cannot boot device. - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

hi, i have my htc touch diamond flashed with BElite's ROM and this is the first time it happened, and I can't boot the device. It will act like it's starting up, and past the first "htc touch diamond" that shows on the screen, it'll show hte RGB on the bottom right and go black normally, then show it again but with RGB lines all over the screen. sometimes itll make hte htc sound and show hte htc thing then go back to the rgb lines. when i hit reset, the screen is full of different colored lines up and down

Hard reset, and if that fails, reflash?

i hit the reset button on the back, but everytime it turns on, it just shows a messed up screen. sometimes white fuzz, sometimes rgb crazy lines, and i think my d-pad and the back is heating up a bit....sometimes itll show hte initial screen.

The reset button only does a soft reset, which doesn't sound like it's helping, try hard reset and see what that does.

i tried the hard reset method, but the message that's supposed to pop up doesn't show and no response. maybe its an overheat problem so im letting it sit. but i don't know. The warranty is obviously voided so sending it in is going to cost a lot of...cha-ching.

Hmm... before you flashed, did you do all the things like install HardSPL? If you connect the device to the computer, does it connect (so you can do another flash)?

yeah I have the HardSPL flashed on it. Everything has been working perfectly until this afternooon when i pulled my phone out of my pocket and the screen was fuzzed. I let it sit for hours and it SEEMED to get better because it showed the "device is preparing for first use" screen but the bottom half was crooked and off to a side. and it froze like that. btw thanks for all your help

I let it sit overnight, then this morning when i tried it. EVERYTHING was perfect, i got the date and time setup and the calibration, but when it started to load windows, it frozen, restarted itself and showed rgb dots around the touch diamond initial screen. Thanks for any help.

new symptom: when i plug it in to charge, both pc and ac, it shows that it's charging and it gets warm but, when i unplug it, it keeps showing the center key flashing in the circle it does when it's charging. and it never finishes charging.

Frequent lockups right after the HTC logo on boot?

New HTC Tytn II... upon soft reset, more often then not it shows the "smart mobility" screen, the HTC logo, then the screen goes dark. The unit remains on (radio light blinks), but otherwise the unit is totally locked up.
Takes a lot of soft resets and eventually it boots past the HTC logo (goes to the green Windows Mobile logo screen).
Any ideas?

try doing a hard reset: keep both of the soft keys pressed(these are keys between the green and red phone keys; on top of the internet and messaging symbol) and insert your stylus into the reset hole on bottom. Keep them pressed for a while- than its going to bring a screen which will basically ask you if you want to erase all data and restore manfacuturer's original settings hit the send key as the statement says and phone will reboot. If my directions aren't clear than search the kaiser wiki and it will bring up the info you need.
If this doesn't solve your problem than i would suggest getting in touch with HTC or whoever you bought the phone from to get an exchange as, if its new, its still probably under warranty (granted you haven't flashed a spl or rom on to it in which case you need to go back to original spl and rom).

Fatal problem with my s730

I accidentally dropped my s730 today. After doing so the screen froze and the phone didn't respond in any way so I turned it off by removing the battery. After trying to turn it on all i get is a split second fail message that says "No Image Found" and then i get a red, green, blue and white screen which says "WING220 SPL-1.31.0000 CPLD-7.
In the white portion it says "Serial" and when I connect with a USB cable it switches to "USB" other than that it doesn't respond in any way shape or form I've been able to figure out yet. A hard-reset using the soft buttons and on button hasn't worked either.
Any advice on how to fix this or am I screwed?
Just flash a rom
Have you put HardSPL or something on? Wouldnt have expected the phone to allow you into that screen without changes. I also wouldnt see it wiping your OS from the phone since its an SSD not a standard disc drive. In the drop you could have damaged the intnernal memory and now its showing the default screen from the chipset?
Give what Sh1n1 said a try and see if flashing a rom will take. Otherwise you might have something broken internally that needs to be repaired.
I haven't installed hardspl or anything like that. Guess I'll try flashing a rom.
What you are seeing is the Tri-Color-Boot screen. Accessed by pressing the camera button and powering on at the same time.
Sounds like the drop made the camera-button defect. Try prying it out carefully (don't pull it out of the shell) and powercycle the phone, or try pushing it some times with the power off. The power on the device.

Diamond boots, then goes blank.

I'm not sure what I did - it was working find not too long ago today. Now when I turn it on, it shows the HTC Diamond screen, then the Sprint animation, then what looks like the outlines of two windows opening in quick succession, then the screen goes blank, yet you can clearly tell the black light is on. I've tried a hard reset, but Down Vol+Home+Soft Reset does nothing, just boots as described above. Anyone know if there's a different command for a hard reset on the CDMA ver.?
Well, I figured out how to hard reset it and that did the trick. Too bad I lost all my info.

Can receive calls, texts, but will not wake from sleep and no home screen.

Hello everyone. I have had my Droid Bionic since day one and I have never had an issue with it. It has been wonderful.
Until today. I am on the stock OS. I had a Live Wallpaper that showed a little Android figure that melts based on the percentage of my battery. I went into my Gallery and clicked on "Set As Wallpaper" on an image I took with my camera on the phone.
At the bottom of the phone, a small popup showed up that said "COMPLETED". When I went to the home screen, there was no wallpaper in the background. It was just black, though the icons were still there and it was responsive. I thought maybe the image was corrupt, so I went and tried another image.
This caused the phone to reboot. When it rebooted, there was a notification bar, the time, the lock screen, and a thing that said No Signal. I tried to unlock it, but the phone was unresponsive.
Then I got a text message, even though I had no signal. The notification light was blinking. I could not unlock the phone. I hit the sleep button, and it went to sleep. I tried hitting it again, and it would not wake up.
I tried pulling the battery and putting it back in, and now it won't properly boot. Right when it boots, it goes to sleep (the little shutdown animation). I texted myself from my sister's phone and the notification light blinks, the phone vibrates, and the screen turns on and shows I have a text on the notification bar. The screen and the buttons are completely unresponsive, however.
I tried calling myself from my home line and I could pick up the call just fine and end the call. I could not, however, go back to the home screen while on the call. The capacitive buttons on the bottom were completely unresponsive. When I hung up the call (by touch), it went to a completely black screen with the notification bar showing that I had some text messages and the time and my service, etc.
I have rebooted the phone five times now by removing the battery and it keeps going to this. I have never rooted the phone (I wouldn't even know how to) and I am concerned because of all of the information that I have saved on the phone.
Yes I have tried removing the SD card. Didn't help.
Any suggestions? :/
UPDATE: Now the phone doesn't even boot, it gets stuck at the Red Eye spinning logo. It vibrates twice and the notification light begins blinking, meaning it is letting me know that I have received text messages... but it isn't actually booting to the Android home screen. Really strange...
You should fxz back to stock
It will wipe your application data but not you're sdcard info or internal storage
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Hard reset using all three external buttons
Try doing a hard reset - it's one of those things they only tell you about at the Verizon store when you're stuck:
Once you have the phone on and at least responsive, press and hold BOTH volume keys, then hold the power button down for 10 seconds (it's really about 6, but 10 will do it for sure). This procedure can also be done to force a reboot when you load a gnarly application that sux and locks your phone up - without having to disassemble everything and pull the battery.
Hopefully with any luck, you're phone will do a back-flip and come up!

Black screen during boot

I bought a used Droid Turbo 64 GB and for the second time I am stuck in a situation where the screen went blank and now the device won't boot. I get to the silver/blue "Droid" splash screen where it sits for a moment or so, then the screen goes blank. After the first time I wiped and started over, it worked well for three days. Now it happened again. I tried wiping cache, did not help. I was thinking I could reflash Lollipop and would not lose data this time but can't seem to find the appropriate file to flash. Can someone point me to it, or let me know if that's not the right direction to go? As soon as I get a replacement I am sending this back but would like to try and get it up and running for the next few days.

But is it wise to fix a device you are returning?

Just trying to get it to be usable until I can get a replacement phone.
While I was researching and posting here, I shut the phone off and put it on a charger. It said it was 61%. It got to 98%, I took a chance and powered it on and it got past the splash screen and went through an optimization of 63 apps. Finished and booted. Lasted about 10 mins then went black again and I am stuck.
I'm not sure if this is what your talking about but If you press the power button when it is in sleep mode and you see the clock and notifications but the background is black. If you pull up it should unlock the phone but everything goes black. That happens to me every so often. I reset my whole phone once thinking it was broken. All you have to do is pull down rather then up and the background appears and all is well again.

Thanks for the info but this phone is locking up. We turned off that mode. The screen does black after 1 min (in display settings). In our case, there is no way to get it to come back on. And during reboot, it goes black and never finishes booting.
You're best bet is to flash the stock firmware. http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Droid Turbo&folder=Firmware
i have the same issue, did firmware flash with fastboot and the fix with the verizon software with no results
