Is there any way i can get a lock on my phone so people have to enter a password to look at my pictures or videos??
That is one of the features built into Resco Explorer but it is not free. Take a look and see what you think.
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/default.asp
Here is the documentation:
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/downloads.asp
I have been using Resco Explorer for quite a while now and do make use of the build in encryption. Besides this it is a great tool with many other built in functions. I purchased the Resco package which included:
Resco Explorer
Resco Keyboard
Resco Photo Viewer (best photo viewer I have seen)
I suggest you download a trial version and see for yourself. I did and ended up purchasing this software.

I have the same problem which is why I purchased ESS (secret sms) from Handago.com. This is a separate sms program so you add contacts to this and it hides the sms (password protected). Even when you receive a sms from this person the normal "notification" does not reflect. You can assign these sort of messages a special vibrate tone or ring tone so you know there is a new message. There is a 7-day trial version. Try it

As most of you are aware i am assembling a rom with a help of few others that will include some of the most frequently used FREEWARE apps that will allow people to choose what they want to be installed, this way they are readily available...
Now i know what i like and what some others like.. but dont know what everyone likes... So here is your chance to list what FREEWARE apps you cant live without and when i feel this thread has generated enough ideas i will take them and post a poll to have people vote on them, then take the most popular ones and incorporate them into the extended rom.. in the end my final version will be for most providers, not just one!!
GSfinder
pocket rar
tcpmp
Minimo
Shortcuts for sms, speed dial, .....
flash 7
a reliable alarm clock.............
No one else has any input on this?
how about mine..
WifiFoFum
Hitchhicker
Vxutil
registry wizard
pocket rar
1800message vault
how about
smartkey
batterystatus-plugin
ms voice command

Well then. . . how about sneaking in pocket mech. lol Just kiddin'. Although, I would like to see a rom with all my paid for progs incorporated into it. I just can't figure the stupid thing out. What we need is a rom with loading screen on windows that lets us check and uncheck which software we want installed or not. But everything actually built into the rom. Now that'd be awesome.
I can't live with out Egress.

well thats what i am doing, except the programs are built into the ext rom so they dont sit and eat up valuable useable space and you can install what you want from there, that is why i am making this list...

I had trouble findin' TCPMP, as it seems like the main site's down. Luckily, I had it on disk. ;-) Enjoy.
My favorites freely available are
TodayAgenda
BatteryStatus
WM5NewMenu (this displaced PHM_Traylaunch for me)
Total Commander
Smartskey
Omapclock
QMail
Most of these are under development and change frequently, which makes placing them on the ROM problematic.
I now its a payable product but I find Phonealarm very usefull.
I am using TCPMP 0.81 beta, posting folder from my sd, just make a shortcut
to startmenu, all plugins included.
Gs finder and alarmclock from here http://page.freett.com/todamitsu/index_english.htm
Omap overclock Plus continuous overclocking. I use it and it rocks!!
Utilities from pdamobiz rom
i have ripped a few utilities from pda mobiz rom
1) sms sender
2) speed dial
3) recent dial
4) pocket screen shot
5) stop watch
6) backup contacts from buzzdev.net
7) smartskeys edited for clock 240
8)call history
9) flight mode, notepad from phm power toys
10) task manager
all these will take less than 500 kb
How about the photo contacts today plug-in from the treo w700
XnView pocket
Mortplayer
Soft key
Does anyone have the Soft key program that lets you remap the calendar and contact keys. Summiters previous ROM had that built in and it was kinda nice. Tried searching for it with no sucess. Not sure exactly what it's called.

Sorta, this changes the keys however I can't find the interface to assign what keys I want. The other version showed up in Settings and allowed me to pick any application that was installed.
Hi,
This Software will let you show the Contact's like an iPhone, works great even for foreign languages.
it looks like this:

I've Created a CAB file for quick installation.
This CAB file copies the File to iContact to \Program Files\iContact.
And creates a Registry that will launch the iContact from
1. The Left SoftKey on the Today Screen.
2. instead of the Contacts @ the dialer.
Get it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/75931794/iContact.cab
Enjoy.

I have question...I really like the icontact feature...but seems like when I try to call out from it it doesn't do anything. It always takes me to the call history screen. Also I can't see the emails that are associated with some of my contacts nor their pictures. I'm very new to this and would like a little direction. Thanks in advance.
Does anybody know of a program in which when you receive a call it gives you the option of ignoring them and sending a SMS instead?
I think Dutty had this option in one of his ROMs.
Also, there is an app that is called "Ignore with SMS" - but every download location I've found for it doesn't work.
Any help will be appreciated.

You can try photo contacts pro too. Although it's kinda heavy. It's got lots of features & large full screen caller id photos as well as sms tones & ringtone for groupd or individuals.

Do you know that they are the same? The browser opens most files too. I only have the browser and have viewed word docs, pdfs, and countless pictures with it. Hope that helps.
i'm just looking for a decent picture viewer/editor that has decent zooming.HTC Album,S2V,Default Pic Viewer doesn't seem to cut it. I also tried finding a cab for Pocket Quickview but only has an installer for activesync which I don't have access to at work

There is no "piscel viewer" I think
search for "piscel browser" . This contain : internet browser, file browsers , pdf and picture views ....
Beside that this app isnt made not for WM6 , they ( the dev ) customized it and its not very legal. The best way to get it is contact someone who get a hold on it .
Pretty fluidy but I still like the HTC Album better, havent try S2V yet.

iContact -> iphone interface for your contacts
s2u2-> slide to unlock
s2uv->view pictures with iphone interface
s2up->audio player with iphone interface

i think it would be best if you could post the files here so as to help others immediately and give them instructions on how to go about making their XDA pretend to be iphone, or have iphone-like interface.
by the way, iphone like keyboard = PocketCM keyboard, use Iphone layout and skin.

I do understand, it really took me some time to collect this apps so it would be my pleasure to get you off that hunting process.
as I've said:
s2u2 -> slide to open interface of iphone
s2v-> slide to view picture viewer
gslide-> sliding file explorer (not that good though)
s2p-> audio player iphone interface
icontact-> sliding contacts
iFonz-> iphone icon interface fully customizable
ipodclassic-> iphone interface for phone (instead of the default phone skin when you call -> i dont know if this was the one
there are few more files i was supposed to upload but it seems uploads are limited.
I used to have the wm6.1 black edition but if found out that these apps work better on wm6 toflock
try it and please give me feed backs or if you have a latest version of these apps, would you mind, sharing it?
thanks
ENjoy!

here are the additional files
pcmkeyboard-> iphone keyboard
custome iphone icons-> additional iphone icons. i can't uploaded when it was in .rar so I just added .zip, i just renamed instead of re-compressing it. so just rename and remove .zip before you extract. for additional icons, you can just google it or create your own. I have another file which iphone_en, i think this file was for the phone interface but it's 2mb so i can't uploaded.
The first file i uploaded which was last fiel in the first post, the iphone classic is supposed to be iphone_en, anyway just check it out.

Can somebody please tell me where to put the files for

- S2p
I extracted them but im not sure what to do with them, i have used a readme for other files and they explained where to put them, but these dont say where to place/paste to.
Help would be appreciated
Where to put
Actually you can just put them anywhere but I suggest you extract them to your memory card. after that, just click on the executable file. Probably you were expecting that a link will be created on you group of programs but it But I guess it does not so you just have to create a link for that and place it in wherever you want to access it.
