VMWARE Fusion is what i used. Im not sure, but you may be able to use Crossover and run the app .
i'd stay away from using a crossover app while attempting to flash and such. What if it gives up the USB connection half way through?
The top two softwares are Vmware's Fusion or Parallels.. I'm using xp installed through fusion and haven't had a single problem flashing/unlocking/spl and installing apps and such.

While I would agree with you there, I would stick to VMware on this one over parallels. Ive tried flashing using XP as well as vista under parallels and for some reason the USB drops out 3/4 way into it during a full rom/radio load.
Granted this hasnt happened every time, but id say it happened to me on my macbook pro at least 3 out of 10 attempts. I since then decided the safest route is to use the MicroSD card to flash things. Once you have the Hard-spl in place, its faster, easier, and much MUCH less risky. I find myself flashing at least 2-3 times a week this way ( also you dont need to have a 50% battery minimum as far as I can tell. I just flashed one with 20% bater and all was fine )
i haven't used parallels since the beta of fusion was released.. but now that you do mention USB dropping connection, i kinda remember that happening a couple times as well... specially with my wizard.
A little off topic but my only problem with fusion is that i've allocated it to use 10GB and its folder is using over 30GB!! this is the second time its happened to me and i end up completely wiping fusion off and reinstalling it along with XP... oh well the gurus at the vmware forum are helping me with that issue.
Unlock with SIM
OK, but if I am reading the FAQ's correctly, the sim unlock can't be done with a microSD, it has to be done over USB (or do I misunderstand).
Thanks
You cant sim unlock via MicroSD. This is because you must first at least flash a HardSPL
if you own no windows systems, I believe the only alternative is via a linux live-cd such as Knoppix/kubuntu/Mandriva. This gets a tad bit more technical in terms of setting the phone to communicate via USB, however you will be able to run tty and flash the hard way.
Either that or Borrow a friends computer to do the initial flash!

I'm using Fusion and can't properly flash. When I connect my Wizard (wrong forum, I know, but it's relevant) while the OS is loaded, Fusion/XP connect just fine and I can use ActiveSync. However, no matter which flash method I use, as soon as the unit goes into boot loader mode, Windows can no longer communicate with it. I get the following error:
"USB Device not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."
At that point, whatever flashing utility I use loses the connection and the update fails. If I boot the same partition using BootCamp, it all works fine.

Did you uncheck "Allow USB connection" Under the activesync settings?
You must free up the USB port in order for Kaiser RUU to install.
Also, have you installed a HARD-SPL Yet?

Of course this all predicates on that fact that you do have an Intel Mac and you do have it partitioned to run Windows and of course you do have a registered copy of XP or Vista.
It would be cheaper to buy an unlocked phone than to invest in all this.
You cannot flash or unlock natively with a Mac, I have several. I used Parallels with XP and flashed. The USB connection dropped halfway thru and bricked my phone. After rescuing my phone. That was the last straw for Parallels. It is crap.
I now use Bootcamp and XP and flash all the time without any problems.
Since I work mostly on the Mac side. Missingsync has been great for everyday syncing and file transfers.

Hey everyone, i just was getting ready to update to the new core rom (from xplore 1.1) and i plugged in my Tmobile mda into my pc that is running xp, and it is not connecting. When i plug it in it like doesnt even try to find it. And when it does try to find it, it just says it can't establish connection with your item.
I was using xplore and this is the first time i had this problem ever. Ive flashed 4 or 5 times and this has never happened, and thats why im posting it in the wm6 forum.
Does anyone have any ideas? HAs this happened to anyone else?
Now i am back on the newest tmobile update, and it is still doing it. Also i installed the newest version of active sync. Still no go. Also i used shell tools to put xplore on my phone, could that have left out some active sync's files? (probably not, last time i put nottosmarts rom on here everything worked perfect.
ipl 2.26
spl 2.26
gsm 02.25.11
os 2.26.10.2
love you

If you can't connect, how did you flashed the latest TMobile ? I am not making fun, I really want to help.
i threw it in bootloader mode. It said usb in the bottom right hand corner. It's just that activve sync is not connecting with it. i wouldnt even care, but i think you need an active connection to active sync when you flash with shell tools, which is what i do.
update: i just succesfully sync'd to my laptop running windows vista.
anichillus, do you know if shell tools will work with the new way to flash with vista?
thank you so much for reponding, i really appreciate it...a lot lol
the only reason im doing this is to get to your rom!

I really really don't know that sorry ... I am using WinXP and not shelltool.
Also, why are you using Shell Tool ? Dont't you have G3 ?
Unlock it and easy as pie. I remember papamopps saying that it is possible to flash in vista ...but i don't remember anything about shell tool ...
BTW, you have ZoneAlarm ..or similar installed to the PC where you say that it doesn't connect ? Try and disable firewall ... antivirus ..stuff like that.
well i just don't want to void my warranty, but ill definitly try turning off all the firewalls tommorow when i get a chance, i think im just going to give it a go with shell tools right now and hope for the best
Thank you so much and if you ever need anything i would love to help you in return.
you're the best!
i have the same problem..active sync doesn´t find my wizard..but it´s charging normally, but active sync doesn´t recognize it or i don´t know..what should i do?? i didn´t do any change on my pc..and before it works good..
If you're using Microsoft's OneCare then you may have to enable the Allow ActiveSync to get it to work.
Start OneCare then click the "Change OneCare settings" link on the left
Click the Firewall tab
Click the Firewall connection tool button
Place a check in the ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center" checkbox
Click Okay back to the main page
Hope this helps, but like Anichillus said, it could be any other firewall application blocking it...
yes! all i had to do was turn of norton for a bit and it instantly recognized my device. I was just so confused because this has never happened before and thats why i haven't thought of such an easy explanation. Thank you both for giving me your clear thoughts! lol
Another resolution idea
I had the same issue - I would plug the device in through USB into Vista Ultimate with no results other than the bing bong noise it makes on connection. Checking the device list showed the network pieces being added, but not the actual Wizard itself in the Mobile Devices section. I could not sync, it would not pair, etc, etc.
Resolution (on the Wizard):
1) Settings->Connections->USB to PC
2) Turn off "Enable advanced network functionality"
This of course will not be the resolution for everyone, but in case someone else sees this behavior, here is a list of the symptoms I saw:
1) Plugging Wizard in via USB causes Bing Bong noise
2) wmdc shows no connection
3) device manager shows no Mobile Devices section when connected
4) device manager network adapters may show mobile device services when plugged in
5) If connected in bootloader mode the device manager will show the mobile device
6) You can set up a bluetooth connection (if available on the PC) and sync properly with it
Cheers,
Shoogi
Shoogi, what an awesome first post! Worked perfect for me! Keep it up, great post and lots of help!
i have a problem that when I plug my device active sync connect it and charging starts but after a minute or so active sync disconnected and charging also stoped.
I have installed everything official > rom,radio,ipl/spl etc.
One Care made activesync almost unusable for me. I also had to reflash from THT's rom because I couldn't connect at all unless I hard reset. Makes no sense cause my husband can sync and he had the identical same rom.
I've been using my AT&T Tilt for nearly a month without any problems, but yesterday for reasons I cannot determine, my phone suddenly stopped being recognized by any version of Windows XP or Windows Vista. I tired Windows XP SP2 in a virtual machine on my Mac, I tried it on my wife's Windows Vista machine, and I tried it on my children's Windows Vista machine and I received the same error each and every time.
No matter what machine I plugged it into, I would immediately get a "USB Device Not Recognized" error and neither ActiveSync on Windows XP nor WMDC on Windows Vista would initiate a sync.
I've hard reset my phone multiple times, I've uninstalled and reinstalled both ActiveSync and WMDC, I've even flashed to a different OS on my phone (using my MicroSD card) and nothing has worked.
I'm beginning to wonder if maybe the USB connection on the phone may have failed. I've been contemplating sending it back to AT&T since I had a malfunctioning pixel in the middle of the screen, but with the recent problems I'm starting to lean more towards returning it and less towards living with the pixel issue.
Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing the USB problem?
Just a quick update, when I arrived at work today, I attempted to sync with my work computer (Windows Vista Business) and I had no trouble at all. I'm going to take home the cable that I have here (which came with the BlackBerry I use for work) and see if that makes any difference with my home computers.
wow
I can confirm this as well. I have the Tilt and I used a blackberry cable from my job and it synced up flawlessly. before i was getting that usb not recognized as well.
I'm having the exact same problem now.. it worked fine for 4 months and now.. it just says usb not recognized. Please post the results if your blackberry cable. thanks
I just tried a brand new usb cable and it still didn't work for me
I have the same problem but i've got a solution for this and it's very simple.
For someother reason ActiveSync will boot on the background of your device even when you close it, it will boot up within 10 min or less.
This is the thing you need to do:
Before you plugin your usb cable to sync......
Run taskmanager and close activesync. When you are sure that this application is not running then plugin your USB cable.
It worked for me!

I had this exact same problem happen to me at the end of November - I was using WMDC 6.1 for months then all of a sudden I could not connect (same error message you described). I went back and looked through the MS Windows updates and identified a NVIDEA driver update had caused my problem. Used system restore to roll it back and then everything worked fine.

Dwimmerlaik, did you have any luck fixing the problem?
Solved my USB Connection issue in Vista
After trying everything I could find on the net to solve my inability for Vista to stay connected with my HTC Kaiser (ATT TILT), I found the problem exists with the MicroSD card. No matter what, Vista would connect then disconnect my phone after a few seconds. After weeks of searching I finally just decided to take out my 2Gb MicroSD card.....and now Vista maintain connections and I am finally able to sync via WMDC.
Spread the Word!!!! Take out the MicroSD.

-Try to use the USBs at the back of your PC(not on the front of the case).
-Try to buy another cable(That SHOULD BE an USB2.0 HighSpeed certified shielded cable. That costs something about $6 ).

Didn't work for me either
I've tried doing that multiple times..
Go to phone, menu, options, time zones tab, uncheck the Auto change time zone & clock.
This is a known bug in the firmware that causes A/S to automatically start & then sometimes it tries to start a second sessions of A/S when you plug in to your PC. Give it a try, have you ever noticed that A/S is running in task manager even though you're not connected or just reset? Just one thought.

running duttys wm6.1 rom from april. all was working well, decided to sync my phone the other day and my computer didnt recognize it. nothing popped up or anything. was like i never plugged it in. it still charges though. also have some keyboard problems and was going to see if att/htc would replace my phone but i'm pretty confident they dont want anything to do with me since i have dutty's rom on there. was going to put the official att rom back on but this no usb thing kind of kills that idea. any ideas???

not sure if it changes anything but i'm using x64 vista. dual boot x64 xp pro as well. tried it in both OS's and still nothing. tried the changing name in registry on phone and removing any partnerships on the pc. phone still charges fine but pc still doesn't recognize it's there. at this point i'm at a loss....
I occasionally get syncing issues with my Kaiser on Vista. Not sure what causes it - sometimes think it might by Orb running. Anyway my easiest fix has been to system restore to a point when it was working.
Another thing I have done is test on another OS. Looks like you have only tried it running on Vista so see if you can connect to an XP machine with ActiveSync on - you obviously can cancel the sync when the box pops up but least you can see that the process is still working and then if it does connect you can flash the old rom back on.
i'm dual booting on my computer and attempted to use activesync in xp and still no success. computer doesnt as much as flench when i plug in the phone. part of the connector works though b/c the "charging" light comes on so i dont know what's going on. it possible that usb connector on the phone is bad or you think its a pc issue?
My usb port failed, you can flash the stock ROM by SD card. att gave me no problem with warranty, but no word on whether or not a changed SPL will be charged the 450.
ive read some about flashing rom by sd card but no one really seems to "recommend" it. is it a pretty fail safe procedure like via usb or "not so much" ??
Make Sure You Flash Back Before Sending It In For Warranty.
yeah i figured as much. they get upset about changed spl or does anyone know if they check it? any pointers on flashing oem rom from sd card or should i just go read in the rom section? thanks !
Hi All,
I have a strange problem with my Tilt. Whenever I connect my Tilt to my PC using USB cable, it gets disconnected regularly. I have to unplug and replug the USB cable to get the ActiveSync working.
I am using windows 6.1 ATT official ROM. I tried multiple cables and multiple PCs and same issue is there.
Does anyone having any clue or similar problem and solution for this.
Thanks in advance

Check the pings in the mini usb port to make sure they aren't bent.
It's possible that you have a program causing it, use a task manager to turn them off if you can.
I already checks all the strips(pings) in the mini usb....and mini usb cable also....
How do I identify if some program is causing it?
I have the following program running on my tilt
MobileShell.exe
device.exe
filesys.exe
voicecmd.exe
gwes.exe
cprog.exe
s2u2.exe
shell32.exe
services.exe
quickGPS.exe
repllog.exe
connmgr.exe
taskMge.exe
iLock2.exe
HTCIMSSvc.exe
AutoUpdate.exe
poutlook.exe
NK.exe
use task manager to turn them off one by one or in groups.

In the early days of my owning a TyTN II (HTC not AT&T Branded), I had this issue occuring often with my old PCs (via chipset USB 1.1 motherboards). Since updating the USB capability by addidng a decent NEC chipset based USB 2.0 PCI card, the connectivity problems vanished. Now I'm using an Intel DG45ID with USB 2.0 built in, the problem has never re-occurred. What are the ages / chipsets of these 'multiple PCs'? Have you tried connecting the Tilt to a newish PC?
I have a laptop not older than 2 years and it has intel 945 based chipset (which definetly support USB 2.0) and another PC on which I have tried also has 945 based chipset.
I think you are right, the issue is the USB ports. one of them showing an error when I pluging anything into this and I think other are not working properly too in my laptop but they are not showing an error.
However I tried different (other than I used) USB port in my Desktop and I do not see the issue.
Thanks for your help. We got the root cause but I dont know how to fix it in my laptop maybe usb port got the dust on it.

Those Intel 945 chipsets should definitely be able to cope with the USB demand alright. In time after installing lots of different USB devices through a given USB port, remnants of past driver associations etc can remain and it's often a good idea every now and again to perform a 'from the ground up' format and reinstal. If you have a recovery CDROM from the Laptop manufacturer (preumably this is what you're using as your main PC), then this will simplify things tremendously. Just make sure you back up all your important data before you commence the recovery operation.
I dont want to restart every thing I have lots of software and thing which will take ample of my time.
I am using Vista home premium, is there any way to clean up the driver related stuff.

I do understand as I've worked in IT in the past. You may find however that a restore/reinstall from scratch is the quickest way rather than going through looking for remnanats of files and unused registry entries to clear out. Its always a good idea to format your PCs HDD every so often anyway and usually the performance boost that comes with an efficient 'how it was meant to be' setup, helps to compensate for the time and effort it takes.

You could try using system recovery (I presume thats in Vista Home Premium, I don't have Vista myself), but I don't have much faith in such inbuilt recovery options. It'd also mean you need to know when to recover back to - the $64,000 question. You could also try uninstalling all the USB related things in device manager (with all USB devices unplugged at the time of course) and on restarting, the PC should pick them all up again (have your driver CDROMs on hand in case it doesn't). Personally, I'd just back up my data, get my software installation CDROMs ready and perform a full laptop system recovery using the manufacturers CDROM.

That should be the very last bit of advise to give out, and really I think thats very very bad advice.. Ah infact he claims that it happens on more then one computer, so it's a problem with the phone. I'm sure the "remnants" of drivers don't stay in the cable..
I tried multiple cables and multiple PCs and same issue is there.

No I haven't, however I too feel that it is the problem of the USB port or cable. I again tried on my desktop (with XP) on different ports (on board earliar I was trying with the front side USB ports) and seems to be fine, not showing and disconnecting issue. I do not know why there is a difference in usb ports.
My laptop with Vista still having an issue. One of the port even showing an error when I try to connect it.
It seems that the safe bet when syncing is to use XP.. I know that with notebooks the USB ports can be flakey because of power issues but that shouldn't be a big deal with a desktop.. Try your XP desktop and hopefully you'll have some good luck.
I'd like to say I've had this problem before, but I don't remember what I did to fix it.
I agree - well, with one point anyway

That's a good idea to try as well, a combination of both will almost certainly fix things. I guess my personal experience with this and the cause having been USB port related on the PCs (both with older VIA chipsets) led me in the direction of the PCs USB ports and everything surrounding them. You hit the nail on the head with with your comments about power issues on ports. I remember that one of the things which tended to bring on a disconnect in my last VIA chipset board was starting the TV Tuner up - the extra power consumed by the tuner put the rest of the chipset into a position where it simply couldn't cope with what Activesync was asking of it and the problem was 100% repeatable. I also found with that setup that I needed to disable Advanced Networking functionality on the phone or it wouldn't connect at all - although that didn't cause unreliable connections, it simply wouldn't connect with Advanced Networking Capability enabled. The newer USB port adapter card resolved all of these issues.
If [email protected] has lots of software installed on the PC, there may be lots on the phone as well so if thats the case, it'll mean a little work reinstalling cabs and reconfiguring there as well but I'm all for occasional cleanouts for restoring reliability and performance - the difference is often like night and day. Thanks for the additional positive idea among all the negatives.
Not able to connect to internet with Active sync
I don't know what is happening......now I am facing new issue.
I am able to connect to internet by Active sync on my vista laptop but its not working on XP desktop.
I have default connections in connection setting and I manually added for my ISP(Airtel).
I already tried deleting and resetting the sync settings, tried different setting on XP(Active Sync) but no use. Its working fine with Vista (WMDC).
Any help would be gratful.
Thanks.

I'm not sure what you want to connect to the internet - is it so you can have your Kaiser use your desktop PCs internet connection (what I suspect is the case) or the other way around (in which case internet connection sharing would come into play)?

If the problem is the former above, try changing the 'Automatic' in the Desktop Activesync 'This computer is connected to' section to 'The internet'. I had a WM 6.1 HTC ROM on my Kaiser for a while and this was the only way I could get it to connect (the WM 6.0 ROM works fine in this regard under Automatic). Not sure what you mean by manually added Airtel though. If thats also your landline ISP, I've never experienced a need to configure down to the level of specifying the ISPs name. The only ISP where names come into it in my experience is the one the phone is connected to over the air as the network of choice (Airtel going by your profile) and that should be fully set up using the HTC Configuration Wizard built into HTC TyTN II ROMs automatically a short while after it connects to the network for the first time (or after a hard reset). Is this not happening for you?
I already tried deleting and resetting the sync settings, tried different setting on XP(Active Sync) but no use. Its working fine with Vista (WMDC).

If you've tried the above config change in the XP machines Activesync settings, you could always try uninstalling and reinstalling Activesync 4.5 after you've backed up important data from the phone.

Yes, I am talking about the former one.

Tried but no use. Still not able to update the weather and access the internet by opera/IE mobile.

No, I have to manually add the configuration to connect to my ISP(Airtel) over the air (Edge). I know this nothing to do with active sync but I mentioned it here for the sake of the information.

I tried this too, still no success.
Any other suggestion would be grateful.

Try disabling or removing any software firewall on the XP machine if it has any? Is the phone in the same state when you connect it via WMDC and this works as when you attempt the same through Activesync 4.5 and it doesn't? Did you end up doing the hard reset suggested?

I will not do this as it time consuming to setup all the things.
I bought a Captivate with rogers on 2.1 update 1 today and when I connected it to my PC it wasn't recognized, installed the drivers and it's still stubborn. I booted into Ubuntu 10.10 and still same problem! I can't stand it it's driving me crazy! there's no reason why it should be doing this but I can't make it work!!! Please someone help I am really desperate
There are several reasons this could be happening. A search will come up with all of them. For me, it was the USB port on the computer. It didn't like the remote ports. Once I plugged into one of the ports directly off the MB, works everytime.
You might never get it to work
I've been reading these posts and trying suggestions since I got my Captivate back in August. I still have not been successful in getting any kind of reliable connection between a computer and my phone. This is my second phone and I have tried 5 different computers. One of the computers was tried with Win XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Nothing seems to get me a reliable connection. I hope you have better luck. I get a wild hair every now and then and spend a few more pointless hours trying to make it work but to this point nothing is working. I've tried Kies, Kies mini, old drivers, new drivers, 32 bit drivers, 64 bit drivers, etc. NOTHING HAS WORKED. I've managed to be able to mount my drives and copy files occasionally but no kind of sync where anything is automated. Also I have found nothing that can get me any sort of contact or calendar sync with Outlook. My work prevents me from putting everything into Google mail and syncing that way so I'm just out of luck with a phone that ATT told me I could sync with Outlook. Maybe Froyo will fix this or else I have to wait my year until I'm eligible for an upgrade to get a phone that actually works properly (ie, non Samsung), although I have to wait for OTA Froyo since Kies won't be of any help in upgrading anything!
This is the best drivers i found to make it work on my Vista box.
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x86.shtml
The USB drivers from Samsung's website seem to be pretty bogus.
If the ones from the link above don't work you can go here - and download the USB drivers for your OS there. I have tested both and they work great on my computers.
And... if your running Vista - IMO That is Issue #1

... That OS was never a issue for me.. i found the user using it is often the #1 issue
LOL I refused to run it. For some reason my systems refused to run it and I always ended up going back to XP.
Now with Windows 7 - I think Microshaft got it right (as close as they can) and its what Vista should have been to begin with

This may seem obvious, but I didn't see it mentioned here. Do you have USB debugging checked? I remember having that issue back in July, when I was just a little noob

Usb debug is only for adb to work. You can still mount/detect the phone without it. Windows should detect it as a usb mass storage .

but you can't sync with outlook with usb debugging on, which was the original problem.

Thanks for the response. I've had debugging turned on and off. Neither seemed to make much difference. I did find one interesting thing the other day though. I uninstalled all Samsung software and drivers. Before I tried any kind of reload I used a registry cleaner to clear out any remnants. It seemed to act a lot differently when I reloaded things and I actually managed to sync my calendar and Contact List although not with Kies or any Samsung software. I used a program called MyPhoneExplorer. It takes a while to figure out but seems to work well if you have a decent phone-computer connection. It only worked once though and the next time I plugged back in there is no connection. There was a time when I was hopeful that Froyo would fix this but now I'm doubtful that the Captivate will ever get Froyo, at least from Samsung or AT&T.
I totally do not understand this phone when connecting to my PC. I am sooo sick of this thing not being recognized and trying to connect with Kies!!! I would run better odds playing Russian Roulette at being the big winner!! What other options do we have to get our phone to connect so we can load an unload our media. I dont have the space to load my whole library and wouldnt want to wait the years it would take to load it :|
I can't connect my Captivate to my Windows PC or Ubuntu through the USB cable that came with the device. I think it's the cable that's short circuited resulting in no connection so I will get a cable asap. My temp solution was an 8GB microSD but even now i tried rooting with the update.zip file and I had no luck I don't really care if my phone connects to the computer as long i have a microSD card reader and rom manager too bad for my 16GB memory but I can't even root! I hope they fix the update.zip file. This phone has killer hardware. It's such a shame how it's being brought down...

Have you tried connecting to a USB port right off the MB? I know my remote USB ports would charge the phone but were flaky when trying to connect to my computer. Moving to the MB USB port fixed all my problems. Connects everytime now.
Well I only have a laptop and I tried all the ports...
If you truly think the USB cable is bad - then I would suggest going back to your retailer your purchased it from and get another one.
Also - if you want to ROOT your phone - you should still be able to. I would download the CLShortFuse's 1 Click Root application. Then you can copy the update.zip from inside that application's folder and copy it to your internal SDCard like you have been doing then flash as normal.
It will not include SU or Busybox I think though - or enable sideloading of applications. You will still need to d/l ROM Manager and get busybox that way.
I wouldn't recommend flashing ROMS to your phone until you can get it to recognize though. Please tell me you haven't installed kies? And I would go to the Q&A sticky - it has the 1-click root app as well as the USB drivers I recommend installing to have your phone recognized.
I install the usb drivers for xp and never had an issue with 2 home laptops and 2 work laptops. Wife's windows 7 machine i did not even have to install drivers and it recognized it without issue. Make sure you are using the cable that came with the phone as i have had issues with other micro usb cords that did not come with the phone.

I tried the USB drivers you posted on another PC and USB cable and it worked like a charm!
Thanks alot!
If all you want to do is copy media you can get by without Kies I believe. All you should need is a proper driver setup for your computer. Once drivers are loaded and recognizing the phone all that should be left is to mount the drives on the phone. Just be sure to have the phone in "Mass Storage" mode instead of "Kies" mode. I can't get Kies to work for me but from what I understand the only real benefit of that is for doing upgrades, I might be wrong though since it doesn't work at all for me.

Exactly I've read on Engadget that 2.2 finally came to Canada but kies won't work for me either all I want is to root my god damn phone on 2.1 update 1 to get the gingerbread ROM from supercurio as soon as it's stable but I can't even root
