Check it please to make sure I buy the right one...
Any suggestion for additional software to use..

Yes, the HTC Touch Diamond you are looking at uses SIM card, and T- Mobile is what I used, too. The model shown seems like an EU model (pics too small to tell), and the difference between EU and US model is summarized at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432532. If you live in the US and you plan to use 3G data connection in the US, then you need to consider the US model, with AT&T however (NOT T-Mobile).
I strongly suggest you call and make sure the ROM has been upgraded to the newest (1.93) already. If not, you want to make sure it's HTC Touch Diamond P-3700 (UK origion) so that you can upgrade to the newest ROM by yourself if chosen to do later.

Be carefol, since both the US and the EU diamonds are incompatible with the T-Mobile US network. There is a long discusson about this in the forum (search it).

HTC Diamond World or US? Need Help ASAP!

Right now I have a choice between original HTC Diamond or the US version but I am not sure which one to pick. Can anyone please shed some light on this? Thank you in advance!
it would help if you were to mention where you live (US vs. Europe) and travel to, and other things factoring into your decision. if you're in the US (e.g., live here) go with the US version because it has the correct 3G radio; high-speed internet access on your phone AND 850 band which provides better signal..
Sorry, I live in US and on T-Mobile network.
Main difference between the EU and US models lies in the 3G/HSDPA data connections. While serious doubts/uncertainties on the use of EU model for 3G on T-Mobile (only 26 cities in the US so far) have been raised (details can be found in this thread), the US model will allow you to use the 3G/HSDPA data connection should you decide to switch to AT&T in the future. Second, the EU model has a front camera for video conferencing, but I was told neither T-Mobile nor AT&T would make this option available to their phone customers at this time. There are software available through Wifi for video conferencing as I learned from this thread, and you would need the EU model to do it if it works (I haven't tried). Google Maps, third, is not installed in the EU model, but there is a CAB file to be downloaded from this thread or the google website. Price wise, at last, the US model is a little cheaper than the EU model by $10-$20 USD (may due to the lack of the front camera?). There have been reports in this thread about yellow/green/wash-out background in the US model. This may be something you want to check closely if you want to consider the US model.
I read some other thread here which points out that the Euro version has the yellow spots and yellow tint problem, not the US version.

good clarification on the 3G network; T-Mobile uses, I believe, the 1700 3G band in the US and att uses the 850/1900 3G band. also, if you weren't aware, the US version of the Diamond is available at Best Buy Mobile, typically located in Best Buy stoes.

Then probably yellow tints/stripes are found for both models:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426319&page=10, which is for the US 3G Diamond.. sigh
@cortez.i: Thank you for confirming the complicated 3G issues
The US version is also more easily returned and exchanged by just going into a Best Buy and it will be better covered under the warranty from HTC. HTC is not pleased that companies like Expansys sell Euro HTC phones to customers in the US and says it won't fully cover those phones. You can't use either model on 3G on T-Mobile USA, so for you the main difference would be the warranty.

T-mobile TP2 worldwide use

dear Forum
I am living in Switzerland, and i got from a US friend his "old" TP2 because he bought the new i-phone...
now i am here in Europe and can't use it because it only accepts T-Mobile SIM cards (which we don't have in Switzerland).
Moreover i am travelling quite often because of my profession and i'm usually buying local SIM's....
Does anyone know if there is a ROM which unlocks this device?
would be great if this also contains TomTom or CoPilot navigation as i own those licences arelady frommy previous device.
As I know there are two versions of TP2:
- the "normal" HTC
- the T-mobile version which got brownish color and lacks a front cam....
my question is specifically about the brownish T-mobile version.
thanks for your help

There is no ROM that will unlock your phone for you. You have to either call T-Mobile and get them to unlock the phone for you or ask your friend to call T-Mobile for the unlock code, OR you can pay to have it unlocked by providing the IMEI number to someone who knows how to unlock it. Also, ROMs generally do not come cooked with TomTom or CoPilot, so you'd have to install those separately. I'm sure if you looked around you could find the cab files to install them.
that's interesting... my old diamond came with simlock from a local carrier... after flashing it with an open ROM, the simlock was gone...
that's why I am asking if there is simlock-free ROM for this specific type of TP2...
for the "normal" one i saw plenty ROM's but because of the differences i am sceptic if they would work.
thx for ur hints
You don't need a ROM, you need to SIM-unlock your device. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555339

Unlocking a US T-Mobile HD7?

Hey All,
I'm very interested in getting an HTC HD7 but because I live in South Africa it's going to be a bit of a mission.
At the moment, the T-Mobile version from Amazon.com is the cheapest and due to the fact that I have some family in the States, I will be able to get it over here easily.
Now, I would like to know if the T-Mobile HD7's will be locked (I assume they will be) and if so, if it will be possible to unlock them? I would assume it will be possible but wouldn't want to buy the device only to find out that it doesn't work .
Second of all, is the T-Mobile hardware any different to the UK version? Does T-Mobile use some special frequencies for 3G that would make it incompatable with the South Africa Cellular Providers?
Thanks for any and all assistance,
Jonno
at&t does not have an HD7. In The USA, only T-Mobile has the HD7.
For specs on the device, you should take a look at the official page:
http://www.htc.com/www/product/hd7/specification.html
Haha, whoops - thanks for that, updated the post.
It appears that the HD7 is Quad Band and so should work for all countries (unless T-Mobile gets some other hardware version, which seems unlikely).
hey. Jonno. I pm'd u.Give me a call if you get a chance.Thanx
Nizaamh
Does this mean that I can use a UK hd7 on t-mobile 3g network? What about ATT 3g?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Can I unlock the T-Mobile HD7 ?!
I Would to known also it can work in the international 2100MHz network

[Q] Intl version. Will it work on all networks? + more silly questions

Hey !
I am thinking of buying HTC One when it is on sale here (India). I am not sure that HTC is gonna roll-out the LTE enabled version of the One or just the normal 3G one. I am mostly moving to the US for grad studies and I was thinking about buying the LTE enabled version or the normal (I'll call it that) version when I do. Should I buy the phone from India itself or from US? I don't think they would ask for residential proof or something to buy a sim-free unlocked phone.
I am kinda confused about the whole LTE thing as I feel it is..well a luxury item i guess?
And the main question, if I buy the phone from here........I think it would work only on limited GSM networks, right ?

[Q] How to check which verison of HTC One

I live in the UK and am about to buy an HTC One online, but I want to be sure when it arrives that the guy hasn't got some cheaper US handsets or something and is selling them here, hence the phone would be running on the wrong LTE bands. Is there a way to verify exactly which version of the handset I have once it arrives? I'm assuming, as I'm in the UK, I want the GSM one, m7ul....? But what about the other international versions? Thanks
