Is there anyway to reduce the threaded SMS font size of a conversation in WM6.1? I searched and found some other posts, but not a definite answer and they were for WM5&6. The text size by default is huge!
Thanks in advance.
Bump...
... can't seem to find the answer to this. I see people talking about editing file with Total Comander and that's fine... but my text was small and all of the sudden it was huge. My wife won't admit it... but I think she was messing with my phone. Thanks guys.
I have been trying to get my text size increased in the reading pane of the threaded sms... so if you find out what your wife did let me know!!
is the threaded sms capability limited to the cooked rooms only at this point ?
i just got a tilt and from all the searching i did, thats the feeling i get.
at&t tilt
shipped rom 1.62.502.0
It's only...
... on 6.1 ROM's. Just flash one of em and you'll have it. Still can't find out why the font got larger... but only in the threaded SMS/MMS... not in IE.
I have original ROM and threaded messages.
u need to change the font size via outlook or any email acct.. thats the only way i can across it.. open a email change view to smaller or smallest text and it changes txt msg size too

I can confirm that this works. Came across this way by accident a couple weeks ago! Looks way better now!
yea same happened to me. but thankfully i use palm threaded now. the 6.1 threaded is junk compared to palm!

Cool, thanks for this!
I didn't even realize that I had a desire to use a smaller text size in the SMS app until now
Settings>system>screen there should be another tab for Text Size. Adjust this to your liking and it will also be the setting for emails and sms.
but that also changes other text size which maybe be undeseriable
Hi guys, I'm pretty new here but I've searched endlessly here and around google and a few other search engines and no solution to my question.
When I try to send an Audio message, video or pic message I'm only limited to 300k, is there any way to increase the size of this? It's really becoming a problem for me.
You should buff up your search skills because this question has been asked many times but no worries, heres your soluiton:
MMS size to 1MB
Thanks to over2land
\HKLM\Software\ARcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\ Config\UI\Size Limit
change this size limit to 1024000
now you should be able to send up to 1MB over MMS.

Theres gonna be several keys, Wap1SendLimit1, Wap1SendLimit2, Wap1SendLimit3 and the same for Recieve. After you've edit the corresponding keys, SendLimit1 and RecvLimit1, exit out of your registry editor and soft reset your device, then go to messaging MMS options, Servers, select your mms connection settings then on the bottom theres yoru send limi. There should be 3 options and one of them would be 1000K or whatever you set the key to in your registry.
If that's too much for you, look in the list of cabs on this thread, there's one there for a 600 limit - I'm sure there's another kicking around on here for larger sizes

I think other phones have receive limits, so you might want to check the larger files you send are actually getting there....
Good luck.
Hi I have a AT&T Tilt and when i receive a mms pic there very tiny. Id say 1/2x1/2 inch.
Im not sure what up with this. I have Centennial Wireless for a provider.
Any help would be nice. Thanks.
I can send pics just fine and there normal also
its your carrier, there resizing the pic, or the pic your getting is only that size to begin with, try sending one to yourself if it comes in smaller than what you sent its being resized by the carrier.
anyone having problems sending MMS to anyone with an iphone? i was able to send MMS to my friend who has an iphone with evil NXsense ROM but having no avail with cm6.1. my friend is getting an error saying that the message is too large.
i did a clean wipe and install
i can send MMS to my other friends, but just not those with iphones.
any solutions?
thanks in advance
lol I could start by saying IPHONE SUCKS! but i won't be mean
Anyways, did you check to see if the your phone is converting the files to the right format/size? Check on your friends' phone to see how big the file is and which format...then try to send the same file to the iphone again...make sure that iphone is actually able to receive MMS from other people!
i knew that was coming xD
how do i check if its converting the files to the right format/size?
he is not getting anything. just an error saying:
"one or more of the message components have been deleted by MMS Adapatation. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your terminal"
hes able to send and receive MMS fine. but the weird thing is, i was able to send him MMS when i was on the evil NXsense rom. since moving to cm6.1, no more goes D:
thanks in advance
CM6 doesn't limit MMS, if I recall correctly, like NXSense does. And iPhone can't receive messages larger than 600kB (Android can send/receive up to 5MB or so). Cut the files you're trying to send in size.

agreed, but doesn't the carrier limit file size? mine limits it to 600kb and it shouldn't even send if it goes higher than that...
As for how to looks at the size, just send the mms to some other phone that works and on that phone check the properties of the file....if the size is <= 600kb then try sending it to the iphone dude
Also, I've had a few problems with files not converting and I found out that when sending an MMS, if I attach a file and click on "Capture Picture" and take a picture instead of selecting a file in the gallery, it seems to convert them....try that!
alright it sending 5mb files. how does one go and cut the size?
Stupid question.. But is the iPhone a First generation iPhone 2G? If it is, and that model is on AT&T it does not support MMS at all. They even go so far as to block the IMEI on that phone so even third party apps won't send or receive MMS messages properly. What version of the iPhone is it?
sorry, i should have included that in my original post. its the 4g

Either using any picture editor / resizer, or trying to add picture to MMS in a different way, which will auto-resize it (from MMS menu, maybe).
Check the size of the MMS by sending it to someone else, as suggested above.
Its something with att because my girlhad an iPhone and now has a captivate. Neither received my mms
Sent from my Nexus One

Read my second post again...the last paragraph I tell you how to do it so it automatically adjusts the size...try it and give us feedback!
nope doesnt work for me. thats how ive been sending them by going to text msg > attach file > capture picture > *takes picture* > says converting to MMS
im starting to think its the ROM instead of the phone D:

Yeah, that's kinda odd.
I can't talk about personal experience since I just switched to Cyanogen and haven't sent an MMS yet (I really never do anyways )
You should try and report it to Cyanogen, maybe they'll get it fixed
MMS gets a bit confusing to me when wanting to send group text messages...
I am using Textra on Verizon but regardless I have seen some apps default MMS to 1MB but should that be a smaller setting. To be on the safe side should I set that to 300 KB so I am sure I have no failed messages?
Additionally, how can I get around the SMS sending limit on Lollipop is I am rooted and using Xposed. Is there a way to increase the limit a bit higher?
