Extenal hard drive, is it possible? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Just wondering if it is possible to link a powered external hard drive to to the mini usb on a wizard?
Second, can 2x PPCs be connected via mini usb for file sharing?
I would imagine it would require drivers for the mini usb, and some sort of pocket active sync on both ppc.
Finally, is it possible to boot multiple OSs as with a desktop? This way I could use a custom 6.1 rom most of the time, and a stock wm5 rom to run my airmagnet handheld

I dont think so
But you can buy a mini laptop or a TabletPC

Not on the Wizard.
But it'sm being worked on, on the Raphael that has USB host capabilitites in Bootloader Mode.

Kaiser as storage device

Hello all,
I have a problem: When I connect my Kaiser with a USB cable to a foreign computer it always wants to install drivers for my device, which, especially when i don't have administrative privilegs (school) renders my PDA useless.
So:
Is there a way (program/software?) to make the Kaiser look just like a USB stick for a PC? Just so that you can copy files?
WM5Storage
Google WM5Storage. Also works for WM6 and is fantastic. If activated your device is recognized as generic mass storage device.

Is WM5torage working out of the box, or does it still need the workaround with Softick Card Export?
wow, extremely fast reply, will check it out, thanks a LOT
however...I believe it is USB 1.1, not 2.0

Can you tether to an Asus Eee PC?

Just wondering if you can use the Kaiser's ICS to get on the internet with a tethered Asus Eee PC?
I'm due to pick one up to take abroad on Saturday (Eee PC) but it'll be about as much use as t1ts on a fish if i can't connect via my Kaiser to t'internet.
why not? Just install Wifirouter on the Kaiser. If you are going to convert it to WinXP, you could do that by BT and USB too
I was hoping ICS on the Kaiser would be workable as i've not got a copy of wmrouter and it looks like it's been pulled from here
I have the same problem. I've installed a lite version of XP, but can't install Activesync or any usb drivers for my Kaiser, therefore can't connect through my phone!
Any ideas? There is no bluetooth on these eee's, but there is wifi.

Kaiser only connects via ActiveSync

Hello,
as i wrote in the topic, my HTC Kaiser only connects to ActiveSync via USB.
From my Opal i know the Window that appears when i plug in the device via USB where I can choose if i want to connect via ActiveSync or USB Mass-Storage...
Is there any possibility to get this screen on my Kaiser?
I tried everything in the setting on the Phone...
And yes I can access the card via ActiveSync and my phone...
My System:
ROM: Windows 6.1 Original HTC Rom
Card: 16GB Sandisc SDHC Card
Thanks for your Help

The computer should automatically connect to the phone both ways. When you connect the phone to the computer, active sync will pop up. Once active synce says it is connected, open "My Computer" on your PC and the device should be listed there; that way you can access it as ActiveSync and USB storage. If that does not happen, than most likely you need to reinstall the driver.

Kaiser seen as a usb storage device?

I need my Kaiser being seen, by pc or other device, as a USB mass storage device.
The main need is for car charging...
My car has a Usb port to play mp3 on usb mass storage device.
This port provides enough power to charge my Kaiser.
Unfortunately, as the car doesn't recognize the Kaiser as a valid storage device, it makes a timeout warning and shuts off the port power.
On my previous WM5 phone, I used a tool (whose name I don't remember right now, but it doesn't work on WM6.5) that enables the phone being seen as a storage device.
Does anyone know a tool to obtain this behaviour?
Thanks for your help

Yes, the tool was WM5Storage.
It creates a USB mass storage device on my PC, but this device is not usable (XP asks to format it), even by checking/unchecking troubleshooting options in WM5Storage.
Right now I've been able to make SoftTick CardExport trial software work to reach this task.
I've to check the behaviour in my car USB port...

I actually have the same problem where my O2X, whether running stock, CM7, or CM10, is not recognized by one of my computers and it drives me crazy.
My desktop PC, work laptop, and even the infotainment system in my car (Ford Sync) all recognize the USB mass storage mode on my phone, in both CM7 and CM10. The desktop and work laptop also recognize the MTP mode on CM10.
However, my personal travel laptop absolutely refuses to recognize my O2X on any OS - the drivers refuse to install and all I can is charge the phone from the USB port. I've tried all three ports and they don't work, though they work with other phones using the same USB cable I use on my O2X. Really weird.
My solution for the time being - if I'm using my personal laptop and I need to transfer data, I use Bluetooth (if I don't have wifi available), or I dropbox/email it. Crude and inconvenient but no choice.
I've tried downloading all kinds of programs like PDAnet and so on, but it seems like the O2X just doesn't want to cooperate with my personal laptop.
It's not just my personal laptop that has a problem - the infotainment system in my dad's car also has trouble recognizing the USB mode on my phone and 75% of the time it shwos an error trying to read it.
I'm fairly certain it's LG's fault though - given how USB charging tends to BSOD it. My personal laptop has no trouble auto-installing drivers for pretty much everything else that's intended to plug-and-play into windows.
edit: I just realized, you have no problems with 4.0 but you have problems with 2.2/2.3? That's weird. Perhaps you might want to install adb drivers via the android SDK?
no one can help us!
