that problem intermittently as well. For me it just goes away for awhile after a soft reset.
If that still doesn't work maybe you can try changing the alarm sound to a blank audio clip?
I want to reflash my ROM because of this, but my usb port is all jacked up

mine broke as on my previous kaiser, why don't you flash it via your SD card? i had to flash it back to original spl and rom to do a warranty exchange, all was done from the memory card.

I've always found alarms under Windows CE pretty flakey, especially when I go across time zones. It seems clear to me the Windows Mobile people have never traveled across a time zone.
You can use FdcSoft TaskMgr (you'll have to google it) to delete the alarms in the event queue, I've seen up to three days of future alarms there even when I've cancelled them in the actual alarm.
Alan
Yeah I have had the same problem with the generic alarm built into the rom... it will go off when it's supposed to, but sometimes it won't turn off after i shut it off, and sometimes it will actually freeze the system, or it won't stop vibrating until I soft reset.
THe phantom alarm as it was named was a WM bug and can be solved via clearing event que "just like awbcmu said"
I use SKTools to clear the notification que "have never had probs with alarm as since the day i read posts about long time ago, have always used another alarm program"
Hi Guys,
Could someone tell me why my 2 weeks old Galaxy S (Service Provider: Bell) turns it self off out of the blue?
It happend twice already, the phone was on my pocket, I pushed the on/off side botton and nothing happens, the screen is pitch black!!
This is an irritating issue as I'm forced to physically take out the phone from the case and remove the battery and put it back on to turn on the phone.
Does anybody whats causing this issue? and how to fix it ?
Your help is much appreciated!
Cheers
Also, I was wondering if I do a factory reset to try solving the random shutting down problem, will I have to re-purchase all the apps I bought from the Market?
Send for warranty is needed I think

No, the info that you purchased the apps is stored in your Google account. So if you use the same Google account as you're using now as your primary account after reset, you can download all those apps for free. (Primary account is the Google account you first associated with the device.)
i had the same problem with 3 different bell vibrants. About 6 days ago, i bought a new sim card from bell for $5, and it has not happened since. I bought my phone from Bestbuy, but bought my new sim card from Bell store because perhaps the bestbuy sim cards are outdated. Hopefully it stays ok.
One thing i did notice was that when my phone would turn off by itself, it was always in an area where there was bad reception. Maybe a link.
I found that it happened when I installed a different launcher other than Touchwiz. I was using LauncherPro, uninstalled it and everything worked fine. I installed ADW and everything is fine so far.
I saw this thread yesterday and was thankful mine hadn't developed this issue. And then last night after about two hours idle time, my SGS switched itself off and the power button wouldn't respond at all. The only way to revive my beloved phone was to do a hard reset (i.e. removing the battery).
For what it's worth, the only "mods" I've made are installing a handful of apps. No new launcher, no custom ROMs etc.
I'm tempted to give Voda a ring and ask for a new SIM. But this really smells more like a hardware fault to me. A faulty SIM shouldn't result in a handset switching itself off, I'd think...
i'v encountered smailar problem , first i thought my phone turned itself off, later i suspected some apps i'v installed ( setCPU, autokiller etc), after while and digging, i found that i'v installed "Android Tweak" , it has an option to disable screen dim, and i'v used that option, so i changed it back and the problem is gone.
in Spain we have the same problem and no solution by now

Mine just died again ten minutes ago. I guess it's a possibility, but considering the number of bugs that we're all discovering with the hardware and software, I'm suspecting it's yet another dodgy batch of phones from Samsung.
I just bought two Galaxy S and I am having same problems with both. I called Belll and they said they never had this kind of problem before. I had installed few apps and thought may be those apps were causing the problem, but even after deleting the apps..phones are powering off itself...
Did any one find the solution yet??
Same problem here, and from what i am hearing is becoming frecuent among galaxy owners. Im amazed something this important hasnt made the news , i mean, its a huge malfunction issue .
I had the same issue.
I called up Samsung support and they asked me to do a phone reset. I didn't try that, but I upgraded the firmware and it's gone now. I suspect resetting the phone will also solve the issue.
This happened to me for the first time today as I woke up and it wasn't dark outside. When I looked to see what time it was my phone (that I use as an alarm) was off!!
This is the first blemish on an otherwise outstanding experience. But it is a major one. I will assume that it is somehow related to something I've installed. But I'm not looking forward to figuring it out, since I've got a lot of apps

Good luck. I did a factory restore the other day to see if that would help. It didn't. Like you I use my SGS as an alarm... I woke up two hours late this morning because my phone had switched itself off in the middle of the night.
I'm currently waiting for a replacement handset. I'm not holding my breath that the new hardware won't have exactly the same bug though...
Mine started doing this yesterday...same with a bunch of coworkers that have the same phone. We think it may be related to bad reception.
Sigh
My phone just started doing this in the last couple of days.
I've also noticed sometimes it gets into a state of continuously saying "usb debugging connected" and then "usb connected" and just continuously keeps displaying those even though it has no usb cable anywhere near it..
Havent flashed the phone for about a week now and it was fine for 3-4 days after the flash so no idea what is going on..
Anyone else seen those usb messages? They come and go.. but it seems when they come its usually when my phone turns off..

Thats funny...because the only time it has happened to me is at work, where the phone is struggling for reception. It has turned off a total of about 8 times over 1 month. It has never turned off anywhere else (except one other time i was getting bad reception in the forest, and a few minutes later it was off)...strange
this is the second time i noticed this. it maybe happens every night but i usually dont have my phone in my room. in the middle of the night, for no reason that i can find my phone will play about 30 seconds of loud annoying music and then ..... NOTHING!! Last night it did it twice, about an hour apart.
I am not sure if it is or is not a ring tone. it is FOR SURE NOT my ring tone. I have tried to find some place that might have an alarm and don't know of one. I have looked at my start up apps, and can't find anythong... even looked at what is running .. problem is, to figure it out would require i wait up all night for it to happen again.
I have rooted and upgraded to ICS .. not a custom rom .. i dont remember if the last time was before or after root or rom change. where do i start to find a fix ... it is probably going to be something simple ... I have ruled out email and sms messages because it doesn't happen when i receive either. shEEEsh!

I wish it was re-booting because it feels like my phone is possessed.
When it happened in the wee hours of the morning I picked it up trying to turn off the volume. I looked to see is anything else was happening at the same time- It wasn't. Tonight I will pinch myself to make sure I am NOT dreaming.
It is that horrible ringtone like music that comes on every phone that Some people actually use.
