I have loaded the Manilla TF2D cab and the mail tab does not recognize my outlook mail. I had gmail in there, which it seemed to read fine, but even when I removed gmail it still is not reading my exchange account. I have read other people having this problem and it seems like everyone just responds, it does work.
Is there anything I should try to do, to get this to work, and obviously it is not just me, and it does not work on this phone for some reason.
Any help would be appreciated, the interface is really amazing on the phone, much smoother then I would have expected. Thank you for your work, and thanks for your help.
I am having a similar issue...i installed the Manilla TF2D onto my Omnia but the Mail defaults to my MMS account. I would like it to default to my Outlook (Exchange) account. Is there some way to do this through the registry? Does anyone know?

not 100% sure what you are saying really
if you mean activesync mail in outlook then try disableing the
sync of mails in activesync on the pc
if you mean some other mail account you can just delete it
I think he means can you remove the outlook account from the mail app on the pda.
I have 3, SMS, MMS, Outlook. When I add my Hotmail and Imap folders too its getting crowded. I never use the outlook sync function so can the whole folder be removed?
sorry guys. yes i did mean the later.. wish to remove the "outlook" folder from my Mail program in WinCe2003, on a I-mate Jam..
You cant simple remove the account. its actually disabled, i have dis-enabled active synce to synce bewteen outlook etc etc but still it remains..
My source telles me it cant be removed without neccessary registry cheats.
anyone know what they are?
I know how to do it.. It causes a problem though. Afterwards all my text messages (sms) do not trigger a notification. No matter what is set in sounds and notifications...
Registry editor..
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\
Rename ActiveSync to ActiveSync-
I'm still messing with it to see if I can get my sms notifications back. I'm not sure what else this might affect. Renaming ActiveSync back fixes the sms notification, in case you were wondering..
cheers.
Thank you very much for that sir.
Ill let ya know if i manage aswell to work how to make it go Ding..
scottmbritton - Any luck with this
I know that this is a very old topic. I could find any newer ones, so just gonna kick this 2 year old topic back to the top
Does anyone have a good method to delete the outlook account without losing sms notifications?
I've been wondering about this forever as well.
nope, I ended up enjoying lack of notifications from memory, all those moons ago. ah register.. how I miss yee.

I'm using the Orwell WM6 rom and having problem syncing email with Exchange via GPRS. I can sync calendar and contacts with no problem and desktop sync is ok for email. But everytime I sync 'over the air' my email inbox ends up empty.
It all works perfectly with WM5.
I've read a few posts about problems with Exchange sync but haven't seen any solutions. Does anyone know how to fix this? This might be the only thing that sends me back to WM5 and I really don't want to do that unless I have to.
Thanks.
I tried to reproduce this error but have not been able to... I am using the PDAVIET3 WM6 ROM though, I use push-email and havent had a single issue with this ROM. Maybe you might want to try that wm6 version ( or pdaviet4 )
cheers
hmm I wonder if its because my Exchange is 2003 SP1. I sync on a schedule rather than push. Maybe SP2 is needed to sync with Exchange mail. Its a work server so I have no say in getting it upgraded.
I'll try one of the pdaviet roms. Thanks for the suggestion.
See if your IT guy can run through the settings. The only thing I could think of is he might not have the "Enable unsupported devices" checked. The screen below is of an Exchange server with SP2 installed. I assume that option is also in SP1.
Exchange 2003 SP2 is required to have Pushmail available, the scheduled synch should already work with SP1
I'd have your IT guy check the event logs on the Exchange box ...
I know it's not your decision but I'd really enjoy hearing the rational of your IT dept not installing SP2...
I remember when SP4 for NT blew up several of my servers (gotta love that BSOD!) but this update has been out for over a year and is considered critical.. and quite stable. Actually more stable than SP1...

Thanks for those suggestions guys. But it looks like I've got it fixed.
Before flashing one of the pdaviet roms I thought I'd hard reset the Orwell rom and see if that made a differance. And email is now syncing sweetly!
To make it even stranger, before the hard reset I found I could sync my sent items in email if I enabled that, just not the main inbox. Really strange.
I'm now reluctant to add any of the fixes in the Orwell rom for camera, mms etc. just in case they give me the old problem. But who cares. Exchange email sync is number 1 on my list.
Cheers.
Tried the several ideas (unchecking-checking e-mail server deletion option and hard reset) posted on sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1864960&posted=1#post1864960, but without success. Messages stay on server (have several different e-mail servers), relevant feature for me to organize on the road. Had a HTC 3300 until last week, with no issues on this matter at all, now with Diamond/WM 6.1 it simply doesn't work. Made several more tests, notice that until connecting again to server for sending new message, seems that the deletion worked but once new message is sent, messages are downloaded again. Didn't find any mention to this on several threads (am I missing something?) and appreciate help to fix!
same here.
what i did is instate of using POP, I change to IMAP.
my email support both POP & IMAP.
I've got the same problem with POP3 accounts. I'm guessing it's a WM6.1 thing - used to work fine with the exact same config on my TYTN II.
Would really love to hear from anyone that finds a fix.
hi!
i don't think that this is depending on wm6.1!
i had a trinity with wm6.1 and always synced with exchange (as i do now
with my diamond) with no problems.
since i have the diamond the deleted items don't disappear in my exchange
account, when i return to office the deleted items are still there...

markus
I can confirm that this is a bug with exchange and wm6.
You delete or move an email and it will not make the changes to the server until an email or appointment is pushed through to you.
only solution is then to wait for WM7?
I've got an Alltel Touch Pro with NFS's 6.5 rom installed and i'm looking for a better email app. My hotmail account seems to work fine but my configured cox account doesn't seem to work very well. It hangs up and freezes when I go to send/receive so i'm hoping there is something a lot better then what comes with it.
You should try flexmail. It's much better than pocket outlook.
I've been using AT&T XpressMail Exchange push solution for months, and it's great. However, I finally dove into WinMo 6.5 (Energy ROM version), and something isn't right with XpressMail anymore:
When I try to reply to an email from my corporate directory, the WinMo email client now renders the email address as the exchange address (which my phone doesn't recognize, so it won't send the email). As a result, I can no long reply to sender using XpressMail.
HOWEVER, if I Reply All, then everyone but the sender's email address is formatted with an SMTP format, so it will reply to them. It's just that the original sender's address doesn't get formatted as SMTP, so I still cannot reply to the actual sender!
What can I do?
Any info appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon
This is not a help but I am using a 6.5 rom and when I install express my home screen is messed up. I can not use the buttons anymore. I am not sure what the problem is but it seems that 6.5 and express do not like each other.
I don't have this problem... maybe you want to try uninstalling and re-installing? What home screen are you using? What buttons aren't working -- the hard buttons?
Have you tried Seven beta (http://seven.com)? It's the newer/beta version of XpressMail. I have not tried yet, as I'm not keen on the service interruptions. But the problems I'm having seem to be around the newer ROMs and how they configure Pocket Outlook. Looking for potential reg settings or cabs that can resolve this problem...
I can't be the only one, can I?

Don't know what happened, but Xpressmail suddenly works now with my WinMo 6.5 ROM. Go figure.
