(or maybe if its a hardware problem someone could tell me where to get a replacement speaker (its a little box with (2) metal spots + - where springs touch.
any ideas are welcome, i just upgraded from 2003 wm to wm 6.1 (but the sound was gone before...) it said before turn on bluetooth radio?

No sound?
Hello szalajko
I had a similar problem with my qtek 2020.
It stopped the sound, and I thought it was someting wrong with the software, but after some reading I discovered the last time I had the headphones connected it didnĀ“t reset the 2.5 jack female, so the system "thought" it had the headphones on, so no sound.
I connected again and disconnected a few times and the miracle hapenned.
Say somethin if this helps.

Speaker not fully duplex?

Hi,
I have a very weird problem with my Tytn II, which I bought little over a week now.
People I was talking to complained they didn't hear me very good, the sound appeared to drop. It occured to me that it was happening when I used the speaker (handsfree) of the phone.
I did some testing, and this is what happens:
I (with the Tytn II) call person X, and when I and person X are talking together, person X cannot hear me, the sound on his side simply fades to nothing, until 1 of us keeps quiet. The same happens when for example sound from my car is picked up by the phone, thus resulting in the device not being usable in the car, since there's always some noise. I however on my side keep hearing person X, it's person X that doesn't hear me.
It happens with 2 sim cards, everyone I call, did a hard reset, HTC support doesn't know the problem...
I'm puzzled. Can anyone suggest anything? Or is it faulty?
Thanks
no, mine does the same thing. I got it a few days ago and when i used speaker while driving, i could hear the other person perfect, but they cant seem to hear me. It feels like half duplex. i hope this is fixable
Damn, it seems widespread then...?
Anyone who can test it?
maybe it has to do with whatever noise cancelling algorithm is in effect is mucking everything up

Meaning that every single device would have this, and thus mine not being faulty?
I had the same problem but remembered that there was an automatic sound function which turns down the volume when talking is too hard and turns it up when to soft. Its called microphone agc and you can find it under system configuration. Now that it's turned off my dutch htc tytn II works fine in handsfree mode. Hoop this helps you also

It's already turned off :-( .
However, I just called with HTC, and they said it's because of the mic and the speaker being too close to each other, and thus it compensates.
They say every model has it however, they did a test today and the result was that it was a feature, not a bug...
Anyone here who does not have it on his device?
I have this problem all the time, both on speaker and just using the phone to my ear as normal.
People complain I am very quiet or that the sound is choppy and I sound like a robot
I used to have this problem on the O2 XDA IIs a few years ago.
Anyone else have it too? I'd like to know asap if this device is faulty, or if it's normal?
Sometimes, it seems that when I'm holding it to my ear, the sound seem to drop on the other side too...
I have exactly the same problem. People have trouble hearing me with loudspeaker switched on. Without speaker they can hear me perfectly.
I have the same problem too. Just try to disable the Microphone AGC thing and it fixes the problem. Thanks downnootje.
I have teh same problem , but I tried something and it is improved the Operation , try to minimize the Speaker volume to the minimum level and then it improes a little and it works for me ; not all the time but that is what we can do at the moment
I'm convinced now that it's a mojor problem.
Mine even got worse: since yesterday, it's happening without handsfree too, people can't almost hear me when I just hold it to my ear...
Is this a phone still, or can't it be used as such?
try enableing Microphone AGC thing, restart phone, and disable it
Me too. Juz got my set 2 days back. The other party hears my voice intermittently chop-off...
I have faced the similar problem on a particular China-made TV phone too. Tested two other units of the same model still the same. It seems to me the phone design issue, as after I changed to another model of China-made TV phone, the problem solved.
Sigh! Already got this expensive phone, think have to bear with this feature then if it is really cannot be resolved by new ROM.
same problem
i have the same problem...with my 8525 when I was on the train or in a similar noisy situation i never had any trouble with people hearing me on the other end...with the tilt i can't even carry on a conversation on the train...i called tech support and they told me to swap it out for a new one.

I've tried that and it doesn't help! Quite sad about it. I need to use speaker handsfree especially during driving.... Don't really like to hook-up the headset or BT headset... too messy for wired headset and too tedius (charging) for BT headset...
Now that I know its half duplex it works pretty well in the car - I just wait for the other person to stop talking
Surur
I will be sending mine to HTC for a planned hardware fix as they agreed there is a defect that affects all kaiser and tilts, but NOT the MDA VARIO III. this is a known issue and is hardware related. Good news for those who havent purchased one yet. I will sell mine on ebay if they dont asign me a RA soon. I rather have the MDA VARIO III as it has 2 cams.
(doesnt your HTC TYTN2 has 2 camera's?)
Same problem here. Hope for a sollution soon!
Will call HTC too soon, so theyll have more complaints about this defect.

HTC Diamond headphones autodial problem

I have an wierd problem in my htc touch diamond.
Everytime i connect the headphones it tries to autodial a name in my contacts list.
And if i connect the radio it doest it nonstop... i heard the "bip" and then its like if it wanted to dial a name...
It sounds strange..but it is like that.
hope somenone knows what im talking about cause im gettting nuts...
Spanish original vodafone rom, not that many programs installed, although started doing it after installing thumbcal and pocketmax alarm today.. although I dont think that is the problem since i restored with spb backap a 1 month ago backup i made and still same headphones problem.
Have checked the headphone button.. and it seems to be ok (at first I though if maybe was stuck..)
Got the same problem. Did anyone know how to solve it?
sounds to me like a faulty headset. Try to connect a different set of headphones and see if it acts the same way.
I got same problem
Hi, your problem solved? my HTC diamond got the same problem, so irritating.
I have the same problem, I was told it was that the button on the headphones was too sensitive, so as I never use it I ripped the button off.
It isn't nearly as bad but still does it sometimes.
My friend with the same phone says that this fixed his though.
I think I need to have another go at it, see if I can stop it properly.
Ok, so I pulled the cover from the button on the headphones and ripped out all of the metal button that is attached to the board inside.
It's certainly working so far.
headphones HELP PLEASE!!!
hey guys i picked a pair of headphones from the store they fit my htc daimond and all but wen i plug them in nuthing happens wen i plug ionto to my razr or slvr they work fine is there an app that can help change this or something please help
HTC headphones auto dial problem finally solved!!!!
guys,I am using HTC Touch Pro2,I have same problem when headphone is plugged into HTC touch pro2;
Description of symptom:
Sometimes when you touch or move the wires of headphone, the phone will automatically dial back the first number in your call hisory (it's not "contacts list" as this poster said),the problem is not stable, when you deliberately fiddle with the wires of headphone hoping to find out what is the problem,it doesnt auto dial, while when you casually try to adjust the position of the wires to make yourself comfortable,it auto dials!
People completely have no idea what is going on,like it's a ghost behind it.
I initially believed that maybe the movement of the wires shakes the USB slot, which triggers internal electronic touching or somthing.
Like others,I checked whether there is some button along the wires of headphone,I found none, thus this mystery remains forever.
However, the other day, suddenly I did find a button in the wire. Now pls look at your HTC headphone, the middle of the black box(where two wires are jointed) is the button! the cover of this box is clickable, pls try to click it sveral times, the phone will auto dial.
it is now clear that this clickable cover (button) is specifically designed to auto dial back the call when you use headphone.
The button is so sensitive that even small touch will make it execute.
I had the same problem
I had this annoying problem and i sent my phone in service. I got a new pair of headphones and after some time (~1 year) same problem occured. I think this are the crappiest headphones i ever seen . THX HTC ) anyone found any good headphones (not necessarily original) that I can buy?
same problem
Had the same problem. It's caused by faulty wiring in the headphones. Mine do the calling when the wire at the end of the connector gets wiggled into certain positions (i.e. when I keep it in my pocket or in my hand while running). It's really annoying especially since this is my 3rd set in as many months that has this problem.
I've also noticed that Orange is selling them at a quarter of the price they had in December. I'm guessing they're trying to get rid of them since the new models from htc come with standard headphone jacks.
Only sure fire solution to the problem is getting a new pair.
Same here.
There are other threads about this problem.
Still looking for a solution like, let's say a registry hack that disables the headset button...
HELP

[HELP] Earpiece No Sound. Using loud speaker to make calls

I need help. My tytn 2 's earpiece/speaker is dead suddenly. I just remember I receive a call in the morning which is still working fine. Then suddenly in the afternoon it's totally dead. I still can use the loud speaker or headphone, but the main primary speaker is dead.
I have perform several hardreset, and flashed the new radio and finally a new ROM.
Is there anything I can do ?
same problem occured a month before... does anybody know how to deal with that?
u still haven fix it? I tried everything, drain the batt, flash diff radio, flash the rom.....
It should be a hardware related problem
The problem is... earpiece speaker. I've opened the phone and found that one of speaker's legs is broken.
Oh no! Yeah my phone does the same thing now.
Flashed a new radio and rom....Hard and soft reseted...still no sound in call but only on speaker..
I was really hoping it was a software related issue. Does anyone else have experience with this?
It normaly is hardware issue. But that is no bigger problem. Just get a new earpiece for some $ in the web open your Kaiser and exchange them. It isn't a realy hard work but you should know some basic things about your Kaiser so that you don't do something wrong. There is information on how to change the earpiece in the service manuals of some devices. Maybe that helps too.

Cant hear caller

Hey guys, Im having an issue with my xperia. I reflashed it to a new rom and hard-reset it. For some reason I can't hear the caller nor can the caller hear me when Im on a call. This just randomly started happening one day. Anyone help?
Edit, I just ntoiced my headphone icon won't go away. So I can only hear people if a headphone is connected, anyone know any way around this cause I'm thinking my sensor may be messed up. I dont know what to do now
SAV you can't do anything about this issue.
I have the same bug 3 months ago then my phone came back normal and 2 weeks ago the bug re appeared so SAV again ....
-connect your headphone
-run windows player with a video or an audio file
-during the play, slowly disconnect your headphone
The headphone icon must be away
If it does not work, the only solution is SAV...
well i was able to fix it yesterday. I dont know which one of these fixed it but I tried two methods. First I read is plugging in the headphone and slowly taking it out of the jack while pushing the headphone jack towards the screen. Then someone wrote that they used the pressurized air cleaner to blow inside the headphone hole. After trying those two methods, the headphone icon went away. Seems to be fine now. Thanks for the help though!
Maybe this will help someone else.
Also, what is SAV?
i got stereo bluetooth headphones and i haven't tested them yet. i got the same problem with this icon, and it won't go away. So, my question is: IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONNECT STREO BLUETOOTH WITH THIS ICON ON THE SCREEN?

Problem: Very poor microphone sound

Hello, greetingz to all. I recently purchased used Xperia, and it worked well untill few days ago, when i start to have problems with microphone (in phone). The sound reception is very poor and people i talk to can barely hear me or not hearing me at all. I tried all and nothing works, except when i connect headset in vibration-only mode. Then the reception of the sound from the headset microphone perfect. But not when the sounds on the phone are on, or in any other case. I also tried does it record sound on video or audio for MMS - same thing, just crackling noise.
I would appreciate if anybody could help with this. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I did hard reset, i did reinstall software from SE Update (even i had most recent one), nothing happened.
Same problem here!
But i can use the headset when the sound is on.
Im afraid i lose my phone for a while, again. I had software problems before.
I think i will burn a good rom when it's back.
in settings->system->Microphone AGC
turned on ?
AGC == automatic gain control which mean the mic adjust it's sensitivity according to the volume of the surroundings
Rudegar,
i wish i read your tip before i brought it to the shop
but i think it would be standard because i also tried a hard reset?
there is also a crack in my xperia, so i sent it anyway
greets, robbin
