bluetooth problem with car kit hand free: not compatible - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

hi, i recently bought a autoradio becker cascade , which has bluetooth for hand free carkit....but when i connect my diamond (rom unofficial HTC, rom radio .07), the sound is very bad, i can hear, but very bad....sound is distorting, as if speaker broken....i saw a post in elf forum where someone have the same problem, it seems to be a bluetooth problem of HTC, about the HFP protocole...
in other word, apparently all pda phone which have an older version (win mobile 5...) work perfectly, but not htc pro and diamond, because the bluetooth are not compatible with the becker...
becker protocole is hfp, but HTC supports hfp protocol too....very strange!
maybe there is a bug in htc, or something else... my phone works with other car kits, and old phone works with my becker carkit (i don't try new phone in my car)....
so is there some rom radio which fix its bugs?? i would like to solve this problem, but i don't find an answer yet.
so if somebody have an idea....
i tried all official and unofficial rom and rom radio, always the same thing.
thank you

BT problem with Pioneer DEH-P70BT

Hi,
I bought a Pioneer DEH-P70BT car stereo it has a internal BT carcit BUT my qtek 9090 is not compatible with the head, my other phone a Ericsson Z600 works without any problem
But my 9090 won't connect to the carkit in de radio
this is also stated in de compatibility list on the pioneer site
if anybody can solve this problem for me, witch give me the option to lose the Z600 again and go back to 1 phone
the pioneer has BT 1.0 and works ok with the qtek S100
pls help
regards John
Hi John,
I am going to order the Pioneer DEH-P70BT soon since my Jabra BT800 headset seems to be useless when I try to call hands-free (this headset is obviously not the best candidate for QTek9090 and people at PDAShop in Rotterdam had already warned me due to compatibly issues).
Anyway, I was searching on the web to see if there are any experiences with DEH-P70BT till I found a few reviews at http://www.kieskeurig.nl
Go here: http://www.kieskeurig.nl/review/96D5EED1A819DFD3C12570230044CEC9.htm and search for Qtek, be aware that despite the official statement of Pioneer (see compatibility list of phones: http://www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/compatibility_Web.pdf) people use this player with QTek9090.
kind regards,
- Avareh
Don't use the register function on the head unit, instead tell it to connect. Then go to the phone and add a BT device with the code 1111. It worked for me with a JAMin.
Regards
you ******* hero. That worked!

Parrot MK 6100 compatibility

Just before my S730 died I tried to connect it with a Parrot MK 6100. It didn't work. The S730 stalled right after the connect. After 2 minutes it disconnected. Does anyone know if the S730 is compatible with this carkit? I might need to buy a new one, but I don't buy it if it isn't compatible.
can't find result for HTC S730 and MK6100:
http://www.parrot.com/usa/support/o...ompatibility/?idproduct=24&idbrand=41&etape=2
But I Have a HTC TyTN II and MK6000 and it's not really working 100%.
If I'm using navigation SW and streaming mp3 at the same time as I have to take an incoming call it'll lock up.
The Parrot do some strange after ending a call before it releases the mute function of my radio etc.

HTC S730 works (almost good)
I bought the HTC S730 and it works fairly good. I experience the following problems:
Phone connects automatically, but A2DP needs to be connected manual. No big issue, because I seldom use the A2DP profile.
You need to pick up the phone using the Parrot's green button. Pressing the phone's button doesn't route the sound/mic through the Parrot, but leaves it on the phone (this might be done intentionally to allow private calls).
Sometimes the phone disconnects when calls are made quickly after eachother.
It's not perfect, but it works rather good. I only had very bad experiences with Windows Mobile and BT carkits, so I am already quite happy. I hope that Parrot fixes the last few flaws, but I suspect a lot of problems are in WM (or HTC).
update
You will have to flash you're parrot with latest firmware 1.3
We also did it here and now the htc S730 works although the tytn II (kaisers) don't work that fine.
Flashed my kaiser with dutty rom and now it syncs fine and i have no problems, but my collegue's with standard kaiserrom still do have problems.
This afternoon i will have a look into the other kaisers

I have firmware MK-6100 v1.03, but it isn't good. I always thought that my HTC S730 was causing the problems. However, I connected it to a built-in Audi carkit and the HTC S730 works great. I suspect it's not only the S730 that is causing the problem.
The main problem is that the S730 disconnects after finishing a phonecall.

Can the Tilt/Kaiser Bluetooth Stack be replaced?

I've been having some issues with my Tilt and my car's hands free setup (see: http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=cingular&message.id=105410). The problems seems to lie with the Microsoft bluetooth stack on WM 6.1. HTC is no help with this issue so I want to take matters into my own hands. Is there a way to replace the default Microsoft bluetooth stack with another, more reliable compatible stack from a reliable company (not Microsoft or HTC)? I don't want to get rid of my Tilt, but I need it to work right in my car. I'm thinking of staying away from purchasing WM 6.1 smartphones because of this.
frustrated...
Wow, no one has answered my post here, at ATT, at Kenwood, or on tiltsite. HTC answered only to tell me that compatibility doesn't necessarily mean that it would work (bs). This is very frustrating. I've read post all over xda developers and the rest of the internet about tilt bluetooth problems yet no one has an answer. I've completely giving up on trying to get bluetooth to work right with any of my devices (car, computer, etc). I can't imagine buying another HTC product. Good luck to everyone else out there struggling to get bluetooth to work on their tilt while the motorola, blackberry, lg, samsung, and other phone users watch with amazement and pity. Keep fighting the good fight. Hopefully one of you will win. I've completely lost!
That's a pretty strange story you've got there, because I have zero problems with my Tilt and bluetooth pairing to all manners of devices... on a regular basis, I connect my Tilt to my car's Pioneer stereo deck, to my laptop and desktop, and to my wireless headphones and I've had little to no difficulty. Actually, the easiest pairings so far have been between my Tilt and Pioneer Stereo Deck... At least for basic features - in order for the phone book entries to show on the deck's LCD display it required an upgrade from WinMo 6.0 to 6.1 and then in the deck itself I have to manually download the contact book. But that's the only troublesome thing I have to do, which is mostly an advanced feature any way that I could live (but prefer not to) without.
Sucks that you're having problems, all I can suggest is make sure you're doing everything properly... I've had no problems I couldn't overcome with my Tilt and bluetooth capable devices, especially since Windows Mobile 6.1 came out.
Hi,
I'm having the same problems, also when disconnecting from the BT carstereo after a phonecall, the device freezes up.
Anybody found a solution for this problem yet ?
Ny the way, my car stereo is a JVC KD-BT1

@k4ever: Have you checked out this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285419
From what I can tell, they've ported the Widcomm BT stack to the Hermes and TyTN, so I imagine it's not far off from the Kaiser/TyTN-II, if it doesn't already work (my BT is working fine, so I'm not too likely to mes with my phone to find out-- but I hope this helps!)

EDIT: Here's a CAB from the newer threads of the above post:

Thanks
Wow, thanks for the replies.
@ceosion
I got it working with a Pioneer deck in Best Buy. I was actually debating buying one, but I paid $500 for my Kenwood setup. All of my other phones work with it, to include other WM phone (not from HTC). I contacted Kenwood, but I have not recieved a reply.
@Weasel5i2
I tried the Widcomm stack when I used the stock ATT rom. It completely disabled bluetooth on the Tilt. I will try it with the PDA Corner rom I'm currently using (the best!) after the holiday weekend.
Thanks again for the replies!

I am experiencing Bluetooth connection issues between the Tytn2 and a kenwood DNX8220BT As far as I've heard from kenwood the Tytn2 is only supported with the older version of Windows Mobile (6.0)
I've also tried the Kenwood with my wife's Touch Diamond (Also HTC but other CPU, don't know about the BT radio though) but that one is also experiencing trouble. I didn't get any indication when they would have a new firmware version ready.
You did indicate that you also tried another WM phone, which version of WM does that one operate on?
@Mautje
The other WM phone was a Samsung Blackjack II running WM 5. I downgraded my Tilt to the default WM 6 Rom from ATT, but I had the same problems. I'm running the PDA Corner WM 6.1 Rom now. Does matter which ROM I use, I get the same results on the Tilt.
widcomm stack a no-go
I tried the Widcomm stack. It did not work at all. Kept getting error that "there was not enough memory to run, please reset device" or something to that nature. Could not uninstall so I had to re-flash my ROM. Back to square one.

To bad. I was also looking into the other roms on this forum but it wil probably not work..
Kenwood is reporting that it should work with the rom version mentioned in the compatibility sheet.
In the sheet for version 1.43 firmware there is no mention at all of a rom version just the Tytn2.. I guess that's the WM 6.0 version

Diamond + Nissan handsfree problem

Hi everybody!
I have problem using my Nissan Qashqai handsfree with Diamond. Sound quality it very bad (like transmitted only half of time-slots) and my voice isn't heared at all (silence).
My previous HTC 3300 and friend's GlowFish work well. Also i tested Diamond with Jabra handsfree - it was ok too.
I've changed several RAM and Radio, but nothing help.
Once i noticed on system tray message "Stereo handsfree connected". Maybe my problem becouse of Diamond stereo connection to mono handsfree?
How to debug this issue, is there any tools or tweeks for manual Bluetooth operations?
Sorry, i cannot help you but i do have the same problem!
I have a HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) and a Qashqai.
It apears the problem is related to WM6.1 bluetooth stack. I've read on the internet tjhat the problem is "solved" in WM6.0 and WM5 but i don;t know how to downgrade the bluetooth stack to the version of WM6.0 or WM5.
Maybe somebody can sent me a complete export of the HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth registry of a WM6.0 or WM5 HTC device so i can compare these, maybe there are some changed "defaults" there?

No bluetooth handsfree with cooked roms

When I flash my HD with a 1.56 cooked rom, I'm unable to connect with my handsfree. I can pair with the handsfree through bluetooth but I can not hear or speak to anyone.
If I flash with the stock HTC 1.56 rom, I can pair and talk through the handsfree.
Is there a fix for this? I've tried several cooked roms and the outcome is the same.
Thanks!

I have DavidEuck 8.5 running and the bluetooth handsfree with my JVC carkit works fine. Can you try to pair with another bluetooth handsfree set and see if thats works fine? I would recommend at least upgrading to the latest radio.

i have the same problem with most of the cooked roms specilly some times i can not hear the voice of other party this problem arrises with Miri's rom that i like it and Duty's rom that is very famous
for me stock roms and kwbr rom works fine
i have tested 3 devices Motorlla car kit, the expensive new Nokia sterio bluetooth headphone and sony erecsson sterio bluetooth head phone they all have problem with some cooked roms; i hope i can find a wm 6.5 rom that does not have this problem specially with good memory management like miri and kwbr that doesn't eat lots of memory.
Me, too. I am using daviddeuck v6. After 3 weeks sometimes it works and sometimes I cannot hear the other party.
I tried 2 jabra models with the same results.
Same issue
I had the same issue with my parrot 3200LS and Dutty's extreme 2.2/ Laurentius26's L26_THDV2.2_Ultimate Roms.
I even tried JETware Hands-free Extension for Windows Mobile phones (http://www.jetwaremobile.com) --supercool program btw!
But all to no extent.
Reflashing back to Laurentius26's L26_THDV7.5_WWE CE OS 5.2.20769 (Build 20769.1.4.5 L26) ROM "solved" the problem for me.
Now I get my phone's ringtones through my parrot (and thus my car-hi speakers ). Hope the problem is solved in newer roms...
(Btw, great job with your ROMs guys!! )
Y
Happens to me to.
ROM:
dutty v3.4
perhaps we could make a List of working/not worling Roms.
For me it's an essential feature for ROM choice.
Epecially bought a Radio for this feature...
Almost same for me.
Duttys v 3.4 ROM
Ford Car Kit (just talk, no music) connects and works without any problems.
iTech Clip R35 (A2DP, AVRCP) will not pair at all.
(I don't know if the profiles mean anything. Just remembered that there was a lot of talk about supported profiles in the R35 manual.)

Use Onkologs Lite-Rom and it works perfect.
I found i couldnt pair my phone with a few handsfree devices i was testing in a shop - seems there is a problem with the bluetooth stack and the newer roms. Odd this hasnt been reported sooner
i feel there is a problem with the configuration between windows and manilla some where or the driver for blue tooth is not complete that is why it loses the connection somewhere for most of the cooked roms
I agree, there must be something wrong with the bluetooth stack.
When I use a 1.14 ROM, I can hear and speak to people through my hands-free. But, when I flash a 1.56 ROM all I get is "dead air" when I answer a call through my hands-free.
I've tried flashing to Dutty's, Miri's, Laurentius26's, Topix's and a few other rom's, with the same result, I am unable to hear & talk to the other person on my hands-free.
I also tried updating to the 1.14 radio and I've tried older radio's and I still have the same problem.
Starting July 1st, my state will require drivers to use hands-free devices when dialing and driving.

after trying almost all the new roms i returned back to the latest stock rom (28-4-2009) Bluetooth and every thing works absolutely perfect and it has got excellent memory management (only 32% with full loaded program), i use this rom when i want to rely on my HD.
by the way i think all the kwbr roms also works fine with bt. i wish i can find a 6.5 rom that works fine with blue tooth and has got good memory managemt, just waiting may be miri will do something, his rom got good memory management that is very imprtant for me
After the "SD card not shown", this is another weird report by using cooked ROM
has anyone got bluetooth devices to pair with a cooked 6.5 ROM ?
if not this is a pretty major problem ??
Yes I have.
I just got Miri's V15 pairing with my factory fitted Range Rover bluetooth kit and it works perfectly including giving access to the address book.
Previously I was using WM6.1 and many of Dutty's ROMs and I had intermittent drop outs with the car and phone.
Miri's ROM has upgraded my radio so I can't be sure if WM6.5 fixed the problem or if it was the new radio, but for the first time in 6 months I actually have a working hands free kit in my car

Well, that's me fixed...
Both car and iTech Clip works with Duttys 3.7/2.1 ROM.
And I'm ashamed to say; that the clip didn't connect earlier was my fault...
I used default code 0000 as stated in iTech's documentation, not the real default code of 8888...
Once I used the correct code, all was well...

I am using now Laurentius 2.1. My bluetoothheadset that suports only handsfree talking works properly. With my Jabra BT8010 only stereo music works, handsfree is a game of luck.
Hope any ROM expert will fix this in the future. For me it is one of the most important features of my TOUCH HD.
working!
Hi,
yesterday I flashed to Duttys 3.9 Turbo - and I love it!
BT works as A2DP & Handsfree!
beside it's very fast - what else we need

Using Energy's 6.5 june 16th version.. Works PERFECT with my brand new Nokia BH-904 (which also is great)
it works in miri's rom as well plus you have lots of free memory when you really need it
