hey,
i currently use the Hyperdragon III BlackStone Build.
Recently i noticed i had a duplicate DCIM foldero n my 4gb memory card. every photo i took was duplicated aswell. Not thinking anything of it i left it.
Today i take 3 photographs. While i am viewing the on the screen goes off. so i bring it back out standby and try to skip to the next image. only, the next image is the same image.
i turn the phone off and back on, to a screen under images saying "no pictures avaliable". Now every time i take a photo it seems to just get dumped.
Is there a way i can fix this? and although unlikly, can i recover my lost images?
cheers

Hi all. I got my Kaiser on Monday and am VERY pleased with it. Like pretty much all of the folks on this forum, I wanted to "upgrade" it a bit.
My problem is:
I installed the BBC file onto the mem card (2 gig). It said click OK to restart device. I did, but now it gives me the Windows Mobile screen and NOTHING else. The (left) indicator light is flashing green but nothing else is happening. When I press any of the buttons, they light up, but the screen does not change.
Mine is the HTC original rom, unlocked. The only thing I have installed on it is Skype.
When I call it, the incoming screen comes in over the WM startup screen but that's it. The phone works but the "Phone - Incoming" notification stays visible even after I have hung up.
I can connect and sync with ActiveSync, but the screen does not change.
Even after I take out the battery (because that's the only way to turn it off) and take out the mem card and restart, same thing happens.
I am in DESPARATE need of help!!!!!
Any suggestions as to how to "unbrick" my baby?
If there is any other info you wold need in order to shed some light on the issue, just let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Dominic
Hi all.
I found a way around the problem.
Apparently the file I got was a VERY old version. I did a hard reset (luckily I didn't lose anything as I only had it a few days) and installed the file from the link on this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327695 and it works fine now.
Thanks to all of you guys who already did the hard work in getting links, etc.
Later.
Dominic
Good day forum,
I would really appreciate your help on this:
This afternoon I deleted a file from the Kaiser's Micro SD card (a jpeg picture, but a pretty large one).
While deleting you clould see the "working" symbol in the middle of the screen until the symbol froze. I left the unit alone for about five minutes (way enough time to delete a file......) and made a soft reset since the Kaiser would not react any more.
Since then the unit behaves very strange: after starting you can hear the vibrating alarm for a second and the screen shows "smart mobility". This screen stays up for about 15 seconds but the display of the SW version etc. will not show up any more. The units shuts itself down and repeats the same procedure over and over again.
I check the forum, to no avail. Yes, a hard reset is still possible and was performed twice, no success.
Can anyone give me a clue what is wrong. My Kaiser is a German model with original ROM, nothing changed from the original. Reflashing the unit by myself is not possible since there is no German Kaiser ROM to download. And it might not cure the problem.
Thank you all
GZ
Try to pull out the microSD...
I had a similar issue deleting alot of files with pocket mechanic. Left it on for a few minutes, just to realize that it died on me. Apparently, with some trouble shooting steps, i was able to resolve the issue. Make sure your phone is connected to a external power supply(not the computers). I found out that the battery i had was on a critical low, everytime i boot it up it would just reach the smart mobility screen and just turn off. (which was strange because i had 70% battery life before i deleted the files) Eventually, i figured out the battery was drained. I immediately plugged it into an external adapter(using pc's wasnt enough power) and managed to get into the today screen. I let it charge a bit and everything was resolved. Hope this helps! goodluck
All,
connecting the Kaiser with it's original Power adapter (5V, 1A) made no difference. The unit will not even go in charge mode, it keeps rebooting every 15 seconds. I left it like this for 30 minutes and gave up.
Is there anybody who can tell me how a business critical device like this can die while deleting a standard file from the SD card in such a manner that I have to turn it in for repair (propably gone for weeks)? What did I do wrong?
If this is a standard on these type of devices I have to rethink my decision. I was facing the same issue with a Sony Ericsson K800i which died during transfer of a file via Bluetooth. Had to send it in for repair (2,5 weeks gone), but SE admitted that it was an OS bug and released a new FW available for download 1 month later.
I can still hard reset the TyTN and I can get into bootloader mode while pressig the camera button during startup, but I am missing the original German ROM to reflash the unit.
Any help out there?
Best regards
GZ

Hi, I recently flashed my phone to cyanogens 3.6.8.1 all was well until yesterday when the phone screen displayed vertical lines like a grey color, the phone could receive calls but from t mobile customer service and it was booting up tho I couldn't see the screen. Then I took the sim card out and the screen returned to normal but was stuck in the splash screen. I reflashed and sometime the next day it happened again, this time I took out the sim card and it went back to normal
Any ideas

Could you post a log of this? Could you also provide some more details about your set-up (a2sd? swap? comcache? spl/recovery?) and how did you get to this point (did you wipe before flash? did you run any back-up apps, what were you doing when it happened?)
Once we have that info we should be able to figure it out.
I started out with th jesus freak rom then I decieded to flash the cyanogens 3.6.8.1, I had trouble with the market because I hadn't wiped first, I did that and all was well for at least 5 days. I created an ext2 partition for apps2sd but I'm not sure if that worked. Then on the Saturday 6 days later I put fotmob on my phone so I could keep an eye on the opening premiership season put the phone in my pocket whilst at the football and 2 hours later the phone screen was dead, nobody could call me tho I know the phone was operating and booting only t mobile manage to get through, I tried a reboot, then took the sim card out and the screen went back to normal but was stuck on the splash screen. I tried fixing file ext but came as error asomething about the super block being unreadable tried manually but didn't work, tried backup still stuck, reflashed worked fine for. 20 hours then it happened again this time I wasn't doing anything with the phone no programs other than the usual running in the background, this time I removed the sim card and the phone went back to normal again for about 4 hours then it happened again this time removing the sim didn't work.straight away but eventually it came good again.
Its now 11 15 and its running fine again. I have noticed that I now only have one ringtone (dream theme) and one notification tone and I'm getting a few force closes tho I not sure what they are I will report them if and when I see them
you need to get audio resources and unzip to the sd card all the ringers. search xda for audio resources
The screen went dead again at 3pm this time after removing the sim card it stayed the same it was only after leaving the battery off it returned to normal again about 10 minutes later, I am also getting a vending core force close from time to time, please someone help me solve this issue.
P.s I've never actually seen the phone do this it happens when it is in my pocket when I get it out it happens also this time I have not installed any software and it is still happening

Because you lost your ringtones, it sounds like your SD card is acting funny, I would format it using this guide (make only 2 partitions for the time being, fat32 and ext3).
See if that works...May be complete reflash with wipe wouldn't be a bad idea neither.
That's all I can suggest at this point, I'll need to see a log to be anymore specific, but try this out, sounds like you've got nothing to loose
Good luck.
Thanks for your reply I am very greatful, I have tried a different sd card without setting up partitions and it still happens. I think the latter is true and a complete reflash is definately the thing to do.
I think this may be a hardware issue because as I mentioned it only happens when it has been in my pocket for a while, perhaps it is overheating or something.
I'll try a complete reflash and let you know if it happens again.
Wipe, re-flash, reformat your sd (or take it out altogether, just to rule it out see what happens... This is all I can tell you....
good luck
I posted the below summary in the Sticky thread at the top but received no response so I figured I'd try it here.
I have a unlocked US Touch Diamond which I purchased new through Amazon last November.
When I take a picture with the camera, no matter which option i choose (the back arrow which saves it, album or e-mail/sms) it will hang with the "wait" disc moving in the center. After several minutes it may go back into camera mode but it does not save the picture anywhere.
I have checked internal storage & main memory. I have tried changing the camera settings to save to both (which have ample storage space available)
I've rebooted, and tried several different settings & resolutions to no avail.
I'd like to avoid a hard reset, but I haven't successfully taken a camera pic in a month.

I'm having the same problem for some weeks. I upgraded operator firmware (German Vodafone) to a newer version and applied my usual tweaks, now I can't take any photos any more.
But: Video recording works fine, preview works as usual, and sports mode seems to work - at least i don't see the "work" disc in center. I have to close camera in the task manager and the pictures are all green (with some distortion).
I tried to undo my camera tweaks (using TF3Dconfig and DiamondTweak), but had no success.
Maybe I'll try a hard reset some day...
Double post - whatever...
Still get no answer? I also got the same problem with my another phone. That's why I get diamond 2.

Thanks for that. But the problem still ain't solved.
Maybe the technicians in the carrier company will solve that.(But my last phone is no longer in warranty.)
solved
I had forgotten I had used Advanced Config to change the "Encode Photos in Portrait Mode" option to "Yes"
I switched it back to "No," soft rebooted and I'm back to snapping pictures...
Have anyone else had this problem? What could be the issue?
YES! I lost like 30 pictures I took at Mt. St. Helens! I was very very very upset. They were there for like 24hours, then boom, all of them turned into your SS. This happened WITHOUT using live focus, for me. I'm not sure whats causing it, but this is my process so far trying to narrow it down:
-Took random picture after I noticed this, and it turned into unreadable file and eventually disappeared all together within 24hours. Pictures are all stored on the EXTSD card on my phone.
-Removed EXTSD Card. (EXTSD is a Samsung 64gig Samsung XC I Class 10)
-Factory reset my phone for a different issue with secure folder.
-Took another random picture, and its still there and readable 18hours later (stored to internal memory)
Im hoping the SD card was just faulty or something because its very worrying to take "once in a lifetime" pictures and have them disappear 24hours later and be irrecoverable. Ill def. be following this thread to see if anybody pins it down.

I changed to a smaller Samsung SD for a while and got to keep all my pictures. Then I changed to a cheaper bigger one and voila - the problem came back.
Did you ever find a way to restore the broken photos?
