Today I have realized that the push to talk button on my diamond is not working... Is there a way I can get it works??
Where do you have a push to talk button? Haven't known so far that the diamond has PTT.
..I also searched left, right, up, down..no button. A hardware bug ;-)

Hardware bug ? dunno. Does yours have wings? Perhaps HTC should have named it Angel? Anyway, since ghosts seems to be involved
Other people have made a thread about PTT button, so I would guess it exists

For some reason, my dpad backlight wont turn on anymore--not sure what happened. I'm on XDA Live 2.0 and i can't recall when it didn't turn on anymore, i just realized it yesterday so any help would be great. Thanks
The D-Pad on the Kaiser is not lit......never was.....
Or do you mean the keays surrpunding the D-Pad? There I can´t help you...
You need to post XDA Live Rom issues in the proper thread (and forum)...
FYI, this is a common issue with any Rom that uses AT&T 3.51 as Base Rom.

Yes i meant the surrounding lights. Question posted in proper topic.
Hi all!
I'm here around trying to pick up the solution but i've noticed only some trials and not definitive solvings to avoid using power button and prevent the final damage of it(how many times a day you push on it?).
Anybody found the solution?
(I'm starting to make bad dreams with huge POWER BUTTONS around me trying to beat me down!)
Thanks in advance from every Diamond's owner
P.S.: i hope you'll understand my sporadic english language

Not more often than on any other device, WM or other, and I have yet to have the power button fail on me. How often do you use the touchscreen? The scroll wheel? Etc...
P.S.: Pulling out the stylus will bring your phone to life......but than again, the stylus will wear out more quickly...
It´s meant to be used - use it!!
Start Menu->Settings->System->Key Lock
And if you really don't want to touch your Touch (!) Diamond but want to turn it on, you can take your wife/girl friend phone and call you .
And perhaps could a G-Sensor SDK master create an app that turn on the Diamond when you shake it ^_^.

right..solved so..
Seriously, i think the best is the solution above(use it) and do not stay confused if it could be unserviceable in a few weeks...
I don't think that HTC made something without thinking about this problem(am i right?)

you are so naive... i wish HTC worried a little bit more about the quality of its products and not about how to get them out before the iphone....

Try a Hard Reset
Yeah , but as i said i dont want to lose the data on the phone. I wish there was something else to do. Nobody knows if theres a way to get past this without losing data that is not on the internal storage, and all the tweaks i have made etc
you should still be able to connect via active sync and explore your device to retrive data?

Do as Windoze suggests and after that do a hard reset!
Man.. Not my lucky day. I just lost internet connection for an hour. I took what i could and did a hard reset. Now i have to tweak everything again from start and all the settings changes i made before Thanks for helping, nonetheless!
How do i update to a newer ROM?

Thanks a lot, sir. I bow for you, hehe
Im gonna go with the HardSPL mentioned in the guide you gave me. OliNex. I hope there is no major difference between the HardSPL's out there, that would make this a stupid choice for the official 1.93 danish ROM

Yeah. Although im not on that crapsite anymore. I think i got this going right now. Just waiting for my phone to charge as i read that it should have more than 50% charge on it. Flying Trickster is a somewhat popular name on the worldwideweb, too, though
I flashed with the official 1.93 ROM, and installed everything back on. Changed every single tweak i had made etc etc. My god it took a while. But i must admit. The 1.93 rom is wicked fast compared to the old one
Looked around, really couldn't find much info on this anywhere specifically for the N1.
Is there a way/app/hack to get the power button to act as a mute button while in a call ?
Thanks!
Tom
I haven't heard of any, but I find it hard to believe anyone would actually code that. The N1s are well known to have issues with the power buttons wearing out which will lead to them not functioning at all. Using the powerbutton for additional things on the phone seems like it would just accelerate the issue.
This isn't to say that someone won't develop it, but I think it would be a generic app and not something with the N1 in mind.

Hi, ty for the reply
Didn't know about this im sorry to find out about this now that i got my N1.
I hope its just a localized issue and only happening on a batch of N1's. Since i got my N1 only recently i wouldn't be surprised if HTC knew of the problem and fixed it mid mfr process.
I'm also looking for something like this for the N1, and wouldn't mind paying for a app that could make it happen!
Hey all,
for those of you who are experiencing irresponsive back/home buttons you could try this below:
go to settings -> language&keyboard ->HTC sense input -> advanced -> calibration tool
When you're calibrating the keyboard, press the keys very lightly, after you're done you should have a better back/home key response.
At least it worked for me hope this helps!!!
Just calibrated it, see how it goes during the day and report back .
i guess it has to do with stock setting were meant for you to press it normally(harder/more precise?) to be responsive, so if you calibrate it to be responsive to light touches, pressing the keys as you would normally would make it better.
but then again its just my own thoughts, hope it helps
I didn't realise it registered the firmess of touch? Just thought it was on/off input?
Aah excellent ill try this
I wonder if this has any effect on the sensitivity while having a screen protector.
had a go should be able to tell after a days use
If anyone can test this with the Spigen Glas.T that would be great. Thank you.
Doesn't work im afraid . Its definitely a software issue though, hence you can lock and unlock and the buttons work again. Confident it will be fixed in the next update.

Yes...anyone try it?
so this problem with capacitive home/back buttons is REALLY pissing me off.
went to sprint store, asked to see their display unit, told them the problem i had. guy said "I NOTICED THAT TOO". used their demo unit, EXACT same problem. Talked to some people on IRC who also noticed it.
*really* hope its software-fixable because I love the phone otherwise
It worked for me. Seems either way it's a software issue.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Will test it a bit more but it seems like it worked for me.
Thanks TC!
I've used adb shell # getevents to see that FREQUENTLY tehre is just no event generated when pressing the home and back buttons. It *is* a hardware problem. I've never been so annoyed, displeased, or disappoined with a phone. I'll be returning it. Even tho the model I saw in the store had the exact same problem. If my next one has same problem I'll give the ol F**K YOU to HTC and not look back.
Also, havent found a way to get software keys on it...which MAY be an acceptable alternative to broken hardware buttons

an OTA released here in Taiwan , and seems it got this issue fixed. I don't have the phone but I suppose this will go to your phone soon. If it does't please don't bash me:cyclops:

What OTA is that specifically? And did it specifically say it fixed that? This is clearly a widespread problem.
