Hi
I have searched and found no answers to this particular question, I have recieved an o2 Ignito today as an upgrade for my partner, I have sucsessfully installed the solid black windows theme and the original HTC Touchflo, I have now found that the Comm Manager is still o2 blue, I have tried downloading the new updated comm manager which works but it is still blue. I basically want it to be the standard grey colours as on the original diamond but I am out of ideas, I don't really want to flash the ignito with a ROM from the forum as I don't really want to void the warranty. Putting the serial number into HTC Support has let me register the phone ok but It says the ROM upgrade is not compatible so that was a dead end.
If anyone has any info or solutions I would be most gratefull
Thanks
Richard
All files for this are located in the windows folder.
Maybe some guys from the forum can upload the files from a htc rom.
Just put the files in your windows folder an overwrite the old ones.

Had my Ignito last week and am still trying to get back up to speed with WM devices (2/3 years since my wizard). How did you make everything black? And do i NEED to be updating the comm manager?
Thanks.
Matt.
To get the windows top and bottom bars black I found a WM6 theme called soloblack.tsk once added to the windows directory it can be seen in the today settings and once applied it changes bars to solid black, the downside is the large start menu was still blue!! Changing the start menu to small icons seemed to fix this but I think this is again dependent on the theme you install so the files required were not there.
The comm manager seems to be theme dependant too, I found the original HTC Black theme but this didn't have data for the comm manager so it stayed the o2 blue colours, I tried another theme and it worked with the comm manager but the sound settings menu was looking horrid so at the moment I have taken it back to full o2 blue until i can find a full HTC black theme with the comm manager included etc.
Hope this makes sense.

Hey, just got a new Tilt, and i have already downloaded and installed the HTC Home plugin. But, i have been searching high and low for the Dialer and Comm plugins that are supposed to be 10 times better than the at&t version. I can't find them anywhere.
Can anyone tell me where i can find them?
Thanks in advance!
here is the dialer, coming from another thread that contains a whole archive of all htc apps,
but the comm-plugins (what do you mean by this?) are not included
have fun
im talking about the wireless manager. The HTC one is black and goes with the theme of the home screen and the dialer.
Thanks for the response.
Would anyone be so kind and up me the original htc black windows theme... and maybe the wallpaper? because i have an o2 diamond and im trying to get the nice desing back...
Thanks
The original unbranded Manila ui can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2358935&postcount=225
There's a black theme on the FTP (ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Trinity/CABs/Black_Theme_LVSW.zip)
I don't think there is a way to get the default wallpaper out. I've been looking at manila all morning to have a look at the possibility of skinning it; and it's .. um .. hard lol
Thx.. we will give it a try
ok...that unbranded manila was exactly what i am using...
What i wanted was the original black theme... just the windows theme of the diamond... the .tsk file is what i need.
oooh ... thx! these two files in combination was exactly what i've been asking for a few days ago
during the installtion of the manila.cab my device was frozen, and the installationprogress was at 75 - 80% but after a soft reset and a restart of tf3d everything is in nice htc-black/greyish colours.
thnx!

Hey guys,
I don´t quite get it. I have the blue o2 german TF3D ui too and i want to get rid of it.
Can I install that manila cab and I will get the original black HTC TF3D without a custom ROM?
Is it still in german then?
Is the colour of the taskbar changed too?
Is there any way to undo this completely?
Sorry for my questions, I just want to do this right!
Thanks in advance.
Thank u very much.. it worked...
but only the small start menu... the big one dosnt change...
Thx alot

Yes, it's without a custom rom (so it takes 20 mb of storage :/ ).
It is still german.
TF3D is nearly complete htc black then, only the connectionmanager stays "o2 like" blue und and as busta said, the big startmenu stays in the o2 blue ...
Yes i know only have this manila installed... I stoped the installation of the original one.. but know the Opera browser does not work in tf3d anymore...

opera still works for me ....
@horstborsch
i think the only way to uninstall is to perform a hardreset ...
installation isn't listed in the uninstall programms list.
please correct me if i'm wrong!
thanks for your answers. these are too many disadvantages at once.
- missing black for some taskbars and windows
- no homezone symbol
- to save 20mb on RAM I have to stop installation of deafult apps after
a hard reset and maybe all mail, sms and operator settings are gone...
I would likely try this out but by doing a hard reset I loose all my configurations and installed apps. So I have to do a bunch of configurations and installations again and that would last a whole day.
or is there any way to save configurations and reinstall them after a hard reset?
There's some sort of post hard rest config app in the Development section of XDA, can't remember what is called though.
You could also try Sprite Backup. It's on HTC Club and on this forum in various places. It will backup your settings, PIM and files and allow you to restore after a reset.
I may have missed something, but why don't you try a custom ROM. It'll get rid of all of the O2 crap. Plus they have network configuration settings for your MMS and o2 mobile web.
I got an idea on the missing color change of the big taskbar.
SkTools allows you to change a whole bunch of colors for different elements such as ToolTips, Taskbars etc.
try this?!
...
Could anyone reupload Theme_LVSW.zip? I cannot get to FTP server.
is this what you mean?
Sorry I meant this one.
The first one was in response to an earlier request.

Applying Black Manilla works just fine. However start menu is still T Mobile white. Even beaming across the original HTC Black theme and choosing that makes no difference.
However Im looking for Windows Messenger (the latest CAB on this forum didnt work) and You Tube App.
hmm i thought the start menu was just part of the theme file...
skin
I want to thank the poster of the manila theme!
I was Looking for this theme, cause the T-mobile theme with the pink logo's was so girlish
Also for other installers, during the install every thing went fine till it restarted. I looked like the phone started correctly, i heard bleeping and it shaked, but the screen was gray with borders.
After that I thought I messed something up, and tried a soft reset, after that it worked like a charm!
ok after lots of atempts i think i have got my compact to a state where you could call it de-branded??
i have got the black manilla theme from the diamond which is allot better than the pink and white! i have got windows live with messenger installed and working nicely, and i have finally managed to get the youtube app on it aswell, so apart from that is there anything else which needs to be changed software wise??
anyone else had any success with this? i know i could just flash another rom but i really want to stay under warranty
Cheers guys
Care to Share...
How You did it... step by step.
Speaking of warranty, I’m in the same boat. I got no issues of changing the ROM as long as I can get back if I need to.
We really need a copy of the T-Mobile Stock ROM!
i would also be very interested in knowing which version of messenger you got to work and where you located it
I know i can flash a different rom but don't really want to until a copy of the original t-mobile rom is available, just in case i need to revert back for warranty purposes.
how i installed Windows Live Mobile...
Okay guys bare with me and let me know if you have any success with this.....
firstly for Windows Live Mobile, i have tried loads of different cabs to get this working, but this has seemed to work for me,
1) install "Windows Live install 1st.cab" then soft reset, once you reset you will have windows live installed but there will be no messenger this should be fine if you just want hotmail.
*****make sure you dont uninstall the 1st cab! they both need to be on at the same time to work!*****
2) install "Windows Live install 2nd.cab" and again soft reset, once you reset you will have all of windows live including messenger just as it is on the stock diamond rom same version im pretty sure!
Windows live is now good to go! over wifi it will sync flawlessly, over gprs/3g it will be hit and miss, as it has been on every other device with wm6, Windows live mobile and T-mobile, i always get my emails however it will sometimes show a sync error aswell. (let me know how you get on here because i have had this connection issue with my last couple of phones!)
i take no credit for any of these files, they are already on this forum and i thank the guys who uploaded them first time around!
Original TouchFLO....
To get the original colours back into touchFLO i used the theme which was posted earlier in this thread on the first page, this does take up about 9mb of space though! however looks far better than the pink and white!
to change the start menu picture go to Start>Settings>System>TouchFlo and de-select 'Enable Large Start menu' this will then give you what ever themes your using start menu, however it wont be as large!

How did you get the you tube app to work?
There is a youtube VGA cab on this forum, which installs - however whenever you attempt to play a video there is an error message
Finally Youtube!
this was the most annoying one!
okay to install this...
1) Install "AdobeFlashLite.cab" this may or may not be required? however i installed it and everything works fine! maybe someone could try with out this and see if it still works.
2) install "HTC YouTube install 1st.cab" this will install the youtube app however it is a qvga version and looks rough on the awesome vga screen and everything is all over the place, however still works fine.
3) unzip the contents of "HTCYouTubeVGA install 2nd.zip" to your \Windows\ directory ensuring the files do go into the windows directory and not into another folder inside the windows directory i.e \Windows\HTCYou... you will be promted if you want to overwrite some files, you have to overwrite all of the existing 200 or so files!
4) do a soft reset for luck and you will now have the full youtube app aswell! exactly the same as on the diamond, i cant remember if i had to create the shortcut to the youtube app myself or if the cab did it, if you have to do it yourself the application is called youtube.exe and is in the \Windows\ folder!
Again all of these files have already been uploaded by others elsewhere in the forum! i have just got them all together, so a big thankyou to all of those members!
let me know your results
Cheers
I also did change the "on-pink" in the connection manager, this was on a dutch t-mobile device but it will probally also work on uk-versions. Just put these 2 files in the windows map with total commander or some other file manager.
Another thing I did was a hard reset and just before the branding kicks in a soft reset. You'll get a pretty clean phone, only some programs aren't installed like tf3d. For tf3d I downloaded the black manila from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408843&highlight=boinger66+black. Opera is also not installed so I will also try to install this from the same thread and give it a go.
Also you can remove the t-mobile connection button on the tf3d interface by using removing globe.cab from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406681
Cheers to craigwn for the windows live messenger and youtube posts - all cabs installed straight away and with a soft reboot between each one, now both apps work great!
One small thing - I installed the youtube, wlm and then the manila theme and have just realised all my contacts have disappeared. Not sure which one of these have done it (or a combination) as I didn't check in between, but will just get them back via activesync so no problem.

i think this may have something to do with wlm, if you choose to sync contacts, it messes with the phones contacts aswell! just uncheck the option to sync contacts in the future.
Guys,
New user - very impressed, found lots of good stuff here - hoping someone can help with this one:
I have had my Vodafone Touch Diamond for just over a month - very nice phone, awful speed!!! I hate the Vodafone default theme, so I had installed the default black one that I found here - very nice looking theme!!
Now I have just upgraded to the 1.93 Vodafone ROM, and the phone finally runs at a half-decent pace - problem is the nasty Vodafone them is back. I then re-installed the old black theme I had, and it has slowed the phone right down again (in fact slower than it was on the old ROM, and some graphics weren't as good) - it looks like the 1.93 ROM has a newer version of Touchflo (or is it the theme?). Basically, the phone, on the settings screen, says it is running Touchflo 3D version 1.1.34574.1_1630.38. It clearly is different, as the animation is less, and there are subtle changes (alphabetical index when selecting country or town in Weather, for example).
I would rather have the newer TouchFlo (the losses in animation are worth it for good performance).
So the question - anyone know where I can get the updated black Touchflo software for the 1.93 ROM? I appreciate I could flash a non-voda ROM into the phone, but would rather not - don't want to lose my Voda sat-nav, for instance.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated, guys.
Thanks
Paul
Hi Paul From Swindon,
I'm Nathan From Oxford lol....oh the hatred (football Terms)
I'm using the vodafone ROM and i installed this great Diamond TF3D Config Tool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749
I then also got the Black Diamond Theme, can't remember the link for that and saved it to my internal storage.
I then used the Config tool to install the black theme.
Its fairly quick and keeps the extras like sat nav etc.
I did try installing the new HTC ROM however it DID like you say removed all the settings and the vodafone extras. so it took me about an hour to find and install the Vodafone one again.
Annoying!
Also in Oxford
hi guys, Ralf here also in Oxford. I've had my Diamond for about the same time and been playing with some of the tweaks to try and speed it up. Interestingly I bumped into a guy in Carphonewarehouse the other day who was the Microsoft Trainer for the Diamond. He was great and spent about 20 mins showing me around some areas of the phone. The unit he was running was not Vodafone branded and was so amazingly quick. I've managed to up the speed a bit but it's still slow in comparison to the unit I saw the MS guy with.
To be honest I've been very wary of trying one of the other ROM upgrades as I don't want to brick my handset or loose the Vodafone Sat Nav etc.
I just looked and my handset is on ROM 1.37.161.2 dated 26/6/08.
Can you please point me in the direction of where you got the latest Vodfone ROM from and how easy it to apply it (I should also add that I'm using a Mac not a PC so if there is some PC based tool then I'll have a small problem using it).
Thanks
Ralf
heres the link for the official vodafone ROM update LINK
its a piece of cake to install, but not sure about using a mac!
just a quick thought about the vodafone sat nav;
once you've clicked through the initial link, it just downloads a cab (installation) file,
which is easy enough to find and copy through active sync onto your computer for safe keeping.
Thanks
Cheers for the info and link there, I managed to download the installer and am just waiting now until the new PC laptop I ordered for my wife arrives at the weekend so that I can give it a go.
Thanks
Ralf
In Finland here. I want to use the official ROM as well, but my provider doesn't have one available, and the HTC Europe site tells me that the ROM updater is not for my device.
Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
I am a registered e-club member, with the serial number registered. How can I get the ROM properly? Or if I install this one from Vodafone, will it affect my phone somehow?

Hi Nwilko,
Did you have to install HardSPL before flashing original HTC rom?
Hi Guys,
Thanks for your thoughts so far - sorry, been off-line all week.
Nathan, thanks for your thoughts - this is what I tried doing, but when I installed the defalt black theme from this site via the config tool, it went incredibly slowly, and lost some of the new features in the TouchFlo system, such as alphabetical indexes on the weather, and seemed to return some of the aminations that had been taken out - it was taking up to 5 seconds to scrol between main screens, much worse than before - I also noticed I couldn't read some of the text.
I guess what I could do with is the Touchflo software from the 1.93 ROM update. It, I assume, exists as a cab that installs when you first switch on a non-branded phone after a ROM update. I am guessing that default one already comes with the black theme, and has the speed and menu improvements.
I have tried to live with the Voda theme for the last week, but there is no getting away from the fact that it looks terrible. The whole phone just looks so good when the black theme is applied.
I am tempted just to try and install the HTC ROM and scrap my Voda one. I really didn't want to lose Sat-Nav - I agree the link on the Voda ROM just downloads a Cab file, but I am worried it won't activate - does something in the ROM tell it that ot's on a free subscription, or does the website activate it from the mobile number - I don't want to pay 4.99 per month for it! Anyone tried it?
Thanks
Paul
Guys,
Gave up on trying to get a newer black theme for my Vodafone TD. Bit the bullet, and installed Hard-SPL, and the latest factory ROM (thanks in large part to the exceellent info on this site!).
So far all looks good - nice and quick, lovely black theme once more, nice speed, and newer radio ROM too (the new Voda Rom still had older radio version).
Fingers crossed, it seems much better - and because I kept the Vodafone Sat-Nav CAB file, re-installed it and it seems to work fine!!
Coolio!!

I will install this rom

very good comments .I don't have time to do it now I am travelling abroad. I will be grateful if someone try it on vodafone devise, and rate it.
so, does anyone have the default black tf3d theme from a 1.93 rom?
guys i'm planing on buying either touch diamond or xda diamond (ignito)
i kinda like the xda more mostly because of the back cover.. but does boh of them share the same specs ??.. and i also heard that xdas are a bit slower then htc phones.. is that true ?.. and if this true can i un-brand the phone and make similar to htc ??
so if anyone could help .. plz reply
thanks,
Hi,
As far as i know, owning a Touch Diamond, you can remove the o2 touch flo software with flashing to a new rom. But seeing as I personally dont like Touch Flo, its laggy slow and does eat battery, I use SPB.
So otherwise the 2 phones should be the same.
why are you asking a question about buying a device on the Development and Hacking section?
Moved to the Diamond section.
I've got the Ignito and it's identical, (apart from the more professional battery cover).
You don't even need to flash the ROM to remove the O2 branding in TF3D. Just use TF3d Config and replace the theme with the default HTC black or whatever. It ships with v1.93 and I've had no problems with speed or anything yet, however I'm going to flash with Dutty's ROM once the bugs are all ironed out.
I cant get my theme to change, it only changes the top and bottom bars colours but the centre section remains the same o2 blue
How can i change the theme please ??
i have a ignito and have installed the latest ROM from 2.03 HTC (after installing hard SPL ofcourse)..its much faster and smoother
as for the touchflo being laggy, i never felt so with the 1.93 and 2.03 roms. Well, with the earlier roms it.
