To test sim unlock use this command with ATCommander:

Results
@SIMLOCK= 00 ---> means phone is unlocked
@SIMLOCK= 01 ---> means phone is locked

I know that !
In the link I posted there's a AT command to test for "security unlock".
I can't however remeber how to check if the CID lock is on or not, I suppose it depends on the SPL, Hard SPL's wont have a CID check, OEM ones will.

Be aware of your SPL version. It will probably need to be updated. Search for JockeySPL for the expert advice. I think all 6.1 ROMs need to be version 3.xx SPL. Anyway, search it out to avoid issues. Sounds like you are on your way to ROM goodness.

Flash and SPL from here if you are using WM6.1.

Hello,
Few days ago i bought HTC At&t Tilt/8925 in USA. Now i'm at home in europe and need to unLock it.
Also find in Ebay lots, where people who have access to some databases sell "UNLOCK Code For *At&t/Cingular* Tilt/8925", but they need IMEI code of phone at first.
So my question is how to find IMEI phone on locked phone?
As i know i must type "*#06#", but how can i do it, if the only sreen that i can view is
Network is locked, please input unlock code.
To make an emergency call, type the emeregency number and tap emergency
And field under that, where i must type unlock code?
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
So where i must type "*#06#"? in the that field and click ok? I'm afraid, that phone can understand that it's unlock code (and as i know i cann't type more than 5 wrong codes )
Any advice will be appreciated
remove the battery and it should be listed on the phone.
Or type *#06# in your phone dailer .

thx
there are 3 codes:
P/n
IMEI
S/N
Waw .. thanks ... so it's the right IMEI code?
Btw, need you advice , does unclocking phone with just codes (as on ebay) work really?
A check this guys have nice rating, but as you know sometimes, just ratings don't mean anything.
Once again, thank you ChumleyEX !
Normally you are able to get a code from at&t to unlock it so I would pay for anything. Also I think you can use a method from this site to unlock.
I'm not sure if you're able to call at&t, but if you can, just call them and tell them you are traveling over seas and you need to unlock it.

Note for WM6.1 users
================
Do not try this on 6.1! You will need to downgrade to 6.0
REMOVE YOUR SIM CARD!
That will stop the "Network Lock" Message from displaying.
Then you can get your IMEI from the Device Information Page or actually get into Windows Mobile and be able to use the Unlocker found here in the forums.

Exactly.

First, thanks to Bin4ry and NielDK for initial fix. This is the sequel if their work in another thread.
The fix will be considered complete when it'll be able to revive all phones: non-booting and radio-bricked, and enables fastboot on simlocked phones!
===
I think that SIM-lock is not signed anymore after bootloader unlock. If it was, then phone wouldn't boot even after flashing simlock.ta, because SE phones with bad/unsigned/damaged SIM-lock don't boot.
simlock.ta converted to ASCII:

TA Misc, 8FD on SIM-locked phone:
ta = 000008FD 00
TA Misc, FreeXperia Team's fix:
000008FD 00 00
That's strange, on factory-fastboot-capable phones 8FD is same though one has got fastboot, and other not, and bricked fb capable and SIM-locked has got the same 8FD.
Looks like there is something in 8FD, but fastboot capability is somewhere else in TA Misc (partition 02).
FYI, TA Misc is where we should look for. 7DA is simlock unit and it might be worth investigating.

will this also mean you can relock your bootloader?
Why would you want to do that?
If my initial theory works, then it's possible but only if you made TA backup before unlocking bootloader.
No idea why any one would not want custom roms, with a easy way of loading them on with a new boot-loader,
guessing in case it has to go back for some kind of repair that will require the warranty to be back to 100%, who knows
All we can do now is wait till Omnius will support TA backup/restore.

as you see in step two you will need to unlock your bootloader after the first three backups. As for why i want to be able to lock the bootloader its just in case ill ever need the drm stuff or things like that. I just think its nice to have the possibility if ill ever need it. BTW when you ask for sim free do you mean a phone that doesent have actual simcard in it? Cause i have a arc bought on a contract, and it shows up in fastboot but it does use a sim card

One word: Warranty.
Warranty will be valid as long as you flash original Arc firmware before sending it to the repair.
If you're not willing to unlock it and nothing's gonna change your mind, say so. But, on the other side, this way you can test if bootloader can be relocked or not in TA - if it enables fastboot on locked devices, I'm sure this can relock bootloader too
Hi,
Sim-free Arc with locked bootloader here. Don't have the time to try atm, however, but I will see if I find some free moment the next days.
Phone can be set back into factory default by using the "repair" function in SE PC Companion?
Kind regards,

If you plan to have any custom ROMs you'll have to unlock bootloader anyways... and don't worry about the time, Omnius doesn't support TA backup/write yet...
And at the same time we can check if restoring original TA will relock bootloader (that's the root of my need for TA backups).
And unlocked bootloader won't void warranty by itself - SE clearly states that additional repair charges may occur due to modified phone's firmware, not unlocked bootloader.

edit: don't want to be another smartass as some on this forum, sorry.. if I read it correctly it is code to unlock phone that is SIM LOCKED to a network and hard reset will not help in this case.
Yeah well maybe it's that one, it isn't very clear though.
Unlock phone
The sony unlock bootloader pages refer to the procedure of unlocking the phone, but they go on to say something along the lines of- if you don't get the code right you are permanently locked. Was that what you were attempting?
Same problem here
I want to reset the counter too but I don't know how. I have the code to unlocke my phone to ant network but I have no more attemps.. Is there any solution to that problem?
Afaik there exists an unblock code as well for such cases, you need to ask the provider of the unlock code for that second code and a tutorial how to enter it. However, most unlock code providers state in their howtos that most devices have 10 attempts to enter the sim unlock code before you get blocked and you should only use up to five, and make a video proof that the code does not work, then they will either provide the unblock code, help you with the procedure or refund your money if they can not help.

Im pretty sure if you recharge 80 dollars or more it can be unlocked early for free. Do what my mates and i have always done; find a good friend who has been a loyal Optus customer (or anyone who has recharged over 80 bucks) and give them the phone and they can ring up and get it unlocked hehe =D
You don't even need to ring up, you can use the online unlock page. You just need the number of someone who is with Optus or one of their MVNO's
