HTC Diamond US 3G T-Mobile 3G Settings - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I am not sure if this was posted before, maybe I missed it when searching, but are there any specific settings that I need to tweak to make the Diamond US 3G version work with T-Mobile's 3G network.
Thanks in advance!

^^^2nd. Can't be done, this phone will never work on T-Mobile's 3G network.

I just confirmed with T-Mobile that in order to use 3G on their network you will need to have AWS 1700 AND 2100. This phone will definitely work with AT&T!

850/2100 3G Diamond on Rogers CA?

I haven't found any answers so I've decided to "ask the audience".
To my understanding the Rogers Canada network uses 850/1900 for it's 3G primarily 850. Is this true?
I haven't found a mention of a North American release date for the GSM Diamond. Anyone know the date? I don't expect it till around Christmas.
I'm looking at an Australian Diamond that uses the 850/2100 bands for 3G. Will the support of the 850 band be enough to function on the Rogers network or does the phone have to support both bands for 3G to function on the network?
only gsm 850 works on my diamond. i think its 1900 for 3g
I have an European Diamond which works on the rogers network but I get GSM/EDGE but to my horror no 3G
Looking around only on a few sites can I find any mention of what works and what doesn't the closest information I could find is from this link:

NextG phones are 850/2100 capable, so you'll be right on most 3G networks...

and they go back and forth so I'm not sure what to believe and I don't think I want to buy another Diamond just to find it won't work either.
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/Jama/585 has some interesting comments as well but I'm not sure what to believe.
Can anyone confirm or deny and of this?
The question is will a Australian phone with the 850/2100 3G radio function on the Roger network?

I have the Australian version (850/2100 MHz) and it supports the Telstra 3G Network. Can't see why it wouldn't work on other 850/2100 MHz 3G network.
To my understanding the Canadian Rogers network is a 850/1900 network.
Does the phone need to support both bands or will one suffice?
Rogers Diamond
I had an EU/Asia Diam and I never manage to get 3G connection. Sold the phone and bought a Rogers branded diam and by default I see 3G connection all the time on the top network status. But now I'm thinking of going back to an EU/Asia version unless I can flash my Rogers branded diam with a better ROM.

Tmobile USA 3G

Has anyone been able to connect to Tmobile's USA 3G network in Dallas TX? Anywhere else in the US? Any settings need to be changed?
Search is good:

Search???? But it is some much better for the community to ask the question before searching.
Please close thread.
Before you start flaming, I suggest you read the question. Since you can search, I assume you can read...
The original question was about this service in Dallas TX, which according to multiple sources, the service was just launched on August 27.
Most posts available on Tmobile's 3G state the service is on the 1700 MHz (which the kaiser is not capable). However there are a few people that have stated it might also be in the 2100MHz band.
It is also possible that the Kaise is capable to hook to the 1700MHz band but not enabled by the radio rom. Take the Diamond for example, it was not supposed to support the 850MHz band...
Since Dallas service just started, it is possible 2100MHz is available.
Has anyone been able to prove Tmobile's 3G service is up an running IN DALLAS?
I stand corrected, kind sir. I jumped to a conclusion and was ignorant of the facts related to your specific part of the world. I am sorry.
Did you call TMobile customer service and ask the question? So none of the search results gave you any help. I guess wait and see if you get a reply. Good luck.

I just got 3G here in little old York, Pa. I guess I don't understand your question?
I think what he wants to know if 3g data will work with an at&T branded tilt on tmobile U.S. and if so I would like to know how it compares to the edge network they were using
i think T-Mobile uses 1700/2100 and one band is for uplink and the other is for downlink.
unlike AT&T or Rogers who can use 850 and 1900 independantly for uplink or downlink.
first of all, tmobile sim cards are not 3G compatbile, therefore even the correct settings probably wont pick up any 3G signal...keep in mind that tmobile never updated simcards since its voicestream transition...i remember when AT&T went 3G, they had to issue 3G enabled sim cards....
And my Tilt has a 3G SIM but it's an ATT SIM.
you cant get on tmobiles network with an att sim

Tilt 3G on Tmobile network?

since the tilt is 3g, if i unlock it and use it on Tmobile does it still pick up tmobiles 3g or is it different? thanks alot
It won't grab T-Mo's 3G. The Tilt can find "standard" 3G, in the 1900 band, but T-Mo's runs on the 1700 band. There's a hardware difference as well dealing with the radio.
Basically, you'd be stuck on EDGE, like the rest of us Tilt users are.
ya i thought they were different thanks alot for the fast reply

AT&T 3G vs T-Mobile 3G

Trying to figure this out, Is the hardware basically the same. I read alot about UMTS and WCDMA, I am familiar with GSM vs CDMA, but I am not sure if this could work or not.
Basically I am wondering if a Google G1 on AT&T can run at 3G speeds. No need to tell you all the phone specs, I am sure your all aware.
AT&T
GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, UMTS 850/1900/2100MHz
TMOBILE
GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, HSPDA/WCDMA:1700/2100 MHz
Anyways from my HTC phones with AT&T I usually use 1900&2100 MHz
Is it possible to get this thing running on AT&T 2100, I figure if I was always roaming it would have to barrow some part of the TMO network, or does roaming only default to GSM 2G.
Another thing I think of is maybe updating my simcard with cingular so I can get a bigger network list or am I just dreaming about the whole Idea. It really seems like a software problem. Does that radio chip really make that much of a difference.
Again, is this not just a radio-build/sim config???
Thanks for any input....

It is not possible because the G1's HARDWARE does not support AT&T 3G. Only T-Mobile.
Im pretty sure you could use the rodgers g1 though for 3g on att
Yes the Rogers G1 has the same frequency as AT&T

[Q] ATT Nexus one on Tmobile

Hi everyone i tried searching but didn't come up with anything. I'm considering purchasing an unlocked nexus one on amazon and I'm not sure if its a tmobile or att version I have tmobile as my provider if i were to get an att version would i still get 3g access? I know if it was the opposite i there would be no access for 3g on att.
Thanks
I believe t-mobile's 3g is 2100mhz, which means the atnt one should work on the network.
I'd get a second opinion though, I'm more knowledgeable on Australian networks than US ones.
Ok thank you for the input, if anyone could confirm this that would b great.
The devices are completely independent of one another in regards to 3G. Cross network compatability only extends to Edge services.
Someone jump in and correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that T-Mobile 3G requires both the 1900 and 2100 frequencies to work (up & down link).
Rod3 is correct the at&t version will not work on t-mo and the t-mo version will not work on at&t, in respect to the 3G that is you will still get edge either way.
Although as far as the both 1900MHz and 2100MHz I'm not sure about that but it's possible, anyone care to add some info.
EDIT: Just Googled it and it's 1900MHz for 2G and 1700MHz/2100MHz for 3G encase anyone is interested.
Dude, thanks for the correction. I knew there were 2 frequencies for 3G and I just picked one off the top of my head. Now that I think about it, yeah 850 and 1900 were for 2G.
