.... Is this possible?
Let me explain .... i use predominantly APN xxx.it (wap) to navigate (for a promo from my provider), and, only for email, APN yyy.it (email doesn't work with wap).
the meteo of TF3D doesn'nt work with wap, too, but with yyy.it all ok. Among the settings of Diamond I did not find the opportunity to "choose" the connection to use (if not that of the programs that "automatically ... etc." but that I must leave as APN wap for routine navigation).
is there a tweak or software that let me choose:
-- IE, Opera: APN xxx.it (wap)
-- Weather, more ... yyy.it ?
Thank you for your attention , and sorry for my english

Having problems connecting Skype via wifi. Seems to be the same bug that people are experiencing with IE (Opra works fine). I'm wondering if this will impact all wifi applications. Can anyone assist?
Otherwise the new rom is great, excellent battery life.

I have it fixed (including the IE problem)
You need to make sure your connection settings are as follows:
Start----->Settings------>Connections----->Advanced----->Select Networks
Programs that automatically connect to the internet use: My ISP
Programs that automatically connect to private network: T-mobile GPRS
Wooo hooo

Great - glad you got it working.
Now - the settings you described are "soft" - the reference to "T-Mobile GPRS" and "My ISP" are network connections "settings groups" in Microsoft pocket pc lingo. If you wanted to, you could edit each one and do things like change the GPRS gateway that they use, add a proxy or indicate that no proxy is needed, and add one or more network connections that are used by the "settings group".
It's a pretty powerful and flexible system - but whoever organized and designed the way it's all presented to users should be strung up. :x This has got to be one of the most convoluted, unintuitive user interfaces ever conceived, and it's really a disgrace because this really IS an area that lends itself very well to a clean hierarchical interface.
Anyway - what will be most telling is if you were to now look at the definition of the settings groups for "T-Mobile GPRS" and "My ISP". You will likely see that one of them uses "wap.voicestream.com" as an APN (access point name), while the other uses "internet2.voicestream.com" as the APN.
The name of the settings group is arbitrary - you just need to be sure that what's under the covers in each settings group is designated correctly for "private network" or "the Internet" connectivity, for the right APN, specifying or clearing the proxy definition, etc.
As a matter of fact, my groups are the reverse of yours -- "T-Mobile GPRS" is the name of the settings group that's being invoked on my MDA when I connect to the Internet...
have BB Connect installed on my Kaiser. I am able to get emails successfully over Blackberry and gmail. However, I cannot use Internet explorer over MediaNet.
GoogleMaps, the weather plugin, QuickGPS, etc can all get the data they need when connected through MediaNET but IE will not load any webpages. Also, if I connect to a wireless lan, the same thing happens. IE can't browse, but other apps access data just fine.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? There are no options to config connections within IE and the connection within settings seems to be correct (how else would the other applications be able to use MediaNET?).
Are there some proxy settings I need to change or fix? I was able to browse the internet with IE via wireless lan or medianet perfectly fine before BB Connect was configured.
Note:
I can launch BIS for internet explorer and use the Blackberry connection instead of MediaNET. Obviously though this is not optimal as BIS has lmited sites, low res pictures, etc.
I've noticed the same behavior. It happened when I opened the "email settings" icon. This opens pocket IE with an extra menu item. Since then, wifi works for all programs, but pocket IE just gives me a blank page...
Did a hard reset, and never used the 'email settings' thing again. Everything is fine now...
I've noticed the same issue. I've set my connection to medianet using the proxy, noproxy isp.cingular.com and wap.cingular.com. All other programs are able to get to the internet (google, live search, BBC internet explorer, etc.) except for the standard IE. I don't browse too often, so I use the BBC browser when I need one.
thanks all ... i know now not to click the email settings button ... did a hard reset and all is well ... MediaNet full web browsing kills BIS
Internet Explorer inoperable
Help please! I am using the Kaiser and have the following issues.
1. There are 2 capital 'E's in the top. One that says Blackberry Edge and the smaller E says Tmobile Blackberry Edge when tapped
2. I can not simultaneously use the browser to access the internet at the same time that I am using the blackberry service to access emails. One of the 2 must be suspended.
In other words, I would have to literally suspend blackberry in settings to go surf the web.
Does anyone have this issue? Can anyone at all offer assistance to correct the settings so both can work together.
Any leads greatly appreciated!! Michael
i am having the same problem. did not find a solution. started using xpress mail
Hi,
I have the same problem with my HTC Kaiser and T-Mobile Germany.
The funny thing is that T-Mobile doesn't support Blackberry on this device.
I just installed the BBConnect_WM6_Professional_BB_41.0.0.84.cab and restarted the device and was happy that all works fine. I got all my mails from company BES server, includes the security features which lock the device every 15 minutes.
If this will work with Blackberry mail for home users, I don't know. I tested the BBConnect only to our company server.
I have the same problem like users here has in this threat:
I can't use the Internet Explorer to browse in the Internet. That problem still exist on WLAN and on GPRS. I turned off the phone part and try to use WLAN, but I have the same problem.
I guess that the Blackberry Connect will modify the Internet Explorer (like other parts of the device) to enable security features.
If I use the Blackberry Browser I got the message that the service is not supported. I know that some colleague had the same problem with their Blackberry (Hardware device) and called T-Mobile to enable the service.
I can user Google Maps, IMAP-Mail profile, Weather software and other stuff from the Internet without problems (WLAN and GPRS), only the Internet Explorer and Media Player has problems to connect.
To solve the problem I will talk to the BES Admin or / and T-Mobile. If this will not solve my problems, I will install Opera Browser, which will hopefully work.....
Here are my versions:
Rom: 1.56.111.4 - 09/01/07
Radio: 1.27.12.32
Protocol: 22.45.99.07H

You have to go to registry:
hkey_current_user->software->microsoft->windows->current version->internet settings
and delete enableautodetect entry
This solve the problem for me

You can modify the registry key 'EnableAutoDetect' key found in the registry location:
[hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\curre ntversion\internet settings']
The default setting (that uses the proxy) is:
"EnableAutoDetect"=dword:00000000
(To disable proxy) Change it to:
"EnableAutoDetect"=dword:00000001
The best option is to delete the registry key (which I did) since some posts indicate this registry option gets set to 0 after a reset.

Hi,
I changed the IE settings EnableAutoDetect from 0 to 1 and everything works fine.
I tested Opera Browser as well and it's fine, but I don't like the Bookmark synchonisation, this is better in IE....
Thanks a lot
Erik
Heya,

I have been searching thru the forum and i can't find any specific information about it
i use windows live messenger, email , and browse with Opera...I do use live search and google map too and i am with the 19.99 total internet plan now..
Just want to see if it is possible to save the 13 bucks coz i don't need hotspot at all....
I have seen posts that about changing proxy and get the internet with PIE to work but it doesn't mention about other programs like tomtom google map live search and i don't want to change it to the T-zones without confirming this.
Could anyone help please?
i'm in the same boat as you, the 5.99 works on my dash, so i'm expecting it to work on the tilt, but i just cant get it to work...now when i open up PIE, it goes from connnecting, to loading to opening, and just stays there and then gives me error #502... so if you figure it out, def let me know, thanks
omar
Same here, I have posted a thread about it already but no replies, Here. Do let me know it thr is any, n i'll do the same.
I can confirm t-zone plan works fine with google map, push mail to exchange servers, browsing using IE, and regular smtp/pop email. The weather update progam on the today screen does not work. On the other hand, SBSH Pocket Weather does work (I let it update throughout the day). NTP time server service also does not work (using CityTime).
1. add new modem connection -- cellular line (gprs, 3g);
2. access point name -- wap.voicestream.com
3. leave password blank
4. proxy settings check "this network connects to internet";
5. check "use proxy server"
6. proxy server: 216.155.165.50
7. advanced: change http port from 80 to 8080
Under network management, set Internet Connection to the account just created above. Leave private network as "My Work Network".
Soft-reset.
If you have trouble with POP accounts, edit each POP account and change connection away from "My ISP" to the t-mobile account.
Cheers
Okay i have tested this setting for T zones and i am trying to add a few details on it.
1st. Windows Live and Windows Live Messenger does not work =/ I guess it is because it doesn't support proxy connection. I am wondering if anyone can somehow mod it or change the proxy settings of these two programs with registry or other means so i can actually use it?
2nd. PIE works right away with the setting, but Opera won't. Later i add the proxy server in the Opera setting then it works like a miracle too=)
3rd. Some other IM site such as communicationtube.net does support the login of msn using T zones...Kind of a substitute even tho the stock messenger works much better.
4th. for 13 bucks/month the only different is probably only on Windows Live and Windows Live messenger....or if someone can actually provide a mod version of these two programs or a tweak that changes their settings. T zones works perfect for kaiser...
I can confirm that GMM works with the method listed in the link below with the $5.99 T-Mobile Web plan and WM5. But "My Location" does not, may be my phone (Cingular 3125) http://www.ehow.com/how_2245457_tmobile-shadow-any-windows-mobile.html
Hello
my herald always reconnects to GPRS, however, this reg entry is set to 0:
HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\|gprs connection name|\AlwaysOn = 0 (DWORD decimal)
i use htc home plugin, and it has a weather plugin but i unchecked "download weather data automatically" at weather options.
i do not know why does it reconnects, but it is annoying...
please help me!
regards,
pulyka
Do you have push mail setup? (An exchange server?) If so, then that's your culprit.
hmm i dont think so..
what is that anyway?
It allows you to:
1. Recieve emails as they come, without having to syncronize every so minutes.
2. Setup an activesync that remotely stores your contact list, todo list and calendar, thus it can be edited online from any computer and restored easily when you're not near a computer but have to hard reset the phone.
Or at least, that's what I use it for.
This is how I killed it:
Start Menu
Settings
Connections Tab
Connections
Advanced Tab
Select Networks
In the top drop down choose anything but a T-Mobile network (I chose 'My Work Network' , which isn't configured).
If I want to use the GPRS I set the top drop down back to T-Mobile Data.
thank you, i will try it.
sorry if this has been asked a million times before i have been searching for two days trying to get the internet to work on ya sons touch diamond

Hi, I'm on the same network and on the Text and Web simplicity tariff. Here is what I did. The Windows mobile version I'm using is wm6.5.x, with the start menu at the bottom left.
To enter the settings first click "start", then click "setting", then "connections".
First click manage existing connections, and delete the modem connection specified in here. (Not required but advised) As this is configured by the device and the setting are incorrect.
Next go back a step. Then click add new modem connection.
“Select a Modem” should be set for “Cellular Line (GPRS)” or “Cellular Line GPRS/3G”
Now click “Next” to start inputting the operator specific settings.
Name the connection: O2 (PAYG)
Access Point Name (PAYG): payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username (PAYG) payandgo
Password: password
Tap “Advanced” and make sure both tabs have selected “Use Server Assigned IP Address”
Tap “Finish” then Tap “Proxy Settings”.
Select “This network connects to the Internet” and “ This network connects to a proxy server…”
Tap “Advanced” then WAP. Server address is: 193.113.200.195: Port 9201. Tap OK
Tap Socks: Server is 193.113.200.195: Port 1080. Type: Socks 4.
I can confirm these settings work as I use the internet everyday on my Touch Pro. Hope this helps. If you struggle pm me.
