Compact IV recall ? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi Guys
Been flicking through modaco and a poster over there has been told by t-mob that they are planning on recalling the compact iv due to a software issue and that none are available until the 5th of september
http://www.modaco.com/content/htc-d...9/t-mobile-mda-compact-iv-recall/#entry910647
As I've posted there it all seems a little strange with not one tmob employee telling me it was being recalled.
Anyone here heard anything either from working for tmobile or had communication from tmobile regarding a recall?
Seems very strange to me.

Name P4550 = TyTN II

Is this source right? If so, we have the new name for our beloved Kaiser

MDA Vario III
I spoke to a UK T-Mobile business customer services representative on Saturday morning about getting the Kaiser on my contract renewal - whilst checking a T-mobile system she said that the "MDA Vario III was not yet available" but that T-mobile would text me when it was. No indication of when that would be though
Rumours persist that it'll be the 8th September for T-Mobile UK.
They probably don't want to announce it too early because it might put people off upgrading until it comes out.
It's supposedly coming out as the T-Mobile Vario III, Vodafone v1615 and HTC TyTN II "among other names".
No hint as to when Vodafone will release it, and from their website, you can only get to the pocket PC phones through the business section...
I'm actually thinking I might switch from O2 to T-Mobile when my contract runs out, as T-Mobile have a much better data plan... (that said, having an "unlimited" data usage policy with a 1GB cap seems a bit dishonest to me, but then again, it's still better than anyone else I know of)
Spoke to a customer service rep at T-mob today, to tell them i want to wait a month to upgrade, so i can have the Kaiser.
Was told its being tested right now, and will be a mid September release, at a price of £280 upgrade. Obviously that price is very negotiable depending how much you spend a month. MDA Vario III will be its final name, on T-Mobile UK at least. My names on the list for one the day its released
The wife just had an MDA Touch delivered from T-Mobile UK (and very sleek it is too) but was told on the phone at the weekend that if she waited for a month the Vario III would be available.
That pretty much ties in perfectly with the 8th September. There must be an internal memo whizzing it's way around T-Mobile HQ, 'cause that date keeps cropping up.
She's more about having slim and girly phones than fully featured powerhouses though...

HTC Diamond Delays

Hi,
I placed a pre order for the Diamond about 3 weeks ago from HTC direct. They where supposed to be receiving stock tomorrow (6th June).
Sadly i received this email from them this afternoon. At least they might be more reliable!!
"We have just been informed by the only official distributor of HTC products in the UK that the HTC Touch Diamond is now expected to come in on 17th June. The reason for the delay is a last minute software fix that needed to be applied. We appreciate that you have already been waiting a long time for this device, but it is better that known issues are dealt with at source rather then with a later ROM update or patch.
Please be aware that there are some grey-imports available in the UK. These are sourced from the Asian Market and thus come with warranty issues. HTC will not entertain warranty related repairs in the EU. Also, they only have a one year warranty. Also, they shipped without the software fix.
Be assured that your pre-order will be dealt with on the day the stock arrives."

T-Mobile WM6.1 ROM - will it ever arrive?

Well, it looks like Vodaphone and O2 UK have WM6.1 updates out there, but none as yet from T-Mobile.
Anyone with insider info know if T-Mobile is going to release a WM6.1 ROM update?
About 5 hours after AT&T releases it.
I asked T-Mobile UK, and they said there is no date for this update, and no guarantee that the Vario III will get a w6.1 update.
Great.
Just Great.
Thanks a lot.

Yup, t-mobile support seems to be getting worse via the year
Give them a month or two and they'll announce the Vario IV
way before they announce the 6.1 rom
Why don't you user the original HTC rom? I use it since about 1 month and i have no problems!

[Q] HTC HD7 Not Coming To T-Mobile UK??? Exclusive to O2?

Hi Everyone,
I am confused!
I know that the HD7 has been seen on leaked internal document (http://www.gaj-it.com/24758/htc-hd7-makes-an-appearance-on-t-mobile-document-along-with-dell-streak/) for T-Mobile UK but if you look http://shop.o2.co.uk/mobile_phone/HTC/HD7 it says the phone is Exclusive to O2!
Any suggestions?
You might be able to get it on T-Mobile from a third party site but it is meant to be exclusive to O2.
I spoke to a T-Mobile retentions guy the other day and he said that he had seen the HD7 and that it will be coming to T-Mobile after the O2 exclusive. Further down the conversation he checked something and mentioned the Samsung WP7 phone as one that he had seen, so it made me question whether he was getting confused between Samsung and HD7 for the phone he had seen.
As a T-Mobile customer I have ordered the O2 PAYG version and will unlock it, putting my sim-only contract in it.
A lady from T-Mobile shop has told me it will come to them but doesn't know when. Myself, don't think will wait long and might just get one from O2 and unlock it

[Q] Few questions regarding Tmobile US but in the UK...

Heya folks, sorry if there is a post semi like this one, i honestly did search and didnt see anything remotely the same..
ordered my HD7 and it's arriving monday, but when i was browsing this site i noticed a lot of posts are about tmobile versions of the updates.. i was just wondering,
does the phone not get generic updates due it been on tmobile?
because the phone is unlocked and is stated to be region free.. if i update firmware will it be likely to lock again? (i use o2 UK)
if it will lock, how do i prevent/unlock again/unlock permanently?
Thanks in advance, sorry if these are "nooby" questions, first windows phone and first phone from america..
