I have an interesting problem with the Weatherpanel application and windows 6.1 on my stock Kaiser. I have set the program to use the system time but it shows up as one hour earlier on the today screen. I have tried fooling it but it reverts when I sync the program.
I have an old Ipaq 5555 that I use as a gps and have same program working just fine on it. It seems to have happened when I upgraded Kaiser to HTC's stock 6.1 rom but that was also when DST kicked in. I think this is a windows problem more than Weatherpanel but cant be sure. Not a huge issue but one of those things that piss you off until you can fix it.
Any ideas? Is there a special registry setting that sets time that program could be using? The system time is correct in all other apps and on today screen as well but would like to disable that one as the top bar is pretty crowded.

Greetings fellow tweakers,
I am having a problem with my newly acquired US-version T-Mobile MDA Vario (aka HTC Wizard).
For some reason, I can't get ANY 3rd party SIPs (software input panels) to work with this damned thing. NONE. I have tried at least half a dozen (Calligrapher, InterKey, etc.), and the result is always the same. The SIP installs, and when I click on the SIP icon, the option shows on the popup menu (although that menu takes FOREVER to display). Then, when I try to select it, the device reverts to the default keyboard SIP and the one I installed never works.
I once had this problem on my older Wallaby device, and it mysteriously went away. Is it possible that I have a corrupted DLL or registry setting somewhere?
Is anybody else seeing this kind of problem?
Thanks, and happy hacking.
- Justin
This is a know problem with the WM5 devices. I had the same problem.
Luckily Fitaly made a version 4 which doesn't have this problem.
All the other alternetive input methods suffer from this problem.
A small workaround: Soft reset and then choose the SIP of choice before opening any other programs. Works most of the time. Sometimes Todayplugins can interfere.

I've tested a bunch of SIPs, and there's several where after the install, you need to soft reset first. Some of them actually do this for you (TopKey was one of them, I think).
I know this topic is months old, but I have recently run into this issue. I'm using Molski's WM5 v3.3 and am getting the EXACT issue as the 1st post recounts.
I install calligrapher, soft reset, run anything, click the keyboard icon (in order to change input methods), the PDA pauses for 7-12 seconds, menu pops up, I click on calligrapher, the keyboard icon remains and the input method doesn't change.
I absolutely LOVE calligrapher, and this is really worrying me on this AKU version.
Is there a fix for this or another AKU3.3 ROM that allows calligrapher to work?

This may be a simple one, but Im stumped...
My Tilt connects to my exchange 2007 server. On other phones running WM6, ActiveSync stays online 24/7. On my Tilt, it goes dormant after a while. I added an exclusive in task manager...
Basically when I grab it after its been idle for a few hours and look, ActiveSync says it was last synchronized at whatever time, I manually sync it, and it pulls down everything and stays online for a while, but eventually it goes dormant again...
Im sure that it's a simple fix, but I can't for the life of me, figure it out....
I have the same problem with mt Tilt. If I use the ATT ROM it works fine but if I move to one of the HTC ROMS I get that problem with Activesync disconnecting from the Exchange server.
I had the same issue on my 8500 with some of the cooked ROMs. On that device the ATT ROM and vp3G's ROMS worked fine (except for one of his; the hybrid I think).
For now I'm just sticking to the ATT ROM and pray vp3G gets a Tilt so he can start making ROMs for our device.
If you don't want all the ATT bloat installed then hard reset and then just hit the soft reset button when it pops up saying it going to customize the device in 3 seconds.
Kaiser connection issues
There are some issues going on with the way the Kaiser pulls emails after it goes to sleep.

One of the problems that I've found on this issue is the ActiveSync notifications becoming corrupted. I'm not sure how to go about fixing this, but I downloaded a program called MemMaid that was able to rebuild the ActiveSync notification queue. After I rebuilt the notification queue for ActiveSync my Windows Vista Home Premium and XP Pro systems saw my Tilt and were able to sync again.
Support code 0x86000107 is really a pain in the ass. After upgrading to wm 6.1 me and many people began to experience syncronization problems. Until today 08/08/08 no one find a solution to this. After sometime you want to sync and the activesync encounters that a problem happened in the desktop, someone said it was the tasks, other said it was the notes, but the problem persists, and it is because something is wrong in the new version. I am back to wm 6.0 until the next realease.

i up grade my wmdc and still same problem, I belive sktools started the problem.
Same here. For me, it's one PC and Windows Live sync that cause the same error code on contacts. It's a well known issue for 6.1. I don't have sktools so it has nothing to do w/ it.

Fix is confirmed.
1. Export your personal folders to a new PST.
2. Go to control panel -> inbox -> data file management, add the new pst, make it default.
3. Open Outlook once and close it
4. Go back to the data file management and remove the old pst from the list.
5. Delete parthnership and resync.

Personally I've had the same prob.. but it was on WM6.0. I can't sync until I upgraded to 6.1 last week. Everything has been working fine and sync never had any probs ever since....
I recently called in a warranty for my tilt due to a broken screen. They shipped a new one, and low and behold it had 6.1. I didn't think I could mess up my phone by installing a theme .cab that was made for a different version of windows, but I did. It rebooted five to six times, and after that it would either stay turned off or on. When it was on, the touch screen was unresponsive, as well as the hardware keys. I called the insurance and they said they might have sent a defective phone [didn't say anything about the .cab file hah], and now I'm back where I started.
I'm scared if I install old .cab files I will have the same situation.
Will the KaiserTweak.exe still work well with WM6.1?
This might be a little far fetch to hope for, but will this theme work for the tilt: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366521
If not, am I able to use old themes for the diamond without being stuck in reboot?
Another problem I've found is I'm unable to edit the windows of my phone folder on my computer. I'm wanting to do some heavy changes, and it's easier to navigate on my computer. The error message I get when I try to copy/paste clock images is that I don't have permission to edit the files. Is there a fix for this?
I ran into the same problem as you at first. I ended up using the HTC Home Customizer to set any changes theme wise and that did the trick. As for the Kaiser Tweak, it does work with 6.1 and I have used it quite a bit to unlock some of the limitations of the Tilt. Another option would be to use the Advanced Configuration Tool, from Julien Schapman. It seems to work pretty good too and works well with 6.1. For the locked file problem, I have not run into it much, you could try and use MyMobiler to remote to your phone so you can use the mouse to move things around. Hopefully that helps.
I found the black theme I was looking for here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364541
I still have the "cannot copy "'HH_HOME_0':Access is denied. Be certain that there is enough free storage memory, that the destination is not write protected, and that the file is not currently in use" As well as unable to edit it from my computer.
It's not in use because I disable the HTC home plug in, so it's not showing up on the today screen.
Same deal, i had 6.1 on the new one, and it took some doing to get hardspl to take on the phone. Also the bloatware just kept coming back no matter what i did. The window on the bloatware reset is like 1 second now w/ 6.1. It loads it so fast.
I work for a Japanese company, so I've added support for the language to WindowsMobile phones several times and never had these problems.
I install LetsJapanNo6 on a Tilt that's been upgraded to 6.1 and as soon as I type a few keys (regardless of the SIP used; even before any extra are loaded) it flips out and starts "typing" garbage and the only way to stop it is to soft reset. I've done a lot of other stuff without typing, and that seems to be the only time it happens. I tried installing IME_31J_QVGA_F first and making the necessary reg edits, but that didn't change anything.
I thought my files might be corrupt, so I re-downloaded them from a few different locations. I was going to use Effy's solution, but it doesn't have the type of SIP my people like to use.
Hmm... I remember I saw exactly the same behavior you are describing a little while back on my Tilt. If I remember correctly I was trying to install ookii.org's pocket dictionary and not LetsJapan at the time though. I never figured out what the deal was though as got rid of the device shortly after that.
I used to use LetsJapan on that same phone all the time without any issues, but I think that was before I upgraded to WM6.1, so maybe it is a issue with the WM6.1 rom for the tilt? I know it is not an issue with WM6.1 in general because I have LetsJapan running on my new Fuze without any problems.
If downgrading to WM6 is an option, you might try that and see if it works.
Try IME for WM6
Frode Aleksandersen ported or emulated IME on WM6...
I initially found it here...
