Hi,
I think, increasing ringtone loudness depends on file in device '\windows\AudioPara3.csv', but I don't know exactly, how to modify this file. Maybe some more skilled people here in this forum can solve this very annoying low ringtone problem.
can be fixed
just put the mp3 files into the root dir of your internal storage and goto Settings > Audio > and choose the ringtone from there, that should keep the ringtone as high as it can be
Cheers

Hey guys, I am not sure whether there has been a fix found for creating your own mp3 ringtone sound louder with your XPERIA X1 without messing with your phone settings.
So what I thought was why not mess with the mp3 itself and see if it makes any difference. Again, I don't know if this has been suggested before but I was wondering if anyone would like an mp3 file they have that I can test and post back here just to see if it works.
Any volunteers?
*ps*: forgive me if this method has been proposed before
yes this has been posted before.
since i'm a new user, i can't post links. please check thread: 490391
i tried increasing the sound in audacity but it gets to a point where it just gets really distorted if you keep increasing it but if you can strike a good balance then it works well!

Yes, this is what I meant. You can emphasize certain frequencies and minimize certain frequencies in Audacity and you can get a pretty fine ringtone.
You specifically play with the equalizer option to get your ringtone to sound according to your preference.
At any rate, it's all about balance like you said.

rudem0e, I am having difficulty finding anyone mentioning in that thread how to increase the ringtone sound without having to modify the phone registry settings or installing any cabs. Can you please tell me what page on thread 490391 you are referring to?
Thanks
hi guys .
i create XAP Ringtone by " ChevronWP7.RingtoneInstaller " . install xap Ringtone But when change the ringtone for NEW SMS by Advanced Config , in the setting for NEW SMS , show the None !!!
help ...
No answer ?!!!
actually same thing happened to me, there isn't anything there, and im also wondering how to make it appear in there. if there is a specific folder we need to add it to or something :/
so in the mean time i just went ahead and did it the other "hard" way went into the windows folder and got my sms ringtone i wanted and renamed it to one of the sms tones i didn't care too much for and replaced it, too bad it basically is the same name and i can't change it to something else.
I think it has something to do with registry values maybe? i don't know but you should try this in the mean time since im not sure of anything else. if anyone else can help it would be apreciated. in the mean time, i hope i helped for now
Recorded file of the ringtone I asked is attached.
It's in Messaging / Gmail / Email -Settings-Notification settings-Select ringtone-scroll up2top
u will probably see a "Default Ringtone". -- which is not listed in system settings-sounds-notifications.
A friend of mine asked me to send this ringtone to him, but rookie like me cannot find where the ringtone file actually is. ..... already tried /system/media/
well it may be stupid but can someone help me find it?
Seems that both froyo & gb roms contain this ringtone. Searched several pages for it but still got no answer.
From your home screen:
Press the Menu Button
Select Settings
Select Sound
Select Notification Ringtone
This is your Default Notification Sound. If you want your messages to make a different sound than the default notification that it uses for everything else (email, updates, etc.) you would change it in the menu you listed. The "Default Ringtone" is simply a pointer.
Thanks for reply but afraid it's not what I need. I know I can change it to everything else .
My point is to get this exact ringtone file --which sounds a little boring . /_\

The default ringtone is not a certain file. It is whatever your ringtone that you set through the menu steps I wrote.

Dude you are completely missing the question.
OP
I just looked in /system/media/sounds/ringtones
And notifications, I didn't find it either, but I don't have a "default ringtone" option at the top either...
But why do you need to extract it? You have the sound right there in your first post? Just convert it to .ogg format and drop it in your friend's phone where it should go...

that's a recorded one not a lossless one as he requests..
sounds silly but I also like to find out.
I tried Serendipity_6.4 & continuum 5.41 they both have this default ringtone (difference is S has it as phone Ringtones, C has it as notification sound.
).
There are some posts here about people had set to another ringtone but sometime still heard this default one ringing , in lately builds of roms.
I notice the /system/build.prop does specify ro.config.ringtone and ro.config.notification_sound. Perhaps this would be the file name you're looking for.

Here is another twist for you. On Cog 4.4.2 my default notification is NOTHING. It doesn't make any sound at all.
All I can say at this point is to play every notification/ringtone file on your phone and see if you can find it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Listening to the sample I believe this is the one you're looking for.
If it's not then let me know and I'll find the right one.

Is there a patch or is there a way to repair it ? Tried with converting mp3 to .ogg ect ect... It just doesn't work. The ROM is awesome but this is annoying as hell.
Tried to use the rings extended and other apps but still nothing.
Please advice and cheers.

Same question yesterday, no answers till now.
I'm using my own ringtone on Tiramislim v2. I could choose it in the ringtone list in the sound settings.
What you can try is copy the file to: [\sdcard\media\audio\ringtones (or Notifications for SMS/Alarm/etc.) and see if it's in the list in the sound settings.
I also set a ringtone from poweramp with no problem.
Hope the above will work for you!
STILL NOTHING this is b*shi*
I managed to get a ringtone for any call, but not for my friends and family :/ I have a custom ringtone for my default call. But still I can't assign a different ringer to a different person... WTF?! On my last ROM - no problem. Different person - different ringer... This is bugging me... It's a small detail but men is it annoying...
As some people noticed with 4.3 update the "click" sound when we touch the screen its less audible then in 4.1 to solve this problem (if its a problem to you) is:
First of all have root
1- Copy Effect_Tick.ogg from System\media\audio\ui to your computer
2- edit sound volume with any program that give you an option to do that (i use sound forge 11)
3- copy it back to your phone with permissions rw-r-r
I have a sound edit with a gain of 20db if any want test i give a link https://mega.co.nz/#!N1llSQpY!8UK5NaiEPy8ukBuEurcGytL7Qwo1Og__8Hzo2cGC6tM
Good luck
I think that will work for every sound that you want improve play with gain and test.....
If you send me the files i can improve the sounds for you but when i can...... dont see this as an obligation to me....
Im trying right now i would love to gain about 20% of improved general volume but all i´ve tried din´t worked for me anyway thanksfor this the 4.3 clic sound is the sexyest sound on the phone

I just love the simplicity of this solution. Too bad I don't have root.
