Bad cid-unlock, maybe

Hi; I tried to unlock my G3 wizard and now I think I am very stupid.
First, I get CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe and upgrade wizard, on wizard was IPL 1.xx SPL 2.xx, GSM also anything, but OS nothing. Blank line. Then that booted to bootloader.
So I tried RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_WWE.exe, it wrote IPL 2.26, SPL 2.26 and OS nothing. Then i tried t-mobile rom, but it didn't work, because "only upgrade".
I tried through CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe, so now I have IPL 1.01, SPL 2.26, GSM something, OS nothing (blank line) and I think I'm stupid.
Any ideas? Thank you...

Make sure that you have unlocked the device correctly. Read Dr. P's sticky:A Definitive Guide to Unlocking G3 Wizards and also the wiki.

I know that i haven't unlocked my wizard The problem was before that I started unlock... OS disappeared after first flash.

Reflash with the Button 1.05 Rom, if the IPL & SPL don't match after the first flash then flash a second time with the same Rom, that should fix IPL/SPL problems.
Now Unlock your device BEFORE flashng a 2.x Rom.
Dr P's Sticky Thread covers this, please read it throughly..

I reflashed Button ROM for three times, I still have IPL 1.01 and SPL 2.26.

I can not connect my device, because I haven't OS on Wizard, he boots only to bootloader (with IPL 1.01 and SPL 2.26). I can flash from PC, but then I never have OS od MDA.
I read the "A Definitive Guide to Unlocking G3 Wizards" many times, but I dont's see any solution...
Maybe I have strange wizard

When all else fails, flash an official Rom from your Service Provider. That should get you back to working order then proceed with the unlocking from there.

When I say "Connect your device" I mean to connect it to the USB cable. Two paragraphs after item 17 I address this issue. You don't need an OS, just be in the bootloader screen. I've personally had this exact same thing happen where all I had was the IPL and SPL with nothing else. Remove battery from PDA and then put it back in. Make sure you reboot your PC.

good idea, but it doesn't work; because "upgrade only" - My originally T-Mobile ROM is only 2.21, so I can't flash it
17. My suggestion, take for what it's worth, is to download and install the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM This will give you a strong 2.26 IPL and SPL to work with.

Let's say: "Michalek is very stupid, we'll write him "what to do" step by step" ) something like "You asshol, connect your mda in bootloader to pc via usb, then download this, run it, then ...".
Because manual doesn't work for me, probably.

New year, new way I tried to flash today - and - i see OS, I'm in OS, I'm going to unlock wizard based on Unlocking Tutorial ;-)

-Michalek- Well that's wha we like to hear! The 1.05 works great as a disaster recovery tool. Most times when it doesn't work I tend to lean on the PC as the culprit. CHKDSK, temp files, spyware and virus's, etc.

I'm glad it's working for you! Don't feel stupid though. My first attempt at loading a new rom went very similar. The CID unlock process told me it was successful (I thought) but it wasn't. I freaked out and thought all was lost. But I finally worked through it by going back to the Button ROM (LOVE THAT BEER SPLASH SCREEN) and starting over. The same problem even happened again about three weeks ago. After freaking out, I reloaded the Button ROM and was back on my way to normalcy

MDA is running on Superrom 1.1 and it works!
I don't know, what exactly was the problem with OS, but it helped me, when I left MDA cca three hours without battery. When I flashed the ROM before, OS wasn't.
At the last time, THANK ALL OF YOU VERY MUCH. And special thanks for Dr Puttingham and his unlocking tutorial. Thanks.

Help me! Wizard died

For mistake install in my G4 the rom RUU WIZARD 10.2.0.8 2.61.11 PV FIX2, it has changed the IPL to 3.08 and now does not ignite me, does not synchronize me, anything of anything. Died. Can I recover her?, and since?

Changing the IPL and/or SPL on a G4 usually turns the phone into a brick (it: its dead). Try getting to the bootloader screen (hold down the camera button while you power it on.) If you can get to the "rainbow" screen then you can hook up your USB cable and flash your carriers latest official rom and see if that corrects this. But my guess is you can't even get to the bootloader screen due to what has happened.
Beyond that, you will need to look into doing a JTAG recovery. I've never done this and don't know how its done (have just seen some posts indicating people with bricked phones were able to save their phone this way, so you will have to search for it (or hope one of those people posts back here)).
Since this is a G4, I'd suggest you post in the Wizard G4 forum and you might get more help there. Then use the search feature here (or google search) to see what you can find out about JTAG on a wizard.

[PROBLEM] MDA Vario(qtek 9100); flash ROM problem

hello,
yesterday i tried to flash my MDA Vario I ( Qtek 9100), but and today i it was "broken".
I still get in the Bootloadermode, so i tried to install/update a new ROM, it installs itself but nothing changes. And when i try to hard restet it, it doenst work, it says something like that " error can't formate". Is this a sign that my phone isnt CID unlocked, if yes the Lokiwiz.bat lied to me . The only think that changed with the updates where the SPL and IPL.
Ah before i forget i cant get passed the first Splash Screen, the one wich tells meh wich SPL and IPL version i have.
Hope you guys can help me. Thank you Thomme.

My SPL is: 3.08, IPL: 1.01
GSM: 02.47.11
OS: 1.5.4.2
my Splashscreen is: "a Beer in front of the Collosseum " I think some ROM changed it to that. :-/
EDIT2: Iam able to change the splash Screen but nothing else...
EDIT3: I send the phone back to tmobile, maybe i am lucky and they replace it, yes they replaced my Phone *yeahh * ...

IPL doesnt change anymore! (1.01)

I have a CID unlocked wizard which has seen many roms, without any problems.
Lately I upgraded to IPL/SPL 3.08 and tried the touchflo rom.
Since it didnt work as expected, i presumed i needed to go back to the button rom before burning yet another rom.
Guess that was a mistake. I am now stuck on IPL 1.01 ! Whatever I do, cant get it to go to anything higher. Tried 2.26 IPL/SPL only, the full t-mobile version, the 3.08 again (which gives me spl 3.08 only this time), the german rom etc.
All that changes is the SPL. Tried installing enablerapi again, no result.
I can always get back to 1.01 IPL/SPL but THAT's IT ! NO other ROM works anymore!
What to do, what have i done....

You mean you can flash and work with Button ROM?
If so why not try to go from there to Qtek WWE 1.06, then 2.17 or 2.26?

tried flashing to 1.06 .. and got at 96% that the NBF was no good for my device.
However it changed the spl to 1.01.0000 instead of 1.01.

you should flash the buttom or love rom over and over again til you get both spl and ipl to 1.xx. people in the the threads have commented that sometimes it could take up to 8 flashes or more to eventually get it to work...dunno what causes it, but afterwards, flashing to a carrier rom should be fine...

I can get both IPL and SPL the same without a problem.
Both are 1.01 at that point.
I have been burning ROMs for a year now, so I know about this stuff already.
It must have something to do with going back from 3.08.
I have been on 3.08 both IPL and SPL dont forget!
At 1.01/1.01 IPL/SPL I still can not burn any ROM without error.
It wasnt like this before, have been on high numbers already.

after trying yet another operator ROM, gone back to IPL/SPL 1.01/Button ROM.
(shouldnt it say 1.05 btw?)
Button doesnt fully install anymore.. it gets stuck at about 98% after discobuttons.cab on the extended rom installation.
maybe that is a hint?
should i reinstall enableRAPI and cert_spcs before upgrading? my phone is cid unlocked for sure, and the service tool also says it is.

* it got me 1.01 / 1.05
* reinstalling mini

It means you can take it as far as installing extended_rom? Why don't you soft-reset the phone when the message of the 3 seconds appear?
if you're just installing button rom as a step to higher roms why the extended_rom? Simply forget about it and install 2.xx

No roms worked anymore, so tried ipl/spl 2.26 together with the installer from button.. it gave me 2.26 on spl again. NO change still on IPL.
IPL seems pretty stuck on 1.01.

in case it helps, are you flashing on windows xp or windows vista?

Here, try this. It's IPL/SPL 1.05 only. I'm not sure if it will work but it's worth a try.

It gives me 1.01 / 1.05 ....

I think i found a new way to brick a wizard, goto 3.08 and back to 1.01
However, I think the phone not fully installing the extended rom must be a hint, since it usually had no problems with this.
Now on love and button, it stops at discobuttons.

Hate to tell you this, but I'm out of ideas at the moment. If I think of something, I'll let you know though.
Just a quick thought though, did you try removing the battery for about a half hour or so and then trying it again?

apart from the 'not being able to fully install extended rom' another thing that is remarkable is that the wizard service tool says I don't have a Wizard, after that however the info is correct (wiza200, cid unlocked etc).
further most ROM installers now crash at about 95% with error 320 saying the NBF is not made for my device.
is there anyone that has succesfully been on ipl/spl 3.08, down to button and up to 3.08again?
something else, the bootscreen doesnt show a GSM ROM version anymore, is that normal on ipl 1.01, could it be that i need to downgrade to certain gsm version ?
^$%#$ i dont think i can get the t-mobile service department to fall for my bricked mda excuses for a second time.
was pretty proud i got them to fix it for free first time i bricked it.. but this is different hehe....
(in case you wonder: 24volts made them not discover the cid lock, just created a bigger problem for the phone so they gave me whole new pcb.. i said the powersuply caused it )

The person that I was helping on that other thread successfully got his from 3.08 down to 1.01 and then back again. It wasn't easy, but getting theirs back up was a walk in the park compared to yours. I seriously hope that leaving the battery out over night does the trick because I'm pretty much at a loss as to what else to do.
It not showing a gsm version shouldn't be a big deal. You said that your rom installers are shutting down at 95% so it just may not be installing the radio, but your wizard should still operate without it. You just wouldn't be able to do any phone related things like make calls etc. but everything else should still work.
Don't worry about the wizard service tool saying that it isn't a wizard, it says that when I run it on mine too.
Just a thought, and definitely not a suggestion since you mentioned the 24v thing, do you have insurance on it? Accidentally dropping it in the bathtub might help solve your problem, not that I would ever condone insurance fraud or anything like that. All you would be out would be whatever your deductible is, although if your deductible is like mine it still wouldn't be cheap. I'd still give a little more time before doing anything rash anyway.

good idea, but on the limit for this kind of thing for this phone as you can understand from the 24v issue
now at work, phone doing without battery all night... told him it is final warning, maybe taking his juice away will make him realise it is time to get to life

oh man it got really angry with me.
on the wizardlove rom i had no radio @ all. but no charging or power info either!
you guessed it, been playing with wires and a 1.5v-12v powersupply set on 4.5v. Since it was doing it's paperweight imitation on me.
Got power back on 39%, going for a uuh 41% walk of my labrador.

Btw, extended rom in wst is unknown... is that any hint?
could protocol version be a hint?
next thing i try is flash another radio first, turn around the sequence.

Hmm, with the things that are hapening right now, no radio and the extended rom being unknown, I'm starting to think maybe the rom you're flashing has somehow become corrupted. You don't really need to worry about the ROM or the radio too much anyway, that shouldn't really have any bearing on whether you can get your IPL up or not. Try just flashing the 1.05 IPL/SPL update or the 2.26 update again and see if leaving the battery out for a while finally lets you upgrade it.

IPL locked on 1.01

Hello all,
I am somewhat of a newby here, but I have successfully unlocked my Cingular 8125 and installed a couple of WM6 ROMs. I followed the procedure of downgrading to Button 1.05 ROM, then running Lociwiz, then installing T-Mobile 2.26, then WM6 ROM. Worked great...until now.
I was going to try another ROM, and I followed above procedures (didn't know if I needed to after initial unlocking, but I did anyway). At the "install T-Mobile 2.26" step, after 1 %, I got an error 326?, nb file not for this device. I can still install cooked WM6 ROMs, and the SPL changes, but IPL always remains at 1.01. If I try to install IPL/SPL 3.08 CAB, SPL changes to 3.08, IPL stays at 1.01. I have re-installed Button Rom 1.05 and run Lociwiz a dozen times to no effect. Even the Cingular WM5 OS meant for this device gives me the same error code as the T-Mobile.
I'm hoping this is a simple newby error. Anybody have any suggestions.

By the way, after loading Button ROM, my Wizard hangs during the customization routine at Signed_DiscoButton8.sa. I must soft reset.

I got exactly the same problem.
I am now on IPL 1.01 , SPL 3.08, radio 2.69, using rom NBD 8.3
doesnt seem a problem however...

Make backup of the CID block (VERY VERY important!!!)
Make backup of the GSM calibration block (VERY VERY important!!!)
Kill wcescomm.exe process
Start mtty, enter bootloader mode in Wizard and connect
type doctest (this will write test patterns in DOC chip and clear all data!)
Flash button ROM (1.01_IPL/1.01_SPL/1.05_OS)
Flash CID block backup (don't miss this)
Flash GSM calibration backup (important)
If all ok then remember to upgrade to 2.xx before installing WM6!!

anyway, there was point where the phone had same values for IPL/SPL (not too bad ). What is strange is why phone didn't boot anymore after flashing the GSM calibration and saying the flashes weren't suited for the phone.
What state is it on now? Wanna go again? This time, instead of flashing the 'GSM calibration data' do a simple IMEI writing and try to unlock CID before upgrading to official ROMs

IPL locked on 2.26
I am having the same issue. I have tried numberous times to load my original rom and get the 326 error @ 1%. My ipl remains locked on 2.26. Is there any way to fix this? Please help.

it is now on 1.01, got my own imei back, spl 3.08, nbd 8.x rom...
everything fine again.. pretty sure it has something to do with ext.rom and/or write protection of it.. will give it another shot but not this month.. getting busy
@acmickey, not sure if you got same issue... is your IPL 1.01? else you might just have a locked phone..

I followed your example and loaded BSD8.3 ROM and IPL/SPL 3.08 and radio 2.69. Everything seems to be fine. No missed calls. All programs work (touchflo is pretty cool). IPL is still locked on 1.01, even though SPL is 3.08.
I tend to agree with you that something is suspicious concerning the extended ROM. The first symptom I had that something was wrong was after loading Button's ROM, during the customization routine, Signed_DiscoButton8 would not install. Phone locked up and had to soft reset.
Oh, well, at least the phone works. The downside, of course, is that you can't load an original ROM, even though you can load a cooked one. Weird, huh?
Hopefully someone a lot more knowledgeable than I will figure this one out soon. Will keep checking the boards. At least we don't have bricks.

I am having the exact same problem as the 1st post but my ipl is stuck on 2.26. I am using an unlocked device and I have no problem downgrading/upgrading the spl. I also get the 326 error when I try to flash back to the original rom. (I used to be able to do this without a problem - I can't figure out what happened.)
It's really weird and I have search and searched and can't seem to figure out a solution.

sorry to mislead you buddy but acmickey got it all wrong and, instead of IPL stuck at 2.26 and SPL 1.01, he has same as you IPL 'locked' at 1.01
So my theory could not be verified.
