Sim Unlock - Any other way? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

People,
Recieved my HTC touch this morning, locked on Orange UK... im on T-Mobile....as I have been a member for some time I have gone thru the Olipro channels and messaged him for possibly free unlock code.... im too exited and cannot wait so I am just wondering if anyone knows any other methods?
or do I just sit tight and wait to hear from Olipro?

You can always use Olipro's paid for method? for donations over £10 (i think). Check out his page HERE for more information - if you can not wait - Its well worth the Money...

Hmmm I might just do that..... anyone know if this instant?
if not then I might just wait to see what he comes back with....
Thanks

I think it would be quicker, than waiting for a response on the PM from him and besides he may look at you post count (no offense) and decide not to to offer for free due to not meeting the criteria below.
you want a free SIM Unlock right? well tough ****, there's no such thing as a free lunch... if you want to get something, you need to give something.
1) contributing forum members... PM me for a free unlock with your IMEI & email. - if you have an account that has a) existed for a good few months and b) you actually contribute to the site (technical wizardy, or general helpfulness), then just drop me a message and it's yours.

it is worth to wait and get your phone unlocked.

We can sim unlock any HTC device by code within 24 hours (sameday unlocking). this is not a free service. open your htc to use with any network, anywhere in the world. we can even help you to change the OS language ex- french to english after unlocking. reply me for more details.

I purchased an i-SmartSim 2008 SIM for a few pounds from dealsextreme.
My diamond was locked to orange but I am using my t-mobile sim.
It was quick, simple and effective.
The advantage of this gadget is that you can use it with any phone, take it out of old one and pop into new one.
Just slip it between the sim and your phone, and you`re away

I would recomment this method as well, it can be a bit expensive but you can use it on a wide range of phones.

It cost me $7 inc p&p, and as I`m in the UK the exchange rate makes that amount pitance!
Seems a bargain, considering the cost of the other options
Best £3 I ever spent!

watch out the sim card holder, might get damaged if you put it with these magic simcard thingy. cos you need to insert two simcards together.
i guess best thing is to unlock your phone permanently with software / or 8 digit unlock code

I'll take that wing off your hands for the low low price of free! lol.
If you end up stuck and have to purchase a Sim Unlocker code, I just got mine from "Primo-Mobile-Net" through their E-bay store, for $24.99. Got my code within 24 hours and it worked without a hitch.
Good luck!

Unlocked Tytn II for Sale with Accessories $200

I have an unlocked TytnII for sale. It is in great shape but does seem to have the backlight bug. I have always managed it with S2U2. Great for anyone who loves flashing or cooking. I moved on to the touch pro so this needs a new home.
Includes box-wall charger-usb cable-extra battery-wall/usb charger for battery-seidio holster-seidio innocase
Accessories alone are worth it! $200 plus shipping.
Sorry....that is $200US + shipping. I am in Arizona and would prefer shipping to the US as shipping international is cost prohibitive. However if you want to pick up the cost of international shipping we can discuss!
Let me know,
Josh

Would that be 200 New Zealand Dollars? It would help your chances of selling it if you tell us where you are (and complete your forum profile for country/network while you're at it). Different countries have different wall jacks/mains voltages and network types. It's essential info missing off your ad.

Thanks. It does annoy me when people (any people) assume everyone knows where they are so sorry for having a go at you! This forum would be a better place if everyone filled in their country, network and general region for others to see. If everyone showed that info, we could see just how diverse the XDA-DEV community really is!

Luckily for me (and unfortunately for you), 3 hours of work later and three trips to the hardware store for tools I got my Tilt working like brand new. It sure sucks that you have to dissemble the entire damn thing just to get at the screen though, heh. I'll mention your tilt to anyone I know who might be interested, but I'm sorry for getting your hopes up.

Unlock and flash

I bought a T-Mobile G1 off ebay, but its locked
If I flash the rom will it unlock it? I have no reply from seller and tmobile wont give me unlock code unless original user contacts them (must be 90 days use)
Or anyone know how to unlock? I'm in Australia
Thanks.

When you flash the phone it will not unlock it. You can use one of the other unlocking services they offer online.
Do they work? Is there anyway I can get it done free?

Yes they work. Alot of people on here have done it. The only way you can get it done for free is thru T-Mobile. Even tho you bought the phone second hand they should still do it for you, but being your in Australia I don't know if there policy is different. You can try to find someone you trust in the US and give them you IMEI and have them call it in for you.
Good luck with tmo, I tried everything even when I was a customer and they said wait 90 days. After I cancelled with them and asked again they said you have to be a customer with G1 data plan for 90 days. Other then that there is NO NO NO free way to unlock.
I have unlocked my girls G1 and my own with www.unlock-tmobileg1.com for $24 bucks and I got the code in about 20 minutes, another member here asked me what to use and I pointed him to them, he got his code in 12 minutes. I heard you can do it on ebay for a little less but I never tried it so I can't say for sure.

Yea I don't think that would work for me considering I had that line for about 3 years. And I won't get rid of my other line with the G1 so they would be like you get service on one phone but not the other.
Tell them your son is in a boarding school out in the boondocks and he gets no service there. Just use the coverage map and see what area closest to you get little to no service. They will take 3 or 4 days to check it out then you can get out with no ETF. Gotta be crafty with your lies, just cuz you had service for 3 years doesn't matter much since now your son is going to school in a area without any reception, with you being a long standing customer AND having other lines they would rather keep you happy and lose 1 lines then risk losing you completely.

About to order; sanity check my order please?

I'm about to order the following two things from Handtec to ship to the US:
http://www.handtec.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s6-64gb-black-sapphire.html
http://www.handtec.co.uk/handtec-samsung-region-unlock-service.html
Out of the box, can I immediately:
use it on AT&T in the US with LTE support?
use it on T-Mobile in the US with LTE support? (I intend to switch in the coming months)
flash custom ROMs? (is it bootloader unlocked?)
root it? (seems like a pretty confident yes, but I'll still ask)
I don't want any unexpected additional steps I need to take in order to do the things listed above. Am I good to go?
Also, if I see defect(s), such as scratches on the underside of the glass that I've read about, how good is Handtec's customer support for me to return for a new one?
From what I've read in other threads, most posts seem to indicate that what I'm ordering will be fine for me, but I'd like a sanity check on my scenario. Thanks!

Nope >_>
I ordered it while it said "DUE IN SOON" (ie. not in stock) and they were courteous enough to tell me this on Tuesday:
We are contacting you with regards to your recent order. We would just like to make you aware that the ‘Samsung Galaxy S6 64GB - Black Sapphire’ you have purchased is only available for pre-order at this time.
As soon as the item becomes available we will dispatch your order and send you tracking information immediately.

But it has yet to come back in stock. Just waiting patiently at this point.
It has shipped! Also, I remade the order to get the white one instead of black, FYI. I figure the white one will get less hot while in my car dock under the sun.
According to the tracking, I'll get it tomorrow morning.
Tested with colleague's AT&T nano SIM card and it worked fine. Don't know if it connected as LTE though, does "4G" on the status bar equate to LTE or just HSPA? I was going to just do a speed test to know that way but he didn't want to use his data.
My SIM is still micro size so I can't test this myself yet.
It definitely can do T-Mobile LTE, I got 56mbps down and 23.79mbps up.
It's AT&T that I'm less sure of because I only get 15 down and 5 up. It probably is LTE though, and AT&T just sucks. Can't wait to switch to T-Mobile!

Quote to fix my 6T (Get ready to laugh)

So my 6T quit reading sim cards, after about 20 times trying to reboot and install the sim and switch slots etc, the tray broke and the sim fell into the phone. I WAS able to dig it out and put the SIM back into her G6 (my girlfriend liked my 7 pro and was gonna use my 6t I had as spare)
I gave up after factory resetting, flashing the ROM etc. and decided to send it in. I had a feeling they MIGHT try to hit me for a new motherboard because I used a pick to get the SIM card out (I had no choice, she needs the phone for work) and I would have been OK with paying the 150 dollars or whatever. Look at this comprehensive parts list. I'm pretty sure it's a new phone.

Seems a little high considering you can get certified refurbished for about $400.
I got mine used in pristine condition for $350 (8/128 midnight black).
That is a pretty extensive list they made though.( You even scratched the sapphire camera lens ?)
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6010 using Tapatalk
lol no, everything worked fine aside from the sim card. phone had normal wear and tear on it.
I would get it fixed. Much better deal than buying a new one :silly:
Not sure what the internal Sim card contacts look like but maybe you could watch a tear down video and get your own repair kit. It might be more minor than you realize. "Jerry Rigs Everything" is pretty great.
Lol, that's an interesting quote...

Lol u think they come on here and look at users price quotes? I'm sure anyone can get one for the same price they're offering u. The 7 is out their just dropping what they can because they'll have a large influx of refurbished 6ts. It should cost 20-$30 to get your slot fixed contact a real cell phone technician or do it yourself it's not rocket science
This is very interesting and providers great insight to those tear down videos. They could use this to help determine the real cost somewhat to build the phone.
Motherboard, camera, glass...expected to be expensive due to complexity of manufacturing and technology...the .05 cent screen protector...haha.
