Does anyone know the part number of the front camera in our HTC diamond? I did some search and only found the one for Kaiser, which is 05P019 by LiteOn. Greatly appreciate it if someone can tell me where to get it as well.
Thanks in advance.
Just load the service manual, all the parts numbers are there.
Thanks! Part number for 2nd camera module is 54H00278-00M.

A few months ago there was a number of threads about the problems with the HTC Alpine camera, and someone found that there was a fundamental hardware fault which causes alternate lines in the picture to be swapped, thus the appalling quality of the pictures.
I also recall someone posting a small program (or a link to it) which would take an afflicted BMP file and correct this problem, but despite searching the forum I have failed to find it.
Would anyone be so kind as to remind me where to find this program, or is there another solution to this fault?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I tried one of the ROM images kindly provided, but the problem with the line-swapping on the pictures is still there.
In deperation I spent ages searching my very disorganised PC for that little program I found on xdadevelopers which swaps alternate lines and thus restores the pictures to the glory that HTC's abysmal engineering deprives them of.
Eventually I found it. It is called BMPChop.exe. It is a command line program to run on a PC, which swaps alternate lines then compresses the BMP file into JPEG, with the chosen compression level. The pictures look so much better once this has been done!
If anyone is interested, I can post it on this forum again (which is where I originally got it from).
But going back to the supposed camera-fixed ROM images, what has been changed other than removing the o2 camera patch? Has the ROM's author added his own patch to fix the line-swapping problem? It's just that I didn't find any improvement when using this ROM.
cheers
I would be interested to try the programme if you could post it on the forum, thanks.
Here it is:
many thanks. 8)
To be honest I can't see a difference between the 2. I took a picture with just a plain BMP file, converted it using the BMPChop and compared it with the new file and couldn't see a difference.
What command line are you supposed to use?
I used "BMPChop filename.bmp /100". The /100 sets highest JPEG quality. I have tried lower values but there is an obvious loss of quality.
The improvement in picture quality after running this program should be quite obvious, especially on diagonal edges and other line details, such as spectacle frames, which look jagged in the original images, especially if you zoom in a bit.
hello to everyone

Over at http://www.htcwiki.com/page/ATT+TILT (HTC TILT WIKI) The second to last item above under "New Features, Software, Resources and How To's:" is "AT&T Tilt (Kaiser) Camera HotFix:" which contains a CAB file to "correct the cross pattern under Zoom when using the camera on your AT&T Tilt (Kaiser, TyTN II)" After installing this "fix" I no longer can see what I am taking pictures of...The "viewfinder" screen on the camera is dark. I do get all of the options "x", "Photo", 1x, Album, and Menu....but just the camera does not show what I am taking a picture of. After taking the picture , the actual picture displays correctly, but in the "picture Taking mode" it is blank....Any suggestions? The phone takes pictures OK, you just cannot see what you are taking a picture of!
I am having the same problem! Can any of the HTC geniuses help us?

Hey guys,
I need a hand, It is an easy task, but unfortunately I have no Xperia so i must ask for a little help here.
What I need is someone with knowledge of registry, shortcuts & arguments to lend a quick glance to their device.
I need to know what shortcut the camera button is calling, What the registry for the button is including any arguments.
Baiscally the X2 Camera works on other devices with out the lag of the HTC camera. Unfortunately the newer HTC devices use a touchscreen button or v-button to snap the pi, or start video.
I want to map a key on the TP2 to hook the X2 camera snap / start video functions, but I have no X2 to look at. If someone could please take a look at the registry settings for the buttons controlling the camera function & also any short cuts, you can open in note pad or post a copy sp I can see what arguments they are calling to get the picture to snap or video to start rolling.
Thanks Again!
i basically cant help you with what your requesting but...
im curious...
what's your goal on this?
sorry
I'm also just curios...
x2's camera is 8mp, there's no HTC device with more than 5mp. Does the x2 software work on a device with lower resolution cam ?
Does anyone have a guide to disassembling an AT&T HTC Pure. I can't manage to expose the internal antenna so i can get to the screws near it. If anyone could help I would be so thankful.
Is this of any help to you? (its Topaz not Pure)

HTC Pure
After extensive looking - this link looked promising however the original question is not answered here. The back panel where the internal antennae is already off in the video whearas the question is how to remove it.
Does anyone know how to or where to find a video explaining how to get to the second set of screws on the HTC Pure ? ( ST6356 )
I had been beset by the same problem as I had to replace the damaged screen. It is is not really as difficult as it seems. HTC Pure is same as HTC Topaz or Diamond 2 except for the location of bottom screws which are located under the plate under the front which is glued with double sided tape and can can be easily pried open. Then follow any guide for Topaz. There is very helpful guide in Russian. Just paste the link in Google Chrome browser and translate it. Here are the relevant links...
