Yes, it restart itself every few minutes.
I got this problem since the day I bought it about 2 weeks ago. I sent it back to the seller and they did something to make it work fine till now.
The same problem comes back.
I observed the problem and here are the facts.
1. It restart a few seconds after it turn off the screen. That's the power settings.
On batter power: Turn off device if not used for = 40 sec
So about 5 sec after the screen is off, it restart.
If I plug it to USB charging mode or sync mode, it get extremely hot but never restart, because it never turn off (not on battery power).
If I untick "Turn off device if not used for"... it also get extremely hot but never restart. It does drain too much battery, of course.
2. It's abnormally slower than other devices. My father bought 3 HT Diamonds at once. 2 works fine so I can compare them. They have the same firmware, same model, everything is the same, but this one got this problem.
3. It happened like this for both Chinese firmware and English firmware. But when the seller fixed it, they did installed Chinese firmware.

Still Restarting
Does anyone have answer to my previous question? So sad that the phone keep restarting itself like this. Is there a new ROM that fix the problem?
Thousands of thanks to person who shred some light. Thanks.

Yes, kinda tried that many times.
Did reflashed the ROM 2 times too.
Did tried 2 different language ROM too, 1 English and 1 Chinese.
It looks like you have a defective unit then
I had same problem with O2 Neo then I sold it ASAP
I have also got the same problem, I have tried many ways, Installed dutty's roms also, but the thig is, its not rom fault. its internal storage problem. You have to hard reset all, clear all data in internal storage too.
go to setting > sytem > clear storage

that didn't work for me.
This fixed my problem after much troubleshooting. I though it wouldn't work, assumed it was hardware problem.
flashed to newest stock rom twice.
flashed to custom rom (mighty) twice.
Don't forget to unlock where need be.

Hi binh,
My Touch Diamond does the same. It has the same Radio and Protocol version, but the ROM is 1.93.00.0.
My Problem occurs after the instalation of the IGO navigation software. Untill that it was o.k. After a hard reset is everything o.k. untill the instalation of the IGO. Just tell us if You are using any navigation software?
Thank You in advance.
This should work
Have a touch pro and faced a similar issue . Did a lot of googling and finally found a solution that works . Apparently this happens if the batttery contacts (the small golden colour pins which come in contact with the phone battery ) at the backside are either bent or crimped . Straighten them and it should work like a charm . This is because of faulty battery contacts the phone goes into a restarting loop.
Hope this helps
Well... try this and let me know:
Replace your phone's battery with a genuine new htc battery..
This restarting issue had occurred with my Sony Ericsson w800
The thing is that every li-ion battery has a safety cut out circuit embedded in it. It is there to protect the battery from heating up in case of short circuit. It breaks the power for a few micro seconds and turns it back on. That circuit gets weak with time and eventually it assumes even a little load as a short circuit. So when you use your cellular radio [phone's communication system], it puts an immense load over the battery and the cut out circuit assumes as if the battery is being short circuited. So it cuts out the power for a few micro seconds and turns it back on. The phone, on the other hand, assumes of it as a short power failure so it reboots.
:::::::::::::::::::
I am very eager to know if thats the problem with your device.
Also if you have a non genuine battery, then it would be having a weak cut-out circuit.

I have a problem. After turning on the phone it works normal when use it, but when not using phone and screensavers goes on then after 20-25min. not works none of the buttons. Helps only removing battery. And after doing this 15-25 times it´s now wont booting up at all. Did´nt help anymore removing battery. It boots to WM bootscreen and then stops.
Is this tecnical or WM problem?
Sorry, my english is not so good.
And OS is WM5 and in the MTeoR startscreen is also is written:IU TEST ONLY. If I remember right, then it was started after installing the Kaspersky Mobile, but in the Qtek 8310 it works with no problems and allready 6 or more month.
Thanks for help.

This is a FLASH-able ROM sample. My question is : Is there any way to edit this and add more programs to it ? (the flash is for some of the MyGuide 3100 devices on the market. another question : is it the same for my device ?)
I tried to flash my device with this... it worked but it still does'n boot. only the boot image has changed. it's still frozent at about 8-10%.
Here is the sample :
http://rapidshare.com/files/140578865/MYGUIDE_3100_DACH_Inand_Update.rar
Guess no one is able to give a hand with this ?
the persisent registry do not want to go away even after flashinf it. i guess it just replaces the os and bootloader anl does not touch the partition that holdes the registry. any ideea how can i make it delete/replace the registry too ?
the device has 3 partitions (it copies the windows folder on RAM) :
1. The bootloader
2. the registry
3. the OS ( called BINFS - i can see but not edit or copy)
hello,
once i received my myguide 3100, it did NOT start.
it rested on a bootscreen showing some kind of "progress bar".
i managed to fix this by installing the firmware again, downloaded at the manufacturers website http://www.myguidegps.com/
it worked for a few months properly. since last week, i've got the same problem again....
but unfortunateley, the manufactuerer does NOT provide any more support...
seems they are insolvent or some...
could one of you guys gife me the original firmware for this device to get it working?? the one in this thread does not.... dont know why
would be SOOO nice
myguide3100 - arival naca400
Hello!
I have a similar problem with a A_rival naca400 which is said to be a clone of myguyde3100. Can you help me with a rom and drivers for myguide3100 try to write in arival?
Bricked my device using the downloaded firmware
Hello. I also have a big problem with My 3100: I downloaded the firmware attached to the first post and fleshed it to my device. Unfortunatelly, something really is wrong , because the update never reached 100%, it allways stops at 98%. Since then (about 2 weeks) i searched all around the web but couldn't find anywhere another firmware (a good one this time). forumleecher, you mentioned you have a valid firmware. Could you be so kind to upload it somewhere for me and others who need it? The original source, www.myguide.com is no longer available, since the company bancrupted and all it's sites are gone. Would be a great help.
Please help us with some good rom for myguide3100.
Looking for a few weeks and yet I found something that works.
You should be very careful by downloading and flashing devices by accident.
There are different hardware platforms of MyGuide 3100 on the market and flashing the wrong ROM will cause boot failures.
Afaik there are no ROMs available in the net (haven't discovered yet) and MyGuide is insolvent.
Cheers
sdr you solve this problem??? and how

OK guys. I know how to do total hard reset registry and rest MyGuide 3100(i had the same problem with registry boot keys)
Download this first

1. First You have to open PNA, disconnect power supply, SD-card etc.
2. After that You have to desolder this big metal cover.
3. Under this cover You will find k9f2g08 Chip.
4. Now you have to connect pin 9 to GDN and connect the battery.
5. Now wait until progress bar start moving, after he start, disconnect Pin 9 from GND.
6. The progress bar should load normal to the end and on the screen should be picture with SD-card.
7. Disconnect battery, assemble PNA and have fun

Hello
My daughter had a problem with her MYGuide 3100, it simply would not switch on any more.
I stripped the unit down and removed the big metal cover (not very well but it worked anyway) and then found this...
You can see a different chip to the Samsung one noted but I have guessed that it is just a matter of where they sourced the chips from.
Chip used to ground pin 9...
So I ground pin 9 and followed the instructions to now find that I get this...
The unit now boots but the progress bar will no longer progress beyond the amount shown in the above photo.
THe unit can no longer be switched off, but just reset. It also is not recognised by Windows and thus is not accessible.
It gives me the impression that sadly the unit is dead
In this type of nand FLASH memory, You have to connect pin nr 30 to GND and fallow with step's .
Pin 9 is NC(non connected) so that's reaction for GND connection is totally normal.
PS. I don't have email notification about post's here so if You can give me a shot about progress on my mail too ([email protected])
Thanks for what you have posted but alas it simply does not work. I found details of the chip too and realised that I needed to short a different pi, the one that you have so kindly noted, but it still does not allow the unit to boot.
This has also been noted here...
http://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread.php?t=11402&page=66
I am guessing that the ROM image is somehow corrupt and even though there is RomUpdate_RD_R01.exe available without a working USB connection, or an image to upload, then it is just a dead GPS.
Ok. So You have broken rom......Last chance to wake him up is desoldering the chip and write rom file on it in external programmer (Willem, cheapest one).
My solution is working for wrong writed registers(but rom must be ok).
Write , if You need deeper details
I appreciate your help. However the sourcing of a programmer and then the likelihood of me being able to desolder that chip has made in beyond my levels of skill to repair.
Thank you again for your help
write with what?

Hi!
i am new here, and i do have a problem.
I have my HTC Diamond since 2 weeks, and it is blocking (freezing) once per day: the device is on standby, i try to turn it on, but nothing happens, always a black screen, not even the restart button works; the only solution is to remove and put back the battery.
the issue is that if someone calls me during this "freeze", he gets that my phone is ringing; but i get nothing; and not even a missed call after i succeed to turn it on.
- ROM version: 1.93.479.3 WWE
i highly appreciate if somone can help me with this problem.

Tony
htc diamond freezing with white screen
Hi,
i have a similar problem - but not so often (approx. 2 times per week). The difference to yours is, that my screen is white (or gray/dither). My firmware Version: 1.93.407.1 GER (there is no newer)
Have you found any solution?
Guys....have a troll thru the Diamond section......you should find the soln there.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=428
Moved to Diamond/Diamond..
Me too.
Panosha: 1.93.405.1 WWE Shine On 2.4 Full
Radio: 1.03.25.18
After calls... Freezes 80% or more. I don't know if maybe it is 100% of the time when the other end hangs up first. (I don't get it with Voicemail!)
I also get freezes some other times. I don't think it is memory related, (before someone suggests it.) Also Please don't tell me to Hard Reset. I have Hard resetted to my heart's content, also directly after every Rom Update (to get GPS working)

I had the Standby of Death SOD this is when the phone fails to come out of standby with a power button press. This issue only affects some people on some networks. I'm not sure if its a network problem or a software problem but as only a minority of people have it, I suspect its mainly a network problem there is a software solution.
The solution is to change the phone settings band option from auto 3G/2G to either 3G Only (WCDMA + UTMS 2100 in Europe) or 2G Only (GSM + AUTO) depending on your requirements.
Also read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540943&highlight=standby&page=2 where the resolution was to get a new SIM.
Obviously this only solves the problem when the crash is because of the sim and/or settings which impact the sim. To rule out a software cause its best to start with a hard reset.
i started having this problem a month ago. after boot the PPC writes something in red and after a few seconds gets black
i recorded it so it would be clearer

Hey! My trinity have the same problem!!!
I habe all test: Without sim, without SD, with SD, with SIM (with SIM screen is grey)
What have you done?
Original ROM - same problem
Mine was doing this earlier
seemed that their was dirt stuck in the reset button hole causing it to stick in slightly
I got this problem too. My trinity would turn on and start to fade away. But mine was a liltle more artistic. Many times i saw a kinda round spot in the middle of the screen that become black, then half of the screen would black out and then the rest of the screen. Sometimes i even got colors.
I noticed if a had a fully charged battery the phone would work perfectly.
But most of the time it turn on, but the screen stayed black with the retro light on.
I was told to try the unbrick exploit.
me too !!! i have the same problem with my htc 3600 ? can someone help us to fix our htc's 3600 ?thanks in advance....
have you fix it ?
hi all
I have a small problem with my htc p3600. It's not starting. It's loading only the bios but it's freezing with the screen picture and is not loading the WM 5.0 I try to change the WM5.0 with a new one but I don't have a active sync. connection. Please help
has anyone found a solution to this problem ?
anyone have a solution?
Finally, what you should do?
Since the Trinity / P3600 is getting old now, I believe more and more people are going to face this strange problem sooner or later.
So I thought I should save your time and tell you what you should do when your trinity starts behaving like what was described at the beginning of this thread.
YOU SHOULD DO NOTHING !!
THERE IS NO QUICK FIX
THERE IS NO WORKAROUND
THERE IS NO CHEAP SOLUTION
I have searched and tried everything mentioned in this forum that might slightly be related to the problem and all solutions failed.
So after days and days of experimenting, I gave up and sent my device to HTC dealer who called me few days later to tell me that the mother board needs to be replaced.
The dealer told me the cost will be around $213, but they said they are going to sent it back as it is, because they don't have that board model anymore!!.
Even if they had, for an old device like this , I don't think it worth that mush money to fix.

Hello,
I resolve the problem with this : Simultnous press Power and Camera buttons and softreset, you'll got bootloader, three colors mode. Perhaps a little error message like this WLAN error but if you plug usb, it's ok.
Hope this good for you (excuse my poor english)
I've had this same problem for about a year now and keep coming back to it.
Any forward momentum on solving the problem would be appreciated as I quite like this phone.
1. The phone will boot FINE without a SIM
2. It hangs like in the video (or other strange screens) as soon as I insert a SIM card (partially or fully)
3. I've tried 3 different SIM cards
4. I have no SD cards
5. I have installed 3.20.Olipro
6. An official ROM is re-installed
I must admit the phone has had a hard life (or is it just the cheap plastic coatings HTC use)
No sooner did I post this did I find a solution.
For anyone that is interested...I have managed to re-install the original HTC ROM but HAVE NOT managed to install a workable 6.5 ROM yet.
So, the answer I found was:
1. Put P3600i into bootloader mode (push camera+power+reset buttons for 2 secs and get triple colour screen)
2. Re-flash HardSPL 1.1 from my PC
3. Re-flash original HTC ROM (WWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30.11_108) by agian putting P3600i into bootloader mode first
I since tried several different radio stacks but haven't noticed any difference in reception so have left the original stack on (1.46.30.11) as it gives the best phone call quality
I love the UI of the latest WM6.5 but if the P3600i doesn't run them properly I'll just have to do without.
Good luck with your own unbricking.
it was working fine for me when i put a little piece of rubber between the processor and the metallic cover of it but after 3 months i have the same problem and the paper dont work anymore.... now when i press the power button the screen is black, only the backlight is working anyone have any ideas what to do?
OMG WTF, as soon as I saw this thread I switched my HTC P3600 on and it started doing it I reckon this is cursed, I will upload a video onto Youtube later and show you that is what happened.
I had this problem myself, didnt know what i was doing wrong, altho my tri color screen did this, not the boot one.
I removed memorycard and voila, everything went smoothly.

sorry 4 my mistake
Hi All,
I have a HTC HD7 Phone, the problem I am finding is that, if my phone is Idle for some time (say 1 hr or more), it goes to sleep (or switches off). Later, if I press the power button, then it doesn't wake up even after holding the power button for long. If I connect the USB cable (either connected to charger or to computer), then it boots (not wake up) without any problem. It is not due to battery drain as when it boots up back, battery shows good enough charged.
Can anyone please help resolve the problem.
Phone Details:
Model : HTC Schubert
Carrier : HD7 T92925
OS version : 7.10.7720.68
FW rev No. : 2250.21.510V2_S.DFT
HW rev No. : 0002
Radio SW ver : 5.65.09.25a_22.45.50.21U
Radio HW ver : A.12.0.D4
Bootloader ver : 3.1.2250.0(119314)
Chip SoC ver : 2.2.5.0
Thanks in advance.
it sounds like your power button is dead.
Power button is working fine. It happens only sometimes when phone is kept on idle for long time. Generally when I press power button, phone wakes up quickly without any issue.
despite what you said , i think it's about your battery. have you tried another battery? i'm just saing this cause if the battery is bad condition, it charges quickly and then suddenly it'll be empty (in some cases) so you can't notice it. test your battery. it's worth a shot!
@Meivon, I'll give out a try to change battery & test again.. Let me try to get another battery. It happened twice when I slept in the night & in the morning I woke up but phone was not willing to wake up. But last 2 nights phone slept but woke up also in the morning when I just clicked power button. Not needed to hold it or connect USB. But still, I wanted to understand why it happened. Because I may not always be near a place when I can connect to USB to wake it up and moreover if phone is sleeping (deep), then there is no point in keeping the phone in the pocket as no body will be able to reach me.
Let me know if that helped!

Meanwhile, I have ordered a replacement battery and still awaiting the delivery.
Do you think, any thing else can solve my problem?
Thanks & Best Regards

After flashing 8773 ROM, situation is deteriorated. Now, even after 10 minutes of Idle period, my phone switches off. Earlier with 7720 it was switching off very few times & that also after 2-3 hrs of idle period.
Normal flash rom can solve many problems,if flasf rom can't solve the problem,I think the software is fine, the problem is on hardware.or you flash other rom

Hi All,
Thanks for all the help & support. I figured out the issue. It is neither power button, Battery or ROM issue.
This is caused due to the protective pouch.
If my phone is without pouch, then it is running normally for any time whether in use or idle. But if I keep it in pouch, after some time of idle, it switches off.
Can somebody tell me, why pouch is creating such issue, may be I'll attach a picture of my culprit pouch.

My pouch is full size with back & front flap attached at the bottom. Front side flap hangs down while in use. But in idle state, when flap is protecting the screen; magnet combinations at body side & flap side hold the flap. So 4 magnets on all the 4 corners of the screen, actually holds the flap.

I think that's because of the magnets! my friend once had this kind of problem with a Nokia N95.
