Hehe...
Cool.. a 624MHz CPU (Marvel Tavor? who?)! Windows 6.1, integrated GPS, small form factor, but no VGA.. Oh well ;-)
hm... 256MB Flash + 128MB DDR + QVGA ... pretty common specs for mid-market pocket pc. I bet its not worth it.
Marvell Tavor is Intel XScale-based chip. Nothing in particular.
P.S: Better look at nVidia Tegra APX ;-)
and demos at youtube
THAT is the real phone xD
Yea that Tegra is sweet...I'm betting it won't come out till like 2011 though...just too good to be true.
The Tegra really is too good to be true. I mean a HDMI port
the same feeling about it..too good to be true...if it is released, i don't think the company will get the profit

Hello all.
I'm currently trying to find some new games for my Kaiser, and would love to play some emulators.
What I'm after are emulators that run at full speed (if possible) in landscape mode. Any ideas?
My M600i that is nearly 2 years old could play Megadrive at 100% speed WITH sound on a 250mhz processor: I hope the Kaiser can at least match that without the drivers
Thanks!

The original MC68000 was fabricated using an HMOS process with a 3.5-micron feature size. Initial engineering samples were released in late 1979. Production chips were available in 1980, with initial speed grades of 4, 6, and 8 MHz. 10 MHz chips became available during 1981, and 12.5 MHz chips during 1982. The 16.67 MHz "12F" version of the MC68000, the fastest version of the original HMOS chip, was not produced until the late 1980s.

You emulated a 10Mhz processor on a 250Mhz Processor, whoop-de-do
And my phone with a 400mhz processor can't. At least, not with the ones I've tried. Like I said: any ideas?
Until we get proper drivers, emulation will suffer on Kaiser. So far, the only system I've been able to get full speed and sound emulation out of is Gameboy via MorphGear.
Pocketnester is what I use. It works fine for me, although there is no support for landscape mode.

Thought that was the case. It's a shame. The GP2X can emulate more than us in 2D, with a slower processor. As did the M600i.
*sigh*
Oh well. I'm going to bite the bullet and get me a P1i I think. Luckily Mum needs a new phone (took her Atom for a swim).
Morphgear is probably the best one out there.
Anybody got a ink to Morphgear?

PocketNester does support landscape mode.
Just go to Options -> Graphics and turn off GAPI.
Someone knows if its possible to make a program to run Iphone programs (like Ibeer en games for Iphone) on a Diamond ?
Like you have the emultor voor nintendo games...
Just get an Ipod Touch
Short answer: no.
Long answer: nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
More serious answer: software emulation of devices (e.g. the SNES or other consoles) is really only possible if the hardware you're running the emulator on is two or three generations further advanced than the device being emulated. As the iPhone is a current gen device, and indeed it's likely to be more powerful than the Diamond itself, your chances of emulating it are less than zero.

Search for a bechmark Diamond vs iPhone.
Diamond is better but dont have Graphics drivers, laggy sounds some times, WIN MOBILE, etc...
iPhone is like a Mac Mini, can run anything designed for Mac more faster than the same software for windows...

When it comes to emulation the important part is the hardware. The Diamond has more RAM and a faster processor. The graphics processor is obviously very important, but I think that is the only aspect that may be different.
When you run Parallels on a mac mini, does that mean your mac mini is more powerful than your gaming desktop?

What arguments do you have for this statement?
Diamond has very poor graphics performance ATM.
@lede do you want to emulate iphone games if we cannot emulate even sega/snes perfectly? Not to mention native (2D - DirectDraw?) games..

spot on ahaha
heard some people say that iphone some gpu thingy
but apart from that there is a lot of overhead in emulating
which is why the person before said 2 or 3generation was required
and it would not be likely to cheat itunes to get to itune store
so it would be jail breake stuff too

People are confusing emulating chips with emulating the environment. The reason why you need 3 generations to emulate hardware is because hardware is a lot faster than software.
Both the iPhone and the Touch run on ARM processors, making running the iPhone environment on Windows Mobile possible, just like running Parallels on the mac, or WINE on Linux.

IM helping my friend build a computer... I built one in a few years and I planning on getting this build:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.328587
But its saying I need a discrete graphics card... Can some explain exactly what that is? Does that just mean it needs to be small?
Can some help me choose a good one for around $150? From new egg or zipzoomfly or another trusted known website with a good return policy.
Im looking for something that with play blu-rays and some gaming like gta 4.
Thanks a lot for your help.

You are right it means something low profile without huge fans, thats where you will have the issue when it comes to the line between good quality in games and a card that will fit!!
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ..._profile_graphics_card-_-14-129-144-_-Product
thats the profile i would assume it means instad of the cards that take up to slots on size.. and have leaf blowers...
edit: also that card will decode the video on the gpu instead of straining the cpu...games should run ok at medium resolutions.. posted the wrong card at first..
Gaming -- get a Geforce GTS 250 -- pretty small and has lots of variations -- like this low profile : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187098&cm_re=gts_250-_-14-187-098-_-Product
Little gaming -- Geforce GT 240 - has some passive cooling options (passive = no fans) -- like this :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500138&cm_re=gt_240-_-14-500-138-_-Product
But to be real -- If you get a low profile Graphic card without a fan -- then you cant do much gaming on it, cause it overheats more, therefore you cant put a big load on it and overclock it!!
So my suggestion would be - get a decent GTS 250, with a nice cooler, and then just make the fan spin slower!! :d - set the fan speed to about 60 - 70% and you wont be able to hear the fan! -- just go in newegg and search for "GTS 250" - check those which have 1gb of memory and a nice cooler (not those with plastic around - only metal)
Kristaps
got an ati 5770 and it's pretty good support dx11 but doubt my other system could keep up with the more fancy dx11 stuff but it was not that expensive
Thanks a lot guys. All this help is great. Once I built my computer I didn't keep up with all the latest and greatest so I playing catch up right now.

Thats not low profile so i would say no, why dont you buy the parts apart from the graphics and see how much room you have or...
use this search string on new egg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=False&Order=PRICED
dont buy a quadro from nvidia though...if you are putting blueray in try getting one with hdmi, it will also pass digital audio through so no need to hook up a lead from spdif to an external sound system, but if you do get an ati card it will also come with and adapter to pass audi over dvi-i.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ..._profile_graphics_card-_-14-129-145-_-Product is a good one for games also at the price range you stipulated.
By discreet i'm thinking what they really mean is depth "not width as low profile are, the case is more than large enough on width" as it's going to take up a PCI slot if larger than x amount, so what you need to take into consideration is how many PCI cards are you going to need if 1 then the whole gamble on does this card fit is out of the window and the world of GPU is in your grasp.
The one you linked mmafighter077 is amazing specification on Core Clock RAM DDR3 so bandwidth larger i would advise you speak to Newegg to ask about comparability even though i'm sure what i said above is the reason.
But i could be wrong
actually they dont really need to mention about discreet, read the case review http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146060 bottom left, some who has it says it can fit a geforce 280...

I wouldnt buy a nvidia one since i rwad that they are less spec as the ati ones for more money.
an ati equivilent of a nvidia costs less and performs better.

true!! -- But I cant help with ATI -- I dont know their model range only thing I know is - ATI 4870 or 4780 (dont remember the corect name but in the series with the first ati X2 card) is more powerfull than Nvidia GTX 260 but costs more than 50% less than GTX 260

> change "items on page" to 200
> goto a page that ur comfortable with the price range and start opening up tabs and when u found one with decent style , gpu and price , u know u got the best offer possible
(same way i buy my phones)
also it goes like this
desktop:
i7 > 4/6/8 core
i5 > 4 core
moblie:
i7 > 4core
i5 > 2 core with turbo
i3 > 2 core
Sweet thanks man Great advice, that's what I was doing on Ammazon forgot about eBay,
Got my air there, 400 pounds cheaper than from apple lol
I remember when I shopped for my laptop, and I chose Dell's XPS-M1530 (15" display), man talking about regretting not getting XPS-M1330 (13" display) instead, my laptop currently sits by my TV hooked up via HDMI with BT keyboard and mouse, and when I need to move I am catching myself on the thought 13" laptop would've been just perfect, lighter, and would've cost me less money
But anyway, it is your call, and it is all depends on what you are going to use it for.
In Sony world 1080p (1920x1080) = 1600 x 900!
So you're actually getting a display that's only 70% of full HD

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any knowledge / opinions regarding graphics cards. I'm tossing up weather to buy an Asus GTX 560Ti TOP as they seem to be fantastic for the price point ATM..... or wait for the new nVidia chipset release? Any ideas !?
How is the rest of your system looking? It might be a bit of an overkill, i would go with the GTX560 of 580, It should be ok for the next 2 years. Are you a hardcore gamer?
Hey mate, I'm not really a hard-core gamer but i figure for the price point i might as well go for it, plus a little bit of headroom would be nice.
Intel i7-2600k
8GB G-Skill DDR3 18600
60GB Sata 6Gbps SSD (For OS)
Various Drives for storage.

The 560 will give you some headroom too. And later down tbe road when prices drop on the Kepler drop you can upgrade to that one. Are you an overclocker? Squeeze a bit more out of the 2600k and 560 and you wont notice any real-life performance difference from the Kepler.
If Kepler flops like what I'm hearing I'll be pee'd off as I'm hoping for a price war at the high end so I can upgrade my GTX580.

Then you can sell your GTX580 to the OP since he isnt a hardcore gamer and everybody is happy. Solution found! Damn, I'm good. Lol.
I dont know if I would purchase such a high end video card the second it came out. I would wait like 5 months or until a second revision of the product so they can work out bugs with drivers or even with the manufacturing process.
Not to change the direction or anything but have you taken a look over at AMD? i use both products and the 7000 series is pretty good not to mention its latest and greatest 7990 6GB GDDR5 lol way too much ($800). but anyways....

Well it depends on what works best if you have intel Nvidia works best plus the processor speed too etc.....
680 GTX i tested a beta board for 2 weeks.
No issue's.. just damn power hungry.
I would suggest... once they revise and prices have dropped.
Else.. radeon makes some OP cards as well.
Memory
But basically aim for a 2GB Gddr5 card.. ^_^
Bus Width
Always check the bus width.. the wider the better. ^-^ 128 bit cards mostly suck. 256bit and upward are Can be OP cards..
Core clock speeds..
idk.. depend on manufacturer revision.. Higher clocks are almost always better.
Some cards like nvidia have shader and cuda engines... the may have separate clocks..
If you find a card you like... google it and see how it stacks up.. there are many sites will to provide info. ^_^
Good luck guy.
I disagree with the post above nvdia usually generate a lot less heat compare to amd and the definitely generate a lot less power.
In my opinion the best graphic card suited for the operator is hd6950 because of the price point and you can flash the bios to hd 6970 make it one of the best bang for buck .
