Hi all,
Is there a registry tweak to increase the volume of the built-in speaker. I find that when the phone ringer is set to max volume I still find it quiet and often do not hear the phone ring.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I read somewhere that if you go to REG EDIT/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/CONTROL PANEL//SOUND CATAGORIES/RING......then to the setting "INITVOL"....then change the DWORD data to higher than it is (mine sits at 5...I jacked it to 15). Then soft-reset, and SUPPOSEDLY this makes the ring louder. There is also a setting right under this for "speaker", which was at 8 when I got mine...it is also now at 15.
Now, I honestly don't know how high this can be pushed, nor if it ACTUALLY does make it louder. I can say that i hear it fine...but man, if it does change it, it seems to change it very little...at least with the settings i use. I can also say it doesn't seem to have hurt anything. I asked around on the forums, and no one seems to have a better ansewer, nor can tell me if this is correct and just how high it can go. Hope this helps.
I seem to have the same problem any advice?
Volume
Reg tweaks is the answer...be careful tho....don't blow your speaker....you won't hear anything then
Thanks for the replies guys.
So as stated in the title, I can't adjust the in call volume when using the my Jabra BT160 headset. Regardless of how low or high I set the in call volume on the phone, the speaker volume on the headset doesn't increase.
the volume on the headset is all the way up and when I connect it to my motorola w490, i can adjust the volume just fine so the headset is not the problem for sure.
btw im running Open Touch 2.7
I've searched nearly every thread on the forum and tried every possible solution and go nowhere.
Any help?
so I found one last post that I decided to try out and it worked!

I found something that seems to improve the quality somewhat but I need others to verify because after playing with some many options I can not longer tell what is good and what is bad
Add the following key, by default it will NOT be there:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\SpkVolume
DWORD:10
You do not need to reset the phone what you need to do is unpair your BT device and then pair it again for the settings to take.
Please try and post results.
Thanks.....

I had this key in the registry already, and it was set to 15. I increased it to 50, and the volume is comfortable for me at this level. This resolved the volume issue.
However, the metallic-like sound is still present, as is the crackle and pop. I guess that is a BT stack issue that will be resolved with an update. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that to happen

OMG!! THANK YOU BOTH
This worked on my WING device with Open Touch 2.7 rom
I dont know what the rest of you guys are doing wrong but this worked for me. The d word value Spk Volume [notice the space between spk and volume] was already in my Audiogateway directory set to default 10. I changed that to 50 as suggested by Vasquja . I soft reset and then repaired with my headset and VIOLA!
Problem solved.
Hi, this solution doesn't work on my energy rom.
Have you some other ideas for me?
thanks
Does anyone know how I can increase the speakerphone volume?

He didn't ask for third party apps. He asked how he can increase speakerphone volume.
This is controlled by the system volume. Make sure your system volume is set higher. Mine is on 80% and is more than adequate.
Thanks,
I was hoping there was a registry tweak or something that will boost it more than the system volume does. Sometimes even when its at 100% I have trouble hearing the other party.
hi, i just want to ask that is there any way i can increase my ringtone volume?. i set it as highest as i can but it's still not loud enough. thank you
Anyone? my ringtone volume is way lower than normal, i dont know why .
Hello :]
i believe it could be two issues.
1. The ringtone it's self is encoded with a low volume.
2. There is a setting in the registry (i can't remember where) to raise the current max. (correct me if my memory has failed me ;] )

Guys on my x1 i am experiencing low volume when i set a call on speaker. Is this normal? I have cooked rom installed with TF3D. I have checked volume settings and its set to high. Any tweak i need to apply let me know.
I also have this problem on my X1 too, it's using stock Chinese ROM R3AA010. Anybody can help?
P.S. I used Audacity on PC to increase volume of my mp3 ringtones, it works well, but then the problem still is the "speaker phone mode" during call, I can't hear anything really when I put it on my desk. It's useless now. Can anyone help please?
It's been covered to death. Search for Audiopara
Or I have it hosted here >> http://wotid.com/xperia/apps.html too.
