[REQ] Program for editing SIM contacts on HTC Diamond - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Does any1 has some link or something.. I had SonyEricsson before and all the SIM contacts are stored in some strange format Surname;Name etc... I would like to fix this.. but I have no time to do that manually on my mobile device
Thanks!

I had same issue, i've actaully just hid the sim contacts, and added numbers to my msn list of contacts and made the odd windows contact (sync'd via outlook too)
But it is really really strange how they are viewed.

umm... Programs -> Sim Manager?
ahh.. sorry didn't read post fully...

Copying my contacts from my other phone..

I've over 300 contacts in my other phone SE P990i, I'm trying to copy them to the X1, is there anyway that i can copy them without using the Outlook? i tried to back-up them and then send the back-up file to the X1 but it always fail,, i tried sending the same file from my P990i and from my laptop,, same result..
Use Bluetooth?
I would try bluetooth a bit laborious but far quicker than manually enterring all your contacts again.
Cant you just save them in your SIM card and then transfer them to your xperia ?

You just can save a name and a phone number on a SIM card, I'm sure he wants adresses, EMail, birthdays and so on copied too.
I copied everything with the storage card because both phones use microsd.
Bluetooth should be possible too.
i did that,, but i dnt see any of my SIM contacts in my X1,, do i have to do sumthing in the sittings to show contacts from the SIM ?

Just open the CONTACTS and then choose MENU and SIM MANAGER. Then you can see everything that lies on the SIM-card

Just sync your P990 with Microsoft Outlook and the sync Outlook with your Xperia.
And, please, leave my private messages for private messages only
I had the same issue. Bought my new X1 a few days ago. Had loads of contacts on my N95 Symbian phone. Bluetooth was laborious and I didn't have access to Outlook.
In the end, I used Google Sync. Worked fantastic.

it does not support Sony P990i how to backup contact from that to x1 using google sync :S or any other software ....
If both phones use Windows Mobile, you can use PIM Backup to backup and the restore your contacts. PIM Backup will also restore your ring tone settings for each contact (not the tone itself). Plus a few other things.

Need to save contacts without using outlook

Hell everyone,
I tried using search to find a solution for this but I havn't been able to. I am currantly about to install a custom ROM. I have downloaded Hardspl and isntalled it on the phone. But after watching the who to install a custom ROM i found out that all my contacts and sms will be deleted. I tried to save through sync but i don't have outlook on my computer and therefore cant save them that way. I was wondering how do I save my contacts and sms without using outlook. I have installed NS Contacts Backup v1.2 but I can't find the file assosiated with contacts and sms'. IS there another way I can back up my contacts and sms before installing the custom ROM??
Thanks
I think that you will find what you search here
I second PIMBU
MS MyPhone online backup.
http://sn1-p2.myphone.microsoft.com/mkweb/Start.po
or spb backup...http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pocketpc-software/backup/
hmm.. I have similar problem....I need to transfer contacts from my old P910i(yes, Symbian device) to my X1.
Anyone knows how?
I cant even copy contacts to SIM card since it can be copied only one-by-one, and I have really A LOT of contacts, so it would take a great deal of time.
Any suggestion ??

1. MyPhone through the internet
2. Best solution: use free PIMBackup by FdcSoft.
Great free app making backup of data to your storage card, restorable any time.
Backups contacts, sms, mail, calendar, tasks etc.......

Symbian phones should allow for select all > copy from Phone to SIM.
I should know, I shifted from a 5700XM (S60) to Xperia (excluding the retarded stopgap LG Arena in the middle.)

Oh please. How can you store 1000 contacts to SIM?
With multiple data like email, many numbers, address?
The only way from P910 to X1 is Outlook,
that's what I did from P1 to X1.
You can sync contacts, calendar, notes, tasks.
Beware: better sort all the contacts the way they're present in Outlook/WM phones or you'll loose some data,
like multiple MOBILE numbers: WM accepts just one mobile, on UIQ you could add as many as you want....

How was I to know you had so many contacts? I have 122 each with address, email, mobile, house number, and everything transferred fine.
If you want to save yourself trouble, get an Nokia E75.

How can i tell where my contacts are saved?

How can i tell where my contacts are saved?
When i first got my phone I synced my phone with my outlook contact on my pc. Now when i want to add a contact using my phone it's asking me if i want to save the contact to either my phone or my sim card. I would like to keep things consistent and save it in the same place as the rest of my contacts. So does anyone know how to find out where my current contacts are saved?
Thanks.

Good questions, I don't have the answer but I'd like to know. I have a similar thread that no one has answered yet.
BTW, when I go to add a new contact I don't get your options!
My choices are:
1. Phone
2. Google mail
That is very strange. I'd like to get SIM card as an option.
If you want to know where your contacts are saved then go to your contacts, click the settings button, go to display options and from there you will be able to select what contacts to view, sim, phone and google. Click on one to view and that way you will know where they are all saved.
No idea why you cant have sim contacts mark, maybe your sim is full??

First of all, if you have your phone set up as I do,
Settings/Wireless Networks/Flight mode, 99% of the time, then you won't see SIM card as an option when you go into Contacts/Settings/Display.
This is one of many deficiencies of the SGS. I hope they change this in the next upgrade.

See above.
Furthermore, having just experimented with the SIM card setting now, it is quite 'limited'. It will only save the name, tel. number and e-mail address of your contacts, nothing else. You lose pics, home addresses, groups, and any other fields that you added etc.
But back to my original question.
How can you find the folder/files that the contacts are stored in on your phone?
Also, if you export your phone contacts to your SD card and then delete your phone contacts, will importing the contacts from your SD card bring EVERYTHING back faithfully? No lost pics, home addresses, groups etc.?
Has anyone here tried this?
TIA

[Q] Lost all contacts!

When my USIM contacts were not recognised by Whatsapp on my O2x, I converted them all to MS Exchange contacts. Today I froze the stock email app to replace it with a different one. After I did this, all my contacts vanished! I lost all phone numbers stored on my phone. Unfreezing the mail app has not brought them back. What can I do? This is a disaster!
Sorry if this is the wrong forum.
don't have an answer for you but I always sync my contacts with my gmail just in case something like that happens

Unfortunately I didn't sync my contacts with anything..
I don't understand, surely freezing an app shouldn't delete any data? I'm hoping the contacts are still there some how and can be recovered.. but how?
EDIT:
Nevermind, found a solution. I remembered that, when I first put my SIM card into the O2x, a lot of contacts were there even though I deleted them in the past on my previous phone. So I figured the reverse might be true.. and yes, when I put my SIM card in my old phone, I was able to see my contacts again. Apparently when USIM contacts are deleted they are not actually removed from the phone, although for some reason the phone that deleted them does refuse to read them. Now I just have to manually enter each contact on my O2x and make a back-up.

Not sure why you are doing this, why don't you sync you contacts from the HTC to your google account, then they will automatically sync to your Sony phone if you are using the same google account

I never did that and now I can't because my HTC is broken, but I did a backup of my contacts so I don't understand why I can't backup the contacts to my Z1. This is a problem on my phone anyway, why?

I have never been able to import a vcard sucessfully, have you tried searching the net, there are some youtube vids and some discussions on xda?
The easiest way is probably going to be to import the contacts to your computer, then use PC companion to sync them to the phone. Can I suggest in future that you store the contacts in the google account for your phone, that way whatever android phone you get in the future the contacts will be synced automatically after you attach the account.

Very easy, I click on Phone, Contacts, Menu at the right bottom, I click on Import Contact, I got: Memory Full.
On Sony Web site they saying to select Back up Contacts from vCard, where it is on Z1?

I can't to my computer because my HTC don't working. Also I was never worry to store my contacts in google account because we have the option to backup contacts in Android, the problem is that option is not working, why?
Now I am forced to store the contacts in other ways but how I will back up more than 200 numbers from my vCard Today?
Someone know how extract the contacts from vCard? That will be enough.

Never solved the problem. Like never solved the problem installing (massage:no sufficient memory on phone) updates even if I have space on my internal memory.
I always used vCard because I never liked to store my contacts on a server, kind of paranoia privacy!
..but I give up so now I do not do anything than just log into my google account (play store) and they show up.
I think you have to do the same, log into your account and import contacts.

Do anybody knows how to solve this problem?
Thank you.
