Hey, i had a few classic java games lying around (might and magic ii, splinter cell pandora tomorrow, R6V) and i thought itd be fun to play them again. i put them on and everything runs reallly smoothly.. theres just one problem though. alot of the games are meant to be played on a numberpad (they require the use of *, #, 1, 3, 7, 9 keys).. but on a tilt, you can't have those keys unless you slide out and switch to landscape view. this makes the game smaller and distorted sometimes..
i noticed that the IE key, mail key, windows, dial, end call, and ok buttons aren't mapped to anything within the java game. they do their intended function (press dial and the dialer will pop up, hit IE and IE will open up). is there anyway i can remap those keys to the standard number pad keys while inside a java applet?
I hope someone can answer this because playing java gaves with the controls they give you is so darn difficult...

hello,
i have a quick question for which i did not find an answer here.
since yesterday i had an mda compact whi i used, among other things, to play some gba games using morphgear or pocket gba.
i could reconfigure the buttons on my mda compact inside these two programms, so that for example pressing the green phone button did not start the phone application but instead interpreted as the button "select" for morphgear/pocket gba.
with the kaiser this does not work anymore. i can reconfigure the buttons inside morphgear/pocket gba, but when i press one of these buttons it starts the main application.
is there a way around this?
EDIT: OK, THE GAMES ARE NOT CRAP! THE CONTROLS ARE DIFFICULT! (how's that )
I'm not sure if this is possible, but the scroll wheel is a heat pad. So could it work in such a way that it's a directional D-pad?
It would need some programming to translate scroll-wheel positions to D-Pad directions. But this would be awsome for games as you no longer have to press, and you can control things much smoother.
thoughts?
Some combination of that for up/down and the accelometer for left/right would be badass.
Lots of fun looking 3d racing/flying games about, and I always crash into the first object or end up pressing home trying to turn.
Thats nice, start by saying all the games are crap, that'll get the devs on your side.
that was meant to grab attention - I'm a developer myself and I own a Diamond 'cos I love it.
And more to the point, i meant the controls are crap, guess I could have worded that better
Okay. Well I beleive the current API just tells you thinks like RPM and amount of scorlling, not your actual position on the device which would be useless for games. Does anyone have more detail on this?
Not sure where exactly a post like this should go.
Anyway I have been looking all over the place for an application like this
http://www.geekandproud.net/software/keycaps600.php
For a kaiser. More specifically an ATT TILT keyboard layout.
Pretty much what it does is, if you hit the hard keyboard button once it acts normal. If you hit it twice (quickly) it does whatever function + that key would be. And if you press and hold it, it capitalizes the letter for you.
I had this on all my Treos, and it was the best thing ever.
I searched and found one application that says it can do 4 things per key, but after further investigation it seems like you can only map apps to the keys and specific macros made by the dev.
Anyone ever see an application like this for a TILT?

Not sure if it your s/w is different, mines a Vodafone v1615, if you press the Cap button quickly twice the cap light will stay lit and text will be in caps until you press the caps button a 3rd time to cancel it, if that is what your asking?
You are right you can use the fn, caps, and shift keys. However if I am typing anything that has any sort of capitals that are not at the start of words, it slows my typing down a lot. Always moving back to the fucntion key. I can type prolly 1/3 faster on my treo, then on my tytn II.

Get MagiKBLite. You can make your own key assignments. There is a Treo layout included, you can learn how to set up your own by looking at that. I have made a Tilt keyboard assignment layout, if you'd like to try it, then customize as you wish.
Thanks, that looks like exatcly what I was looking for.

Check Dredsensor, it does what you want:

So I've been experimenting with turning my Note 3 into a mobile media and gaming device. The media part works well (other than a few hiccups with my hdmi connector from time to time). However, I am running into issues playing games with my keyboard.
The specific app I am having issues with is QIII4A, with Open Arena. I can bind my movement keys in the game settings just fine, and my mouse works well. The problem is that my movement keys do not work, at all, when bound to WASD (technically their Dvorak equivalent, but I don't believe that's the issue). When bound to the arrow keys I can move just fine. Crouch and jump also work, Ctrl and space respectively.
I believe it's an issue with my input, possibly not repeatedly sending a key press like it would on a Computer. I use External Keyboard Helper Pro as my input method when I have a keyboard attached. I've played with the settings that seem relevant (pause before key repeating set to none, also tried do not repeat as a test).
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could get this working? I could change my keyboard layout in EKH, but I'd rather avoid this if possible.
Additionally, is it possible to unbind or rebind mouse keys? Mouse 2 as back is rather annoying.
I'm running root stock mj5, if it matters.
Thanks!

So I've done a bit more testing and it seems to be a problem with any games. Curious to know if there's a known workaround.
On further testing, I noticed that as I hold a movement key I do get some motion, just incredibly slow. Seems that it is sending a string of keypresses instead of one, long keypress. This is also why the jump and use keys work fine, as one short press is plenty. Crtl, alt, and the arrow keys or "gamepad up/down/left/right" as they're mapped work fine.
I did go ahead and create a new layout for gaming, so in the mean time that is probably a decent compromise. Just wish I could go all the way so I could type and game with the same layout. If anyone is interested I'd be happy to post a walkthrough on the key remapping process using external keyboard helper.
