Can't download Windows Live mail attachment - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi,
I'm having a trouble here with my Hotmail attachements on Touch Diamond. I get all the messages fine, but when I try to download any e-mail attachments it ends up with an error "Failed to get an e-mail attachment". It says attachment will downoad next time you connect and thats it...next message is error after pressing send/receive...
Any ideas?

Missing Message Body Text

I've just set up Gmail IMAP on my Kaiser, but I can't seem to get any of the message body to show. I've used the folder setup to specify the entire message to be downloaded including attachments.
On a test email I have sent with subject as "test test test" with the same message body. Also attached a 200k jpg file. My Gmail account downloaded the message, including the attachment - but no message body!?
Any ideas why the message body would be missing?
I'm pretty sure it's not a Gmail or IMAP issue, as I had this problem on my Hermes (Vario II) with a POP mail account.
Thanks,
FrankyG
I'm afraid it's a Gmail issue: http://groups.google.com/group/Gmai...8284ba446c/dc821659318f2bd2?q=imap+wm&lnk=ol&
I've just had this happen on my HTC Kaiser and I do NOT use Gmail...
E-mail was working fine for months. Now when I try and view any e-mail (POP, Windows Live or ActiveSync accounts) the "From", "To", and "Subject" fields are all visible as well as any e-mail attachments. However the body of the e-mail is entirely blank. Outlook is set to download the entire body so it's not a "headers only" issue.
Also SMS inbox works fine...so it is only e-mail.
I've tried deleting the cemail.vol database to see if it was a database corruption problem but it didn't resolve my problem.
Any ideas?

E-mail Attachments....

For Some reason I can not get my e-mail attachments. I set-up my e-mail as POP Mail and I could see the e-mail with attachment symbol, when I open the e-mail it says that "Message and download will download next time you connect". When I do send/receive to get the e-mail and open it, I don't see the attachment as afile in the e-mail so that I could click on it to save it to a directory.
I also directed the e-mail program to save attachment in Storage Card but when I go there I don't see anything.
Any Ideas?
you need to close the email first, then press the send and receive again.
kms
Got it, for some reason I have to press the send/receive twice and then wait until the attachment shows up.
Thanx,

I have the same...is it really impossible to get at once?
Mine works fine now, for some reason I don't have to do anything it just downloads the attachments, try to send yourself a test attachment but don't open the mail and wait a little to see if it downloads the attachment, for some reason if you open the the e-mail it perhaps doesn't download the attachment. Did you set-up you mail to download attachments automatically and store them on the Storage Card?

Problem with POP3 email attachments

I am collecting my mail from a POP3 mailbox but am unable to view or open any attachments.
The header of the message is received and there is a link in the message that gives me the option to download the full message and any attachments. When I click this the message changes to say that the attachment will be downloaded the next time I do a "Send and Receive".
On selecting "Send and Receive" the phone connects and appears to download the attachment. I say this because if it is a large attachment the phone says it is downloading for some minutes. If it is a small attachment the time is much shorter.
Either way when the download is complete any text in the message is visible but there is no sign of an attachment.
If I use ActiveSync to collect the same mail from my PC all the attachments are visible and can be opened.
Any thoughts or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
do you have a full data plan? I had this problem with using tzones or one of the lower plans

Jonathan - thanks for the response.
I don't believe the data plan is the problem - I have 3GB a month allowance and can easily download files etc. via the web browser.
Perhaps if anyone else uses a POP3 mailbox they could confirm whether or not they can pick up attachments.
I can say that I can have received, opened, and viewed PDF's on my phone so it can work. I'm sure you've checked, but in the email account Menu>Tools>Options>"your pop3 account" go thru the steps until the last one before finish and make sure that the "message download limit" drop down box is set to "Entire Message", (choices are 2, 5, 20, 50k, Headers Only, Entire Message).
Good Luck!
Reme - thanks so much for the reply
I take it you are talking about mail that has been received from a POP3 mail server rather than from Exchange or via ActiveSync.
If so then it is very strange. The message size in my Inbox would seem to indicate that the attachment has been downloaded but there is no link to open or save it.
Unless anyone else has any ideas I suppose will have to try a factory reset.
...was this issue ever properly resolved as am getting exactly the same problem with my XDA MiniS/Qtek 9100? Problem started out of the blue some days ago and has nothing to do with tariff/network settings or email settings on the device. The bizarre thing is that if I compile an email with attachment on my other WM device (XDA IIi) and use the MiniS to collect the email (POP3) then all OK! (and vice versa). Any emails with attachments that are not compiled and sent by a WM device work on the XDA IIi but no longer work on the MiniS - bizarre....
Same symptoms as thread author... download an entire email which I know has attachment and the message size is correct but no paperclip icon on the message in the inbox list and no attachment file icon in the message header itself - just an empty message (except for any text that might be in the body of the message).
Have tried hard reset and restoring from a full back-up but the backup simply recreates the problem as no doubt the screwy file/registry entry/whatever is preserved in the back-up making process. Am trying to avoid complete hard reset without a restore as do not want to lose my Contacts/Calendar data and the laborious process of reinstalling all my programs - some of which will then need activating again due to DRM licences.
Oh, and I have tried deleting the email account and recreating it but the problem will not go away...

browser email attachment problem

Hi,
I was downloading an email attachment from my private email. I access this email site via stock browser.
When I click on attachment to download, browser loads shortly but don't download. I was sure that I could download from this email site. When I try save link, it gives me data connection fail msg in downloader.
Is anyone having a similar experience?
any advice is appreciated.
