I've recently installed some cabs for my Fuze and somehow my battery indicator now is incapable of showing me the remaining charge. If I unplug the charger from the phone the plug icon will not switch to the battery icon, then I would have to perform a soft reset to see the battery, then comes the next problem, it refuses to show me how much battery is left. Instead it shows me a full battery bar the whole time until I tap on it and look at the System Status splash page and then I see how much battery life is left.
I am using the original AT&T rom, my phone is unlocked and here are the list of cabs that I have installed recently when this problem happened:
Strategus (aka warcraft 2)
Diamond Slide to Answer for HTC Fuze
Lumos
xnpocket_xscale
Diamond Tweak 0.5.3
I'm wondering if any of these are the cause of the issue. Thanks for your time for helping me.
I also got the similar problem that the battery icon is not showing correct information. IMHO, it was after I install Diamond Slide to Answer for HTC Fuse cab. I tried to removed it without successful and caused me to hard reset it and now my battery icon back on track.
It's my opinion only and I have no intention to discredit someone else hard work.
Unfortunately, you are right. I just uninstalled the slide to answer software and my battery indicator is back to normal. I'll have to check on that V4.
Guys,
If you have uninstalled the slide 2 Answer just because of battery icon issue, please use the following simple registry fix. I had the same problem after installing slide 2 answer and the following registry fix resolved the problem:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\security\ResOver\Bitmaps]
"BatteryIconIdStart"=dword:00000000
"BatteryIconLevels"=dword:00000000
Warning: Please edit registry only if you know what you are doing

Hi There,
I have an HTC version TYTN 2, which is a great piece of gear.
One issue, when i charge via USB port, say overnight when on a business trip, when i check in the morning the large clock from the HTC screen disappears, and the device seems to lock up.
A soft reset fixes it no problem, however wondering if anyone else is seeing this. I have the original HTC shipped ROM.
Thanks,
Derek
I am having the same issue I think. With the original HTC Rom, this would happen 2 out of 3 charges, since moving to the Dutty 6.1 ROM it seems to happen each time I charge overnight.
When I disconnect the phone from the charger in the morning, the blocks on the top bar (tasks, charge, volume) are corrupt - they display as a garbled full box. If I try to use the phone without reseting, the entire display will become a garbled mess, it seems like its not clearing the screen before it writes more information, so eventually it just becomes full.
A simple reset every morning fixes this, but I would love to know whats causing it
Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? It doesn't seem like its an issue that effects many people, as searches of this site for all the keywords I can think of produce no other threads on this.

I also have the same issue as stated above.
Just as an update, it looks like it was batti that was causing the problem. Once I removed that software, the constant freeze ups on charging stopped.
a guy on a dif alltouchdiamond.com, orangecrush wrote:
"I read a fix on xda forum and I switched to GSM only but more importantly, I used a program to stop what is called "auto-attaching".
Basically, they explained it that it stops the phone from searching for GPRS all the time.
I tried it today and as usual, I turned my phone on at 6:45 am
It's 7:10pm and I STILL have 2 bars left.
Unbelievable, it would have been finished 4-5 hours ago.
Mark"
I searched here and cannot find what he is talking about. Can anyone point me in the right direction? (I have the US version with the official rom, and although some of your tweaks do not work, most of them do and are amazing!)
basically, I'm still draining battery power somehow and have done fixes and think that that above may help.
Thanks!
I think you're talking about GPRS auto-attach, but mis-spelled the thread title as GPS auto-attaching.
Anyways, there is a setting in Advanced Config under Data Connections, where you can disable GPRS auto-attach.
Hope this helps.
Yup you were right on! Thank you very much.
Now, does anyone know if it makes that much of a difference?
Be aware that even if you disable GPRS auto-attach then when you do come to connect, and subsequently disconnect, you will still remain attached. Only a soft-reset will return the device to a non-attached state (as indicated by a non-solid G icon).
Mathew
Softreset is not required. Just turn off the phone unit in CommManager and turn it on again (need to re-enter your pin of course). And you will be not attached again.
By the way. It does not even show the non solid (grey) G icon for me when I'm not attached (o2 germany). While I'm roaming T-Mobile it sometimes shows a grey E (EDGE) icon.

Ah yes, I hadn't though of that. It's still a shame having to do this step anyway though.
For what it's worth I now leave mine as auto-attach as since upgrading to the latest ROM my battery life is quite acceptable, and I'm not sure staying detached really helped me much, if at all, in real terms.

Hi all,
This morning my phone was still doing fine, alarm went off, display was normal. When I unplugged it from the charger to go to work, the display turned into the attached screenshot. Funny thing is it wasn't hanging, the numbers on the clock was still flipping over
Has anyone seen this before, but more importantly, is there a fix for it?
Thanks
I had that. Only thing is to re-insert the battery.

I did a soft reset, which fixed it. Just a bit concerned as yesterday early morning, while charging, the phone hanged.
Maybe time for a new ROM
Thats if its a software issue and not a hardware issue. I've posted on this problem I have and its similar to yours.
Its related to the 3d driver from htc. either its the poorly written api or the poor 3d chip is the culprit.
Disable TF3d and you will not see this happening again. But then, it wouldnt be a diamond without Manila, would it?
Might be a good opportunity to "upgrade" your ROM....
alright after almost 1 week of testing, I can finally conclude that this problem has disappeared.
I've tried changing to v1.93 Olinex and tested the roms from SwiftBL, Panosha, Vic etc. None was able to resolve the problem until I tried Dutty's v2.6. The problem no long appears and has been rock stable, be it overnight or normal usage.
A closer look revealed that Dutty's rom has a newer version of Manila, while Swift and Vic (not sure about Panosha)'s romes had an older version.
Give it a try guys and see if it works for you.
I searched the xperia forum and I am not able to find information about this issue.
I would like to help making a new battery.dll.
I am trying to contact CRCinAU who did this successfuly for trinity so he can spread some light.
Has any of you already tried battery.dll from blackstone on his xperia?
Or has anyone made any steps towards a working solution?
Thanks
From what I've read, the X1 battery controller supports no other than 10% increments. If the hardware is not able to tell the software what the % is, nothing can help you.
yes but that's what everyone believed for the tytn, trinity and I think hermes as well! Could you show me where you read this?

You are correct, Also back in the days. TyTN II only -10% and now every rom has -1%.
well it seems no one is interested.
CRCinAU has not replied to my message either.
The solution is probably identical to the other devices that had this issue so it's just a matter to get some hints (where to look inside battery.dll).
I can hardly believe it, but if you do make a find, don't hesitate to post it.
here the same if you can find an solution then i also would welcome when you post it here
I tested one of thse power drivers (its a dll in the end) and didnt work... It would have to be adapted for the xperia
...and it has to be cooked-in as far as I remember form the TyTn roms.
to cook it inside isnt an problem at all, but to get an working dll or whatever is needed is the problem
I can send you the power driver "as is"
PM me
yes do so, then i will make some tests with it and cook some roms, i think if we really find an solution then all cookers will use it.
Regards,
cHarOn
Well yeah, if you'd be able to get this working, it'd be a huge breakthrough.
Alas I don't have time to take this on as yet another project.
the question is, is it really only an driver limitation, or is it really an hardware limitation, maybe i should look into the Hermes Threads a little bit?
also it would be interessting if we could find an other WM Phone with same hardware and maybe this dll should work then hehee
The most similar device is the touch HD, which has a different battery controller (1% increments already work there).
I think looking into the hermes threads will teach you a lot. Where to look, for instance?
Here it is guys:
User "nue" has a very ineteresting collection of very useful apps
He has managed to modify the power driver to allow 1% increments for Vogue and TyTn, but I also read working reports in a Diamond thread: They combined sdkcert + tsownes battery icons (has the full 0->100% icons) + nuePower driver and succeeded
Here's the link to nue's download site:
http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/page/nuePower.aspx
PS: take a look at battery.dll
I was searching for the same thing, 1% increments, and came across someone on XDA froums who had changed the icons for battery, signal etc and also included 1% increments for battery. I installed them a couple of days ago and they worked fine. The only reason I removed it was because I was I need the time and battery up there and couldn't find a solution other than SBP which replaces adds an extra battery while windows replaces the original battery with the time.
which one did you use??????

The cab is called FInixNOverBattery
I have just reinstalled it, and it's showing 70% battery. To be honest, on further investigation, I'm not sure if it is actually showing 1% increments on the X1. I'll leave it running a while to see, but I have a feeling it's just showing 10% increments.
Sorry guys, this could be a false alarm.
oh no this doesnt change the battery.dll it is only an battery icon skin in 10% steps, ok have to search more and play around with the touch-hd battery.dll.
Hey there i was hoping some one could help me out. I have 2 things
1.) The Battery Icon on the top bar does not update at all. It just shows a full charge no matter how much charge my phone has, When I plug it in it doesn't change to charging either. If I go to battery properties I then can see how much charge my phone has. Anyone encountered this?
2.)2 buttons on my key board are reversed. The 2 Fn Blue buttons "!" and "@" are reversed, how do I change those?
I am on rom version Stylez Black WM 6.1 Full v.3 Beta 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=545821
and the last program I installed was S2U2 v2.04

Thanks for any and all help
Could be that you have the kaiser keyboard and not the Tilt.
Hmmmm, thats intresting
well my model # is kais100 and its HTC 8925.
is there still away to re-assign keys so I can fix this problem?
well if it's the problem that I think it is.
search + tilt keyboard problem = win!

It is also addressed in the faqs on the first page of the rom. Why people throw their phone in to the fire with out even spending 5 min to read the faqs is still beyond me. I have flashed my phone well over a hundred times and I still read the entire first page of any new rom I am flashing, to see what I am getting into with my $500 phone.
As far as the taskbar icons go, could be a bad flash, could just be a phone hiccup, no one else has had that problem with the rom. Try a hard reset or reflash the rom.
Thanks for the fast responses! I totally missed the keyboard fix on the FAQ, I got everything else (including the Radio from the FAQ) but that slipped by me.
now I am still new at tweaking my phone so will a hard reset restore all my setting and I will have reinstall all my programs I downloaded?
Just Figured out a Hard Reset will Erase all my Data. So no one else has had this problem...hhmmmm... It has to be one of the programs I installed, Maybe if I uninstall them 1 at a time ...... anyone else got any Ideas?
