Alright, First off I searched using the search here and using google using keywords of '' wake up, tilt, kaiser, text, notification, etc. ''.
But I couldn't find a answer to my question so, here I start a new thread. If anyone has owned a Blackberry, (dont kill me now lol) but when you recieved a text. your device wouldn't wake up from sleep untill you woke it up. is there something similar i could do with the tilt? any thanks would be appreciated. I had already searched google, tried diff. options on the device i couldnt figure it out. So I'm hoping I dont get flamed.

bump 0 ha. hope no one gets mad.
Not sure about making it not wake up, but you can control the notifications to make it less intrusive. There's the built-in WM6 notification options, or if you want more control, the Kaiser Notifications program.
The thing is, I've tried threw the settings, nothing stopped the backlight from turning on when i get a text. I have Kaiser Notification for the LED's at the top, thats how it is on the blackberry. Your phones asleep but will still make a noise/vibrate and then a LED will alert you.
It's just annoying like in a movie where when you put your phone on vibrate and put it in the cupholder, the light still shines... not fun when your backlights all the way on. if you know what i mean
bump, but with a question.
or does anyone know a way so that when you recieve a text the backlight stays off instead of illuminating? any help would be apperciated.

Backlight
I use PhoneAlarm Pro to handle my notifications for SMS and Email and it's setting for no backlight on SMS works fine for me.

I have spent 1 day with the Kaiser, i sell them but never use what i sell, they go to fast. So yeah, 1 day so far. I like the phone, a bit heavy but its expected.
1- I installed the WM6 threaded text (i have to have that) so now sometimes when i get texts, it vibrates and makes the sound i chose. even though vibrate is off in the notifications.
2- The phone vibrates on a soft reset, no that big of deal but i havent seen anyone correct it.
3- The weather doesnt pull up my city, but i did find a fix for that.
4- I cant COPY and PASTE in my emails. I tried copying from one email, creating a new and then pasting, PASTE wasnt even an option.
5- The scrolling (touch flow) is very difficult with a screen protector on, is there any way to increase the sensitivity of it?
6- the home screen. I like their concept with the digital clock. is there any way to make that any smaller, so when in landscape, i still have the full view of everything on my screen.
(they should have made a TODAY quick launch button on there, i know i can set the button to be one, but they just should have.)
can anyone else who installed the threaded text messaging found here
http://discussion.wmexperts.com/showthread.php?t=139379
sorry for the link but its the only way to be sure people know what i am talking about.
Please help. especially for #1 you know how annoying that is?
Oh and it also vibrates on the SILENT setting too.
AHHHH
also, id like to replace the word DELETE with NEW on the email screen.
once in your inbox it has delete on the left and then menu on the right, where you can select NEW.
on all other WM devices, NEW was on the left.
any ideas?
1. Which threaded SMS program did you install? If its the Palm threaded one, then there's a separate notification type for those. So, changing the normal SMS notification type doesn't do anything. You have to change the one that's called "Messaging: New Message: Palm threaded" or something like that...If you installed some other program, it might be similar, but I couldn't say.
2. No fix for that so far. It's such a short vibrate, I guess I don't see the big deal.
3. I guess you must live in a pretty small town. THere's quite a few cities in the list. But even then, it's changeable using a hack.
4. I can't seem to do that either.
5. Don't know if you can change the sensitivity, again, there might be some hack of some sort. But, I am using a screen protector and dont have any issues with it. What kind of screen protector are you using? I didn't use th eone that came with it. It looked cheap. I'm using the PPC Techs one, that are great.
6. No way to change the clock size in the HTC Home plugin. You would need to use some other home plugin/clock program to customize it.

thats where i got it from. but see where it says "once the divice is finished rebooting open resco agian and navigate to program files / palm messaging. You should see this"
i didnt see that and didnt do those steps. it was already in the correct folder.
I don't know about that. I just go to Settings, Sounds & Notifications, Notifications Tab, Event : Messaging: New Message (Palm), then set the type of notification you want for that event.

I can copy - but it seem it is the paste into an email that is broken.
I was able to paste into a note, but something I had copied from the note would not paste into an email. This seems to be a bug - Anyone knows if other WM6 devices can paste ok?
You can copy and paste into emails - it's a weird bug, but the paste option becomes available only after you've typed at least one character into the body of the new email.

From all the searching i have done on various boards with this threaded SMS app it appears this is a well known bug. If you reset the audio profile it does not buzz until you slide the keyboard out at least once during a session, then it vibrates from then on. If anyone comes across a bug fix or a "most recent" version that does not suffer this for Kaiser TYTN II than I would be pleased to know.

does not works for me
I have the same issue when writing SMS as well
I'm using FlexMail as a replacement of Pocket Outlook however.
I did a search but couldn't find any topics, hope this hasn't been covered before.
Recently I've lost two girlfriends (one after the other) because of texts that should not be on my phone. I'm starting to get slightly annoyed with the repetition. I probably don't deserve help on this...
Obviously I could lock my phone with a code, but this raises suspicion. So what would be great is if I could edit the reg to disable any SMS notification at all (and perhaps rely on the HTC Home to show when I have new SMSs). Is there a reg edit for this?
Alternatively, is there a reg edit to stop the notification from showing who it's from and the first few lines?
Failing both of those are there any other suggestions, other than flight mode, that I could stop untimely texts from being seen by prying eyes?
Karma, my friend, karma....

You need a Bat phone aka 2nd SIM and only give out the number on that one.
Delete all incriminating txts from inbox as well as sent items, my mate got found out from his sent items. He has the bruises to prove it.

Instead of trying to make seem like you aren't unfaithful/don't care about the girls/flirt etc... Have you considered just stop sending the txts?
If you're getting messages that aren't supposed to be on your phone, call your provider. If you are trying to weasel out of the consequences of something you did ... suck it up.
I wouldn't date you either.

WOW! I didn't realize that your request for a registry edit would turn into a morality session.
Thanks all, really appreciate the replies, i love this place. GSLEON3 thanks for the app, it seems perfect, and am testing now.

It's not the sending that's the problem, it's the replies! I'm not trying to excuse my behaviour, but it's not always that simple. That is to say that jealousy can blind the reader sometimes.
i guess your having problems with the girl actually going through your phone and seeing who sends the txts? if its just the pop up box you get when u get a new msg you can go into sounds and notifications and turn it off. i have been using palm threaded app for a while now and it has a privacy mode, it will give you the pop up box, but wont say what it says or who from. best thing i can advise to you is to just delete your txt msgs, its the easiest and only fail safe way. oh and make sure you delete them out of the deleted folder, hehe.
Thanks Cashin. I know deleting is the easiest and cheapest way, but doing that is actually quite laborious, as you have to remember Inbox, Sent Items & Deteted Items. Also, I don't like to guard my phone 24/7, I like it to sit on the bed side table sometimes without being paranoid about the bright screen powering up with an sms.
I've trialled SecretSMS for an afternoon and it's perfect, so I purchased it. For predefined contacts, the light still powers up when you recieve a text, but no other notification, and a password protected inbox/sent items. Great stuff.
Hi All,
I have a question. Every time I open a SMS/Mail the keyboard pops up automaticly while most of the times I only want to read the message.
It is making the screen smaller and it takes time.
Is there a way to solve it?
Further I did not find a way to have an audio/acoustical alarm when the battery is finished so in a call the phone will switch of at once and immediately without warning.
Do I miss some settings or .......
Thanks in advance for help, Remco
When you get the message...instead of opening it there...click on the inbox in the lower left area of screen and that will open it up without the keyboard...when you click on it in the envelope or sms screen...it opens it because it thinks you want to reply straight away.
Battery alarm??...dont think there is one to be honest. I havent seen anything in the notifications or alarm section of the phone...Shame really as it would have been useful to have some sort of alarm going off when the battery gets low or is about to die.

same thing here the keyboard pops up automaticly when opening message ?!
click on the inbox in the lower left area
cant find it ?
do you mean the notifications when new message comeup
yeah i also find it really annoying that the keyboard pops up automatically everywhere.
it was not like this on my old Wizard with WM5.
i looked around in the options but cant find anyway to not make the keyboard pop up automatically yet.
It's because you have no Hardware Keyboard, and as the OS assumes you want to reply, it's helping you out. You'd probaly find theres a bunch of people who love this feature as much as you hate it
Rory
lol
Why dont you just read it in TF3D? bt yeah as for the the battery sound you can go into sound & notifications and select to enable sound for 'Events' thats the best i can think of atm.
I also find it frustrating with the keyboard.
Can this be set with a registry key to not have it pop up.
If i need the keyboard I can klick down in the middle of the screen to bring it up.

Nope there is no solution to this problem. There will never be a solution to this problem.
DONT try and search this forum for a solution to this problem because searching for a solution to this problem will not find a single solution to this problem.
There IS NOT a cab installer available to fix this, just as there is NO registry entries available in this forum to solve this problem
There has in fact NOT been 3 Topics in the last week that have solved this same problem.
I suggest starting a few more new topics in the forum asking for solutions to this problem.
Sorry for the sarcasm but jeez how many times must the same question be asked in the same forum in the same week!!!!

Possible with (albeit commercial) pocketMax phoneAlarm.
Greetings Josh
Ok, im really frustrated by certain things on the diamond, so much so im thinking of selling the diamond....
I love most of the features but a few things really annoy me...such as:
Why when a call connects, does the screen switch off?? This is really annoying when your listening to voicemail, for obvious reasons...
Secondly, i CANNOT switch my input type from FULL QWERTY, i change it, and then when i go back into INPUT, its FULL QWERTY again...why?
Thirdly, when entering a text, i dont want to view a full convo, and the last word of the text remains in the predict part, meaning when you click close, it asks if you want to save to drafts?
If im being stupid, then someone please explain....if not, can anyone assist? Please?
all of your problems have simple quick fixes and have been asked a million times by other people! i dont mean to be rude but please search the forum!
most of you problems can be solved with this one page thats always at the top of the diamond page!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265&highlight=diamond+screen+turning
and look here for your input problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412757
took me 2 seconds to find the thread
SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and to asnwer your question, the light sensor turns the display off when you put the phone to your head, its a kind of safty feature so that you dont press any on screen buttons with your face.
i like the feature, but like many others like you dont, its on the first forum link ive just given you as is the fix to disable the sms chat interface
I did try search but came up blank....The above isnt really a solution, more of a workaround, i want the phone to function as it should, i.e be able to change the input type via settings....
Thanks a lot for your other assistance though Keyz...
you change your input option from the touch flo 3d interface, NOT the settings page on WM.
go into a new text message, and press the little keyboard icon on the bottom of the screen
im not using the TF3D interface though....using WM.....
you have TF3D turnd off?
Yes, but i have switched it back on to see if i change my mind about it...
I still cant get the screen light sensor thing to work....weird...
BTW the title of the thread is supposed to start *Change*...!
basically, i find the constant vibration really annoying when receiving a text or call... especially a call! i no the butler app changes the call vibration to every 300 ms or something along those lines, but i could never get the program to work properly on my TP. i was wondering if anybody knew the registry tweak (if there is one) to edit vibration length.

Is butler really the only way of changing the vibration?
I'm with you Manoli, Butler locked up my ROM also. Anyone have any other options.
