Do you know that they are the same? The browser opens most files too. I only have the browser and have viewed word docs, pdfs, and countless pictures with it. Hope that helps.

i'm just looking for a decent picture viewer/editor that has decent zooming.HTC Album,S2V,Default Pic Viewer doesn't seem to cut it. I also tried finding a cab for Pocket Quickview but only has an installer for activesync which I don't have access to at work

There is no "piscel viewer" I think
search for "piscel browser" . This contain : internet browser, file browsers , pdf and picture views ....
Beside that this app isnt made not for WM6 , they ( the dev ) customized it and its not very legal. The best way to get it is contact someone who get a hold on it .
Pretty fluidy but I still like the HTC Album better, havent try S2V yet.

Opera "Black-Hole" problem?

Am I the only one with this? I tried searching for a solution but no luck so far...
When I am browsing websites with the Opera browser (_every_ version I tested so far) after some time the page doesn't get displayed entirely anymore and the missing parts simply remain black. This ends up in the entire website view becoming black.
To me this looks a lot like a memory issue. Anyone else having this kind of problem?
Cheers,
Alex
You're not alone. I have the same Issue but I mentioned it at only one site. Maybe Opera has some problems with some plugins on that sites.
Having the same problem here, but so far it happened only on the accuweather site... not that i'm browsing very often but that site is the only one that caused the same problem... no idea why though

Yes, I have the same problem with the Accuweather site. I haven't seen it on any other sites, yet.
i had the same problem today on the bbc website.
I think it might be an issue with frames. There are scrollbars on the bottom of the visible part of the website but only for a second or so while the site renders. They disappear after opera is finished rendering the site. A site that does this is www.studivz.de (very popular social networking site in germany) but only when logged in. Another problem I have is that some sites (php) I can only scroll the site halfway after I zoomed in. After zooming out, the problem is still there however.
I second that with StudiVZ...
As for PHP I don't believe that's the relevant factor - since that only determines the HTML generation - not the resulting HTML code sent to the browser afterwards. So what I am saying is that you most likely could reproduce the same problem with _any_ language by simply sending the same HTML...

Good news everyone...
I just tried out Build 1938 of Opera 9.5 and did not encounter the "black holes" anymore.
I used the "upgrade" version from the thread below. Rename the files in /windows/ otherwise they can't be overwritten. Then copy the files from the downloaded .zip file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2321466&postcount=1
Only tried studivz.net hope this fixes other sites, too.
Unfortunately this build doesn`t change any think in black hole ... if you want to see just go to www.onet.pl
Unfortunately it doesn`t change anything in "Black Hole" :/ Try www.onet.pl still a lot of black holes on my device :/

I hate to disappoint you but I tried the website, zoomed, panned etc. around a couple of times and encountered no black holes. I am using dutty's 1.6 ROM. Are you sure, you installed the upgrade correctly? In Opera look under help->about opera->(scroll up) if it displays Build 1938. Also remember to soft reset the phone after the upgrade.
regards.
I can confirm that build 1938 solved all my black hole problems, too.
i`m using oryginal 1.93 ROM not cooked maybe this is problem ? Did you upgraded or instal again ?
Updated: Hmmm strange now it works ;D But i have a question to U ... Do you know how to delete these old files ? that i`ve changed the name ... because windows says you cannot delete these files but one of them is 6 Mb so you know that is a lot of free space

Hi. I deleted the files using file explorer running on the diamond itself, not with pc through usb. If this does not work, try using a different file explorer like total commander (free) or resco explorer (trial and buy but much better).

Opera dying
Hi guys,
I flashed my Diamond with Swiftblade's latest which had the new version of Opera on it. But whenever I visit any site such as ebay, natwest or paypal and click on a button, opera dies. It worked fine on IE before I upgraded.
Just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem or knows a fix?!
Can't use the browser at all for now and I don't want to go back to the original ugly T-mobile ROM
Cheers guys!

Lock For Pictures??

Is there any way i can get a lock on my phone so people have to enter a password to look at my pictures or videos??
That is one of the features built into Resco Explorer but it is not free. Take a look and see what you think.
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/default.asp
Here is the documentation:
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/downloads.asp
I have been using Resco Explorer for quite a while now and do make use of the build in encryption. Besides this it is a great tool with many other built in functions. I purchased the Resco package which included:
Resco Explorer
Resco Keyboard
Resco Photo Viewer (best photo viewer I have seen)
I suggest you download a trial version and see for yourself. I did and ended up purchasing this software.

I have the same problem which is why I purchased ESS (secret sms) from Handago.com. This is a separate sms program so you add contacts to this and it hides the sms (password protected). Even when you receive a sms from this person the normal "notification" does not reflect. You can assign these sort of messages a special vibrate tone or ring tone so you know there is a new message. There is a 7-day trial version. Try it

Hi guys, I was just wondering if its possible to use the you tube app from hyperdragon 3 (YouTube 1_5_1819_1531). Or is it inbuilt into the rom?. Just put it in the software section because i i would like the app in my rom im using now. Thanks guys
Yeah, I'm looking for the same thing. Really like the Youtube version 1_5xxxx on HyperDragon. Anywhere I can get the cab file for this?
I have it in cab form but cannot get it to work once installed. it pulls up the site but when I try to play a video it gives an error
I seem to remenber there was a fix for this called ravest youtube fix.cab, this fix worked for me after instaling the youtube 1_5_181931. You might want to seach on google or xda-dev for the file.

pdf viewer that fits text to screen

I have a book on my phone and its really hard to read because in all the pdf viewers ive tried i have to constantly scroll left and right for each sentence.
Is there a pdf viewer that arranges the text to fit to screen when zoomed in? like in opera how u zoom in and the text rearanges to fit to screen. I havent had any luck with any of the ones ive tried.
Ummmmm how about the adobe reader?
There is an option for "reflow" which is a word wrap.
Im using version LE 2.5
wow, i'm a little embarrassed! I thought that reflow was like a continuous page. Thanks for pointing this out.

Verry Welcome Glad to help
Another possibility would be the Foxit Reader for Pocket PC. It also includes a reflow mode. Haven’t tried it yet myself. The PC version is really good though.

[Q] Reader problems

Hi, I'm trying to read a PDF downloaded from Google books.
I can open it with the nook reader but it doesn't open in full screen so there's a grey background and the text is too small to comfortably read, changing the text size doesn't seem to make any difference.
I downloaded Google Books app and it looks exactly the same, and it doesn't give me access to the settings to try and zoom in or increase text size.
I've also tried Aldiko, the settings are accessible (hurray!) but don't display properly, so I can only see 'Brightness' and 'Orientation'.
Is there any hope, is there a way to read the book!
Many thanks,
Mat.
there are various pdf readers that work on the nook, my favorite is ebookdroid which have auto crop to remove margins, and auto levels correction which makes the text sharper
That book is probably a PDF made of jpegs. It is the worst kind to read on an eink device. You can use something like pdfscissors to crop the margins of the file before loading it to the ereader or use an application that can do it on the go, on the device - like Orion Viewer or Perfect Viewer. Or you can try to use OCR software on that file to convert it do a text format.
Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately when I tried to open the book I got an 'unexpected error: cannot load document'.

Sorry, didn't realize you were looking for a new and better reader! I'd highly recommend @Renate NST's Temblast Reader for excellent PDF and EPUB reading. Check it out.

I had a look for Renate's reader before but couldn't see it when I clicked the signature; there are nook apps including a library app but no reader.
Am I missing something obvious and/or just being stupid????

I actually linked it in the first post I made in this thread (click on "Temblast Reader", but thanks to @kazikas for making the link a little more noticeable.
Thank you so much Kazikas , ИΘΘK¡€ and of course Renate!
It's the only reader that lets me magnify the page (overscan), the text isn't great but it's starting to look like that's the original PDF's problem.
