Hello People,
I've looked around and can only find details for remapping the PTT button, which has no affect on the button on the headphones.
If you double press the button it calls the last number you dialed, If you press and hold it, it opens voice commander (if installed) But ive installed Microsoft Voice Command and now the function has stopped working all together, do any of you know how to manipulate this button in the registry?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I'd appreciate to assign the 'volume' window to a hardware button - let's say the Button 6 (Voice Dial, which i never use).
The volume window is the one, you normally get then tapping on the volume icon on top of the screen.
This window should open/close by pressing the hardware button. Once it is open, I can set the actual volume with the Jog Wheel.
Any help is appreciated!
Chris
You can try something: install Wisbar Advance 3 just for trial. i know that you can show that "volume bubble" by pressing buttons on the taskbar, and i know it offers some links in the programs folder for utilities, like switch task etc., but i'm not sure if it brings a new link for that volume bubble (i unfortunately uninstalled WA3 yesterday so i cannot test - maybe someone who has it installed can verify the links so you don't have to install it...)
With Wisbar Advance 3 it works
Chris
hmmm, can you post the content of the link that does that ? or the .lnk file ? so others can do this without WA3...
Another suggestion: AEButton plus
I searched all over the place to remap the PTT Button on my AT&T Tilt without altering the ROM. I don't use or want to use Push To Talk services which made the PTT Button useless, Remappers weren't working and the PTT settings screen kept poping up every time I hit the button.
So I tried the following solutions:
1: How to assign a shortcut to EndKey, SendKey, Power Button, PTT Button!!
+ This allowed me to assign another program to the key (Voice Command, Short_PTT.lnk). And it worked fine.
- However, the PTT Settings kept popping up also, though it would go away if I just ignored it.
2: Cingular ROM users: PTT function hacked!
+ Though this is not really for the Tilt/Kaiser, and it would not accept any remap in accordance with its directions, it did disable the PTT Settings program from rearing its ugly head.
++ Combined with solution 1 above, this button does exactly what I want it to do!
Thanks to the 2 contributors, HMA4 and SLEUTH255, Cheers!

Did you delete the PTT registry entry? Otherwise, your remap won't stick.
What I did was
1) delete the PTT registry entry
2) remaps the button using SPB Pocket Plus.
I searched but could not find the registry entry, and I have pocket plus, remapping wasn't working, probly due to the registry (and I'm not very comfortable editing that anyway). This has stuck through several resets, and can be uninstalled if i wish, maybe you could elaborate because I may not understand any negative implications in this method.
I'm pretty new at pocket PC's.
Thanks.
Here ya go!

Here's mine,
1)Disable PTT (Credit to vpoet)
2)In the registry navigate to the hklm\services\ptt
Back it up and delete it (yes the entire key)
3) Install cab
It'll map a new button 6; (two functions-button 6 press and button 6 hold) and also allow you to change whatever is on the button using the button menu in settings.
(It's default icon for button 6 is Voice Speed Dial, and button 6 (hold) is record, but you can change either key to what you want.)

Thanks, I didn't know that I could remap it with SBP Pocket Plus, but it works like a charm.
actually, i found this to be the absolute simplest solution available (no programs, just three registry tweaks):

is there a way to remove PTT from 'Programs' also?
Looking for some help with a registry hack for my Tilt. I have remapped my PTT button as Button 6 and Button 6 (hold); and have assinged them to Phone and Voice Dial using the "assign a program" drop down menu at the bottom of the Settings/Buttons function. What I would love to be able to do is to assign Button 6 to a function that would both answer an incoming call, and turn on speaker phone at the same time. Has anyone seen a hack that would do this? Appreciate the help.
I believe at one point I could assign MS Voice Command to an icon and add the icon the programs list, it now only appears under buttons and I have to use my only available hard button to get it to launch. Why cant they make that big middle button a press and hold option as well?
Any ideas?
TIA

Voice Command on Diamont
Have you tried using AEBUTTON PLUS? You can assign the center button to anything. I havent installed Voice Command yet but I do have Aebutton plus working on the center button to launch PI Informant Calendar. It should work with voice command also.
Press and hold the "green" call key.. While on the hope screen.. You'll get the voice command running
That's interesting, I couldn't get it to install properly. Can only see it in settings and not in programs.
i just figured out how to get it to work....
vc1.6 i installed it 5 times and did not work after i assigned my only f))king button it just one beep not like used to 3 beeps so i create a icon in programs dir and then link button to that it works perfect.
So, I've hooked up with AEButtonPlus and finally got my Fuze keys mostly set to what I want. Great program, and no hesitation on my part to pay the $7 registration. Nice work.
One bit of weirdness, though, is that when I "ADD BUTTON" to create a new button that represents the PTT button, it does so and creates a button called "BUTTON #00ED".
I can assign a SINGLE, DOUBLE and TRIPLE press assignment, and everything works. If I assign a LONG PRESS to "Toggle vibrate mode", that actually also works fine, ***BUT***, it also remaps it so that the LONG PRESS on the HOME key with the same function.
So, further experimenting... If I set PTT LONG PRESS to launch the calculator, when I get out of the AEButtonPlus Config screen and go into Mail or whatever, then do a HOME KEY LONG PRESS, it launches the Calculator.
Weird. Anyone else notice this? And if so, any work arounds?
I'm not using the LONG PRESS PTT function any more until I can figure this out.
You may want to do it again.
I don't have the problem with long press #00ED, but with volume up/down. Things work as I want them to do until I answer a call.
Yes, there is a definite linkage with the HOME key and the PTT key.
If I short-press the HOME key, it does take me to my home key, and then it emulates pressing a SINGLE PRESS of the PTT key, whatever I have that configured as.
Since I have SINGLE PTT configured as the Start Key, it actually works out in a livable way. A Short press on the HOME key gets me to my Today screen with the Windows menu active. A long press on the HOME key just gets me to my Today screen.
This linkage between the two keys are odd.
